After her movie with John Cena and the Rock becomes a Hollywood hit Sasha Banks pitches a web series called the Black Heart Diaries and offers Bayley the lead role based on her diary.
Chapter Fourteen – The Thin Black Line
The Rock's House, Hollywood, CA, 12am PST
AJ Styles went back to the Rock's house with Alexa Bliss who was still upset about what Kenny Omega told her about Seth. Not wanting her to go to bed angry, AJ thought it would be best just to nip the issue in the bud and get Seth and Alexa to talk about it now.
Seth was out running with Bianca and Roman but Bayley let them in, she was staying up late with Sasha who was still reading her diary with great intrigue.
"Its just a freakin diary Banks you know all this stuff already," Bayley said to Sasha who hadn't taken her nose out of the diary since she woke up from her late night snooze.
Sasha ignored Bayley and kept on reading, "Is there anything about Alexa and Seth in there?" AJ Styles asked Bayley.
"Are you kidding? I have several entries about how much Seth hated you back in the day Bliss. He thought you were dumb, he thought you were weak. He did think you were cute though but he thought you had the personality of a rotten apple," Bayley said and Alexa felt her heart stop. AJ hugged her tight.
"Sorry I asked," AJ said regrettably comforting his date. "The reason I asked you Bayley is because Kenny Omega mentioned a list that went round rating all the female wrestlers. Seth voted Alexa as having the worst personality saying she was "bulimic", is there anything in your diary about that?"
"Actually yeah but not from Seth, I said all that stuff," Bayley said.
"We both did," Sasha Banks added and now AJ felt even worse. "Seth was just quoting us when he wrote that," Sasha switched back through the diary and found a very old entry. "See it says right here, "Alexa Bliss is a bulimic b****, I don't know what Seth sees in her. He thinks she's cute?! What's cute about throwing up every night after training? Maybe he'll change his mind after I show him this photo of her hurling in the ladies' bathroom,""
"So Seth was just repeating what you two said. No wonder you guys hated each other so much," AJ Styles said. This was all years before he was working for the company and it was good that it was no longer true. Sasha and Bliss had come a long way since then, mostly because of Seth and their mutual respect for the changes that had taken place in all of their lives since Seth got his Gift from God. Even Bayley had warmed up to Bliss now that she was back in the circle of friends and Alexa was relieved that Seth was more the victim of coercion and not an actual bully. Given his history with mean beautiful women that totally lined up for her, what didn't quite make as much sense to Bliss was that fact that he thought she was the cutest out of all the women in the locker room back then.
"I know it's totally irrelevant now that you're married but if Seth thought I was cute why didn't he ask me out on a date?" Alexa asked Sasha who shrugged.
"He didn't wanna be the guy dating the bulimic chick I guess. I actually don't know, maybe you should ask him when he gets back from his run with Bianca and Roman," Sasha replied still with her head in Bayley's diary.
"I can answer that question," Bayley said putting her hand up. "Seth was super shy back then. He never talked to anyone but us and the Shield. If he thought a girl was hot, she would have to go out of her way to get his attention because he would never make his feelings known. Does that answer your question Detective Bliss?"
"Actually it does, thanks Bayley," Bliss replied with a smile. "I can't wait til DX give you your job back because when you get back in the ring, I'm gonna kick you're a** for what you wrote about me in that diary of yours,"
Bayley laughed, "That's all in the past Alexa, plus I would totally kick your a** I'm still a better wrestler than you ever will be," she said confidently.
"Do you think DX will ever give you your job back?" AJ Styles asked Bayley.
"If I get Bayley a job out here in Hollywood she might never have to wrestle again," Sasha said finally putting the diary down.
"A job in Hollywood, what are you talking about?" Alexa asked Sasha as she sat down with AJ Styles.
"This diary is amazing; it chronicles all of our journeys through Bayley's eyes. I think it would make a great web series," Banks explained.
"You mean like on Netflix?" AJ Styles asked curiously.
"Yeah but not with actors, with us," Sasha said pointing to herself, Bayley and Bliss who looked at each other in shock.
"What?!" Bayley and Bliss said at the same-time.
"Yeah, it would be called "The Black Heart Diaries" and tell the story of an NXT Superstar who's in love with her best friend and how she goes nuts trying to get him to love her back and then finally comes to her senses and restores her relationship with everyone she used to try and get him.
