Zila's POV
"So how the heck are we going to get Hook?" I wondered.
Rumple, Dakota, and I rendezvoused back at the apartment since my husband now had new information on how to get Hook back.
"We need a deceased soul's aura so our presence can be disguised" my mate explained. My husband shot me a look and I knew who's aura he wanted to use. I nodded before I turned to Athena.
"Will you keep Dakota safe?"
"Always" my sister-in-law promised.
"Be careful both of you" Dakota told me and her father.
I flashed my child a smirk while Rumple kissed her forehead. The others wished us luck before Emma, Rumple, and I left the apartment. Once outside I let my husband go find his ex-wife. I was ready to give this woman who caused Rumple some heartache a piece of my mind.
Eventually Rumple returned with a woman with black hair tied back.
"Ms. Swan, Zila this is my ex-wife Milah, and Hook's ex as well, she's also"
"Rumple don't push it" I warned my beloved with a growl. He was about to embarrass Emma which was something the Savior didn't need right now.
I then approached Milah and glared at her for a second before slapping her hard across the face.
"Zila! What the hell?!" Emma exclaimed.
Rumple wore an amused smirk on his face.
"May I ask why you slapped me? Milah asked while holding her face.
"Well for being a sorry excuse for a wife" I hissed. "Oh trust me my husband has told me all about you, how you viewed him as a coward"
"He was always a coward" Milah countered.
"Not when he deserted" I went on. "He did that so your son had his father in his life, that was an act of courage not cowardice"
"So your his wife then?"
"Your damn right I am and I'm also a Dark One so a word of advice don't piss me off any further"
Milah looked at me for another minute before eventually nodding.
Enchanted Forest
Athena's POV
For the past few hours I had been watching my brother and his wife comfort their child. The little boy had been bitten by a venomous snake and the only way to cure the little one was a certain amount of gold for the potion.
I didn't know I had a brother until recently. Rumplestiltskin and I had something in common. We were both parents and I refused to stand by and let my brother pay the price for obtaining the only cure for his son.
The healer was gone when I entered his tent but he returned a few minutes later.
"Lady Athena"
"I have a deal I would like to make with you" I announced.
"Name your price"
I smirked before I stood up from the chair I had been sitting in.
"Earlier a married couple came to seek the antidote for a snake bite, I want it"
I summoned a coin purse that had the gold amount the healer sold the cure for.
"There's your gold"
I set the purse onto the table and I let the healer count the amount. Once satisfied he handed me the vial containing the cure.
"You have my gratitude" I thanked Fendrake.
"You lost a child haven't you?" he asked suddenly.
I paused for a moment before answering.
"Yes I have"
I then disappeared in a cloud of red smoke. Later I would give Rumple what he needed to save his child.
Underworld
Zila's POV
"Okay the River of Souls freaks me out" I muttered as the boat we found glided across the creepy water. Milah was able to penetrate the spell that led to Hades' lair. Eventually the boat docked next to a pier and Emma got out.
Ahead was where that bastard Hades lived. I really did not like him at all.
"We'll stay here and keep an eye on the boat" Rumple told Emma. "It's valuable and Ms. Swan I wouldn't recommend using magic Hades will no doubt sense it"
Milah politely wished Emma luck with getting Hook as did I. The Savior thanked us before she hurried off to save the man she loved.
"So your Athena's successor?" Milah wondered.
I looked to Rumple's ex and nodded.
"Rumple and I have a daughter and she would have been the new female Dark One had I not intervened" I explained.
"A daughter?"
Milah looked to Rumple who nodded.
"Bae died saving Dakota's life, he pushed her out of the way so his sister wouldn't be poisoned"
I saw the painful look that came to Milah's face and as a mother I understood her pain. I placed a hand onto her shoulder and Milah looked at me.
"I tried to save Baelfire, as a werewolf our blood can heal pretty much anything but for some reason Baelfire's body rejected it, it was very hard for both me and Rumple to watch Baelfire die, but it was even harder for his sister, he wasn't alone when he passed away, I may not understand what's it like to lose a child but as a fellow mother I'm very sorry he died"
Milah was quiet for a few minutes before she finally replied.
