Meanwhile, in Neo Domino City Tops…
Jack Atlas was looking at the sea from the roof of his home. His attention soon turned to the Stardust Dragon card that used to belong to Yusei as he looked at the card in his hand.
"So even the king gets lost in his memories," Rex Goodwin said to Jack from behind him.
"I used to live in that garbage dump," Jack criticized Satellite as he looked at it from afar.
"You are the one chosen by the stars," Rex reminded Jack. "You should forget about that dark hell."
Suddenly, Jack threw the Stardust Dragon card right back into his deck almost evenly. "There's no way I can forget. I'm so humiliated about the days I spent at Satellite that I can't breathe. That land should be destroyed."
"That cannot be done. Neo Domino City cannot exist without Satellite," Rex Goodwin refused Jack's idea. "Satellite is a world that supports the prosperity of the chosen ones. The people who live there are only kept alive so that they can recycle all the garbage we throw away. In an ideal world no one is useless. The fact that the king used to live in Satellite is a test given to you by god. That is what I believe."
"A test," Jack muttered to himself.
"In Neo Domino City's history, the only person who succeeded in coming here from Satellite was you, king," Rex said. "That is why you are the one chosen by the stars."
Before the conversation could continue, a vortex opened up in the room and Pinkie Pie in her human form popped out of it. When she got out, she noticed Jack and Rex and bounced on over to them. "Hey there, you two. Have you seen my friends around anywhere or do I need to leave in order to find them? Oh, do you want to have a party before I go?" Unfortunately, the other two did not take her up on her offer. In fact, they looked shocked, confused, and even a bit angry at the intrusion. "Um, are you two okay? You look pretty upset."
"Yes I am. You pretty much just appeared in my home out of nowhere. How can I not be upset?" Jack yelled. "How much did you hear?"
"Of what you just said? Nothing. I just went through a portal to get here so excuse me if I came in at a bad time."
"You did come in at a less than ideal time. In fact, I think you should leave now or risk going to the Facility," Rex Goodwin warned.
"What Facility?" Pinkie asked only to be met with angry glares. "Well, alright. I guess I'll be going," Pinkie said as she sadly started to leave. However, before she could leave, her arm started to glow red with a heart symbol on it. As soon as it appeared, it disappeared though, leaving Jack and Pinkie confused and Rex shocked.
"Wait. How did you make that mark appear?" Rex questioned Pinkie.
"Um, I dunno. My arm has never done that before," Pinkie honestly answered.
"Well then. Jack, it looks like you'll have a guest staying with you for right now. Miss Pie will be staying with you so that we can keep an eye on her for the time being. Well, it's about time I get going," Rex gave his farewell.
"Wait, Goodwin. What was that glow? Why do I have to keep an eye on this energetic possible fan? Answer me!" Jack confronted Goodwin.
"Just trust me that I will tell you what you need to know in due time," Goodwin cryptically said before leaving.
Back in Satellite, underground…
Rally was holding a timer in order to count how long it took Yusei to go a certain distance on his Duel Runner. Rainbow Dash was also there, looking intently and thinking to herself. Since she had gotten to Satellite a few days ago, she had grown to become fast friends with Yusei and the gang. She wanted to thank them for helping her, but she didn't know how at first. As time went on, however, she came up with an idea. She wanted to come with Yusei and help him to defeat Jack in a duel. She also wanted to find the rest of her friends, hopefully in the process of helping Yusei.
Eventually, Yusei returned to the starting point and skidded to a fast and complete stop. Rally looked at the timer and was happy with the results. "Incredible! That's your best time so far! You'll be able to get through the pipeline easily!" Rally enthusiastically told Yusei as he showed him the timer.
"Yeah," Yusei simply responded.
"Tonight's finally the night," Rally responded.
"I'm going one more time. Time me," Yusei said.
At this, Yusei zoomed off on his Duel Runner in order to make one final test drive.
"I can't believe the people in the city dump this much garbage everyday," The man with the ponytail, Nervin, said as he was carrying three boxes of junk.
"Don't complain. We need to do this to eat," The man with the bandanna, Blitz, said, also carrying three boxes.
"Whoa!" The hefty man, Tank, said as he was holding his three boxes uneasily. His friends warned him to be careful as they started to walk by three men with yellow face markers sitting at a bench. One was wearing shades, one had a purple shirt and held out his index finger and thumb. The leader of the three had blue hair and was named Lenny.
