Beginning of Love

In the bright, scorching, heat morning of Egypt, there stood a tri-color haired figure, playing a flute, with two animal companions on the bank of the Nile River. Further down the bank, where Egyptian guards, who were looking side around for something or someone. The Pharaoh had decided to sneak off & relax from his royal duties, while his guards try & find him. But, mainly Pharaoh Yami had been hiding away to clear his head & thinking about something, more specifically someone.

Yami couldn't get the memory of that young teen who had saved his life & that teen's beautiful voice. Those 2 days ago, Yami couldn't get that teen out of his head & kept trying to remember what he looked like, but only came back to those breathtaking amethyst eyes. As Sky & Kuriboh tried to play with their master, Yami stood up frustratingly & walked down the river bank.

"*Sighs Irritatingly*That voice...I cant get it out of my head." Yami said, kicking some sand as he walked.

Sky & Kuriboh saw their master frustrated & both looked at each other, before going over to their master & rubbing against his legs, trying to comfort them. Yami saw this & bend on one knee, after putting his flute on his hook by his waist, & patted both of their heads.

"Thanks, you two. It's just...I've looked everywhere for him. Where could he be?" Yami questioned.

Further down the Nile River, just around a bend & some big rocks, that seem to be hiding a body, was Yugi. He laid flat on his stomach, with the water reaching up to his waist. He was still somewhat exhausted from his transformation & the amount of water he took in. Beside him resided an exhausted Rebecca, Malik, Marik, Yusei & Jack; all of them laid on rocks, all beat from taking turns carrying Yugi & trying to find the Pharaoh's home.

Slowly, Yugi started stirring & looked around to see all of his friends & brothers exhausted, but then something more important caught his attention. Yugi turned his back on the rock & slowly lifted his bottom half, expecting to see a tail & instead saw feet. Yugi lifted his foot & wiggled his toes, smiling excitingly to see it as he continued to wiggle his toes.

"I half expected to be dreaming..*Pants Gently*..guess everything was real." Marik said, seeing Yugi & his legs.

After Marik said that, everyone else began to stir as well & looked at Yugi. All of them, except for Marik, rubbed their eyes to see if they were seeing things right, only to see that they were. All of their jaws dropped, Jack & Yusei's only did slightly, & before any of them could say anything, a familiar scream was heard.

"AHHHHHHHH! You actually did it! You traded your voice & got legs!" Rebecca said, placing both of her hands on her head.

"Yeah, your right. But, that also means that Yugi has got to get the Pharaoh to fall in love with him & his gotta kiss...kiss him." Malik says, grasping the information that Anubis had said.

"But he's only got three days! Just look at him. On legs! On human legs! He can't even walk properly!" Rebecca says, motioning her hands to a sitting Yugi.

As Rebecca had said, Yugi tried to stand up on his legs. But, as he was new to them, his legs started to shake harshly & collapse immediately. Luckily, the water wasn't that deep & it only caused him to have the water reach his waist, which made him fold his legs in front of him.

"My nerves are shot. This is a catastrophe! Do you have any idea what his grandfather will say?! I'll tell you what he would say. He'd say he's gonna kill himself a mermaid! That's what he's gonna say!" Rebecca said, grabbing a scared Malik by the shoulders & shaking him back & forth.

As Rebecca had been saying, Jack turned his attention to an oblivious Yugi & Rebeca, only sighing at them. He then heard grunting behind him & turned around, no longer facing a panicked Rebecca & still scared looking Malik & Marik; who was trying to pull Rebecca away from Malik. Jack saw Yusei grabbing his head & turning around, looking to go back into the sea through the Nile River.

"What the hell are you doing?" Jack questioned, seeing Yusei turn back to him.

"I'm swimming straight home & getting grandpa to fix this mess, like I should have done." Yusei said, turning back around.

Fortunately, Yugi had heard what Yusei had said & looked at the back of his head, eyes widening. Yugi quickly stumbled, still not used to his legs & quickly catching everyone's attention, & grabbed Yusei from behind. Yusei felt himself abruptly pulled back & turned to see Yugi look at him with pleading eyes.

"Oh, no you don't. Don't put those eyes on me, there is still time to get you back to normal." Yusei said, turning his full body to Yugi.

