Chapter 14 Here Goes Nothing
That Night the T-Birds decided to try the meditation."So, we're really gonna go through with this?" Doody asked."We gotta" Kenickie said."For me and Danny. Well, mostly for Danny". Kenickie looked at Danny."Ready Zuko?"."Yep. Lets get this over with" Danny said. The T-Birds all sat in a circle."This better not traumatize me" Putzie added. Danny looked at his youngest friend."Don't worry, Putz. I wouldn't let that crazy lady lay a finger on you… Besides, it's me she wants… and maybe Kenickie, but mostly me" Danny reassured him."Come on. Lets do this" Sonny cried. The T-Birds closed their eyes and started to hum the same note. Their they sat, humming, breathing… clearing their minds.
This went on for five minutes, then… everything went dark. The T-Birds appeared deep in Danny's subconscious mind."This is it?" Putzie wondered."This is it" Danny said. The T-Birds got up off the ground ."What do we do now" Doody asked."COME ON OUT, LORA" Kenickie shouted. Lora Banks appeared in front of them."Well, well, well, isn't it the T-Birds here to stop me from taking care of my children" Lora said."Zuko is the only one who can stop you" Doody told her."Danny" Lora said as she put her hand on her heart."My baby". Lora grabbed Danny's shirt, their faces close to each other."I don't think so" she cooed.
Lora and the T-Birds disappeared from the darkness and reappeared back in her world. But, Danny and Lora were gone!"Where did they go!?" Putzie exclaimed."I think I might know" Kenickie said."Where" Putzie asked."Hold on, I gotta get something first" Kenickie stated. Kenickie turned around and ran down the hall. The rest of the boys followed."Where are we going!?" Sonny asked."To the lady's secret bedroom" Kenickie answered. Doody's eyes widened."You're kidding, right".
Kenickie pressed hard against the wall and the small part of the wall moved."Follow me" Kenickie told the T-Birds. The four T-Birds went in the bed room. Kenickie looked through the book shelf to find the spell book again. He grabbed it off the shelf."Got it" Kenickie cried."Good. Lets get out of here" Putzie said."Hold on, Putz" Kenickie said as he looked through the pages."It's around here somewhere". A minute later, Kenickie found the spell."Found it". Doody, Putzie and Sonny crowded around Kenickie. Kenickie started to read the spell to the T-Birds."I am here, but now I want to be gone. Let me rise and be free. Let me be as free as the wind blowing through the trees. Let me be the rain drops falling on our heads. Let me be the gentle, soft snow flakes blowing through the wind at winter time. I want to be the twinkling stars at night. Let me be anything you desire. I am free!".
"What's this supposed to be, some type of spell?" Sonny asked."Yeah. Zuko is the one who has to read this to the lady" Kenickie stated."Lets go".
The T-Birds ran off to the bed room Kenickie thought Danny would be in. Kenickie kicked the door open. Lora turned around. Danny sat up in the crib."Murdoch" Lora growled."Your time of terror is over, Mrs. Banks" Kenickie said and showed Lora the spell book in his hands. Lora smirked."Oh, is that what you think. Oh, Cole!". Suddenly, Lora's husband appeared."Yes, honey" he said. He looked to the crib to see Danny."Hey, Daniel". Danny said nothing."Honey, take that book away from my youngest" Lora ordered. Her husband, Cole was confused, until he turned around to see Kenickie holding the spell book.
"Oh, Alright, kid. Hand it to me" he said as he reached for the book.
Cole grabbed the book and tried to pull it out of Kenickie's hands."Give it to me, Kiddo" he growled.
Kenickie smirked… he had an idea."Alright". Kenickie took the book, ripped a page out and gave the rest of the book to Lora's husband. The husband glared at Kenickie."Their you go" Kenickie said with a smirk. Kenickie looked at Danny."Zuko, catch". Kenickie threw the page and Danny grabbed it. Kenickie ran to the crib and put down the crib bars."Lets go".
Danny got out of the crib and ran off with the rest of the T-Birds."Thanks Kenickie" Danny thanked as they ran.
"No problem. You gotta read that spell to the lady" Kenickie told him.
"Then what are we running for!?" Danny exclaimed."Trust me" Kenickie said.
The guys stopped running and turned around. They heard the Lady's voice."If you boys come give me that page like good little boys, then I'll give you a nice little stuff animal". The lady and her husband appeared. Lora saw Danny holding the page."Danny, baby. Please give mommy that page" she pleaded. Danny stood up to the lady.
"You are NOT my mother, Lora Banks. I'm not gonna put up with you scaring me and treating me like a baby anymore!".
"Oh, baby. I'm sorry for scaring you for 16 years. I promise I wont be scary anymore. Now, please, give me the paper" she apologized.
Danny shook his head."No. I'm gonna end all this, so me and no other children would put up with you again".
"Just read it already, Danny" Doody said."Alright. Here I go" Danny said and held up the paper.
"Danny!" Lora scolded."I am here, but now I want to be gone. Let me be free" Danny started."No!" Lora shouted and glitched."Let me rise and be free. Let me be as free as the wind blowing through the trees" Danny continued."Stop it!" Lora shouted as she glitched again."Let me be the rain drops falling on our heads. Let me be the gentle, soft snow flakes blowing through the wind at winter time. I want to be the twinkling stars at night".
Lora screamed as she continued glitching. She walked towards Danny as he kept reading."Let me be anything you desire. I am fr-" Danny didn't get to finish reading as Lora took the page away. But, as she did... they all disappeared.
Authors Note: Well, this is the last clift hanger for the story. Sorry if it's not as long as expected. But, it is a little longer. One more chapter to go!
