Saving the Day
As Yugi finished climbing up the pole & pulled himself up by the edges of the ship, he saw something he didn't imagine that he would see; humans running around in panic, sea creatures almost everywhere &...Anubis...being bounced like a ball by a Sea Lion. Yugi felt a bit of sweat-drop from seeing this, but he had other things to worry about. Suddenly, the Sea Lion bounced Anubis high in the air & let him fall, causing his blue-pyramid to crack. It was slight, but it released a yellow mist, which was vocalizing a certain someone's voice.
Yami felt his head relax & gripped a bit of his head in confusion; what happened to him? But, he didn't think too long about as he saw a yellow mist pass him, but it was vocalizing. Yami then saw it go towards...Yugi?! He saw that the mist turned into a bright ball of yellow.
Everyone on the ship gasped & turned to Yugi as well, seeing the ball of enter Yugi's throat & him smiling;
"*Giggles*" Yugi giggles, while smiling.
"Yugi..?" Yami asked.
Yugi looked to Yami, with a smile plastered on his face; "Yami!" Yugi said, happy to finally be able to say Yami's name. With his voice.
Sky ran to Yugi, while Kuriboh bounced his way to him. Both of them were excited to finally hear Yugi talk again. As well as having their master's love be able to tell him.
Yami smiled as well; "You...you can talk! You're the one!" Yami said, as he ran towards Yugi & pulled him into his arms.
"Yami, get away from her!-" Anubis said, before covering his mouth, realizing that his voice was back to normal.
"It was you, all this time!" Yami said, happiness in his voice.
"Oh, Yami, I wanted to tell you." Yugi said, leaning his face forward to Yami.
"Yami, nooo-" Anubis shouted.
Both Yami & Yugi leaned towards each other, finally getting close to their kiss...
"*Moans in pain*" Yugi moans. Gripping on Yami's arms, as he slid down to the floor. His legs felt wobbly.
...But, the sun had finally set.
"Yugi?!" Yami said worryingly.
"HAHAH! You're too late!*Crackles*You're too late!" Anubis said.
Yugi was on the floor, with his tail back again. Yami looked at Yugi in shock, but didn't care much for Yugi's tail. Yami was about to grab Yugi, until he heard the sound of lightning from behind him. He turned & saw that Anubis's hands went out to the sky & lightning came towards his hands, before turning into a half-human, half-octopus. Yami felt sick to his stomach, he almost married an octopus.
Yami didn't have much time to think, before the octopus-man was crawling towards him & Yugi. Anubis quickly pushed Yami aside & grabbed Yugi, as he struggled the moment he was grabbed. Anubis then sat at the edge of the ship, before turning back to Yami;
"So long, lover-boy~" Anubis taunted, holding a struggling Yugi as he jumped from the ship.
"Yami!" Yugi shouted, desperately.
"Yugi!" Yami shouted back, as he leaned over the edge of the ship. Only seeing a large ripple in the water from Anubis & Yugi.
"Poor, little prince~" Anubis taunts, as he was dragging Yugi; "It's not you I'm after. I've got much bigger fish to-" Anubis begins to say, before a familiar triton is in front of his face.
"Anubis, stop!" King Muto shouted.
Yugi was happy & worried to see his grandpa, but he wasn't surprised by Yusei, who had his arms crossed & standing behind their grandpa.
But, Anubis tried to play it cool; "Why, King Muto!*Chuckles*How are you?" Anubis asked innocently, while lighting pushing his finger-tips against the edge of the triton.
But, King Muto, wasn't here to chat; "Let him go!" King Muto demanded, chucking his triton closer to Anubis's face.
Although, Anubis didn't care & leaned back with a glare. "Not a chance, Muto! He's mine now!" Anubis said, before pulling out a golden contract; "We made a deal." Anubis said, smugly.
"G-grandpa, I'm sorry! I...I didn't mean to! I didn't understand!" Yugi pleaded to his grandpa, as he was restrained by Rex & Weevil.
King Muto got his triton lighting up & looked angry as he was about top aim. But, it wasn't towards Yugi...it was towards the contract. King Muto blasted his magic at the contract, so that he could destroy it, & making Anubis crash into a large boulder. But, his magic did nothing to make the contract destroyed, which made Anubis laugh loudly.
"*Laughs*Don't you see! The contract is legal, binding & completely unbreakable, even for you." Anubis said, enjoying the disbelief faces of King Muto & Yusei. But then he added, as he swam up to King Muto; "Of course...I was a boy with an eve for a bargain. The grandson of the great Sea King is a very precious commodity." Anubis said, as the contract became a swirl-like tornado.
