Disclaimer: I don't own X-Men, only some oc characters.

This story takes place in X-Men The Last Stand, so please don't bash me. I know it's basically the worst movie in the franchise, but it kinda gave me the idea for this story.

I have my own idea on how to solve the big pile of hot garbage that is the X-Men movie timeline.

Warning: This story contains themes like depression, attempted suicide and child abuse.

(Night time)

(Boston)

Our story opens at an abandoned church in Boston where many mutants were gathered to discuss a new mutant cure that had recently been announced.

Among these many mutants was a young boy around eleven years of age who looked to be of East Asian descent with pale skin, messy black hair and dark eyes wearing a black hoody, black gloves, black jeans and black sneakers.

The boy sat behind an old piano which blocked him from seeing any of the other mutants and vice versa.

He kept his head down and had his hood pulled up. He listened as the adults spoke, jolting awake from near sleep each time someone shouted.

He knew that there were more children in the church in their own respective hiding spots, but he didn't feel like talking to them, he wasn't much of a crowd person.

He paid a little bit more attention when he heard his mother shout at the older mutant that had been doing most of the talking, saying that humanity wanted to exterminate them.

This woman was Kwannon or Psylocke as she was now known. What most people, apart from a select few did not know was that the name, Psylocke, was used by two previous women. One of which was her mother, the original Psylocke(X-Men Apocalypse) and the other was her older sister who was known as Revanche(X-Men Origins Wolverine) before she died. It didn't really seem to matter much as Kwannon didn't have a very good relationship with either women.

The boy never asked much as he didn't feel like it was any of his business, hell he didn't even know his mom's real name because she said that it was just a slave name.

He was brought out of his thoughts when he felt a rough tap on his shoulder. He looked up and saw that it was his mother.

"Listen up Brat, there are two guys here that wanna see what you can do, come show them." said the woman in a board tone.

"Oh, okay..." answered the boy with an unsure nod before getting up to follow the woman.

They approached a group which consisted of his mom's teamates, The Omega Gang or whatever they called themselves even though none of them were above class three and two men he'd never seen before, must've been the guys his mom was talking about.

His mom's friends, he didn't like them even if he'd known them for most of his life, that just made it clear to him what type of people they were, but atleast he knew them, atleast there was that.

These two new guys though, an older, more regal looking gentleman that radiated an aura of power and had a presence that seemingly made him tower over everyone in the church and a younger guy that looked like someone you didn't wanna mess with and had a bad attitude to boot.

The two men seemed pretty unpredictable.

"My name is Magneto and this young man next to me is Pyro, what would your name be my dear boy?" asked the old man politely.

The boy was about to answer when his mother interrupted him.

"His name is Byron Braddock, he's my kid." answered Psylocke in a board tone like before.

Magneto's interest was piqued.

"And what is the boy capable of?" asked the master of magnetism curiously.

Byron looked unsure before his mother nudged his arm slightly.

"His body can produce, conduct and absorb electricity and lightning." said Callisto, not allowing the boy the chance to speak for himself.

Magneto smiled slightly at the boy.

"I can do many things with metal, can you show me your gift?" asked the master of magnetism as he levitated a coin infront of himself.

The boy once again seemed unsure before his mother pushed him forward.

He briefly looked at Magneto and then at the coin before a blade of lightning formed in his left hand and he gave a vertical slash which cut the coin in half.

Magneto looked pleasantly surprised by the boy's ability.

"How would you like to join The Brotherhood Of Mutants young one?" asked the old man with a smile.

The boy lowered his head slightly, his lightning blade dissapearing, knowing that he had no choice.

"It would be an honor sir." answered the boy while nodding with confidence that he didn't truly feel.

Pyro gave an impressed nod and Byron felt a few pats on the back from some of the older mutants.

Magneto walked over to the boy and put a hand on his shoulder.

"You're the future of our race young man and we're all counting on you to lead the rest of the young ones around here to a brighter tomorrow for mutant kind." said the old man with a look of pride on his face.

The master of magnetism let go of the boy's shoulder and walked away from the boy to continue talking to some other mutants.

Byron turned back to his mother and saw her threatening gaze which made him shudder.

"Can I go lay down for a while?" asked the boy in an unsure tone.

The woman's facial expression softened.

"Yeah, fine, just be ready to leave in a few hours." said Psylocke before walking her own way.

The boy stood in his spot for a few more moments before going back to the piano to lay down and get some rest.

Hope this chapter made enough sense and I hope you return for more.

Should Byron eventually be saved by the X-Men and go to the institute or should he go out into the world on his own?
