Chapter 5 The Embarrassing Drop
The rest of the T-Birds were all talking at the table in the Frosty Palace besides Danny. He was just kinda laying back and Kenickie noticed this."You okay, Zuko?" Kenickie asked him. Danny just nodded."Yeah" Danny replied, a little quietly. Danny continued to lay back. While Danny ate his food he saw Kenickie starring at him. Danny shrugged his shoulders."What?"Danny asked."Come on…. You don't have to hide anything from me… what's wrong?" Kenickie questioned.
"I'm fine, okay! Just let me be" Danny said. Kenickie shook his head."Nope. I'm not buying it, Zuko. You can tell me"Kenickie told him."Look, I just don't really wanna talk right now, okay" Danny explained."Yeah, if Danny doesn't wanna talk right now, just leave him be" Sonny agreed."Thank you" Danny thanked as he nodded."Come on, It's okay, little Danny. You can talk to me, come on" Kenickie said as if he was talking to a small child. Kenickie tickled under Danny's chin with his finger. Danny became embarrassed."Kenickie… please, not in public" Danny told him."Why not, everyone should know how cute your little self can be" Doody added."Oh yeah, your laugh is so adorable" Sonny added.
"It's true. It is pretty cute" Putzie agreed.
Danny couldn't believe that the rest of the T-Birds were saying about him in public. What if someone could hear? He didn't want to lose his tough personality in public. He's the 'leader of the T-Birds'. He should be tough. Not a cute little baby everyone can step on. Danny was now pretty embarrassed. His friends couldn't stop talking about how cute his little self was.
"Guys Stop It! I don't want you making a scene!" Danny argued, quietly.
"Aww, look… He's getting embarrassed" Putzie cooed.
Danny's cheeks were turning pink!"Guys, Stop It! I'm the tough leader, remember" Danny snapped.
"Of course you are" Kenickie said."But, theirs no need to get cranky over this".
Danny glared at Kenickie."Cut it out! I mean it! Being Little is not the real me!".
All of the sudden, Danny started to feel this force pulling him into his little state.'No, please. Not here… not in front of all these people. I'm already embarrassed enough' Danny thought to himself as he slipped into his child like state. Then, it happened. Danny slumped down to the ground from his seat. The guys looked under the table to see… Danny laying on the ground in a fetal position. Kenickie, now felt guilty. How was he supposed to get Danny home now?!"Oh no. I think we've done way too good of a job, guys" Kenickie said."You started it" Doody told him."Doody, please. I already feel guilty enough" Kenickie told him."Yeah, Doody" Putzie agreed."Although it is his fault that we got involved in it"."Not helping. What are we gonna do" Kenickie wondered.
Danny put his thumb in his mouth and started sucking on it."Well, we have to bring him home. We can't just leave him here" Sonny said."I know" Kenickie sighed."I just don't know how with all these people around"."Let's just get him out under the table. Get him on his feet and walk him out" Putzie suggested."Yeah, you're right, Putz. It's probably the best thing to do. I can't believe I started to pressure him into talking and talked to him like that in public. Come on, let's just take him home".
"And prey not to get embarrassed" Doody added."Yep" Kenickie sighed.
Doody and Putzie quickly helped Danny back in his seat, and got his thumb out of his mouth. The guys stood up while Doody and Putzie held onto Danny's arms… and quickly got out of there and into Greased Lightning. On the way back to Danny's house, Danny fell asleep. He didn't wake up until they got back."Look. He's waking up" Putzie pointed out. The rest of the guys turned to look at their leader. Danny groaned."Ugh. What happened? Why am I in the car?".
"Danny. I am so sorry. We all are, but I started it. I'm really sorry" Kenickie apologized.
"What are you talking about" Danny groggily asked. Then, he instantly remembered.
"Oh. That. Back at the Frosty Palace. That's fine, just don't do that again" Danny told him.
"I won't do that in public again. Trust me" Kenickie said. Danny looked at Kenickie.
"Hey, Kenick's. Do you mind if I take Grease Lightning out for a spin for a bit. I need to clear my head"."Sure Zuko, go on ahead" Kenickie replied."Just be careful"."Sure thing. Thanks" Danny thanked."Do you wanna be alone?" Kenickie wondered. Danny nodded."Yes. I wanna be alone, Kenick's".
