Chapter two has been revamped and re-uploaded, so you can check that out if you want. I've been really busy lately, so much so, that I'm not sure when I'll be updating this, but from now on, I'll be leaving a completion tab on my bio to update all my followers on how far along I am on chapters and other fics. So I leave you all with an interlude for now.
SN: I can't wait to write a chapter on Dracula.
The clicking of her heels played an ominous melody on the cracked floor as her hands danced around the damaged goods that littered the halls. Lockers were bent, the overhead lights were going on and off, and bags, books and other material littered the floor, most likely dropped by students rushing to escape what was later announced as an earthquake. It wasn't though. But no one needed to know that.
Coming to the scene of the disaster, Mrs. Bloodgood stopped at what was left of Mr. Rotter's classroom. Inside was a disaster; everything was broken and smashed… Red stains spotted the floor. If you gazed long enough, Bloodgood was sure that she would be able to hear the tortured screams of the students who were once inside. She shook her head, trying to focus on what she was looking for – evidence. There wasn't any though, of course. She knew what happened and how, but she figured, or hoped rather, that she could find something that would dispel the truth and make things easier. But nothing ever came easy, not at Monster High.
She entered the room, one foot at a time, careful, as if any sudden movements could restart the terror. Gazing around once more, she noticed something. It was quiet… eerily quiet and still. Not one insect or bird crawled into the room, despite the shattered windows leaving a gap into the room. Even the animals could feel the menacing glower that still entrapped the room. Seeing nothing worth noting, she turned and walked out of the room, heading back towards her office. She sighed, now she was going to have to take drastic measures; and drastic measures always meant that a bigger crisis would occur.
Despite it being Wednesday afternoon, the school was empty. She had dismissed the students after the accident and then sent out emails cancelling school for the remainder of the week, probably until next week too with the way the East side building was holding up…
Swirling along the damaged hall, she thought to herself, just how powerful was Draculaura becoming? Or was this power always looming inside of her? She knew that Draculaura had recently received her vampire powers, from finding the true Vampire Queen, but unlike other vampires, her powers were limitless.
You see, her father – Dracula – was one of the most legendary monsters in history. He was from the most elitist vampire bloodline; related to the pure blooded royals, who held high power and authority. Throughout his years, he had gained immense knowledge and wealth. But more than that, it was said that he was from "the Origin".
Like all creatures, everything has a beginning: It's said that devilish creatures of the night, were made in pairs from the blood of Lucifer himself before the last of his angelic enchantment wore off. These creatures, made of sin and angel blood could walk the earth same as any of God's creations. They were called, "the Titans". And they consisted of werewolf's, the fairies, the vampires and so forth. They are the true lineage of monster kind, the most powerful and the most horrendous; even today, monsters would use them in their horror tales.
All had died, of course, passing on their spirit to their kindred. Except for Dracula. No one knows how he lived for so long, how he escaped from all traps or came back scratch free from near death, but here he was.
Being so naïve, Bloodgood doubted Draculaura had even questioned how she's able to do some of the impossible. Like how she can walk into any room regardless of being invited in, how sunlight left her bruised and injured but cannot kill her, or the most obviously perplexing, surviving without blood. It's a necessity for vampire life, it's what keep them alive. They need it because they lack enough to keep their heart pumping and their organs intact. They also spend the little that they do have, healing and regenerating themselves, which Draculaura has no need for, since for some reason, she cannot get harmed. Not truly, at least. Which made this situation all the more terrifying.
Draculaura was a sensitive and emotional girl. With no knowledge or way of controlling her unstoppable power, her wrath could destroy monster high and most of the student body. Bloodgood had to get this under control. Stepping into her office, Bloodgood took a key from under her coffee cup and opened a hidden drawer under her desk. Rummaging through dust and paper, she finally pulled out a manila envelope – With the name Dracula written on it. She flipped through it till she found a number.
She hesitated, she had only met the luminary Vampire once, when he was registering Draculaura into the school. His face had been covered, as well as the rest of him, but the aura that protruded from him revealed his true nature more than any look at his face could. He had handed her the envelope then, telling her that he wouldn't be in town after tomorrow but to call a number if ever she needed him. She remembered looking skeptic; call him for what?
Even with covered eyes, she could feel his stare, "Heed this, head mistress; you will be dialing it. Not now, not any time soon… But there will be a moment when in fear and desperation you will have no other choice. And perhaps, if you beg just enough, I'll be there."
And with that, he left.
And here she was, fearful (though she wouldn't admit it out loud) and desperate to keep her school alive. Did he suspect this? Did he know that one day Draculaura would become… this? There were too many questions, and only one person with the answers. Picking up her phone, she dialed the number.
It rang only once before he picked up, "Speak." He said.
"Dracula. This is Head Mistress Blood-Good. I have a problem." Nothing. After waiting for a few more seconds, she cleared her throat and added, "I need your help". There was a brief moment of silence before he responded and when he did, she could feel him smiling. A wide, wicked grin, with fangs glistening, as if ready to bite into flesh.
"Yes, I would assume so. If you're ready to beg for my assistance, I'll be happy to give it."
Bloodgood ran a hand through her short hair, Dracula wasn't one to make jokes, but clearly he misunderstood the situation to answer so lightly, "I'm not sure if you're understanding… Your daughter is-"
"I'll stop you there. I really could not give less of a damn about that tragedy you have the audacity to call a school nor the people who attend it. Draculaura could rip every student in half and crush every brick, piece by piece and you know what I'll be doing? I'll be having a nice, warm cup of blood that I murdered a small child for. If you require my assistance, you will do as I say, or you will suffer. Understood?"
Dumbstruck, Bloodgood could only nod her head in response. Despite not getting a verbal response, Dracula must've known she would comply because the next thing she heard was, "Good girl. Now, where were we? Ah, yes. You were just about to bark like a dog and beg, like the dog you are."
Feeling a shiver trickle down her spine, she could already tell that things were going to get a lot worse before they got better.
Okay, so chapter 1-7 was happening more or less in the same setting (time and place), until this interval. Now, the next couple of chapters will be outside of school and entering a different period with appearances of other characters.
