Chapter 3
Kyle and Kevin sat at a fishing dock with their fishing poles.
"Why aren't the fish biting?" Kevin asked.
"You have to be patient," Kyle said.
Kyle's phone rang. He then looked at the screen to see Kaleb calling.
"Hey, Kaleb," Kyle said.
"Kyle," Kaleb said. "Andrea is…"
Kevin felt something pull on the pole.
"Dad!" Kevin shouted. "I think I've caught a fish!"
"Reel it in!" Kyle shouted.
Kevin struggled to reel his pole.
"Kyle?" Kaleb asked. "Are you there?"
Kyle dropped his phone and ran over to his son. He then helped him reel in a huge fish.
"Wow!" Kyle exclaimed. "It's a huge bass!"
"Do we eat it?" Kevin asked.
"Are you kidding me?" Kyle asked. ""The Haskell's caught a fish this big and got $50,000 for it."
"Kyle?" Kaleb asked. "Kyle? Are you there? Kyle?"
Meanwhile, Andrea drove up to the entrance of Shadow Lake. A female park ranger sat at the booth.
"Welcome to Shadow Lake," the ranger said. "Do you have a reservation?"
"Reservation?" Andrea asked.
"Yeah," the ranger replied. "We only let people in by reservation now. Some teenagers threw a rager and let's just say, it wasn't pretty."
"Wow," Andrea said. "Well, can I make a reservation?"
"Of course," the ranger said, looking on the computer. "We have an available reservation for tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?" Andrea asked. "But I need in today."
"Sorry," the ranger said. "We're all full."
Andrea looked at the ranger.
"I'm not supposed to tell you this, but I'm actually and undercover FBI agent," Andrea said. "Narcotics Division. We have reason to believe some of the other rangers may have a secret drug ring."
"Really?" the ranger asked. "Because I've been suspicious about the employees at the visitor center ever since I got this job."
"Um, yeah," Andrea said. "They're our primary suspects."
The ranger opened the gate.
"Go!" the ranger cheered. "Go serve justice!"
"I will!" Andrea cheered.
Andrea drove through the open gate.
"I cannot believe that worked," Andrea said.
