At the moonbase, Proteus was sitting on the couch in the royal outlook, watching the battle that was taking place. As he sat the door opened and Diesel 10 entered the room. As Proteus then looked coldly at the false emperor, Diesel 10 spoke to him.

Diesel 10: So, enjoying the battle?

Proteus: No. For my one and only adversity is not there. As bad it sounds, I wanted to kill that sudrain myself.

Diesel 10: ah. You mean that Thomas Billinton, correct?

Proteus: Yes. I hate him more than anything for he wouldn't let me near a single foot near Lady.

As Diesel 10 listened to Proteus's hate for Thomas, he sneered massively for there was someone who agreed with him on the true heir. As Diesel 10 then sneered, he looked towards Proteus and continued to speak with him.

Diesel 10: I know exactly how you feel Proteus. And he's one of many people that is in the way of peace, but now is missing. And I too wanted to kill him, but, alas one of our troops destroyed his mech, and he disappeared from this base without a trace. So there for, until he returns,we have no choice but to satisfy ourselves with others, instead of our target. Anyways, I must leave for the time being. Please let me know how it ends.

And so as Proteus then nodded Diesel 10 exited the room and left the prince there alone. Suddenly, as Proteus then looked at the field, he noticed a new mech that wasn't there before. Yes it was obviously one with a Gold-Dust driver, but, every single one of the shots it fired were accreite and dead on target. As Proteus saw this new blue mech, he just knew who the pilot was as he then smirked and exited the room to board his mech. As Proteus and his Visus-Posterum launched from the base, the opposing pilot and his Pax-Resistis came closer to the golden mech as he then spotted him.

Thomas: I'm coming for you, Proteus Allcroft!

Proteus: Let's settle things here and now, Thomas Billinton!

And so as the final showdown began, Thomas and Proteus both fired shots at each other as their mechs were nothing more than streaks of blue and gold as they flew about the field. As Proteus then charged up and had his mech attempt to tackle the Pax-Resistis, Thomas saw his chance to open a communication channel.

Thomas: Opening contact link, decrypting protocols. (through comm) I think I may already know the answer, but I ask anyway. Will you surrender Proteus Allcroft?

Proteus: (Sniggers) You came all this way in a new mech, just to ask me that Thomas Billinton?

Thomas: No, I actually have another objective.

Proteus: Good to hear. So don't you dare disappoint me!!!!

And so as the two princes continued to fight they eventually ran out of ammo and began to use melee weapons. As the swords of Thomas and Proteus's mechs clashed and clashed, they eventually flew past the Billinton castle where Lady watched on worriedly as she saw them. Then, when they reached back to the moon, Proteus attempted to slice the head off of the opposing mech, but before he could, Thomas deflected the attack and then threw Proteus and his mech into the moon's surface. As the Pax-Resistis then stepped upon the Visus-Posterum, Proteus smiled slightly as he then spoke to Thomas.

Proteus: (through comm) You've beaten me. Well done. Now please, finish me. I've done nothing but wrong doings and my blood is the only way to make up for it.

Thomas: Even if you asked me a million times to end you Proteus, I won't.

Proteus: (gasps) Why?

Thomas: Because if I do so, I would be breaking an oath that I swore to Lady many years ago.

Proteus: What oath?

Thomas: An oath that I would never make her cry tears of sadness.

Proteus: When did you make such an oath?

Thomas: On the day we first met... 14 years ago. When we were still little kids and on the day when we were betrothed to one another.

As Proteus took this new info in, his mouth dropped and his eyes widened, for he didn't know about this and it really shocked him. As Proteus stood silent, Thomas continued his explanation why he refused to kill him.

Thomas: Ever since that day Proteus, your sister became very precious to me, and I was determined to be who she wanted and needed as a future spouse. And even on that day when you and I first met, though I still had my childhood memories blocked, I felt a strong need to protect Lady, hence why I tossed ya back there. However, now that I'm aware of my true identity, and I've found you, Proteus, I want to give you my apology. As the prince true heir of the royal Billinton family, and as your sister's upcoming spouse, I'm sorry for not trusting you and for not seeing your intent to protect Lady. (holds out mech's hand)

As Proteus then took in Thomas's apology, he could certainly tell that he had remorse for his mistrust and did indeed want to put it right, for not just his sake, but for Lady's as well. As the prince in gold then sensed all of this, he had his mech's hand reach out to the one of Thomas's and then Thomas had his mech help Proteus's up. As the princes then were about to continue chatting, Proteus saw something on his prediction screens that made him frantic as he spoke to Thomas.

Proteus: Thomas! move to the right!

As Thomas then did what Proteus said, a massive hydraulic claw scratched the Pax-Resistis's paintwork as it missed its target entirely. As Thomas repositioned his mech, the dust cleared to reveal Diesel 10 and his mech ready to kill. As Thomas saw this he sighed in relief as he then thanked Proteus.

Thomas: Thanks Proteus. One second more and I would be a goner.

Proteus: Just doing what Lady would want. Anyway, it's not over yet. Not until we defeat the false emperor.

Thomas: Yeah. But, if we use your predictions and my knowledge on the mech we're fighting, we can defeat him.

As Proteus then nodded in agreement, he and Thomas began to fight together against Diesel 10, as he shouted in rage. Then as the battle continued, Proteus parried and sliced the claw off of the mech of Diesel 10 as the false emperor shouted at him with rage through the comm.

Diesel 10: (through comm) Proteus!!!!! You dare betray me?!

Proteus: (scowls) Do you honestly think that I would be loyal to you after you attempted to kill my sister? That I would just be a tool for your own selfish bidding?! If that's what you think, then you're an idiot!

As Proteus then permanently ended the channel, he then opened up the one with Thomas and spoke with him.

Proteus: (through comm) Thomas, in the next 78 seconds, Diesel 10 will try to fly away.

Thomas: Right!

And so, as Diesel 10 was about to fly away, Thomas fired an anchor at his cousin's mech and held him still as Proteus flew his in and punched the false emperor's. Then as Diesel 10's mech flew backwards into the base, Thomas flew his towards it and drew it's blade as he conjured up all his pain and suffering that his cousin brought to him, for one final blow.

Thomas: (scowls) This ends here Diesel 10... Goodbye my cousin!!!

Then with a great amount of speed, Thomas flew his new mech towards Diesel 10's and stabbed it slightly right of the center. As Diesel 10's mech then fell through the oxygen field and crashed backwards onto the base, the battle was won. Thomas and Proteus were the victors.