As they walked by, Lenny intentionally tripped Tank, with both of his friends immediately dropping their boxes and turning around to help him and ask if he was okay.
"Sorry. You tripped over my leg," Lenny sarcastically apologized.
"You have really long legs Lenny. He should have been more careful," The guy wearing shades said as the other man laughed.
"I thought I smelled the stench of garbage approaching, but it turned out to be Satellite people," Lenny mocked the trio
Blitz then countered, "Yeah? Then what's up with the markers on your cheeks?"
At this, Lenny was furious as he got up, pulled Blitz toward him by his shirt collar and punched him.
When Tank, Nervin, and Blitz returned, they got bandages placed on their wounds courtesy of Rally. "Ouch," Blitz groaned as another bandage was placed on his face.
"You were beaten up pretty badly," Rally said in response to the trio's wounds.
"Lenny was recently sent here after causing an incident in the city," Blitz explained what little he knew of where Lenny had come from. "He keeps bragging that he's originally from the city and getting into scrapes with the people of Satellite."
"He just wants to say that he's different than us," Nervin explained.
"Well if you ask me, I think that I would have punched him back if I was there. No one messes with me or my friends. I may have learned to be less confrontational, but I still won't stand for the mistreatment of others like this!" Rainbow seethed over hearing about this Lenny guy.
"Um, thanks?" Nervin awkwardly said in appreciation of Rainbow's offer.
"Hey, Yusei, how are things going over there?" Tank asked out of curiosity.
"It's going extremely well," Rally excitedly said. "He achieved the best time ever today!"
"Yeah. He might just make it into Neo Domino City!" Rainbow Dash agreed with the young child.
"Hey, that sounds good," Blitz congratulated Yusei.
"It's all thanks to Rally," Yusei thanked his friend for getting him the chip.
"I also have to thank Yusei," Rally thanked Yusei in turn. "Since that incident, Security hasn't been chasing after me. Yusei, I'm making you a promise. I'll never steal again." In response to this, Yusei looked over at Rally and gave him a nod of encouragement.
"I guess there are reasonable people in Security after all," Blitz commented.
"It's a fact that a duelist always obeys the outcome of a duel," Nervin explained.
"I wouldn't call him a duelist," Yusei said, gaining the attention of everyone present. "However, for a dog in a position of authority, he accepts it when he loses."
Meanwhile, at Sector Security…
Trudge was looking over a brand new deck that he was issued. "So it's a special pursuit deck. What an interesting creation."
His boss explained, "Recently in Neo Domino City, there have been many cases of people misusing Duel Runners and driving wildly. To oppose them, a mobile squad known as the Duel Chasers has been formed. This is the deck specially customized for their use."
"And you're giving it to me?" Trudge asked.
"I heard that you recently lost to a Turbo Duelist and paid for the stolen item out of your own salary."
"That is the moral code of a Duelist."
"It turned out fine because they accepted it. But before you're a Duelist, you're a Sector Security agent."
"Understood. But the next time I meet him and his little girlfriend, things will end up differently because I now have this." Trudge started to walk away. "If that Duel Runner shows up again, tell me!"
As Yusei was typing into his computer, Tank asked, "What do you think the expression on Jack's face will be?"
Rally followed up by asking, "Are you going to duel Jack?"
Yusei answered, "I'll make him give me back the card. That's all. That card belongs to all of us."
"You're right," Blitz agreed. "Every one of us wanted to meet that dragon."
"The Turbo Duel that Yusei showed us when he hacked into the city was amazing," Tank said. "We learned that in the city, the Duel Disk was developed further into the Duel Runner."
"We were all deeply moved when Yusei created the Duel Runner," Rally added on.
"When that dragon flew, I was trembling with excitement," Nervin said.
"Our dreams came true," Rally said.
"However, Jack was already planning to steal Yusei's Duel Runner and card," Blitz bitterly reminded everyone.
"Maybe everyone around here would have been happier if Jack wasn't such a jerk and stole your card, Yusei," Rainbow commented on the story.
"This Duel Runner is also incredible. It can go through that pipeline in two minutes," Rally boasted.
"In only two minutes? Is that true?" Tank asked, amazed at the Runner's speed.
"Yes it is! And he can do it with me on board," Rainbow Dash commented.
"I ran a simulation," Yusei simply responded.
"You hacked into them again?" Blitz asked.
