Second Decision

She was surprised by what she heard, very surprised, maybe even shocked. So she asked herself dozens of times if she heard right. He, Vongola tenth's self-proclaimed right-hand-man, storm guardian with the biggest temper of them all. He! He said her first name?! He knew her first name?! This was too much for her brain. The whole time he's been acting weird and it got weirder each second that went by. What the hell is going on with him? What was he about to declare? She could already see it coming. From his behavior she could already predict what he was about to do. He was Gokudera after all. And she knew him for so long that she already understood almost everything of him. At least that's what she thought. But after all this time wouldn't it be pathetic if she didn't knew him well? So well that it almost scared her. But she had to accept everything about him.

"I'll listen to what you have to say." She tried to answer calmly and looked straight into his eyes. She tried to mentally prepare herself for everything that will come wondering what it was. After a small pause in their conversation he finally took a deep breath to stay calm.

"I... I'll take responsibility for what happened to you." He said seriously and took her hand into both of his' with his head faced down. "I will stay by your side and protect you." So it was as she thought. Even if he was such a jerk sometimes and just mean to her. He had a caring side after all and he really seemed to feel responsible for that little scar on her forehead. He was always like this. Whenever he thought he needed to he'd get serious and even put his life on the line. But this time he didn't have to. He can't do that and she couldn't make him do that. If so she'd also feel responsible for holding onto his life like that. This she absolutely can't do no matter how much she actually wanted.

"I really appreciate your feelings... But that is not necessary. It's not your fault I butted in on my own." She put her other hand onto his' and smiled with a very understanding expression. It's only true. It's not his fault. She was the one who interfered. She was the one who couldn't stand still any longer. Even if she was weak. She just couldn't stay away while seeing her precious friends getting hurt. That's why it's okay. "It's okay. You really don't need to."

"But-" He stopped when he raised his head and looked into her earnest eyes. He tried to think of words to say. But that moment felt like it didn't any words and he also couldn't find a word to say so easily.

"It's really okay..." Haru repeated and lifted her hand to pat his head. His silver hair felt nice and silky and gave off a faint but nice smell of shampoo. That stupid-dera. She thought. Sometimes he really can be super cute. She smiled and took away her hand from his head when she felt that he still had something he wanted to say.

"Haru, I want to st-" Suddenly he door was slammed open and two little kids came in running towards Haru's bed interrupting the storm guardian when he was about to tell Haru what was on his mind. He immediately let go of her hand and turned around to face them with a sour look on his face.

"Haru, Haru!" They screamed ignoring him. The two of them walked past the storm guardian then jumped on her and hugged her as if they haven't seen each other in ages.

"Lambo! I-pin!" Haru laughed and patted their heads. "You two are too big now to sit on the bed with me." Unwillingly the two of them climbed off and joined Gokudera by taking a seat on his laps.

"Oi!" He yelled and hit those two lightly on their heads with his fists. "Like she said, you're not that small anymore."

"But Bakadera is strong right?" Lambo snorted with his hands on his head holding the place that's been hit. "You will be able to do this either way Lambo would be really disappointed in you!"

"Geez." He sighed and gave in resting his hand on their heads. Lately those two stuck really close to him now that everybody is busy with their studies and stuff. Only he and Haru who never really needed to learn too much had time for them. That's why Gokudera and Lambo had become close friends. Even though they still argue like always the atmosphere around them had changed to a more peaceful one. "Fine."

"Yeah! And feel sorry that you didn't take us with you to Haru!" The little cow boy added as bossy as always. "This is your punishment!" As the two of them faced each other in a staring competition I-pin and Haru continued to have a normal conversation.

"How have you been, Haru?" I-Pin asked the girl who giggled by the view of those three on one chair. The two kids on Gokudera's laps really made a cute match. He kinda looked like a big brother or a dad making her wonder how good of a dad he will be in the future. Suddenly the image of her and Gokudera in a sweet loving home with a child popped up her mind making her feel embarrassed. Why did she suddenly think of that? She shook away that thought as fast as it came and held her red cheeks with her hands. "Haru?" I-Pin repeated as she didn't receive an answer and seeing how weird Haru acted.

"I'm feeling really well now!" Haru answered quickly with a big grin when she was thrown back into reality. "I really want to get outta here very soon either way I could die from boredom." She sighed and crossed her arms in front of her chest.