The swirl-like tornado made it's a way to Yugi. Rex & Weevil let go of Yugi immediately, leaving Yugi confused. And before he could question why, the swirl-like tornado went around him & forced him to the sea ground.
"YUGI!" Yusei shouted, swimming to Yugi, but was held back by Rex & Weevil.
King Muto tried to make an attempt to rescue Yugi as well, before Anubis hand on his chest stopped him.
"But! I am willing to make an exchange...for someone...far better~" Anubis said into King Muto's ear, smirking at the losing face of King Muto.
(Dammit! Jack, Marik, Malik, hell even Rebecca! Where are you guys...?) Yusei thought as he struggled to help his baby brother & grandpa.
"Yami! What the hell are you doing?!" Seto shouted, as he leaned over the edge & watching Yami row in a boat.
The moment that Yugi & Anubis went into the water, Yami immediately threw away his came & jumped into a row-boat & paddled away. His friends & priest all looked at him in confusion & worry.
"I lost him once, Seto. Like hell, I'm going to lose him again." Yami shouted back, not once looking at Seto.
"So...do we have a deal?" Anubis asked, holding up Yugi's contract tauntingly.
Yugi was becoming a bit shriveled as he looked at his grandpa, a pleading look on his face that was telling his grandpa not to do it. King Muto looked at Yusei's face, seeing the same pleading look on his face, but King Muto already made up his mind. King Muto closed his eyes as he turned his face away & pointed his triton at the contract. But, instead of the same magic before, he replaced Yugi's name & put his name on the contract. Anubis laughed evilly at this.
"Ha! It's done then!" Anubis said, feeling victorious.
The swirl-like tornado brought Yugi back to his full size & full-body self, before heading towards King Muto & spinning around him with incredible speed. King Muto was already starting to shrink.
"Oh, no! NO!" Yusei shouted as he watched his grandpa shrinking.
"NO! GRANDPA, NO!" Yugi shouted as well, tears falling down his face.
Anubis only kept laughing at the brothers misery. No one noticed the small shadow above them.
Yami stopped his boat when he saw a bright light coming from the sea. He stood up & grabbed a harpoon, which luckily was already in the boat, & gently placed himself in the water, not wanting to cause any noise.
(Don't worry Yugi...I'm coming to save you!) Yami thought, determined as he took a breath & dived into the water.
Finally the swirl-like tornado stopped, revealing an empty crown & no one there. But, then...a tiny polyps came from the crown & looked heartbroken. It was King Muto...
"G-Grandpa..." Yusei said, falling down on the seafloor, not bothering to notice that Rex & Weevil let him go.
"No...n-no..." Yugi said, also falling down with his hand over his mouth & tears falling harder from his eyes.
"At last, " Anubis began to say, as he slowly grabbed the crown & put it on his head; "It's mine!*Crackles*" Anubis said, as he finally grabbed the triton & caused it to glow.
Yusei didn't bother to notice, too distracted & numb to seeing his grandpa. But, Yugi wasn't.
Yugi slowly removed the hand from his mouth & looked at Anubis in anger & pain. Yugi slightly growled & jumped back up, before swimming straight towards Anubis & grabbing a hold on his neck.
"You...YOU MONSTER!" Yugi shouted at Anubis.
Anubis simply got angry & threw Yugi to a boulder, before putting the triton in front of Yugi's face & wrapping one of his tentacles around his waist to make him stay put.
"Don't mess with me, you little brat! Contract or not, I'll blast you-" Anubis begins to threaten, as Yugi looked scared, before groaning in pain by his right arm.
Anubis groaned & grabbed a hold on his right arm. He opened his eye & saw that it was a large cut, pierced his arm & looked up at what hit him. Yugi looked up as well & so did Yusei, when he finally saw what was going on, & everyone was surprised at who hurt Anubis. Yami was floating & had a flare on his face as he looked at Anubis, while Anubis looked at Yami in anger
"Why you little..!" Anubis growls, before grabbing a hold of Yugi, who was about to swim up to Yami.
"Yami! Yami, look out!" Yugi said, trying to warn Yami & escape Anubis's grip.
Anubis looked at Rex & Weevil, while gesturing his hand at Yami; "After him!" Anubis order.
Rex & Weevil nodded & swam to an already retreating Yami, who saw both eels & tried to swim back to the surface. Yami successfully made it back to his boat & took a breath, but then was dragged back down into the water & was restrained by Rex & Weevil. Yami thrashed around, trying to escape, & caught the attention from Yusei.
(Damn! If those two keep holding him like that, he'll-) Yusei begins to think & was about to help Yami, until two certain mer-people came to the rescue.
"EAT THIS, DIPSHITS!" Marik shouted, punching Weevil.
