Evil Coming to Play
"Nice work, boys!" Anubis congratulated as he watched Yugi & Yami falling into the water through Rex & Weevil's eyes to his crystal ball.
Anubis saw everything played out & he wasn't happy about it, not happy at all...
"That was a close one. Too close! The little-pest! Oh, that boy is better than I thought...especially with those friends with him..." Anubis started to say, obvious disgust in his voice; "Well, at this rate, those two will kiss by tomorrow!" Anubis expressed angrily.
Anubis swam upward towards a shelf with a different variety of potions. Only to have him push most of them aside, only to grab two potions & a butterfly in a bubble. Anubis then swam back to his cauldron.
"Well, it's time I took matters into my own tentacles." Anubis said as he threw everything he had into the cauldron.
All of the combinations thrown together made a giant explosion of orange & yellow smoke.
"King Muto's grandson will be mine! And I'll make him pay...writhe...I'll see him wriggle like a worm on a hook! HAHAHAHAHA!" Anubis said, as he laughed crazily.
As he laughed, the yellow & orange smoke surrounded Anubis. But, he didn't care & he transformed into something familiar to Yugi.
On the dry land of Egypt, the moon shined on a very familiar palace...
Yami was currently by a balcony that gave a gorgeous view of the Nile River & playing his flute. He played the same song that the mysterious boy played for him. Yami wanted to continue his search for him, but the...Yugi appeared. Yami wouldn't deny that Yugi was beautiful, kind, & amazing, but Yami was torn between searching for the boy who rescued him or being with Yugi...
Yami sighed as he stopped playing & rubbed his hand over his head, never noticing two figures approaching him. Yami felt a hand on his shoulder, not much startled, & turned to see both of his childhood best friends; Mahad & Mana.
"My Pharaoh, if I may say...far better than a dream boy..." Mahad started to say, only for Mana to continue for him.
"Why not be with a boy that is one of flesh & blood, beautiful, kind, caring & right in front of you...idiot." Mana said, ending at her sentence a bit playfully, before walking away.
Yami watched with a slight smile as Mana walked away with a somewhat panicked Mahad, who was shocked at what she called the Pharaoh. Yami then turned to the window that showed a bit of Yugi's room. He was Yugi, seemingly brushing strands of his bangs with his hands with a pleasant smile on his face. Yami smiled at Yugi, as he saw Yugi yawn & blew out his candle, indicating that he was going to bed. Yami looked at his flute for the last time, before throwing it into the Nile River, watching as the flute was carried away.
Yami breathed a sigh, but of relief. He turned back to Yugi's window & began walking towards it, Yami wanted to be with Yugi & no one else. As Yami started to walk, he heard someone singing.
"*Vocalizing*" A mysterious voice sang.
No words to the song, but it sounded...familiar.
Yami then ran to the edge of the balcony, trying to hear more clearly. As he did, Yami saw a shadow of a man. Yami saw that man was walking down the beach, still somewhat singing. As Yami leaned in closer, he didn't notice a yellow mist coming towards his eyes.
Suddenly the man stopped, but didn't stop singing. Instead, he looked towards Yami & the yellow mist sank into Yami eyes.
Yami's eyes turned blank, almost hypnotic...
"*Yawn*Man, am I beat! Hopefully, the humans left out some of those fruits outside in the baskets. I'm starving." Marik complained, his hands behind his head as he swam to the kitchen window.
Marik had, surprisingly, woke up first out of everyone & was obviously hungry, so he decided to grab some fruit. As he was swimming to, he heard a conversation between a few women. Marik raised his eyebrow & sank himself down a bit to hide himself, & tried to listen to what the women were talking about. What he heard shocked him & made him over-joy;
"I just can't believe it!" Maid #3 said.
"I know! The Pharaoh is finally getting married & to his true love!" Maid #1 said.
"I know, isn't romantic~" Maid #2 said, coving her blushing cheeks.
Marik had a bright grin on his face at the news. They did it! The Pharaoh is marrying Yugi! The plan yesterday worked! And Yugi was going to be saved! Marik quickly dived under the water & swam to his friends, wanting them to hear the great news. If only he heard, what the maids had said next;
"...I still can't believe that the Pharaoh met his soulmate last night..." Maid #3 said.
Yugi was sleeping peacefully, as were his friends & brothers. As was well...until Marik woke them up...
"Yugi! Yugi! Wake up, kid! I heard the news! Congratulations! We did it, kiddo!" Marik shouted, successfully waking everyone up.
