Chapter Twenty One – Winter Soulless
The Ortons, Manhattan, New York City, NY, 8pm EST
Trish and Randy Orton prayed over Alexa Bliss putting their hands on her shoulders they asked God to restore her body to its full health. A few seconds later Trish removed the Valentine's Day eye patch Bliss was wearing to prevent being traced to make sure her eye was back to normal. After seeing that it was fine she prayed for a cloak of invisibility.
"Lord I ask that you give Alexa Bliss invisibility so those trying to find her who wish to do her harm will not see her. In Jesus name we pray. Amen," Trish said and Randy took Shawl and opened the prayer cloth wide and draped it over Alexa. Seconds later she was invisible.
Remi, RJ, the A Twins and Finn Balor gasped. "Where'd Alexa go? Did Beth Hardy Transcend her?" Angelo Jericho asked the Ortons who shook their heads.
"What are you talking about I'm right here," Alexa said but no-one could see her. The prayer shawl seemed to move by itself as Alexa wrapped Shawl around herself. "Can you guys not see me?"
"No we can't see you, you're a living breathing John Cena!" Randy Orton said and Alexa Bliss re-appeared and showed Randy her offense to that comment.
"I take offense to that Randy," she said while everyone marvelled at what had just happened.
"We can see you again," Finn Balor said coming up to Bliss and touched her head to make sure she wasn't a hologram. "God gave you another Gift, He must really like you Bliss,"
"God loves her that's for sure but He also needs her to be protected and since we can't all be together at the same time, giving her Invisibility is the next best thing," Trish explained. "All you have to do is learn how to control it,"
"Its like a light switch, you should be able to turn it on and off," Randy explained and Bliss nodded.
"So I don't have to wear the heart-shaped eye patch anymore?" Bliss asked the Ortons and the nodded. Trish handed the eye-patch back to Remi who took it from her mother-in-law.
"Thanks for helping out Bliss, she was really in trouble for a minute there Remi," Trish said and Remi nodded.
"No worries mommy Trish. Do you know why Miss Alexander is trying to track Bliss down like a criminal?" she asked Trish.
"She found out that the spiders are back in the possession of the DX family. Nice one Balor," Trish said giving the Irishman a look of disapproval.
"It wasn't my fault I thought it was Kenny calling me I didn't mean to give away the whole plan," Finn said.
"It's okay Finn you didn't know," Alexa said forgiving him.
"This is why God calls us to His work and prepares us with Gifts. With assignments like this we cannot afford to make those kind of mistakes. Bliss could have lost more than her eye, she could have lost her life. Those mutant trace bugs are deadly," Randy Orton said and Alexa Bliss exhaled to stay calm.
"Thank you so much Angela Jericho, if it wasn't for you I'd be in such a mess," she said to Angelo's twin sister who smiled at her beatifically. Alexa turned to her brother, "Did you know anything about these trace bugs?"
Angelo rubbed the back of his head nervously. He had been selling Smart Dogs in New York City while Hayworth attended business meetings. He had no idea Miss Alexander had taken the break up with Hayworth so badly as to actually hurt the person assigned to protect the DX family, specifically from her. He thought all Alexa would do is stop Stephanie McMahon Hardy from getting the jewels back, he didn't realise her life would be in danger from a very talented scientist and bitter ex-girlfriend of his business partner. He felt partially guilty for what happened to Alexa at Harvard earlier today.
He didn't have any idea thing were going to go so wrong so quickly while he was in New York with Hayworth.
"The trace bugs were created as part of the special weapons and tactics package for the Pentagon, along with Blinky, Summer and Justice. They were harmless, all they did was trace people, Miss Alexander's obviously decided to use them for evil. That was not part of the original plan though.
I don't have the Gift of Prophecy like the Ortons but I'd say the DX family is in a lot of trouble right now. If Miss Alexander uses those bugs on DX, there's no telling how much trouble she could get Hayworth's family in," Angelo said and he walked over to Alexa Bliss and put his hand on her shoulder earnestly. "I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you today. I am truly sorry my science partner nearly took your life, if there is anything I can do to make it up to you I'll do it,"
Alexa Bliss nodded, "Don't worry about it Angelo, your sister did more than make up for your absence, now I have this cloak of invisibility, I've never felt better so please don't feel bad," she said to him graciously and Angelo breathed a sigh of relief.
Angela's face lit up at the interaction between Alexa Bliss and her twin brother; she really liked Alexa Bliss. Finn Balor noticed it too and he also knew that Angelo was one of the men on the list of eligibles for Alexa Bliss to date. There was another guy called AJ who also liked Alexa and it was clear to the Prince that AJ Styles had some stiff competition when it came to winning the heart of the Blissful One.