Seeing this, Rebecca swam beside Yusei, as Yugi looked at the both of them; a begging look upon his face.

"Yusei's right, maybe there is still time. If we could manage to convince that Sorcerer to give you back your voice, you could go home & be normal again. And just be...just be..." Rebecca started saying, before faltering at the end of her sentence.

Yugi looked at Rebecca, his face slowly growing more & more sad. Tears began to welled up in his innocent eyes as he began to put his head down.

"...just be miserable your whole life." Yusei said, his voice dripping with sadness.

Everyone heard his tone & looked at him in expectancy as to what he'll do. Being the heir to the throne, Yusei had the authority to say what goes & what they have to do.

"*Sighs & Mutters*What am I doing?..." Yusei muttered, his eyes closed as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

Everyone looked anxious, especially Yugi, at what Yusei's answer would be.

"All right, all right. We'll help you find the Pharaoh.." Yusei said, his eyes open as he looked down at Yugi, who's head stood as his shoulder, thanks to Yusei sitting on his tail.

Yugi smiled brightly & hugged his brother tightly. Yusei slightly stumbled by the hug, before smiling slightly & hugging his brother back. The other watched in happiness at the display, glancing at each other in agreement, even Rebecca reluctantly nodded. They knew that the only way to save Yugi, was to find the Pharaoh & have them kiss before the third sunset.

"Boy, what a softy I turned out to be." Yusei says, still hugging Yugi.

After Yugi let go of his brother, he began to stand up again, only to have Marik grab him by his arm & yank him down back into the water, earning a silent 'ow' from Yugi. The others looked at Marik in shock, while Yusei & Jack crossed their arms & looked at Marik with a deadly glare; their postures looking for an explanation for what Marik did. Marik, who didn't care much for the glares from Yusei & Jack, slightly swam to a small boat & looked around it as he spoke.

"Listen guys. Up here, humans don't like it when other humans aren't, um...wearing the things they call, 'clothes'. It's, in a way, offensive. So for Yugi to blend in..." Marik said, still looking through the small boat.

Everyone looked in confusion & looked back at Marik as he held up a long, white button up shirt with long sleeves, to them.

"...you've got to dress like one. Got it kid?" Marik questioned, earning a nod from Yugi.

Not too far away, Yami was still walking & kicking the sand, with Sky & Kuriboh by his side. Suddenly, Sky stopped & sniffed the air, Kuriboh & Yami looked at her in confusion, before Sky barked cheerfully & started to run ahead. Not only was Yami confused, Kuriboh suddenly started to coo happily & followed Sky, almost catching up to her.

"Sky? Kuriboh?" Yami questioned.

Yami saw them still running & started to run as well, trying to catch up with his animals.

"Not bad. You looked almost normal, kid." Marik said, as he looked at Yugi with one eye closed & the other one open.

Yugi had been sitting on his knees on the sand & no longer in the water, making him dry; thanks to the scorching sun. He appeared to be wearing the long, white button up shirt with long sleeves that looked big on him that had also reached past his knees. The others looked more skeptical at the outfit than Marik.

"Really? Because, I think it could-" Rebecca began to say, before getting cut off.

The sounds of loud barking & cooing stopped Rebecca from finishing her sentence, & caused everyone to look for the sound. They saw a wolf & brown hair creatures coming from around the corner & coming towards them. All of them gasped in shock, before the 5 mer-people swam away & dived into the river, when it was deep enough to hide, leaving Yugi alone. Yugi tried to run, only to collapse, a look of pain on his face. He still had not adjusted to his new form.

Sky & Kuriboh jumped at Yugi, a friend that they considered since he saved their master, as they proceeded to lick & nuzzle him. Yugi saw this & recognized both creatures, slowly calming down. Yusei raised his head up from the water & looked to see that it looked like his baby brother was getting attacked & was about to try & help him, before he heard a voice.

"Sky?! Kuriboh?!" A baritone voice shouted, his voice from around the corner.

Jack had also heard this & pulled Yusei back to a large rock & proceeded to hide behind it.

Yami turned the corner & still heard barking & cooing. He looked to his left to see Sky & Kuriboh.

"What in Ra's name, are you two...?" Yami was about to question before he saw something, or someone.