Everyone groaned in exhaustion, while Yugi woke up only a bit dazed. Yugi slowly got up from his bed & walked to the balcony, only to see a weirdly-happy Marik, half-awake & half-sleepy brothers, Malik, & Rebecca. Yugi only titled his head in confusion, wondering what in the name of the sea king was Marik talking about.
"*Yawns*What in the hell are you, talking about..?" Jack asked, irritated that he was woken up.
"Well, while you lazy's were asleep, I just heard that the Pharaoh is getting hitched this afternoon!" Marik said, slightly jumping from the water.
Everyone, beside Yugi, gave him deadpanned looks. While Yugi looked even more confused.
Marik sighed, realizing they didn't know much about human culture; "You know, he's getting married! To Yugi!" Marik said, pointing to a now fully awoken Yugi.
Everyone just stared at Marik in shock. Their plan...actually worked?! Yugi was going to get married?!
"HOORAY! We did it!" Marik cheered, practically jumping up & down with his tail.
"I know! But, you guys have to get Yugi ready, I'm gonna grab us some food. But, it will be awhile, the whole town will be buzzing about the Pharaoh's wedding." Marik says, knowing that it will take longer to grab food from the shops that were near water.
"Ok, just don't take too long." Malik practically demanded, wanting his husband to be back soon for Yugi's wedding.
Marik only nodded & swam away.
While with Yugi, he stood frozen for a minute until a look of pure joy coated his face, along with a bright red blush. Yugi twirled around in a circle & leaning over the balcony, where everyone was. Before they could ask what Yugi was doing, he kissed everyone on the cheek. Yugi leaned back, where everyone was red faced & again frozen, & hurried through his bedroom doors.
Rebecca, Malik, Jack, & Yusei all had red-faces from Yugi's unexpected cheek-kiss & were primarily frozen. Only Jack managed to snap out of it, because of a recurring thought that kept going on in his head. Why did the Pharaoh suddenly say he was getting married? Jack saw how the Pharaoh acted around his baby brother; he was considerate, kind, & cared about Yugi along with his opinion. So...why did the Pharaoh suddenly say that he was getting married later this afternoon, coincidently on Yugi's last day to kiss him?
(Something is definitely wrong...It just doesn't add up...) Jack thinks, before diving into the water & swimming to follow Yugi. Luckily, the windows showed where Yugi was heading.
Yugi raced down the stairs, excited to see Yami, until heard someone talking;
"Well, um cousin...It appears that I was mistaken. The mysterious boy that you have been searching for does, in fact, exist. Congratulations, cousin." Seto exclaimed, near shock in his tone.
Yugi hid behind a pillar after hearing Seto speak & was filled with confusion. Why was Seto saying that? Yugi never revealed, not that he really could, that he was the one who saved Yami. Yugi peeked his head a bit & saw some man standing next to Yami;
He stood at around 172.2 cm (5'7.8 ft), & looked fairly buff. Yugi saw that the man had black, that was neatly arranged with a large portion flushed back & slightly to his left, featuring different layers where the sloping changes direction. He also had almost pitch black eyes to match with his hair. He wore a yellow tunic, with red bracelets & a strangely familiar blue necklace that Yugi could have sworn he had seen before.
"We wish to be married as soon as possible, cousin. This afternoon." Yami said in a commanding & flat voice.
Yugi saw Yami standing there, looking as blank as he spoke. Something was wrong with him...This wasn't the Yami he knew & love...
"A-ah, yes...of course, my Pharaoh." Seto said, almost hesitantly & turned away.
Yugi's jaw dropped & so did Jack's, who was watching through an open window. Yugi then put his back against the pillar & tried to contain the tears that were about to fall from his face, but it didn't work.
(I-I...lost. I won't be able to be w-with Yami...) Yugi thinks, as he runs back to his room. Tears pouring down his face.
Jack was still railing in from shock, until he caught a glimpse of a running Yugi. Jack immediately began to swim back to Yugi's room & alert the others that they were too late. Yugi nor Jack notice the new stranger's eyes turning red for a couple of seconds.
Anubis caught a glimpse of a crying & running Yugi, & smirked in delight. Anubis then grabbed his necklace gently & it glowed a bright yellow. His plan was working.
The sound of an Organ playing was heard from a distance. A large ship was sailing far into the distance, the sound of people's excitement rang in the air. But, this wasn't a good day for everyone, especially a certain heart-broken merman.