"Thank you Zila and Rumple"
Milah turned to her former spouse.
"You have one hell of a wife"
I blushed at Milah's compliment.
I was tired sitting in the boat so I got out of it to stretch my legs. Rumple and Milah decided to do the same. Suddenly a familiar swirl of blue flames got my attention along with Rumple's. Hades smirked before using his power to freeze Milah.
Immediately both my mate and I drew out our daggers.
"Oh relax both of you" Hades greeted. "I'm not here to fight"
"Pardon us if we don't believe you" Rumple growled.
"Even when I'm here to talk about a deal?" Hades offered.
"We'll hear your offer before considering making a deal with you" I stated.
"Fair enough" Hades agreed.
A few minutes later both my mate and I were in the Lord of the Dead's lair. Hades was amusing himself by playing pool.
"You knew we were already here" I told Hades.
"Well of course" Hades confirmed. "Personally I'm a fan of yours Rumplestiltskin along with Athena, both of you have sent plenty of souls down here so here's my offer, I need you and your mate back up in Storybrooke and your friends I want them down here because frankly they piss me off"
"Sorry dearie but I'm afraid that's one deal we cannot make" Rumple answered. "And I'm pretty sure you don't want to anger my wife either"
Hades still wore that smirk I hated so much.
"Well Dark Ones I hope you enjoy staying in my domain permanently"
Enchanted Forest
Athena's POV
Using my magic I appeared in Rumple and Milah's home. My nephew Baelfire was asleep on a cot.
"What the hell?" Milah demanded.
"Lady Dark One" Rumple greeted me.
Both parents were afraid when they shouldn't be.
"Your son will live" I promised and I handed over the cure to Rumple.
"Thank you" my brother said relieved tears went down his face.
I smiled before taking my leave.
Underworld
Zila's POV
"What the hell?!" Milah fussed after she became unfrozen. "Hades was just here! What's going on?"
"Hades tried to convince us with a deal and we declined it" Rumple informed his ex.
"But why?" Milah wondered.
"Our friends matter more than his selfish needs" I answered. "And you deserve to move on so you can be with Baelfire"
Milah's jaw dropped. I guess she hasn't expected her ex-husband to refuse a deal from Hades.
"Rumple you definitely changed" Milah went on. She then looked to me. "And it's because of her"
"Oi!"
We all turned to see Emma with Hook. He looked like hell but he was alright. Rumple patted the pirate gently on the shoulder and I rushed over and hugged him. It was brief but Hook appreciated it nonetheless.
Milah was also relieved to see the pirate. Both he and Milah shared a quick hug before I used my dark magic to get us out of that place.
Later
Milah ended up crossing over but before she left she and Rumple parted ways on good terms. She also wished me and Rumple a good life along with Hook and Emma.
"So instead of accepting my deal you helped Milah move on" Hades greeted us as we entered his lair.
"It was the right thing to do asshole" I spat at the Lord of the Dead.
"Well you know now I can't allow you or your mate to leave Zila, well I will for another deal"
"Forget it" Rumple hissed.
"Fine then you let your friends suffer due to your selfishness but in exchange for her I'll free all of you"
Hades summoned an orb and he conjured an image of Dakota.
"You see a child has never been born from a Dark One and your daughter is well simply beautiful and unique"
"Sorry Hades but my brother and his wife won't make a deal when their daughter is involved" Athena interrupted.
"Athena what are you doing down here?" Rumple demanded.
"To make a deal with him" Athena nodded at Hades. "True Dakota is unique but I'm afraid you won't be getting your filthy hands on her, so instead you can have me remain down here for eternity in my niece's place"
Rumple and I protested but Athena held a hand up.
"I'm willing to pay the price for Dakota, and you'll also let the others who came with my brother and his wife return to Storybrooke, it's this or no deal"
"I accept your deal Athena" Hades responded. "Because frankly I'm a fan and I have a lot of respect for you"
"Then the deal is struck"
Athena summoned a contract and sent it to Hades. Her signature was on the bottom.
"But mark my words should I find out you lied to me or my family I'll make sure you'll pay" Athena threatened.
And with that Rumple, Athena, and I left using our magic.
