Chapter 2

Andrea knocked on Beaver's door and nervously waited. Beaver opened the door and smiled at her.

"Hello, Andrea," Beaver said. "Come in."

Andrea followed Beaver into the house.

"Theodore," Andrea said nervously. "We need to talk."

"You're breaking up with me," Beaver said.

"What?" Andrea asked.

"I know you like Kyle," Beaver said. "It's so obvious."

"Theodore," Andrea said. "I'm so sorry."

"It's completely fine," Beaver said. "You should be with Kyle. He's your age, and he's perfect for you. I should be with someone my age."

"It sure feels like you're breaking up with me," Andrea said.

"I think we're breaking up with each other," Beaver said.

"Thanks," Andrea said.

"You're welcome," Beaver said. "Now go tell Kyle how you feel."

Andrea ran across the street and rang the doorbell. Kaleb opened the door.

"Hey, Andrea," Kaleb said.

"Is Kyle home?" Andrea asked.

"No," Kaleb replied. "He took Kevin and Kylie to Shadow Lake for the weekend."

"Thanks," Andrea said.

Andrea rushed to her car, got in, buckled, and drove off toward Shadow Lake. As she drove, she passed a sign that read "Shadow Lake – 70 Miles".

"I'm coming Kyle," Andrea said. "Nothing's going to stop me!"

Andrea suddenly stopped due to traffic. She then waited and waited. After half an hour with no movement, she noticed a police officer walking on the side of the road. She rolled down the window.

"Excuse me, Officer?" Andrea asked.

"Yes?" the officer asked.

"What's the holdup?" Andrea asked.

"Three large trees fell onto the road," the officer replied.

"How long is it expected to take?" Andrea asked.

"It may take all day," the officer replied.

"All day?" Andrea asked. "But I need to get to Shadow Lake."

"No problem," the officer said. "You can take the scenic route. Hand me your phone and I'll set it to the scenic route for you."