"But now that we're here it's not boring at all!" Lambo shouted cheerfully with his hand held high.

"Yeah, you're right." Haru agreed and clapped into those hands of his making his face sparkle in excitement.

"Will you read this storybook for us?" I-Pin asked shyly and took out a small book of her bag.

"Yeah, Bakadera is bad in reading books." Lambo added and got pinched in the cheek.

"You!" Gokudera said quite angrily but let go of the cow boy's cheek and patted his head.

"Of course!" Haru answered "But first." and grabbed an apple out of her fruits basket. "Here, Goku-Daddy! Please make more bunny-shaped apples!"

"What!?" Gokudera almost shouted and looked at her with quite the surprised eyes. Goku-Daddy? Their nicknames got weirder and weirder. Really. Did he look like a daddy with those two on his lap? He wasn't even old enough to be their dad. He was about to say something back at her but he was disturbed by the excited kids on his laps.

"Oh yeah! Lambo wanna eat bunny apple!" They grabbed his sleeves and struggled a bit making him getting quite unstable on the chair.

"I-Pin too!" I-Pin said and looked at Gokudera with her puppy-eyes making him getting weak.

"Fine, then wait a sec." He gave in and took the apple from Haru's hand and cut it. While eating Gokudera's Bunny Apples they talked and the whole day went by without anything more that happened.

The next day was a holiday. So everyone else visited Haru in her lonely hospital room. She had good news to share with everyone but only one person wasn't there to visit her.

"They finally realized that my condition was fine so they said I can get outta here tomorrow." She laughed and high fived with Kyoko. "That's all I wanted to say. So would someone tell me where Gokudera is?" Everyone was here only Gokudera didn't come to see her. That's unusual because he was always the one getting dragged with by the others and never came on his own accord. The day before he did came but alone but this day he surprisingly wasn't hanging around Tsuna.

"He caught a cold." Tsuna answered and scratched the side of his cheek shyly.

"That guy really wanted to come but his condition was very weak when we met up so we made him stay home." Takeshi explained and tried to mimic Gokudera amateurly but still managed to make Haru laugh. Was that a lie? They're saying that HE really wanted to come but couldn't. Would he really want to come? She wondered. Well whatever. It's not necessary for him to come nor is he obliged to come.

"I see..." Haru answered after giggling a bit with a touch of sadness in her voice. "Too bad." For a moment she was surprised about what she said and asked herself why she would feel kind of sad all of a sudden, but she only shook the thoughts out of her head and geezed while taking one of the candies that they brought. "Will you guys be able to come tomorrow?" She asked chewing the candy in her mouth to little pieces.

"Sorry, I have to attend a seminar tomorrow." Kyoko apologized with her hands clapped together.

"It's okay." Haru just shook her head and smiled slightly.

"I can't come too." Tsuna said with a tone of guiltiness in his voice and the others signalized her that they won't be able to either by shaking their heads and showing her a sad smile.

"It's fine. I will manage somehow." She formed a victory sign with her right and grinned at them hoping she could ease their minds. "I am a strong woman. Because I'm a Vongola after all! That luggage I can carry as it's eating a piece of cake!"

"I think you got that idiom wrong..." Tsuna mentioned and scratched the side of his cheek shyly.

"Now that I say it." But Haru just ignored his words and faced to Kyoko. "I'd really love to have some cake now. We should go there sometime after I got outta here."

"Yeah, we totally should!" Kyoko giggled. "Did you know? They have a new cake!" She began and they talked about cakes for 1 and a half ours leaving the guys sitting there and listening quietly. Lambo and I-Pin fell asleep somewhere along the way after he chased her through the room for quite a while.

In the evening they left Haru alone again and went home. Even though she felt sad when they were gone again. But she was glad that they were visiting her and spend their time with her. It's pretty boring here after all and there's nothing much to do. That's why she appreciated them staying here with her. Still she couldn't help but feeling kinda lonely and bored again. So she began to read the manga that they brought for her to kill some time. After that she was eating her hospital dinner and then she read a little until she fell asleep fastly without realizing that a certain someone entered her room a few minutes after she fell asleep.

"Good, she's already sleeping." He smirked at the funny face she made and brushed some hair off her forehead after taking a seat next to her bed. "I wonder what you're dreaming about." He whispered and grinned slightly staring at her face for a while but then he took a book out of his bag and watched over her as he learned.
