Pallet Town:
Ash was running towards his home after returning from the Unova Region, Pikachu was sitting on his shoulder. He was annoyed about the placement he got in the Unova League, but he was looking forward to his mother's cooking.
"Mom! I'm home!" Ash shouted, coming in through the front door.
"Welcome back honey", Delia replied from the kitchen.
Ash then noticed most of his old travelling companions and rivals were sitting in the living room.
"What are you guys doing here?" he asked confusedly.
"I'm going to straight up say it, you are a shit trainer, I thought you were at least getting a bit better after your high place in the Sinnoh League, but it turns out, that was just luck" Misty spat harshly.
The others nodded in agreement.
"You don't deserve your Pokemon, Pikachu, come join us", May intervened.
Pikachu thought for a moment, before running over to the traitors. "Pikachu..." Ash said sadly.
"Quickly, get his Unova pokemon!" Trip shouted. Within seconds his pouch of Unova pokemon were ripped off his belt.
Without thinking, Ash turned around and tried to escape, narrowly avoiding a barrage of sharp leaves, curtsy of Trip's Serperior.
The traitors could be heard releasing their pokemon behind him, Ash barely made it 20 feet before he heard the traitors command the pokemon to attack him.
Just as the attack were about to hit, Ash closed his eyes expecting to feel heaps of pain, but to his surprise it never came, instead he heard an explosion. Opening his eyes he was greeted with a familiar sight, in front of him was a tall blue pokemon with a huge belly, it was his Snotlax, it had used Protect to shield them both.
"Snorlax! Thank you!" Ash shouted hugging the blue behemoth.
"Tracey you idiot! You missed one!" May shouted at the painter.
"Snorlax we need to get out of here!" Ash told his pokemon, but before he could make a move he spotted a blur of red and green approaching fast, he recognised them instantly, it was his Sceptile and Charizard.
Charizard handed a pouch of 6 pokeballs, he recognised them instantly, there was Heracross, Bayleaf, Sceptile, Charizard, Snorlax and Infernape's pokeballs. Quickly returning Sceptile and Snorlax, he jumped on Charizard's back and took off into the distance.
On his way out he got a call from Professor Oak on his Poketch.
"Ash come in" called Oak. "I'm here Professor" replied Ash sadly, just realising that he now has been betrayed by those he holds close to him.
"I know what has happened, I helped Charizard get those loyal to you out of there, and rest assured that me and Gary are with you all the way." Professor Oak said, lifting Ash's spirit a bit.
"Yeah Ashy-boy, we got your back!" Gary Oak chimed in, "Where are you going to go?"
"I'm going to the one being who might understand betrayal more then me" Ash replied, thinking of a certain psychic cat "I'll be in touch guys... and thank you"
"Stay safe Ash" Both Professors said before the call let off.
