Fullbuster Family Morning:

AN: I was planning on writing about the celebration ball, but I was in the mood for some fluffy, wholesome goodness, so here we go!

Juvia sat up, stretching and yawning as she awoke. She rubbed at her eyes as she turned and looked to the other side of the bed. Gray was still asleep, one arm draped over his eyes as he snored. Juvia smiled as she gently lifted his arm and kissed his cheek. He smiled softly in his sleep, causing Juvia's heart to swell as she carefully climbed out of bed and put on her slipped and bathrobe. She checked on Juven, who was sleeping in a bassinet next to her side of the bed.

The baby was still sound asleep, sucking on his thumb. She smiled, smoothing his hair and kissing his forehead. He sighed in his sleep, squirmed, then settled back down. Juvia tiptoed out of hers and Gray's room and made her way to the kitchenette of their hotel suite. She hummed to herself as she began making a pot of coffee and began gathering ingredients to make pancakes.

Oh, how she'd missed this! Making breakfast for her happy little family!

She'd just set everything on the counter and was reaching to get a mixing bowl from the cupboard when she heard a pitter-patter of feet behind her and felt a pair of arms around her waist. She turned around, and smiled.

"Good morning, Storm," she said as she turned around and hugged her son.

"Good morning, Mommy," Storm replied, smiling up at her, his eyes looking a little damp.

"Darling, what's wrong?" Juvia asked, concerned.

"Nothing," Storm answered, wiping at his face. "I'm just glad you and Daddy are safe, that's all."

Juvia frowned slightly, tucking a hand under her son's chin and tilting his face towards her. "You were terribly frightened, weren't you?"

Storm hung his head, looking a bit embarrassed as he nodded his head.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Juvia asked.

"No, not really," Storm answered.

Juvia's brow deepened, but she nodded. "Alright, but if you ever want to talk I'm here."

"I know," Storm replied.

Juvia turned to go back to cooking. Storm walked up to the counter and looked over the ingredients.

"Do you need help with breakfast, Mommy?" he asked.

Juvia was a bit surprised. Storm had never asked to help her cook before, but she was certainly not about to turn him down.

"Sure," she smiled. "Why don't you see if you can find us some measuring cups?"

Storm quickly found a set of measuring cups and brought them back to his mother just as she was taking a sip of her coffee.

"Thank you, darling," Juvia called.

"Hey, what's coffee taste like?" Storm asked, pointing to his mother's cup.

"Would you like to try?" Juvia asked, holding the cup out to him.

Storm took a small sip, then quickly screwed his face into a grimace. "Blech!"

Juvia laughed at him. "Oh, you silly!"

"You like that stuff!?" Storm exclaimed, one eye still closed in a grimace.

"Not when I was your age," Juvia admitted. "I suppose it's an acquired taste."

"Acquired, how?"

"Well, sometimes you have to try something a few times before you like it."

"Why would I keep trying something I already know is gross?"

Juvia chuckled. "I suppose it does sound odd, doesn't it?"

"Yeah!"

"Well, it does help me wake up in the morning. It gives me extra energy."

"Oh," Storm nodded, this apparently making a bit more sense to him. "Now I know why Aunt Lucy says Uncle Natsu isn't allowed to have coffee."

Juvia laughed again. "Yes, that's why. Hm. I wonder if Nashi's ever tried coffee."

"More energy is the last thing she needs! And that goes for Koree too!"

Juvia laughed once more as the pitter patter of feet came down the hallway. Juvia turned, smiling.

"Good morning, Meeko!"

"Mornin'?" Meeko yawned, his stuffed penguin tucked under his arm as he shuffled towards Juvia and hugged her.

"Now, Meeko could use some coffee," Storm decided.

"Ew," Meeko frowned, making his mother chuckle once again.

Meeko shuffled over to the couch and looked out the window as Juvia and Storm went about making pancakes.

"Make sure you don't get any eggshells in there."

"Yes, ma'am."

After a few minutes Meeko suddenly perked up and ran to his mother's side.

"Hey, Mommy! Got any money?"

"In my purse, but why-" Juvia gasped as Meeko grabbed her purse and raced out of the hotel room.

"Thanks, Mommy!"

"Hey, wait-"

"I'll get him," Storm said as he chased after his younger brother. "Meeko, come back here with that!"

"What are those two knuckle-heads up to now?" a yawning voice called as Bianca stumbled out of the hall and into the living area.

"Good morning, Bianca!" Juvia beamed.

Bianca didn't return the good morning, she simply stumbled to her mother's side for a hug. "What are the boys up to?"

"Well, Juven's still asleep-"

"I knew that."

"Storm was helping me with breakfast, until Meeko stole my purse, so now he's chasing after Meeko."

"Dumb-dumb," Bianca rolled her eyes. "Want me to help you until Storm gets back?"

"If you'd like," Juvia nodded.

Bianca shuffled to the counter and finished cracking the eggs. She then poured in the milk and began mixing the wet ingredients while Juvia mixed the dry. They had just finished combining the two when the boys came back. Storm now had Juvia's purse clutched to his chest, while Meeko carried a bouquet of blue and white flowers.