Sounds great am I right?!" Banks said excitedly.
"It actually does sound cool, I mean we are all good now so it's not like anything bad would ever come of it," Alexa Bliss said.
"Exactly we are all good and I think the fans would love it. So even if DX never hire Bayley back she'd still be a huge star because the series is all about her and the story would be told from her perspective with us all playing our respective roles in her tale," Banks said. "If you guys are into it I'll run it passed Seth when he gets back and if he's okay with it, I'll run it by John Cena and Rocky and get their take on it," Banks got to her feet, "I think if they all go for it we could film it right here in this house," she said, "I really need you guys around plus I need something to occupy my time while I'm carrying this baby. Also I think it would be a great way to prove that the issues between me and Bayley are truly over,"
Alexa looked at AJ, "What do you think about Bayley's diary being a web series?" she asked him.
"As long as Seth's okay with it I don't see the harm, does he know everything that's in there though Bayley? There's nuthin' in there that would knock him for six is there, he knows all he needs to know right?" AJ asked Bayley who fell silent. "Bayley, does Seth know everything he needs to know right there in that diary or is there something that he does know that you haven't written down yet?"
"AJ relax we don't have to include everything from the diary. Whatever we agree on will have to be okay for all of us, we don't use anything that makes Seth or any of us feel uncomfortable," Sasha said sensing Bayley's discomfort at answering AJ's question.
"Well then the show's already lost its hook; if you take out stuff then you're editing her life. You have to include everything or its not a real diary is it?" AJ Styles argued and Alexa Bliss nodded. "So answer the question Bayley, is there anything that you haven't written down yet that Seth might need to know about before you agree to blast your diary out into the world for mega consumption?"
Yeah, that I love him and I want him to marry me after he breaks up with you Bayley thought to herself but she kept her mouth shut and continued to avoid the question. "Let's just take this thing slow guys. First Sasha has to run it by Seth, until that happens this conversation is pointless," Bayley replied.
"You're right, but I sure am excited about this!" Sasha said and Alexa smiled.
"I kinda am too, it is a very interesting story with a happy ending!" she added but AJ Styles was less supportive. He thought that Bayley wasn't being as honest as she was letting everyone believe and he hoped Seth thought long and hard about signing his name to this web series that his wife wanted to create to celebrate the restoration of her lifelong friendship with Bayley.
Meanwhile down in Santa Monica Bianca Belair was trying to convince Roman to run with her and Seth all the way from Malibu beach. The Big Dog's cardio was good but it wasn't good enough for th of the WWE.
"I can't believe I can run faster than you, come on Roman!" Bianca said but the Big Dog was pretty happy with his running ability.
"I don't have the be the best at everything like you," Roman said crossing his hands over his chest stubbornly as Seth and Bianca ran ahead of him.
"Are you pouting again?" Seth asked him critically.
"I am not pouting," Roman said with a huge pout and Seth and Bianca ran ahead and left him. "Leave me behind why don't cha!"
Seth and Bianca made it to the Rock's house leaving Roman in the dust.
"I really think something's going on with Roman but I don't know what," Bianca said to Seth as the Architect hit the buzzer.
Bianca's trail of thought was soon interrupted by the sound her husband's voice resounding through the Los Angeles airwaves as Roman came burning up the hill with Montez, Angelo and Charlotte Flair.
"What the Hell took you so long dude?!" Seth asked Roman and the Big Dog pointed at Bianca.
"Why don't you ask her, she's been taking my spot ever since you started being her mentor.
My running was fine until she came along," Roman said accusingly and Seth hugged E S T.
"Why are you being so mean to Bianca, Roman that's not like you," Seth asked his Shield brother as Bianca smiled at her husband's sudden appearance.
"Good to see you Montez," she said lovingly and she noticed Charlotte Flair's hair. "Not so nice to see you Flair. Where'd you get that hairstyle?"
"From my dad, he is the most stylish man in pro wrestling after all," Charlotte said her diamonds glistening in the night's sky.
"So it was your daddy's idea to put the diamonds in your hair? You are such a liar. Like you never lifted that hairstyle directly from mine, Hunter was right you really are intimidated by me aren't you? First you try to take my husband away from me, now you're trying to take my style too. Why can't you be satisfied with just being Charlotte Flair?" Bianca said as the gems in her own hair glistened.