Yugi watched as the ship left the dock, along with Yami. Yugi wore the same outfit he did on his & Yami's date. He leaned against a pillar that was connected to the dock & slid down until he pulled his legs into his chest & began to cry.
"*Cries*" Yugi expresses, hiding his face in his arms.
Yusei, Jack, Malik, & Rebecca watched in sadness. They couldn't help Yugi & what was even sadder, was that Yugi only cared about Yami & not his soon to be fate. Yusei gridded his teeth in anger & sadness; anger for allowing some human to break his baby brother's heart & sad, because...Yugi will belong to the Sea Sorcerer. Jack was thinking how they failed & that there was no other way to help Yugi. Rebecca & Malik weren't any better; both were crying for their friend, even Rebecca.
All hope was lost...
"*Humming a Wedding March*" Marik hummed as he swam to the wedding ship.
He finally was able to eat & tried to hurry back, until he heard that the wedding was happening on a ship. Although Marik questioned why, he only shrugged & swam to the ship instead, thinking that everyone was at. As he finally reached the ship, he heard someone humming & singing to themselves.
"*Singing*What a lovely little groom, I'll make. My dear, I look divine..." A man sang.
Marik looked up & saw a window open, humming & singing still going on. The strange thing was...that humming sounded so familiar...almost like...
(T-That...that can't be..) Marik begins to think, before swimming under the small window.
Marik jumped high enough to grab the edges of the window & pulled his head up to see someone who was definitely not Yugi. He wore a long tunic that reached to his knees, golden jewelry, & this man had black hair. Marik was confused at first, until the man started singing.
"*Singing*Things are working out, according to my ultimate design..." The man sang, before throwing a knife to the wall.
Marik gulped & stared at the man in shock, along with the fear of being caught. Luckily, the man never saw Marik. Marik then heard the man sing again, except this time...the lyrics made Marik frozen in fright & shock.
"*Singing*So I'll have that little merman & the ocean will be mine~*Laughs evilly*" The man said, laughing before grabbing a mirror.
In the mirror showed the image of Anubis...Marik just stood there shocked, for who knows how long, before coming back to his senses & diving back down to the water & swimming as fast as he could to the palace, hoping everyone was there.
"The fucking Sea Sorcerer! This is bad, like really, really bad! SHIT!" Marik shouted to himself in the water.
When he came up from the water, he saw a semi-crying Yugi & sad friends. He didn't hesitant to rush over to them. Marik crashed into Rebecca, causing everyone to look at Marik in confusion. Marik saw a semi-angry Malik, but didn't pay attention to him. Marik swam in front of Yugi, even though Yugi was on the dock.
"Yugi! I w-was swimming...well I mean of course I was swimming, but that's not the point! The point is that..." Marik tried to explain.
Yugi watched Marik in confusion, while everyone else, including Malik, watched Marik in irritation. They wanted him to explain what the hell was going on.
"...The demon! The Sea Sorcerer was kin the mirror & singing with a stolen set of pipes! Your pipes, kiddo!" Marik said, pointing at a startled Yugi, before continuing & grabbing a slightly dizzy Rebecca; "Don't you guys get it! The Pharaoh is marrying the Sea Sorcerer in disguise!" Marik shouted while shaking Rebecca back & forth.
Everyone, beside Rebecca who was currently unconscious from all of Marik's shaking, gave a look of pure shock on their face at the new development. Anubis was marrying Yami?! Is that why the Pharaoh was suddenly acting weird, because of Anubis.
"Wait, wait...are you sure about this..?" Yusei asked, trying to understand what was happening.
"Have I ever been wrong?" Marik asked, before stopping himself; "Wit, forget I asked that. But, this time I'm serious! I know what I saw! It's the Sea Sorcerer!" Marik shouted.
"W-what are we going to do?" Malik asked urgently, while holding a near conscious Rebecca.
Yugi quickly stood up & walked to the edge of the deck, looking at the ship that Yami & Anubis were currently on. Yugi felt hopeless, his true love was marrying the wrong person & he could be in danger.
"Before the sun sets on the third day." Anubis' words echo through Yugi's head.
Yugi straightens his back out, before diving head first into the water. He quickly sprang back up, realizing that he still can't swim. Rebecca saw this & immediately grabbed a hold of Yugi. Everyone was thinking of what to do, before Yusei spoke;
"Alright, we don't have much time so we've got to do this quick," Yusei began to say, before pointing at Rebecca; "Rebecca, you swim Yugi up to that ship, before it's too late...I'm trusting you to protect him, Rebecca..." Yusei said, his last words filled with worry.