"The bugs can be deactivated. If you want me to do it I will, just tell me what you're planning so I can tell Hayworth I might have to be elsewhere this week," Angelo said to the Ortons.
"No that won't be necessary. New York City is our town and we aren't going anywhere," Trish Orton replied confidently. "God assigned Alexa the Great to DX and she is well equipped to protect them. Our children will be with her to give her all the angelic assistance she needs. You go back to being a millionaire before you turn 21 years old Angelo. Alexa will be fine without you," Trish nodded to Angela Jericho, "but not without you. You need to go with Alexa to Florida too,"
Angela Jericho smiled enthusiastically, she was planning on spending the week with Aurora and the 3Cs but spending time with Alexa Bliss was a fine alternative.
"Miss Alexander is on her way to Florida right now to confront DX. I suggest you get going," Randy Orton said to RJ, Remi, Angela and Alexa.
"Let's go guys," Alexa said unwrapping Shawl and they jumped on the prayer shawl and flew out of the window to the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Angelo was sad to see her go but at least he could spend more time in New York with Hayworth now that there was no need for him to go back to Harvard right now. "You guys wanna have dinner with us?" Randy asked Angelo and Finn Balor. "I'll call Hayworth to see if he wouldn't mind eating with us instead of MacKenzie,"
Trish held her stomach in laughter, "Yeah right, like Hayworth's gonna pass up a date with MacKenzie to eat dinner with you losers,"
"Well you call him then, it will sound better coming from you. He'll be okay spending the night with us as long as two beautiful women are present," Randy said to his wife.
"We're talking about Charlene MacKenzie here, wild horses couldn't pull Hayworth away from her," Angelo Jericho said. "They've been getting on really great, I say it should just be the four of us,"
"Okay make yourselves comfortable," Randy said heading into the kitchen while Trish went to get Finn and Angelo something to drink.
"Nice jacket," Angelo said to Finn Balor who popped his collar on cue.
"Thanks," he said. "Nice everything,"
"I didn't exactly inherit my father's fashion sense," Angelo replied referring to his father Chris Jericho.
"Well that's another thing you've got going for you," Finn replied thinking how attractive and young Angelo was.
"This can be an opportunity for us to get to know each other better, all I know about you is that you're the person who slept with Hayworth's mom. Surely there's got to be more to you than just being an Irish stud," Angelo said.
"Coming from a 20-year-old Harvard student with his own business being an Irish stud doesn't sound so impressive," Finn said.
"Well we have one thing in common: we're both single," Angelo said and Finn nodded.
"That's true," he replied and he hoped for AJ Styles' sake, one of them would remain single for a long time.
"I can't believe you're single though Finn, girls must throw themselves at you all the time," Angelo Jericho said.
"Yeah but I tend to go after the married ones like Joanie Helmsley and Bianca Belair. I guess you could call me the Charlotte Flair of the Bullet Club," Finn Balor joked.
"Speaking of the Mademoiselle of Muscle, you might want to make that a reality," Trish said to Finn Balor handing him and Angelo a drink.
"I was kidding I don't really go after married women," Finn said.
"I know Finn but if you show interest in her it might help take her husband battle the very deliberate attempt of Charlotte Flair to seduce him. If he focuses on you instead of Charlotte, it could actually help this very awkward situation between them right now," Trish said. "Just make it clear to her that you're playing a role and that you're not really interested in her, otherwise she'll break your jaw. If Montez sees you flirting with his wife it will create just the right amount of jealousy to take his mind off of Charlotte Flair and that will upset the Queen's wicked winter plans,"
"I'd do anything for Bianca, she's the best and she's a great workout buddy. My abs have never been sharper," Finn said showing Angelo his abdomen in a gesture of bravado. Angelo Jericho leaned in for a closer look.
"I've never seen such sharp definition," he said impressed, "again, I don't understand how you're single,"
"I guess it's hard to feel single when you've got a twin sister," Finn said referring to Angela Jericho. "Is she at Harvard too?"
"My sister's not really into higher education. She's much more into fashion but she could come to Harvard anytime she wants. We're equally smart," Angelo replied.
"Wow you Jericho twins have really got it all haven't you?" Finn said impressed but Angelo didn't agree. As far as he was concerned he didn't have anything until he had Alexa Bliss by his side and hopefully Finn could help him make that happen before the end of the year. Like so many people during this season Angelo did not want to enter the New Year by himself.