Yami saw Sky & Kuriboh around a boy, who looked like he had fallen & couldn't get up. Yami noted that the boy, strangely had his hair, except it had amethyst colored tips, but Yami didn't care much about that.

"...oh. I see." Yami said slowly, before running to Sky & Kuriboh.

Yami then proceeds to remove both Sky & Kuriboh from the boy. As he did, Yugi heard & recognized his voice, & turned to see Yami.

(Yami! I knew I recognized your voice!) Yugi thought, a smile starting to appear on his face.

"Are you okay, boy?" Yami asked in concern.

Although, Yami didn't look at Yugi, who started to slowly rise up & sit down. Yugi pulled his legs into his chest & put his arms around his legs as he put his chin on his knees, looking at Yami with a shy smile.

"I'm sorry about these two, they usually don't act like this. They're harmless, really, uh..." Yami said, looking at the boy, only to be stunned into silence.

As Yami looked at the boy & he couldn't help, but be stunned by the boy's beauty. Yami saw this boy had a cherubic face, that made him look very young. He also noted that the boy had a lean & slim body under the button up shirt, that made him look slightly feminine. But, what Yami noticed most, was the innocent amethyst eyes that adored the boy's features.

"Have...have we met before..?" Yami asked, his eyes never leaving Yugi's.

Yugi almost looked like he wanted to answer, but quickly squashed the thought. Yugi remember that he couldn't speak, so trying to tell Yami was going to be a difficult job. Yugi then made hand gestures towards his throat, hoping Yami would understand him. Luckily, Yami did.

"You, can't speak..?" Yami said, almost sounding sad.

Yugi noticed & nodded sadly, feeling disappointed that he couldn't be able to tell Yami, who he was.

"Oh, sorry then. You can't be the one I'm looking for.." Yami said, sadness in his tone.

Kuriboh & Sky looked sad at the news, seeing that their master couldn't see that the boy was the one he had been looking for.

Yugi looked at his true love & looked to be standing up, before collapsing back down, the look of pain displayed on his angelic face. Yami saw this & gently put a hand on Yugi's shoulder.

"Are you in pain? Is it your legs?" Yami asked, worry tranced in his voice.

Yugi looked back at Yami & nodded his head. Before Yugi knew it, he was lifted up in the air & felt arms wrapped around him. Yugi looked to see Yami holding him & looking at Yugi with kind eyes.

"Well, perhaps I should take you to my palace. There, you could be dressed & bathed. I wouldn't want someone as cute as you to be left alone." Yami said, a smile present on his face.

Yugi blushed slightly by the 'cute' comment & wrapped his arms around Yami's neck, & buried his head by Yami's shoulder. Yami looked slightly shocked by this, but smiled with a slight blush on his tanned cheeks, before walking towards the palace with Sky & Kuriboh by his side.

As both tri-color boys & two creatures walked away, the five mer-people began to peek behind the rocks & rise up from the river.

"Mmmm...well I guess that worked out well." Marik commented.

"I've gotta say Yusei, you are surprisingly well calmed about every-" Malik began to compliment, before getting cut off.

Malik looks to his left to see his husband with a deadpan expression, before pointing with his thumb to something behind Marik's back. Malik looked confused, before looking behind him & sweat-dropping at what he saw.

When someone says that Yusei is the Sea's most overprotective brother, that is no joke at all. Currently, Yusei is being held back by a deadpanned looking Jack & an equally sweat-dropping Rebecca as she watches. Malik only continued to sweat-drop, before sighing.

(Oh boy...this isn't going to end well.) Malik thought, trying to ignore the thrashing Yusei behind him.

Large bubbles floated around Yugi, who was inside a tub filled with them, as he looked at them in wonder & excitement. Yugi gently tried to catch the bubble, only to have it make a 'Pop!' sound, which caused Yugi to silently giggle.

"Washed up from a shipwreck. Oh, you poor thing. I'll have you feeling better in no time. A nice warm bath always helps me with my sore legs." A female voice said.

Yugi then felt a splash of hot water coming down on his head & looked up to see the women, who had been cleaning him. He heard that her name is Tea.

