Hey, this is the first story I've every write and since English isn't my first language, expect multiple grammar errors and slight(?) cringe. I'm sorry.
I don't own Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatte Iru Darou ka.
It was an ordinary day when everything happened.
On the top of the Tower of Babel, the gods and goddesses of Orario, leaders of the greatest Familia of the world, were having their Denatus, discussing private matters of utmost importance… or at least that was what the people of Orario thought.
In actuality, the gods were bored out of their minds as there was virtually nothing for them to do that day.
There were no adventurers leveling up, no abnormality happening in the Dungeon, no festivals were being held, no random attacks from the kingdom of Rakia… absolutely nothing.
Enough to say, it was a perfectly normal day for the people of the city, yet more-or-less an excruciating torture for the pleasure-seeking gods. Within the meeting room, a thick awkward atmosphere existed, slowly bored the immortal deities to death.
"For goodness sake, is there nothing for us to do!" yelled Loki, the goddess of mischief "Seriously, I'm dying of boredom here!"
"Shut up, chestless Loki! You aren't the only bored one here."
"Hey, who are you calling chestless, you dirt-poor goddess"
"Why you little-"
"Okay, moving on, let us not turn this room into a battlefield again" Miach intervened. "Anyone else has any exciting plans to do today?"
"Well, my kids just returned from our trip outside of Orario so we are just relaxing for a bit before going on another trip." Hermes smiled.
"Probably go home and do some paperwork" Takemikazuchi said "The owner of my Jagamarukun stand is having a vacation so I got some free time today".
"I'm just gonna go back home and finish my book" Hestia sighed and slightly shaking her head, making her twintails swinging "I swear the recent events make it impossible for me to relax"
"I AM GANESHA" yelled the elephant god.
"For me, at first I'm gonna go and find a new date for tonight..." Freya said, gaining the interest from the male gods, as well as the goddesses' annoyance "... but since my little stunt with Ishtar, I have too much paperwork to do to even go out" - thus cruelly crushed the male gods' dream.
"Oh, I'm just gonna with some friends and drink some rounds with each other tonight" said Dionysus.
"Well dirt-poor Miach, tonight I'm-" but before Dian Cecht could even finish his sentence, Loki yelled "No one care what all of us are going to do tonight, I'm still freaking bored to death over here".
Groans heard across the room.
"We know Loki" Hephaestus rolled her eye "we are all bored too, you know."
"Since you are all bored, how about we watch something to pass the time together" a strange new voice said.
Surprised, all the gods turned to the origin of the voice, only to find an unknown person standing in front of the door.
This new woman was a young goddess, with dark skin, purple eyes, and long silver hair, tied into twin-buns on her head while the rest fell down to her ankles. She wore a pure white robe, with a small tiara carved with the images of performers, dancers, poets, and musicians. However, the thing that alarmed the gods the most was the aura surrounding her - a silver-purple aura of pure divinity, of unchained Arcanum.
Quickly, the gods took the nearest things to them as weapons before questioning the woman before them.
"Hey, who do you think you are?" Loki yelled, holding out a coffee mug as her weapon "D-don't you know it is forbidden for us gods to use our Arcanum in the lower world".
"Young gods, so ignorant of your elders. But hey, what else could I expect from the Nordic gods" the goddess chuckled "But since you don't have any knowledge of those who come before you, let me introduce myself."
"My name is Mnemosyne, the Titan goddess of memory and remembrance" the goddess stated "... and I come here with an invitation to you and the people of this city"
"An… invitation?" Hermes questioned, clear doubt and worry in his voice.
Hearing this, Mnemosyne smiled "Worry not, messenger god, I'm not intended to cause harm to the innocent people of this world. All I wanted is to bring you some entertainment to ease your boredom"
This single sentence of her quickly caught the interest of the trickster gods in the room.
"Wait, entertainment?" the dark-skinned god Anansi questioned "How do we know you aren't tricking us?"
"Now, don't be so distrusting like that, I'm truly hurt you know" she murmured "but fine since you are all a bunch of worrywarts, I promise on the river Styx that I'm not tricking you all, are you trusting me now?"
