Chapter Sixteen – Deep Cleanse
Sugarfish, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, CA, 8pm PST
Dr Kendrick Alexander chewed her yellowtail sushi happy with the taste of her favourite meal and the company she was keeping. As reluctant as she was to leave Harvard and go on a date with someone she had only seen wrestle on TV, it turns out that Finn Balor had great taste. The Harvard scientist liked Kenny Omega a lot; he was funny, he was attractive and he had a very dark sense of humour. In other words he was exactly what she needed to take her mind off of her ex-boyfriend Hayworth Helmsley who had already moved on. Alexa Bliss did her hair which was combed to the size in a sea of loose curls and she was wearing a white blazer over a simple black pencil dress with red suede stilettos and matching lipstick and nail polish.
Kenny Omega knew he was going on a date with a doctor but he had no idea how attractive that doctor was going to be. As she spoke she realised how smart she was and the fact that he made her laugh meant their date didn't drag and the sushi kept on coming. He didn't feel the need to cut the date short and duck out to meet up with friends later. Miss Alexander was the best date he'd had in months and he'd been on a lot of dates.
"Well I've never met Hayworth Helmsley but I gotta thank him for breaking up with you Kendrick," Kenny said taking a sip of his drink. "If you guys were still together, we wouldn't be eating sushi together in Los Angeles,"
"I love your hair Kenny. I love a man who knows how to take good care of himself. I'm a scientist so good health means a lot to me and you're one of the healthiest looking people I've seen in awhile," Kendrick said. "What's your secret?"
"Surrounding myself with people I like and getting rid of the people I don't like," Kenny Omega replied simply. "People like Seth Rollins,"
Kendrick raised her eyebrow at the mention of Seth's name. "You know Seth Rollins?" she asked intrigued. "How do you know Seth Rollins?"
"The wrestling world is a small world. I've known Seth for years but because we work for different companies we've never occupied the same space. I'd like to keep it that way," Kenny Omega said malevolently.
"I know Seth is really close to the DX family but he's super nice. Why don't you like him?" Kendrick asked Kenny.
"It's complicated and I know you're a smart lady but you don't understand the wrestling business. I wouldn't want to bore you with my history with Seth Rollins," Kenny Omega said.
"He's got history with Finn Balor too; does it have anything to do with the fact that he got Finn kicked out of wrestling for almost a year over his affair with Hunter's wife?" Kendrick asked curiously.
Kenny chuckled, "Yeah I'd love to see him try that s*** on me," Kenny said with hostility. "I'd break his back in two,"
"Wow you really don't like him do you? I understand how you feel, I really hate the DX family.
They're so close, they would do anything for each other. They make me sick," Kendrick Alexander said maliciously. "At first I really liked them I even shared my secret invention with them. I wanted to share my success with them but they don't care about anyone but themselves. When I become the world's most famous scientist and I win my first Nobel Peace Prize, it'll be at their expense,"
Kenny smiled, he liked what he was hearing and he listened intently as Miss Alexander leaned forward and spoke to him quietly.
"I'll let you in on a little secret Kenny Omega," she said leaning across the table, "I'm going to destroy DX,"
"This is the best date I've ever had," Kenny said touching his heart affectionately, "I don't have any secrets Kendrick, everyone knows I hate Seth Rollins but now that I've met you, maybe we can help each other out,"
"Why do you wanna destroy Seth? He's super nice and he's going to be a father soon," Kendrick wondered.
"He'll sell that child out just like he sold out Dean and Roman, I couldn't care less about Seth's family. I just want him to know who the greatest wrestler of all time truly is because it sure as Hell isn't him. His wife is a better wrestler than he is and I'd hate to give the Boss a headache but somethings are more important than making everyone happy and I plan on making a lot of people sad Miss Alexander, are you with me?" Kenny Omega vowed.
"Sounds like we both have strong drives to prove how great we are. How about this; if you tell me why you hate Seth, I'll tell you if I can help you out. If not then I'm sorry I don't want any of your plan to destroy Seth Rollins. I like Seth and I want him to be happy. I'll only help you if you can give me a good explanation as to why you want to take him out," Kendrick Alexander said.
"How about I show you?" Kenny Omega said and he slid his cell-phone across the table towards Miss Alexander. Kendrick picked up the phone and clicked into Kenny's video gallery. "There's a clip of my NXT audition and the feedback I got afterwards, check it out,"
As Miss Alexander watched the clip she saw Triple H congratulating Kenny Omega on a successful audition. Then the video followed Kenny out of the audition area to the parking lot where he was approached by Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. They both congratulated him on his audition.
