Chapter 9 Everything Has Changed
Kenickie and Danny woke up with a start. Both of them panting. Kenickie turned to look at the older boy."Are you okay, Danny" he asked. Danny looked at him as if he was about ready to cry and nodded. Kenickie immediately went to comfort him."Hey, it's okay. I'm here. It's gonna be okay" Kenickie soothed him as he stroked his hair."No! It's not gonna be okay! You dreamed of her, too! It's over, Kenickie. For the both of us" Danny said, sadly. Danny started to cry, softly. Kenickie sighed."Danny, look at me" Kenickie said as he lifted up Danny's chin, so he could look at him."It is NOT over, okay. I will fix this for the both of us… I promise" Kenickie promised. Danny nodded."I hope so, Kenick's. I really hope so"."Hey, lets say we get together with the guys today. We can hang out" Kenickie suggested.
Danny nodded again."Just don't embarrass me like that in public again, alright" Danny told him."Sure thing" Kenickie agreed. Later, Kenickie and Danny got together with the rest of the T-Birds."Anyone wanna go to the Frosty Palace?" Sonny wondered. The rest of the guys agreed."Theirs just one thing I like to say first" Kenickie said."Sure, what is it?" Putzie said."Well, you know how Zuko been having these nightmares" Kenickie started. The guys nodded. Kenickie looked at Danny and Danny nodded."Tell them about her" Danny mouthed. Kenickie continued."Well, he's been dreaming about this lady for a long time, now, and… she thinks she's his mother and last night… I dreamed about her as well. We were in the same dream together".
The rest of the guys looked at Danny."What's this lady like" Doody asked."Well, she has long, black, messy hair. She also wears a dirty old nightgown. She can be… creepy. She also has a husband" Danny explained."How come you dreamed about her, Kenickie" Putzie wondered."I don't know" Kenickie answered."Alright, guys. Let's go". With that said, the T-Birds went down to the Frosty Palace. Kenickie just couldn't stop thinking about the lady while they were at the Frosty Palace.
Now, Kenickie wasn't talking that much this time either. Danny noticed this."You thinking about her" Danny asked him. Kenickie suddenly looked at Danny."Huh?" Kenickie said."Oh, yeah. I just don't know how to get rid of her"."Now you know how I feel" Danny added. Kenickie agreed."Yeah. If I knew how to get rid of her. I would certainly try". Kenickie sighed."Sorry, guys. I need some alone time", and with that, Kenickie got up and walked out.
The rest of the T-Birds just looked at each other. Kenickie was now just standing outside, getting some fresh air. Danny soon came right outside, after Kenickie."Hey, you alright, Kenick's" Danny wondered. Kenickie looked at the older boy."Oh, I don't know, Zuko. It's just… everything is changing now. I'm just wondering if I'm her new child". Danny put a hand on Kenickie's shoulder.
"I don't know, Kenick's. But, it's possible since you're dreaming of her now, too".
"I don't even know her name. When we're sleeping tonight, I'll try to find out" Kenickie told him. "Good luck. I've been dreaming about her for 16 years and I still don't know her real name. You've only dreamed about her for a day or two" Danny said.
"Well, you are her official child. I might not be her official child yet, so I could still try to find out".
"Come on, lets go inside. The guys are probably wondering about us" Danny said. Danny and Kenickie started to walk back inside."Hopefully the place hasn't got torn down, yet" Kenickie joked.
Authors Note: I know, I know… another short chapter. I hope this was an okay chapter. Kenickie will find out the lady's name in the next chapter. I know theirs a lot of the dream world in this story. But theirs a lot you can do with the dream world. Next Chapter!