He saw that she looked to be 5'5 ft & looked to be around 2 years older than him. The women had chestnut colored hair that reached to her shoulders & amber colored eyes. She also had pretty features & a touch of innocence, but very small. She looked to have a heart shaped face. He wore a white dress that reached past her knees & almost reached her feet with brown sandals. He also wore golden cuffs & a blue gem necklace that hanged a bit above her slightly-big breasts. She had a somewhat curved body with slim arms & legs. The woman seemed to have a kind & sweet personality, but a sort of stubborn & fierce attitude.

Yugi then saw Tea put the bucket of warm water down & grabbed the shirt he had been wearing.

"I'll just..eh..get this washed for you." Tea said, slightly disgusted by the shirt.

Tea then went to the bath cambers' door & handed the shirt to a slave woman. The slave grabbed the shirt & bowed, before turning away.

Yusei & Jack were swimming around the river that was halfway around the palace, trying to catch a sight of Yugi. As they continued to swim, Jack caught something in the corner of his eyes through an open window & looked to see, only to have a look of shock & horror displayed on his face. Yusei saw that Jack wasn't beside him & turned to see Jack standing still & his head towards an open window.

"Jack? What the hell are you-" Yusei was about to question, only to be cut off by a hand.

Jack grabbed Yusei's face with his right hand & made him face the open window, not once looking away. Yusei was about to yell at Jack, until his eyes caught what Jack had seen & made the same expression as him.

Both eldest brothers saw a tray filled with headless crabs, dead fish, & shrimp on a stick. Inside of the window, was a human male, who appeared to be 6'3 ft & 27 years old. The man had dark, dirty blonde hair & part of it was in a ponytail with a white bandanna around his head. He appeared to be wearing a chief's uniform & humming a tone as he chomped down, with his knife on a dead fish.

Yusei & Jack looked as if they were about to puke, before Yusei had the guts to shallow & drag a still frozen Jack away from the horror sight. Yusei looked forward, not one glance looking back.

(These humans are...barbarians!) Yusei thought, shivering at the sight of the dead sea creatures.

After 2 hours of finding Yugi & bringing him to the palace, Yami & his high priests, another childhood best friend, Ryou, & Bakura all assembled in the dining room that viewed a sight of the Nile River.

As Yami leaned up against the glass window, his cape gone & his top removed, Seto began another conversation that Yami listened to ever since he was saved.

"For the last time, Cousin.." Seto starts to say, exasperatedly.

Mahad sighed tiredly, knowing that the same argument was coming up.

"...be reasonable. Young men don't just swim around & save people in the middle of the sea. And flutter off into the sea-" Seto tries to explain, but was cut off.

"I'm telling Seto, he's real!" Yami said, annoyed with his cousin & trying to prove his claim.

"Really, Yami it's-Mana I know you're behind me, stop trying to mimic me." Seto says, to the girl behind him without even looking behind him.

The girl jumps back a little & rubs her neck sheepishly, who's name is Mana. She stood about 5'0 ft & was 18 years old. Her outfit consists of a beige shoulder-less sleeveless top with ruffled straps around her upper arm, a beige miniskirt, charmed bracelets around her wrists & ankles & a matching necklace, belt & headwear. She has brown hair that is sporadically arranged & juts downward in all directions & aqua green colored eyes. She was known not only as a childhood best friend to the Pharaoh, but also for being the apprentice of the Magician Mahad. As she is an apprentice of a Magician, she also had a magical staff that is attached to her hip. She has a good-hearted, kind, & stubborn personality, along with being persuasive & crafty.

"*Laughs Nervously*W-What, I don't know what you're talking about..?" Mana said, trying to not look guilty.

Seto turned around & only looked at Mana with a blank expression. Mana only stood in place, nervously tapping her arms & trying to not look into Seto's eyes. As much as Mana never was afraid of getting on the high priest's nerves, Seto was always the one she was mostly afraid of.

Thankfully, Yami saw Mana in distress & continued to say his claim.

"I'm gonna find this boy & I'm gonna marry him, I don't care what you say Seto." Yami says, as he looks at his cousin.

Seto rubbed the bridge between his eyes & looked to talk to his cousin again, but was interrupted by one of the dining room's doors opening & a voice that accompanied it.

"Come on, now. You look amazing." Tea reassured to a figure.

Everyone looked to see Tea, who seems to be talking to someone behind one of the closed doors. Tea saw that everyone was looking at her & she quickly bowed.

