Chapter Twenty Two – No Trace
Performance Center, Orlando, FL, 9pm EST
Lita got a message from Trish to stay in Orlando and try to convince Shawn not to leave for dinner yet. That was easier said than done as Shawn and Hunter had been preparing for a week of TV programming and they were exhausted. Trish told Lita that they all had to stay put and not go out for dinner. Lita knew better than to ask Trish why they couldn't leave the PC yet and told The Truth that they trusted her. All Lita had to do was snatch the candy out of her husband's mouth as Shawn tended to gorge on sweets when he was hungry and there was no food around.
"Shawn no more M&Ms you've had enough to last a lifetime," Lita said. "I would say let's go workout but you've been at the PC all day,"
"Can we at least go for a walk?" Shawn asked his wife as Hunter ran through the last of their paperwork. He had no intention of hanging around until 10pm, after he was done going through everything in the office he was going home to his wife who had been at the Sandbox for awhile now without him. He planned on making love to her for a very long time and Trish and Randy were not about to get in the way of that. His marriage was his priority now that he knew the Truth about what happened between Chyna and Finn Balor in New York and he was not going to let the Ortons put his well laid plans to bed, again. As far as the Game was concerned the only person going to bed was him and Chyna and if Shawn and Lita had any sense they would do the same.
"Guys its winter do you know what animals do in winter? They hibernate, that means they stay in bed and they don't come out for months. Why the Hell do Trish and Randy want us to stay at work all day when we could be in bed with each other?" Hunter said his Degenerate brain being turned all the way up to its maximum level of indecency.
"Hunter will you please at least try to focus on something besides sex?" Amy said.
"I've been working all day Amy its hard not to want to go to bed to my beautiful wife when I've been starting across from Shawn's ugly mug all day," Hunter explained.
"My mug is not ugly, it says "I love Jesus" and that's beautiful!" Shawn said picking up his Jesus mug proudly.
"I was talking about your face!" Hunter said annoyed and Amy took the cup away from her husband.
"No more coffee for you HBK," she said then one of the DX assistants showed up.
"Shawn and Hunter there's a tall lady here to see you, she says her name is Miss Alexander," the assistant said and DX exchanged glances.
"Let her in," Hunter said before checking on Blinky, Summer and Justice that were locked up safely in the office. "This must be what Trish and Randy was warning us about, she must have found out that I got Blinky, Summer and Justice back,"
"So why are we letting her in the office?" Shawn argued but Miss Alexander was already at the door before Hunter could change his mind.
"Miss Alexander what brings you to the Performance Center? Have you come for a tryout?" Hunter asked her while Amy stood by her husband on guard.
"I do better with my brain than my body Hunter," Miss Alexander said her face was tight and unfeeling. "I think you know why I'm here. I came to get my spiders back, where are they?"
Hunter gulped; it had been awhile since he had been so scared of a woman and he was glad Amy was in the room since Joanie was at home patiently waiting for him to come home to her. Miss Alexander looked like she wanted to punch him in the face and while he knew that she couldn't fight, he knew she had a way with little creatures that was way worse than physical strength.
"Okay its true, I took the spiders back but only because of what happened to Sasha Rollins in New York City. After what you did to her I didn't think it would be wise to let Blinky, Summer and Justice stay with you any longer. I figured you needed a little more time to get over my son first. I don't think a woman as unstable as you must have been to do what you did to Sasha should be in possession of three of the deadliest spiders in the world," Hunter explained.
"If you think I'm capable of that what do you think I'm capable of now that I know you used Alexa Bliss and Finn Balor to trick me into losing my spiders?! Those creatures belong to me, I found them, I researched them and I have patented them for the US military. They cannot be in anyone's possession but my own, I suggest you hand them over before I show you just how deadly I can be!" Miss Alexander threatened Hunter who looked at Amy expecting her to do something but the Anointed One wasn't moving.
"Amy what are you waiting for do something!" Hunter said to his best friend's wife.
"I can't do anything you stole the spiders Hunter. Technically I should be defending her against you," Amy said.
"What kind of wife are you Amy?" Hunter said appalled.
"I'm sorry but the spiders are hers, you just got really attached to them when she was dating Hayworth. I can't defend a thief," Amy explained.
"I'm protecting them from her," Hunter said. "You said she's unstable that's way more serious than being a thief! I'm their rightful owner, she just wants to experiment on them and turn them into monsters!"
"They're my monsters and I can do what I want with them," Miss Alexander said and she shoved Amy to one side incurring the wrath of the Anointed One as she did so.
"Is that reason enough for you to step in? She just touched you so get Indignant on her already!" Hunter said as Amy's red hair started to flicker above her head. Her Righteous Indignation had been activated. Miss Alexander looked at Amy in fear as her eyes burned red and she was hot like fire.
"I suggest you leave right now," Shawn said with his hands back in the M&M jar.