"What are you guys talking about?" Miss Alexander asked Omega.
"Roman and Dean were telling me about their idea for the Shield. They said I would fit in perfectly. The following week I got a call from Hunter telling me they decided to go in a different direction and that I would not be offered a contract to work for NXT for the foreseeable future. When I asked Hunter what changed his mind, he said Seth Rollins told him that I was out in the parking lot sucking up to Roman and Dean and bragging that I had already been signed and that I was looking forward to working with them in NXT. That wasn't the case but Hunter believed him and so my dreams of working in the WWE were dashed to a million pieces because of that lying, no good, son-of-b**** Seth Rollins," Kenny explained.
"Whoa that's low but how long ago was this? I'm sure Seth would never stop you from working in the company now, have you spoken to Hunter recently about working for DX Inc?" Kendrick asked Omega.
"Kendrick you're missing the point; Seth Rollins lied to Triple H so that the third man spot in the Shield went to him. That's the most Fugazzi s**** a wrestler could do to another wrestler and Hunter knows nothing about it," Kenny said.
"So what do you want Seth to do, tell Hunter that he lied and that you weren't sucking up to Roman and Dean in the parking lot? I'm sure he doesn't care about stuff like that," Kendrick said but then she remembered how upset Hunter got when he was the last person to know about Seth and Sasha getting married. "Maybe he would get upset if he knew the Truth. Are you going to tell him what Seth did to you?"
"The Truth won't cut it, I've got to create so much trouble for Seth it'll make Hunter wish he never hired him in the first place. Is what I've told you enough for you to join forces with me to take Seth down?" Kenny asked Kendrick who thought about it while wiping soy sauce from her lips.
"You know what I would really like Kenny?" she said softly with a smile.
"What?" Kenny asked her intrigued.
"I'd like DX Inc to hire you and replace Seth Rollins so that he can spend more time with his wife and child. Maybe you could change things for the better and make the world a better place like I am with my super spiders. It will spare Seth the pain of having to see the mighty DX fall before his very eyes when I destroy them for taking everything that made me happy away from me. Then I'll be the talk of the science and military defence world and you'll be the talk of the wrestling world. I'll work with you on that, I just don't want you to do anything to hurt Seth personally," Kendrick said and Kenny Omega shook his head in disbelief.
"What is it with women and Seth Rollins? Is there not one woman walking this entire planet that isn't in love with him?!" Kenny said and he flipped over the table causing Miss Alexander to flinch with fright. "I really thought we had a good thing going but your warm fuzzy feelings for Seth Rollins are unacceptable. This date is over,"
Kenny Omega left the table turned over and walked out of Sugarfish leaving Miss Alexander with the bill and Kenny's cell phone.
"Well that was a waste of a Saturday night," she said with a deep sigh and she called Finn Balor from Kenny Omega's phone. "Hi Finn its me, you're never gonna believe what happened on my date tonight,"
"Kenny for flip sake I told you how important this date was, all you had to do was keep the crazy scientist lady busy while Alexa keeps her from knowing that she gave her mutant spiders to Hunter. What did you do to screw things up so badly?" Finn said not realising that it was Kendrick Alexander who had called him, not Kenny Omega.
Kendrick hung up her face white like snow. Triple H had her spiders and Alexa Bliss and Finn Balor had tricked her into thinking they had her best interests at heart and set her up on a date with a deranged sociopath to hide the fact that they had stolen her beloved spiders and given them to DX.
Alexa Bliss and Seth Rollins were tight so he must have known about this or maybe he even put Alexa up to it, or so Miss Alexander reasoned in her now warped and wrathful mind.
"Kenny wait up!" she said setting the table upright and then she ran after the Cleaner. There was a mess that had to be cleaned up now that DX had been exposed and Kenny Omega was just the man to help her do it.
She caught up with Kenny and touched his arm gently before he got into his car. Kenny turned to face her clearly annoyed at the way the date had ended. "Let's finish what we started, come on there's plenty of sushi left. Let's eat it together,"
"So you're no longer a member of the 'I heart Rollins' fan girl club?" Kenny asked her derisively.
"No Kenny, I am now officially a member of the 'I hate Seth Rollins' club," Kendrick replied and she kissed Kenny Omega in the parking lot sealing their deal with a warm embrace in the cold California night.
