Chapter 6
Erebos Is Free
Nico turned around after hearing probably the scariest voice he has ever heard. He heared Kronos, he heared Gaea, but this voice sounded more ancient, more powerful than anything he listened to before. He saw a shadow behind him, seemingly made out of pure darkness. There were no details on his body, no shadows.
„This boy", the shadow said, pointing towards Nico. „Is right. Erebos is free. I am free."
Nico was immediatly believing that this shadow was Erebos. He was not amitting the same power as the gods standing rigth next to him. His appearence sucked the light out of his surrounings, the shadows became darker and the sunligth weaker.
„Sadly", Erebos continued, sending chills down Nico's spine with every word he said. „I am not able to attack. I need a powerful body. Gaea and Tartaros are lucky. They got actual physical bodies. Me, on the other hand, got nothing. Then they seemed to realize I was too powerful. They tried to kill me, but failed. They started holding me in between them, draining my power. Well, that was until recently."
„You will not win against these Demigods. They killed Gaea", Athena said, looking with a deadly stare towards Erebos. The voice now seemed to come from every direction: „Foolish godess. I am older than Gaea, more powerful. Gaea is the earth. But I am the shadows, the darkness. And darkness is everywhere."
Zeus now looked furious that someone called Athena, his daugther , the godess of wisdom a ‚foolish godess'. „You are nothing." He said to Erebos. „If you are so powerful, why don't you kill us rigth now?"
Erebos stayed calm, his voice now coming from the shadow again. „I already told you that, you fool. I knew from Kronos you weren't that smart, but not even remembering what I told you like a minute ago… wow. I need a host, a body I can take control over."
Zeus was outraged: „I AM THE KING OF THE UNIVERSE! I CAN INCINERATE YOU RIGTH NOW!" Erebos looked unimpressed. He just walked towards Zeus: „You can talk from luck I am still very much out of power", he said. He then touched Zeus forehead, who immediatly fell to the ground, obviously unconcious. Everyone grasped. There were times where Zeus couldn't do anything, but never did he just get knocked unconcious by a shadow.
„However", Erebos said. „After I destroyed the Olymp and slain Tartaros there is nothing stopping me from taking over the world."
„You will not, father", Ben shouted. Nico forgot about Ben, who stood right next to him the entire time.
„Benjamin", he said, sounding like a normal human now. „How are you, my son?"
„You can stop pretending to be nice. I know your real self."
„Oh, my stupid, stupid son, you know nothing."
And with these words Erebos dissolved into the shadows around him