Miss Alexander fell back in fear and she fled the room leaving the DX family alone. Hunter and Shawn shared a hi-five as Amy's Righteous Indignation abated.
"Well done Big Red, now she's gone can we finally get something to eat? I'm starving," Shawn said chomping on a handful of M&Ms.
"Give me that!" Amy said snatching the jar. "Let's go Hunter we're not eating without you,"
"No you kids can eat I'm going home to my wife," Hunter said putting his paperwork away.
"Okay we'll walk you out," Amy said still on guard and she text Trish and told her what happened with Miss Alexander.
"Kenny Omega, what about him?" Amy said reading Trish's reply and the Cleaner appeared in front of them. Miss Alexander stood next to him apparently getting her bearings back and Amy and Shawn realised that they were a couple.
"What are you doing here Omega?" Shawn asked the NJPW mainstay.
"I'm here for a job. Are you guys hiring?" Kenny asked DX who shook their heads.
"No we're not. You had your tryout Kenny and you blew it. If we wanted you we would have contacted you already," Hunter replied looking at Omega suspiciously. "but something tells me that you're not here for a job," he nodded to Miss Alexander, "what are you doing here with her?"
"About that tryout, you might wanna ask your boy Seth Rollins what really happened the day of my tryout. It will make the next few minutes a lot easier on you if you give me a second chance," Kenny Omega said and DX folded their arms offended.
"How about we give you a few seconds to get out of here?" Hunter replied tersely.
"Don't say he didn't warn you," Miss Alexander replied and Omega handed her a box.
DX looked at it suspiciously and before she could open it Amy stepped forward and blocked her hand.
"Okay we'll give Kenny another tryout but if you open that box the deals off," she said and Miss Alexander smiled.
"You got a deal," she said to Amy and she locked arms with Kenny Omega.
"I'll see you guys first thing tomorrow morning for my tryout," Kenny said and he left with the crazy scientist lady and the mysterious box.
Amy blew a sigh of relief before turning back to DX.
"I don't wanna give Kenny Omega a tryout he's an arrogant jerk. Why did you make a deal with Miss Alexander over that box?" Hunter asked Amy confused.
"Trish said to make sure Miss Alexander did not open the box," Amy replied and Shawn and Hunter looked at each other concerned. "Trish said she's super mad at you and what she had in that box was going to cause DX Inc some serious damage. Giving Kenny Omega another tryout was the only way to keep that box closed,"
"But that also means that we have to hire him no matter what," Hunter said annoyed. "I don't like being strong armed by people outside our business and I don't want Miss Alexander influencing our decisions around here,"
"You don't have a choice Hunter. Whatever is in that box is more dangerous than freakin Kenny Omega. Just give the guy another tryout, what's the worst that could happen?" Amy said.
"You're missing the point babe," Shawn said. "If we start bending to the will of Hayworth's ex-girlfriend we'll never be able to get any work done around here. We'll be too distracted about what else she's going to force us to do,"
"So you know what that means don't cha?" Hunter asked Amy who nodded that she did. "We have to get that box,"
Suddenly Remi and RJ Orton and Angela Jericho swopped in on Seth's prayer shawl giving the Michaels a pleasant surprise.
"Kids, what are you doing here?" Amy said hugging Remi, RJ and Angela and Alexa Bliss became Visible.
Hunter gasped, "Bliss where did you come from?" he said as Alexa rolled up Shawl.
"I'm assigned to you remember? I came to help you with the crazy scientist lady," Alexa replied.
"She forced me to give Kenny Omega another tryout. How the Hell did they even meet?" Hunter asked angrily and Alexa gulped not wanting to give Hunter another reason to hate Finn Balor.
"That's not important, what is important is that I'm here to help you," Alexa Bliss said.
"Miss Alexander had a box and your mom said to make sure she didn't open it. Do you guys know what's in the box?" Amy asked RJ.
"Mutant trace bugs," Remi and RJ replied in unison and DX and Amy frowned.
"Huh?" they replied puzzled.
"Don't worry about the box, I'll make sure she doesn't open it. You don't want those bugs getting out," Alexa said and Amy, Shawn and Hunter exchanged weary glances.
"I think we should tell everyone to stay home tomorrow. Something tells me Kenny Omega's tryout is not going to go very well at all," Hunter said belligerently and Alexa Bliss nodded. There was no way Hunter was going to hire him no matter how good his performance was. It was a good thing Alexa the Great was there to handle the fallout.
"Let's lock up and go home. Come on guys you're staying over at the Sandbox tonight, we'll get something to eat on the way," Shawn said to Remi, RJ, Angela and Alexa.
"So much for making love to my wife all night," Hunter said angrily. Miss Alexander and Kenny Omega had made him lose his appetite, so he called Seth Rollins to ask the Architect what was going on between him and Kenny Omega that was ruining his evening plans all these years later.