Rebecca nodded & pulled Yugi, who looked back at his older brother with an emotion that can't be pinpointed in his eyes. Yusei then turned to Jack & Marik, before speaking again.
"I gotta see grandpa. He must know about this. I'll be back as soon as I can." Yusei said to Jack & Marik, before being pulled back by a hand.
"What about us? The hell are we supposed to do?! You can't expect us to do nothing!" Marik said, a nod coming Jack as well.
Yusei forced his arm to be removed from Marik grip, before pointing at Marik & Jack; "You two! You guys have to find a way to stall that wedding!" Yusei ordered, before diving into the water.
Marik watched, dumbfounded on what to do; "Stall the wedding? How the hell are we-" Marik began to question, before a hand tapped his shoulder.
Marik turned around to see Jack with his arms crossed & a smirk displayed on his face.
"Do you remember how I used to sneak out of the palace & I needed a diversion..?" Jack questioned, his smirk growing larger.
Marik cocked his eyebrow at Jack, before his own smirk came on his face. He knew exactly what jack meant. Both of them dived into the water, & swam to the place where Yami & Yugi almost kissed. They both swam around, making loud splash as to wake all of the sea creatures, & flying creatures. It did the trick & every animal watched & heard as they saw Jack & Marik.
"Come on! Let's move it! We've got an emergency!" Marik exclaimed.
"Hurry up or I will personally kill all of you!" Jack threatened.
That threat did the trick & every animal swam or flew after Marik & Jack, who were heading back to the wedding.
"Hold on Yugi-bear! *Pants*We...we are almost there." Rebecca said, huffing a bit from exhaustion.
Yugi could only watch as they got closer & closer to the ship.
The sound of wedding music played as Anubis walked down the aisle. Everyone bowed in down to him as he made his way through them. Joey & Mana stood there as well, alongside Sky & Kuriboh. Mahad & Mana didn't trust Anubis one bit & they suspected him of something evil, but they didn't want their friend to be upset, especially on his wedding day, so they endured their suspicions & tried to be happy for Yami. Sky & Kuriboh on the other hand...
Kuriboh shivered at the sight of Anubis, while Sky was growling at Anubis. Sky never liked Anubis the moment he came for her master. She sensed dark energy around him & had a bad feeling towards him.
Anubis saw Sky growling at him & without anyone looking, he kicked Sky in her nose with the back of his heel, & walked away smugly as Mana heard whimpers coming from Sky & checked to see what happened. As soon as Anubis came to the front of the aisle & stood beside Yami, everyone sat down as they watched Mahad begin the wedding ceremony.
"Dear people of Egypt...we are here to witness the marriage of Pharaoh Yami & his betrothed...Yuki." Mahad began; "Do..do you Yami, take Yuki as your beloved husband...?" Mahad asked, hesitantly.
Yami was about to answer, but his lip quirked as if stopping himself. Yami looked almost hesitant.
"I-I..." Yami struggled to say, almost like he was stopping himself.
Anubis watched at the corner of his eye, shocked that the Pharaoh was able to withstand his magic. Anubis glanced at the sun, it was almost sunset, he had to make the Pharaoh say, I do. But, the Pharaoh was resisting his magic...
(Well...will see about-) Anubis begins to think, before getting interrupted by a sound of a...flock of birds?
Anubis looked up & saw a massive herd of birds coming toward him. He gaped & before he could do anything else, he was trampled by the herd of birds. And the next thing he knew, different varieties of sea creatures were aboard the ship; Sea Loins, Crabs, Starfish, & Sea-gulls.
The people were in a sort of panic & trying to move away from the animals. Mahad grabbed Yami, who was in a sort of daze, & tried to move him out of harm's way, while Anubis was dodging all of the creatures. While in the panic, Sky managed to break her leash & ran towards Anubis's back & bite on his butt. There was an obvious result by this;
"AHHHHHHHHH-" Anubis screamed, before having a butch of starfish start to attach to his skin.
Anubis quickly tried to peel them off; "Get away from me, you slimy-" Anubis started to say, before being bounced up & down by a Sea Lion.
Rebecca breathed in & out for a long time, as she & Yugi finally made it to the ship. Yugi gave Rebecca an expression that clearly said; Thank you.
Rebecca only smiled & gestured her head to the pole that was beside the ship; indicating that she wanted Yugi to climb up & go get his love. Yugi nodded & sent another smile to Rebecca, before grabbing the pole & starting to climb up it as fast as he could.
The sun was almost set...