"These are for you, Mommy," he said as he held them up.

"Oh, they're so pretty!" Juvia squealed as she picked them up and smelled them.

"Yeah, that's why I needed some money so I could get them for you," Meeko said.

"You could have said that before you went running out of here," Storm grumbled as he set Juvia's purse back on the table it had been before. He then took out a large glass from the cupboards and filled it with water for Juvia to put her flowers in. Juvia smelled the flowers one more time before setting them in their vase and then returning to what had now become a cooking class with her three older children. Not that she was complaining.

Juvia couldn't stop smiling as she showed her children how to grease the pan, spoon the right amount of batter into it, and when and how to flip it.

"Once you start seeing bubbles, that means it's ready to flip," she instructed.

"Got it," Bianca nodded as she flipped the pancake to relative success, except for…

"Hey!" Meeko whined as some of the batter splattered into his face.

"Oh, that's alright, that happens sometimes" Juvia chuckled, using a rag to clean her son's face off as Storm held a hand to his mouth to keep himself from laughing, and Bianca just looked terribly embarrassed.

The rest of the cooking was not so messy, thankfully, as each child took their turn at flipping a pancake. They then got to work making a fruit salad while their mother finished with the rest of the cooking.

"Alright, looks like we're about done," Juvia cheered. "You three finish setting the table while I go wake up your father."

"Yes, ma'am," the three children said as they set to doing what they were told.

Juvia made her way back to hers and Gray's bedroom, expecting to find her husband still asleep. Instead, she found Gray sitting up on their bed, knees drawn up as he held Juven propped against his legs. The baby must have woken up at some point, leading to his father now holding him and babbling to him.

"Hey, Juven. Juven," Gray called softly to the baby, who was curiously looking about the room. Juven turned his attention to his father, smiling brightly.

"Can you say 'Da-Da?'" Gray asked. "Say 'Da-Da.'"

"Da-pfffftttt!" Juven said as he blew raspberries, waving his arms in fun.

"Oh, that was close," Gray said, drawing Juven to his face and kissing his cheek. "Yeah, yeah. That was close."

Juven giggled and then grabbed a handful of his father's hair.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" Gray asked, gently tugging his hair out of his son's grasp as Juven giggled.

"What do you think you're doing, huh?" Gray asked again as he blew raspberries on Juven's neck, making the baby squeal with fun. Gray smiled at the baby, who giggled and began reaching for Gray's hair.

"Oh, no you don't!" Gray said, blowing raspberries on Juven's belly, making the baby squeal some more.

"You're just in a mischievous mood today, aren't you?" Gray asked as Juven smiled and reached for his hair again.

"Now, you stop that before I get you again," Gray said, pretending to snap at Juven's finger. Juven recoiled and laughed some more.

Juvia chuckled as she sat next to her husband, smiling at their son. "What's Daddy doing to you?"

"What am I doing to him?" Gray asked in faux surprise. "He's the one trying to yank me bald, aren't you, you little trouble maker?" Gray drew Juven close to his face again and rubbed his nose against his. Juven giggled, then grabbed onto his father's nose.

"Oh, can't get my hair so you're going to take my nose, is that it?" Gray asked in an overly nasally voice that made the baby laugh again.

Juvia giggled, running a hand over Juven's hair. "Juven, can you say 'Ma-Ma.'"

"Hey, uh-uh," Gray protested. "Both Storm and Bianca's first word was 'Ma-Ma.' I get Juven!"

"Well, Meeko's first word wasn't 'Ma-Ma,'" Juvia protested.

"His was 'no.' Neither of us won that. No kid should have their first word be 'no!'"

Juvia laughed. "Yes, I remember. Anything we said to him for months after that: bath time, food time, let's go outside, say ma-ma or da-da, was met with a resounding 'NO!'"

Gray chuckled. "Yeah, that should have been a heads up that he was going to be trouble…"

Juven began babbling again, clapping his hands and pumping his little legs.

"But not you, right?" Gray asked the baby. "You're going to be a good little boy, right?"

Juven just smiled and babbled some more.

"Yeah, I don't believe you," Gray shook his head. "You're going to be a little stinker just like the rest of 'em, huh? Aren't you?"

Juvia chuckled. "Breakfast is ready, by the way darling."

"Alright, let's go see what Mommy fixed us," Gray said as he stood, Juven still in his arms. "Of course when I say 'us' I mean 'me.' Mommy fixes you the same thing everyday, you lucky little stinker."

Juvia gasped, wrapping her arms around her chest. "Gray!"

Gray just laughed at his wife. "Just because I have to share doesn't mean I like it."

"Oh, stop it!" Juvia stamped her foot. "And for the record, it was just me. Storm, Bianca, and Meeko helped me out quite a bit."

"Well, alright, let's go see what you made."

"No. I'm not sure about that anymore," Juvia said, turning her nose up in false anger before jabbing her husband in the chest. "You're being naughty!"

"Aw, come on!"

"Hmph!"

"If I wasn't naughty you wouldn't have had those three helpers in the first place."

"Gray!"

"Am I wrong?"