"This is for your comment earlier, freak!" Jack shouted, punching Rex,.
After punching Rex & Weevil, they successfully let go of Yami, just in time before Yami lost breath.
But, Anubis had Yami in his sights; "Say goodbye, to your lover~" Anubis taunted at Yugi, before looking to aim.
Yugi gasped in horror & tried to thrash to get away, but having no success. But, then someone else intervened in Anubis's plan.
"Like hell you will!" Yusei shouted, before grabbing a hold of the triton & aiming it somewhere else.
Anubis jerked at the movement of Yusei's unexpected grip & fired magic from the triton. And it aimed at Rex & Weevil, who got shocked & then turned them into specks.
"*Gasps*No! Rex, Weevil..." Anubis said sorrowfully.
Anubis then crushed the specks in his hand & turned up to see Yugi, Yami, Yusei, Jack, & Marik swimming up to the surface. Anubis grabbed a hold of the triton tightly as a black smoke formed from below him.
Everyone reached the surface, Yami breathed a full hand of air & looked at Yugi, who looked back at him in worry.
"Yami, you have to get out of here! You'll get hurt!" Yugi said as he swam up to Yami.
Yami only pulled Yugi in a hug; "I refuse to leave you! I just got you back! I'm not letting go of you, my love." Yami said, before tightening his arms around Yugi.
Yugi blushed at the name Yami gave him while everyone else had a sort of embarrassed face, even Yusei, embarrassed for being a witness to this private display of love. Before anyone could say anything, a large rumble came from the water, almost like an earthquake. Then a golden pillar began to come from the sea & coming from behind Yugi & Yami. Yami quickly grabbed a hold of Yugi hand & swam as fast as he could away from the pillar. Except it wasn't a pillar. As it came more up, it revealed itself to be a very familiar crown & then rose a...giant Anubis!
Anubis crackled loudly, his laughing booming around everywhere. Yugi & Yami held each other tightly, as everyone else looked on edge. Anubis looked down at them & laughed even more.
"YOU PITIFUL, INSIGNIFIACNT FOOLS!" Anubis said, his voice booming & his rose one of his tentacles.
Yami saw this: "Everyone, look out!" Yami shouted at them & ducked into the water, everyone following his lead.
Thankfully, everyone ducked into the water in time, as Anubis's tentacle splashed hard on the water. Anubis just laughed, not caring that they got away, & swirled the triton around the air; creating a storm, similar to Yami almost down in.
"NOW I AM THE RULER OF ALL THE OCEAN! THE WAVES WILL OBEY ME" Anubis said.
Lightening, thunder, harsh winds, & massive waves were around everywhere, looking to cause destruction. Luckily, Yugi, Yami, Yusei, Jack, & Marik were able to stay together. Yami gripped tightly onto Yugi, just as Yugi responded just as tightly.
"THE SEA & IT'S SPOILS BOW TO MY POWER!" Anubis said, before putting the triton in the water.
Anubis moved the triton around in a circle, making a bright blue in the water & making a tornado in the water. But, it reached the seafloor & caused a few of the abandoned ships to rise up from the water.
Yugi saw the ship & looked back at Anubis, before a plan came to his mind. Yugi turned to his brothers & Marik, still held in Yami's arms.
"Guys! I've got a plan!" Yugi shouted, the sound of lightning & thunder making him shout.
Everyone looked at Yugi, trying to keep the water & harsh winds from their eyes.
"I need you, Yami, to get to that ship & steer the ship's broken edge to Anubis's stomach & I need to distract him-" Yugi began to explain, before two voices screamed.
"NO!" Yami & Yusei screamed, clearly disliking Yugi's plan.
Yugi jumped at their screams, before backing himself up; "I have to! I'm the only one that could distract him long enough for Yami to do his part!" Yugi shouted, defending himself.
Yami looked like he was almost agreeing with Yugi; "Maybe...maybe your r-" Yami began to agree before some gripped on his collar.
Yusei grabbed a hold of Yami's collar of his tunic & faced him, a look of pure anger placed on his face.
"Like hell I will let Yugi do this! This is family business! You are not-" Yusei began to shout, before he was pushed back.
Yugi saw where his big brother was heading & pushed back Yusei from Yami, shocking Yusei in return. Yugi stood in front of Yami, before saying something that shocked not only Yusei more, but everyone.
"Stop Yusei! I promise I'll be fine! You won't lose me like Mom & Dad!" Yugi shouted, knowing what he was saying.
Yusei froze at his baby brother's words, as Jack & Marik's jaws dropped. Yami also was shocked. Ignoring the storm going on around them, everyone stared at Yugi & waited for Yusei's response.