"Why can't you guys just be friends?" Montez said with a shrug. "Baby you know Charlotte's not trying to take me away from you, that's just for TV. You can still be friends in real life, in fact, why don't you and Charlotte go for a run by yourselves?"
"Without Seth, are you crazy? I can't do that I'll kill her!" Bianca said and Montez frowned while Roman rolled his eyes.
"You can't do anything without Seth can you?" Roman said darkly.
"What is your problem Roman? Maybe you're the one who can't do anything without me, you're acting like a child right now," Seth said.
"You're just mad because I'm a better runner than you are," Bianca said.
"But you're not a better runner than me," Charlotte said. "Let's prove who truly is the better runner right now, just you and me,"
"I love it!" Montez said getting excited.
"Here's a better idea Charlotte, why don't you go back to your hotel and leave the run for another day? I really think you guys need some space right now," Seth said and Charlotte shrugged.
"Fine, come on Montez let's go, last one back from South Central is a rotten egg!" Charlotte said and she ran with Montez to the west side leaving Bianca horrified.
"South Central?! She's gonna get killed if she goes to Compton with my husband, I've gotta stop her! Charlotte wait come back!" E S T said and she ran after Charlotte Flair leaving Seth with a huge smile on his face.
"At a girl E S T," he said before turning to Roman who was still pouting. "We gotta talk, you have been off all day Roman what is with you?"
"Why does she have to hang around with you all the time?!" Roman asked.
"I'm her mentor!" Seth yelled.
"It looks like more than that to me!" Roman said. "She combs your freakin hair!"
"Do you want to comb my hair?" Seth asked Roman sarcastically.
"I would love to comb your hair but you never ask me to do anything for you anymore. All you care about is Belair and she's getting in the way of our friendship!" Roman said. "My running was fine until she came along, women aren't supposed to come between friends Seth but that's exactly what she's doing. I want you to spend less time with her,"
"Right now Roman I don't care what you want. You're right, Bianca is closer to me than you are right now and I'm sick and tired of you interfering in what God is trying to do in her life and in mine. If combing my hair makes Bianca feel more connected to me then so be it, it is perfectly okay to be close to a woman without things getting sexual," Seth said and Roman fell silent. "Roman did I say something wrong, why have you stopped talking?"
Seth realised that he had touched a nerve.
"I didn't mean to upset you Seth, I'm just worried about you that's all. You've come a long way I just don't want to see you screw things up," Roman said but Seth had already tuned Roman out. E S T was right; there was definitely something going on with Roman, he just didn't know what and he had to ask the one woman that did.
"I'm going to catch up with Bianca, if you throw a fit I'll ban you from this house and I don't care what your cousin says about it, I refuse to let you pout your way through life," Seth warned Roman who huffed and stormed off into Rocky's home. "You're acting like such a brat!"
"Seth what's going on out here?" Sasha called to her husband as Roman bolted into the house like he had fire tied to his tail. "Can you come here for a second? I want to talk to you about Bayley's diary,"
"I'll be right back babe I just want to ask Bianca a question about Roman. I think something's going on with him and only Bianca will know what it is," Seth said and Sasha nodded as Alexa ran out to give Seth his prayer shawl.
"Here take this it'll bring you back faster," she said sweetly and she kissed Seth on the cheek with a broad smile.
"What's with you Bliss?" Seth asked his former Maid of Armour.
"Nothing I just never knew how cute I was until I heard it from you," she replied and Seth nodded.
"So you've been reading Bayley's diary too huh?" Seth said and Bliss nodded.
"I just have one question, why didn't you ever ask me out back then?" she asked Seth.
"Can we talk about this later? I really have to talk to Bianca about Roman, I'm starting to worry about him," Seth replied.
"The Big Dog? Please. You're going to be a father soon Seth, if you can't handle Roman's temper tantrum how are you going to handle your son's?" Alexa said.
"I just wanna know why he keeps getting on me for spending time with Bianca. Its getting awkward and I really need to get to the bottom of this, I have a feeling this is more than just another one of Roman's temper tantrums," Seth said and Alexa shrugged and ran back inside leaving Seth to find out the answer to the Roman problem via the one person who he trusted the most these days.