"Excuse my rudeness. It seems that the Pharaoh's guest is a bit shy." Tea said, glancing at the figure, now known as Yugi.

Yami raised an eyebrow & before he could say anything, Mana quickly walked over to Tea. Yami then heard Mana squeal, a squeal that he would hear when Mana saw something cute. Hearing that squeal, made Yami more curious about how his guest looked.

"*Squeals*Oooh, Yami is going to love this! Come on out. I promise that no one will bite." Mana promises as she puts her hand out to Yugi.

Nervously, Yugi puts his hand on Mana's opened one. Gently, Mana began to pull Yugi towards the dining room. As she did & as Yugi came to view, Yami froze in shock.

Yugi wore a light-purple strap-sleeve tunic that made an upside down V that covered his nipples & part of his upper chest, but stopped at around his waist & showed most of his skin. The top was held up by a golden choker that connected to the straps. His bottom was the same color as the top & it reached above his knees. It was held by a gold cloth around his hips. The outfit wrapped around his slim figure perfectly. His feet had sandal knee high boots. Yugi also had golden cuffs around his wrists & upper arms.

"My, my. He is a vision isn't he, Yami?" Mana teased as she brought Yugi over, who blushed at Mana's compliment.

Yami couldn't help, but blush at the sight of Yugi. Especially since the little one's innocent face & blush made him look more beautiful than before.

"You..you look beautiful." Yami complimented, a blush & smile appearing in his face.

Yugi shyly looked down as he felt his cheeks warm up, before looking up & giving Yami a shy, yet gently smile.

"Come, come, come. You must be famished, let's get you something to eat." Mahad said, as he gently grabs Yugi's shoulders.

As Mahad guided Yugi to the table, Yami kept looking at Yugi with a lovesick smile, not noticing the stares he received. Mana looked at her childhood friend with a teasing, Ryou had a sheepish smile, Seto had an eyebrow raised with a twitch in his mouth, & Bakura had a smirk on his face.

As Mahad got Yugi a chair, Yami quickly pulled the chair out & guided Yugi to sit on it, who smiled at Yami as a 'thank you'. Yami smiled back, before quickly grabbing his chair that is by Yugi's chair & sitting in it, making Yugi smile more. This action caused Mana's & Ryou's smiles to grow more, Seto to have his jaw slightly drop, Mahad to have a blush at the Pharaoh action, & Bakura having a hard time to control his laughter.

As everyone began to sit down, Yugi saw a dinglehopper & was about to pick it up, before hearing a puff. Yugi looked up to see a snarfblatt in a man's mouth. Yugi saw that this man looked to be around 45 years old & looked to be around 5'11. He wore a beige clock & seemed to have a golden eye located in his left eye-socket. He seemed to be cold & quiet. Then the man then looked at Yugi, who leaned back a bit, & watch as the man looked at the snarfblatt & looking back at Yugi.

"Do you want to try it, boy?" The man asked, already handing the smoke piper to Yugi.

Yugi eagerly grabbed it & put it on his mouth. Before the man could say anything further, Yugi blew through the smoke piper & a puff of black smoke engulfed the man's face. This caused everyone in the table to lightly laugh, only Bakura & Mana having a difficult time to not burst into laughter. Even Seto had a struggling time to not smile. The man only had a blank expression on his face, as Yugi looked guilty.

"*Tries to not laugh & clears throat*Sorry, uncle." Yami said, trying not to laugh.

Yami glanced at Yugi, to see him looking guilty, which caused Yami to take his hand & rub it gently. Yugi felt this & looked to see Yami, before smiling gently at him.

"Why, Yami, that's the first time I've seen you smile in days. Isn't it, Aknadin?" Mana commented.

"Yes*Sniffs*very amusing. Say, Tea, when will the food be ready?" the man named Aknadin asked, wiping his nose with a handkerchief.

"It should be done soon. Keith said it's his specialty, baked salmon." Tea said.

Yusei & Jack managed to recover after the traumatic experience & swam all around the palace, before seeing a window above them. The window was fairly high for them & they were about to give up, when they saw a recognizable hair through the glass. Both of them looked at each other, before nodded in agreement at each other & trying to hop up onto the edge of the window to get a better look inside.

"It's not often that we get a lovely guest, eh Yami? Perhaps he would like to see the sights of the kingdom, something like a tour." Mahad said, a small teasing smile present on his face.

