"Hey, Hisagi-senpai," Renji begins, scribbling away furiously at a piece of paper in front of him. He'd been working on it for the past few hours, scratching out words and replacing them, and kami knows what else. "Can you explain the kido thing to me? I still don't get it."
Hisagi was about to respond when the door opened and Kira returned from wherever he had wandered off to. The blond had already been gone by the time he had arrived. The entire purpose of this visit was to talk to two of the three who had saved him, and instead he only found the loud one.
"You are hopeless at kido, Abarai-kun," Kira lightly scolds as he drops the bag he had slung over one shoulder onto his bed. He glances back at them and raises an eyebrow. "I didn't realize that we had a visitor."
Renji hums, not really paying attention as he keeps himself slouched over his paper. "He came to hang out. Somethin' 'bout thanking us or something."
"Or something," Hisagi sighs, placing his hands behind him on the floor and leaning back. He looks over to Kira. "So? Are you going to ignore me in favor of schoolwork too?"
"I'm not ignoring you!" Renji immediately protests, "I even asked for help, but noooo, you're more interested in Kira. Well boo to you too!" Renji then sticks his tongue out for good measure. Unable to help himself, Hisagi sticks his tongue out back at him.
Kira snickers softly as he goes to prepare tea for everyone. "Is it that upsetting?" He questions softly, glancing over. "Don't worry, senpai, I won't ignore you." He then approaches to place the cups of tea down. One for Renji, one for Hisagi, and one for himself.
Renji barely notices his tea until he almost knocks it over onto his paper, and he quickly drinks it in one gulp in order to prevent such a tragedy. "I can't believe he's makin' me do this just 'cause I suck at kido. It's not my fault."
"Of course, not, Abarai-kun," Kira soothes as he sips at his own tea. He then turns his attention to Hisagi, who had just lifted his own cup to take a sip. "Say, senpai? I was wondering something. About that tattoo of yours; the one on your face?"
Hisagi almost spits his tea out. Instead he manages for a very ungraceful splutter and choke. "W-What?"
"The sixty-nine," Kira continues as if Hisagi had not nearly died right in front of him. "I've heard that the humans use that number to represent a sexual position. Is that why you got it? Are you… Well… Are the rumors true?"
Hisagi sets his tea down before he spills it all over himself, and somehow manages to avoid choking again. "N-No! T-That's not..! Gah!" He shakes his head to clear it before returning his attention to Kira.
"I got the tattoo because of a guy who saved me," he offers as explanation. When Kira raises an eyebrow in question, he flushes and continues. "I was a kid, and a hollow was about to eat me and my friends. Then this guy, a Captain! He came and saved us, killed the hollow and everything. He told me to man up and stop crying. He had this sixty-nine tattooed on his chest, and man… He was so cool! So I got the number on my face as soon as I was old enough, as my way of paying tribute for him. He's gone now, apparently. Killed or something."
"That's a shame," Kira comments, although Hisagi doesn't trust the sly look on his face. Kira soon proves that the distrust is warranted with the words that come next.
"I wonder if he was good at the sexual position, then? Ah, what if he survived! You should practice, so that you are ready when you meet him!" Kira claps his hands together as if he'd just had the greatest idea, having finished his tea and set the mug aside.
"I will not!" Hisagi yelps, his tea all but forgotten at this point. "I'm a man of honor, and so was he! There's no way he'd do something like that with just anyone!"
"But you aren't just anyone, you're the kid he saved," Kira points out. Hisagi wants to strangle him. "He's your hero, isn't he? Shouldn't you be looking for a way to pay him back, then?"
"You are a brat!" Hisagi decides, finishing his tea and standing. "An absolute brat of a kohai. How Renji can stand you as a roommate, I'll never know." He then makes his way to the door to leave, careful not to disturb Renji's studying. He doesn't see the smirk on Kira's face as a result of how flustered he had gotten.