"H-How...did you..." Yusei tried to say, but couldn't.
Everyone in the palace never spoke once about the fallen King & Queen, especially in front of Yugi. Yusei didn't want Yugi to know how their parents died.
Yugi smiled slightly, with tears forming in his eyes, & gently grabbed Yusei's hand. That touch brought Yusei out of his frozen state & looked at his baby brother.
"You didn't think I would hear the nightmares you had, when I would sleep in your room..." Yugi said, sniffing slightly from the tears.
Yusei couldn't respond, his eyes were beginning to form tears. Before Yusei could say anything, Yugi pulled his brother into a tight hug.
"You won't lose me...I know the promise you made to yourself, but...*Sniff*you have to trust me...I will be ok." Yugi said, tightening his hold on Yusei.
Yusei trembled a bit at this, before wrapping his arms quickly around Yugi & burying his head in Yugi's hair & finally crying the tears that he hadn't cried in years. Everyone watched with their own tears in their eyes, especially Jack, who was glad that Yugi finally lifted the burden that Yusei had on his shoulders for years
Yusei finally pulled away, wiping some of the tears away from his eyes, & smiling at Yugi; "Okay...I trust you." Yusei said, still smiling at Yugi.
Yugi smiled back, also wiping away some tears, & looked at everyone determinedly. And began to explain his plan...
Anubis was still laughing evilly & watched as the storm grew bigger & bigger, until he caught a grimace of a retreating Yugi. Anubis smiled evilly at this & made the waves crash Yugi into the underwater tornado. It successfully did, & it caused Yugi to scream as he plummeted into the underwater tornado & landed harshly on the seafloor. Yugi winced in pain, while gripping his right arm, & looked up to see Anubis, who was aiming the triton at Yugi.
Yugi saw this & quickly hopped around the seafloor, since he had his tail, & trying to avoid the sparks of magic heading towards him. Anubis laughed at his useless efforts, not noticing a broken ship heading towards him.
Yami had successfully managed to aboard the abandoned ship, with of course some difficulty, & was surprised to see that the ship still worked. But, then again, the ship wasn't that much broken. Yami was aiming at the broken edge of the ship right behind Anubis, who was still shooting magic at Yugi, & sending the ship at full speed.
"*Crackles*SO MUCH FOR TRUE LOVE!" Anubis says, as he raises the triton to aim one final time at Yugi.
Yugi looked up in panic; (Yami, please hurry!) Yugi thinks, as he was hoping his plan would work.
"I WOULD TRY & TAKE ALCOSER LOOK, ANUBIS!" Yusei shouted.
Anubis looked down at Yusei. But it wasn't just him. Marik & Jack were there, but all of them had a smirk display on their faces, & Anubis finally heard something behind him. Anubis turned around, ready to destroy what was there, but it was too late.
Yami plunged the edge of the broken part of the ship into Anubis's stomach.
"*Screams*" Anubis screams in agony.
Anubis's body began to get shocked by lightning & making him collapse forward. Yami quickly jumped overboard, seeing Anubis falling forward, & was luckily to escape. Anubis began to drag the ship down to the sea with him, as he was beginning to break apart. When Anubis fell forward, the triton was thrown in the air & shrunk back to its normal size, but it was beginning to fall.
Yusei saw this & turned to both Jack & Marik;
"The tritons back! Throw me now!" Yusei ordered.
Jack & Marik nodded their heads firmly, before grabbing Yusei by his arms & throwing him with all their might. They successfully threw Yusei far enough for him to grab a hold of the triton & land back into the water. Yusei rose up again, with the triton high up in the air, before saying;
"Hear me, triton! I wish to undo everything that Anubis had ever caused!" Yusei said, before lowering the triton down on top of the water.
The triton began to glow & the storm on the surface began to fade & bringing a clear night sky. But that wasn't the only thing it did...
The specks of Anubis's destroyed body landed into his old lair. This caused the once mer-people, now polyps, to look up & see the specks in joy. Not a moment later, the polyps returned into mer-people again & all of them cheered in joy. Their torment was over!
On the other side of the ocean, a few specks landed on King Muto & caused him to grow back to normal. King Muto smiled before, going up to the surface & seeing his eldest grandchildren. Yusei & Jack jumped at their grandpa, happy to see alive & back to normal. Everything was back to normal & happy once again...but not all was happy.
Yami shakenly walked to the sand, which was close to his palace, before collapsing in exhaustion. Only one thought on his mind;
(Yugi...) Yami thinks, before he completely falls into darkness.
Don't worry, I'm about to give you another chapter tonight & tomorrow.
That's right! I'm finished with this tory tomorrow!
