Chapter 2

Emilie's appartment - a week later

Eventually, Lea and Emilie spent a lot more time together. They hid their relationship to their friends, as they weren't really ready yet. They feared too much questions, jokes... or even judgement. But, besides from that, they were caring very little, always looking for an opportunity to meet back at the Villa of Terror, or any scheluded place for that matter. They were living their love happily.

Yet, Emilie was wondering. Each time she logged out, she was thinking heavily to herself. She kept having this feeling, this wish inside of her head : if only she could... "show" how much she loved Lea. She was remembering this day, when she tried to fondle her breasts. That was making her weird, aroused, almost perveted each time... When she slept, she was always thinking about Lea, about how, if she were human, soft her skin would be. How cute her moans of pleasure would sound. How happy her face would be after the act...

One day, after an almost sleepless night, too busy thinking about it, she had an idea. "A very dumb, risky, weird and awkward idea..." she kept repeating herself : Lea is an Evotar; Satoshi and Sergey know how she was made. They even created the world of CrossWorlds entirely. Maybe, just maybe, they could... "help her". Emilie was pondering the question a hundred times in her head, making all sort of scenarii of how it would turn out : the best, and the worst...

But today, she felt this burden she carried every night too heavy to bear. Using the last bits of her dignity, she turned on her computer, not to play CrossWorlds this time, but to call someone.

[Emilie] : ... [deep sigh]

[Emilie] : O-ok...

[Emilie] : Je... je me lance...

Emilie makes the call, her hand shaking. The phone rings. Emilie has second thoughts, she hovers her mouse to the hang up button. But, Sergey answers.

[Sergey] : Hello Emilie!

[Emilie] : A-ah?! E-err, h-hey Sergey!

[Sergey] : ... Hum, how are you?

[Emilie] : F-fine! Very fine! A-and you?

[Sergey] : I'm... doing well.

[Emilie] : I-I hope I'm not interupting anything...

[Sergey] : On the contrary! I just wrapped up some work and was taking my break.

[Emilie] : A-ah? Euh... P-parfait!

[Sergey] : Indeed. So, what can I do for you?

[Sergey] : Do you wish to talk about something in particular?

[Emilie] : Err... Y-yes. It's, hum... something I'd like to tell you.

Emilie takes a time to build her question, while Sergey tilts his head intrigued.

[Emilie] : It's... something... c-concerning... Lea too...

[Sergey] : Ah! You two are dating right?

[Emilie] : ... q... quoi?...

[Emilie] : C-comment tu-... H-how do you know?!

[Sergey] : Oh! Hum, oops... I shouldn't have said it like that...

[Sergey] : W-well hum, last time, I logged into Lea's account real quick, because I wanted to ask her to come help with our research.

[Sergey] : And, hum... I may have saw you two... kissing?

Emilie stares at Sergey with a face of embarassement and disgust.

[Sergey] : Y-yes. I know it's a bit weird and awkward.

[Sergey] : Well... not just "a bit"...

[Sergey] : But, know that I made sure to not tell anyone and logged out promptly, so I could call Lea after.

[Sergey] : I didn't wanted to pry too much and I haven't asked Lea about it either.

[Sergey] : I'm... very sorry if that offends you.

[Emilie] : ... I-it's... fine... D-don't worry...

[Sergey] : Thank you Emilie.

[Sergey] : So, was it the thing you wanted to tell me then?

[Emilie] : ... H-huh?

[Emilie] : Oh! Errr... N-non...? Hum...

[Sergey] : ... Is... there a problem between you two?

[Emilie] : Oh n-no no no! It's... going very well!

[Emilie] : I love her very much and she does too!

[Sergey] : Ah! I'm very happy for you both.

[Emilie] : It's, hum...

Emilie cracks nervously her knuckles, looking down, searching even more her words. Sergey gets more confused, but politely listens.

[Emilie] : I-it's going ... m-maybe... "too" well?...

[Sergey] : ... Ah?

[Emilie] : ... We're... kinda... stuck... i-in fact...

[Emilie] : B-because... we would... like... to...

[Emilie] : G-go... f-further...

[Sergey] : ... Oh...

[Emilie] : ... N-not... t-too far... but...

Emilie points at her body, her chest and downwards, her face pure red, almost dying from embarrasement. Her body keeps shaking and her gaze tries to flee Sergey's as much as possible. At the other end, Sergey understood the problem and joins her hands together, pondering heavily.

[Sergey] : ...

[Emilie] : ...

[Sergey] : ... You know, it's funny you mentionned.

[Emilie] : Q... quoi?...

[Sergey] : We were speaking with Satoshi about the future of the Evotars. Because, they may now be able to live freely within Shadoon, but he always likes to think even further.

[Sergey] : He was wondering if Evotars could go to a different planet, meet other people, befriending them...

[Sergey] : And, eventually, fall in love with someone.

[Emilie] : ... A-ah?

[Sergey] : In a way, Satoshi was wondering if an Evotar could be considered... a new lifeform.

[Sergey] : A new unique kind of intelligent being who could be born, live, reproduce, age and eventually pass away.

[Sergey] : He also wondered how Evotars would interact with other human beings.

[Sergey] : Even going so far as to wonder if they would be... compatible, with one another.

Emilie retreives her awkward stare, her jaw in a constant state of dropping. Sergey sighs deeply.

[Sergey] : Yes... Satoshi never wants to stop, doesn't he?

[Sergey] : I managed to kind of talk him out of this, but I'm sure he still have the question in the back of his head.

[Sergey] : However, now I'm also curious, because...

[Sergey] : We could have a literal subject for this kind of research : You and Lea!

[Emilie] : ...

[Sergey] : I-if you agree of course. I won't force you anything.

[Sergey] : Plus, I could find a way to financially reward you for this kind of service.

[Sergey] : After all, this will be more of a research experiment more than anything.

Emilie twitches a bit.

[Emilie] : Y-you want to pay me for that?!

[Sergey] : [sighs] I know. This sounds awful in a way.

[Sergey] : But, trust me, this is not the weirdest experiment Humanity has done during it's long lifespan.

[Sergey] : And well, I beleive it's only fair that you get compensation for this kind of favor.

[Emilie] : ...

[Sergey] : But, again, it will be entirely your choice. And Lea's too.

[Sergey] : We'll have to talk to her about it as well.

[Emilie] : E-err... r-right...

[Sergey] : Would you like me to help you with that?

[Emilie] : Hey! N-never said I agreed in the first place!

[Sergey] : O-oh right... Sorry...

[Emilie] : ...

[Sergey] : ...

Emilie ponders a long time, wrapping her head around this opportunity. She could finally have the chance to give Lea a proper "thank you" for her love and rid herself of the burden preventing her to sleep. Sergey was patiently letting her think about it.

[Emilie] : ... Sergey?

[Sergey] : Yes?

[Emilie] : Will it be... just once?

[Sergey] : ... Well, it's too early to tell how the experiment will turn out.

[Sergey] : Plus, we'll still need to develop the... requirements...

[Emilie] : ... Let me fetch my CrossGear.

[Sergey] : Huh?

[Emilie] : I'm gonna tell Lea.