But, Yami wasn't listening to a word Mahad said. Yami just kept staring at Yugi, who turned his head to look around the dining room in curiosity, with his right hand on his cheek. Yami only snapped out of his daze when he heard the sound of his plate clamping in front of him, which made him look at Mahad.

"I'm sorry, Mahad. Did you say something?" Yami asked.

"You can't spend all your time moping about. You need to get out & do something. You need to do something with your life & stop thinking about..." Seto said, almost angrily

Yugi kept turning his head to look around, but he saw the familiar face of his brother. Yugi saw Yusei grabbing the edges of the glass window & looking like he was trying to pull himself up. Yugi panicked & silently gestured Yusei to go back down.

"Easy, Seto, easy. A tour doesn't sound like a bad idea. If he's interested." Yami said.

Yugi managed to convince Yusei to go back down, just in time to look at Yami, who turned to him.

"So what do you say little one? Would you like to take a tour of my kingdom?" Yami asked, with excitement in his voice.

Yugi nodded his head, equally excited. He loved the idea of being with Yami all day

"Well, let's eat before the food gets cold." Seto said, opening his tray of food.

Everyone nodded & did the same as Seto. Yugi looked at the food & internally gasped as he saw that it was a fish. Yugi had a bit of a grossed out face, making Yami notice & tilt his head slightly.

"Do you not like fish?" Yami asked

Yugi nodded his head, meaning he didn't like fish. Yami then picked up a bowl of salad & fruit, then gave it to Yugi. Yugi looked at the food in caution, but one smile from Yami reassured him & he happily ate the strange leaves & fruit.

On the peaceful night of Egypt, Yugi stood on a balcony that stood not too high from the large river. Yugi was roomed into one of the guest rooms that was two doors down from Yami's room. Yugi's room had a comfortable bed & was very spacious. Yugi wore a long sleeve, button up pajama shirt that reached a bit past his knees.

Yugi watched the moon in delight, thinking about how well today went. Beside him, was Yusei, who had a troubled look upon his face. Rebecca, Marik, Malik, & Jack went back into the sea to try & find some food, while Yusei stayed behind. Luckily, the water was deep enough for Yusei & made him have to dangle from the edge of the balcony. Currently, Yusei was biting his fingers & talking to himself.

"Okay. So far, things are looking pretty good. But we can't let anything distract us." Yusei said, mainly to himself.

Yugi rubbed his eyes, as he turned around & began walking into his room, but not before giving a quick hug from behind for Yusei. But, Yusei didn't notice & continued to talk.

"As much as I hate it. On the ride to the kingdom, you've got to look your best." Yusei said.

Yugi only nodded, even though he was sleepy, he did continue to listen to Yusei. Before, jumping into the bed & pulling the blankets up to his shoulders & falling asleep, after he blew the candle.

"You've got to look at him &..." Yusei said, but stopped himself.

Yusei turned around to see his baby brother fast asleep. A gentle smile played on his face, before leaning over the balcony & watching his brother.

"You're hopeless. You know that?" Yusei said, before yawning.

Yusei put his arms in front of him as he laid his head in them & watched Yugi until the others came back.

Arthur had zoomed in a flash into the near dark palace, the only source of light was coming from the throne room. The entire kingdom looked to be asleep, but it wasn't. Every citizen was worried for the disappearances of the three princes & couldn't sleep.

Arthur entered & saw his friend pace back & forth, & swam to his direction. King Muto looked up at the vibration & looked to his right to see Arthur.

"Any sign of them?" King Muto asks, hope in his voice.

"No, my friend. We've searched everywhere. We haven't found a trace of Yugi, Yusei, Jack, Malik, or even my Rebecca." Arthur said, obvious sadness at the name of his granddaughter.

King Muto looked down sadly, before looking back up in a flash. A look of slight anger on his face.

"Well keep looking. Leave no shell unturned, no coral unexplored. Let no one sleep, until they are found." King Muto demanded, but his voice sounding more sad than demanding.

"Yes, sire." Arthur bowed, before taking off again.

King Muto swam to his throne, before collapsing in it. His left hand over his eyes as he wept softly.

"Oh, what have I done? What have I done?...I can't go through this again." King Muto said in complete sadness.