Hearing that, the gods in the room felt some of their worries eased away. All the gods know about the river called Styx flowing across the territory of the Olympian gods, which possesses the power to hold a god's oath once they vow a promise upon its name.
Not hearing any opposition, Mnemosyne smirked "Since none of you opposed me anymore, shall we begin all watching right now?"
And before any of the gods could say anything, the goddess quickly snapped her fingers and all the people in the room disappeared in a golden flash of light.
It was a very nice and simple day for Bell Cranel.
Wake up, go to the Dungeon with his party, slaying monsters and harvest their magic stones… just the usual stuff.
However, there was something, almost like a voice, kept nagging in his mind, telling him to be prepared for something big about to come. And for some strange reason, he felt like listening to it today.
... And turned out, he should really have.
The moment he and his party came out of the Dungeon, a white flash of light appeared and blinded them temporarily, transporting them and all those around them to another place.
When he opened his eyes, he found himself and his Familia members inside a giant cavern-like room, with the ceiling decorated with images of the night sky and constellations, and the walls engraved with emblems and scenes of heroes defeating fearsome beasts and monsters.
He himself was sitting on top of a red velvet throne-like chair with golden engravings. As he looked around, he found his fellow Familia members were also in the same situation.
"Hey, Bell!" Welf yelled "Are you alright? Do you have any idea where we are?"
"I-" before he could answer the red-haired smith, an even brighter flash of light appeared and as it faded away, more people appeared in the room, also sitting in similar throne-like chairs like him and his friends. They were splitted into multiple rows, with each row having around a dozen or so people on them before being lower and lower, with the Hestia Familia members sitting near the top of the room.
These newly arrivals, both people he knew and didn't know, looked just as confused as him and his friends, as if they were also picked up by some mysterious force from their place without any explanation.
Quickly, the room exploded into a storm of argument, with everyone yelling and arguing with each other, mostly due to surprise. It was then, the bright flash of light appeared once more, and from it, the gods came out.
"Bell!" Hestia yelled as she quickly jumped into Bell's side "Oh my us, I'm so worried about you!"
"Wow, feeling loved here, my goddess" Lily grumbled.
"Yeah, yeah, love you too, Miss Supporter" Hestia brushed her to the side "You know what I mean to say"
It was then, a booming voice coming from the side of the room, as the wall in front of their eyes melted away, exposing a giant mirror "Welcome to the Multiverse Cinema Complex, gods and mortals. If you desire any food and drink, please feel free to ask the Aurae for them. Please enjoy yourselves as much as possible, have a nice day!"
"The… Aurae?" a voice called out, which Bell recognized to be Ryuu's.
"The Wind Spirits" the mysterious voice said "Just say any food and non-alcoholic drink you want and they would deliver it to you"
This particular line intrigued Bell, as his grandfather often told him stories about the Spirits being a proud race who only lower themselves to the gods. Hearing that they would be serving him food and drinks was something he could never imagine.
Now think of it, it sounded kinda ridiculous. No one would actually ask the Spirits to-
"Hmm, mochi ice-cream and matcha tea. Oh, with some sesame cookies if you could" said Mikoto on his side. Just the moment she finished her sentence, a place of food and a cup of hot Far-Eastern green tea appeared in front of her.
Perhaps sensing everyone's eyes on her, Mikoto looked up from her plate of food and looked slightly embarrassed "What? The voice said we could order whatever we want to have"
"Don't worry, the Absolute Shadow is right" The voice, which Hestia noted to be named Mnemosyne, appeared again "The spirits don't mind much, they are my personal servants and will gladly serve my guests per my order"
Hearing this somewhat made the people in the room eased by a little, many of them even ordering their own food and drinks now.
"Uhm, if you could, can you please give me some Jagamarukun and some ice tea?" Bell asked, as a plate of the potato snacks appeared in his laps, with the cup of ice tea in the holder in the arms of his chair.
"Now, since everyone has settled down, let the watching begin" Mnemosyne said.
The light in the cavern dimmed down as the giant mirror began to glow.
10… 9… 8... 7… 6… 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… Action!
And with that, the watching officially began.