"Security's network isn't guarded well," Yusei answered as he pulled up an image of a pipeline on the computer. "Once a month at midnight, the pipeline is stopped for maintenance. It takes three minutes for the automatic maintenance to finish before garbage starts flowing again. If I can get through the maintenance hatch before then, I can escape to the outside." Yusei pointed to the hatch on the screen.
"Yusei, you're...No, I won't say anything anymore," Nervin responded to the plan. "I'll pray for your success."
"We found you," Lenny said as he and his two flunkies entered the gang's spot, one of them laughing. "We've come to give you our thanks." Yusei's eyes narrowed in anger.
"Due to the commotion this afternoon, we were punished! Furthermore, they docked our pay!" Lenny's shaded goon said as the other guy seethed in rage.
"We really wanted to thank you," Lenny said as he walked forward, ready for a fight, his two goons following him. "Is that a Duel Runner?"
"This doesn't concern you," Blitz responded.
"Yeah it is! What, do you want to fight over it?" Rainbow Dash snarled.
"It's a waste for a Duel Runner to be in the possession of a bunch of Satellite punks," Lenny said.
"That treasure is going to waste," the shaded goon agreed.
"We can't let it go to waste. Give it to me and I'll forget about the trouble you caused," Lenny tried to make a deal.
"I refuse," Yusei declined.
"Oh, so you're the Turbo Duelist?" Lenny asked Yusei. "Do you know how to Duel?" Both of his goons laughed. "Or do you want me to teach you? How about you wager that Duel Runner?" Lenny held out his arm while his shaded goon put a blue Duel Disk on Lenny's arm.
"Yusei, don't battle him," Blitz warned. Yusei, however, switched out his decks and disconnected his Duel Disk from his Duel Runner, placing it back on his arm. "Yusei!"
"Yeah, Yusei! Duel him and show him who's boss! You can beat him easy!" Rainbow Dash cheered Yusei on.
"A hybrid," Lenny was impressed.
"Yusei, we don't have time for this!" Tank warned.
"They mocked our dream," Yusei responded.
"Dream? Don't you realize you're just a bunch of Satellite losers? Come, over here," Lenny said as he led Yusei to where they were to Duel.
Everyone was in place for Yusei's and Lenny's Duel. "Duel!" Both Duelists yelled.
"I'm going to go first! I draw! From my hand, I summon Chainsaw Insect in Attack Mode!" Lenny said as a bug with a chainsaw for a mouth was summoned to the field (2400).
"It's only Level 4 but has 2400 Attack Points?" Tank and the others were shocked.
"I know. It has to have some negative side to it," Rainbow Dash was similarly shocked.
"I think that it allows the opponent to draw a card whenever it attacks," Blitz revealed.
"He's applying pressure from the very beginning," Nervin explained.
"Then I activate the continuous spell Retribution of the Antloin!" Lenny said as he played the continuous spell and a vortex formed in the ground. "When a monster is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, the controller takes 800 points of damage!"
"That means…" Tank began.
"When either Yusei or his monster is destroyed, it takes away Life Points. It's a spell that's very risky even to himself," Nervin explained.
"It means that he is very confident," Blitz realized.
"I end my turn," Lenny confidently said. "I'll show you how scary my Power Insect Deck is.
"Lenny, you're the best!" His shaded friend called out as his other friend held out his finger and laughed.
"My turn. I summon Shield Warrior in Defense Mode (1600). Then I set one card and end my turn," Yusei made his move.
"You chicken. You only placed your monster in Defense Position," Lenny mocked as both of his friends laughed.
"Then it's my turn! I summon Pinch Hopper (1000)! Then I send one insect-type monster in my hand to the graveyard to activate Insect Costume! Showtime is about to start!" Lenny said as his friends cheered. "Due to the effect of Insect Costume, I add one insect-type monster to my hand! Afterwards, one insect-type monster on the field is destroyed!
"He destroyed his own monster?" Tank asked as Retribution of the Antlion created an energy vortex that striked Lenny.
Lenny
3200
Yusei
4000
"Why did my Life Points decrease?" Lenny was shocked and confused.
"C'mon now. It's due to the effect of your own continuous spell," Blitz said as he facepalmed.
"Yeah, I'm new to this card and even I know that," Rainbow Dash said.
Lenny quickly regained his composure and said, "Oh, yeah right. However, that didn't hurt me at all! Watch! Pinch Hopper's effect now activates! When this card is sent to the graveyard, I can special summon one insect-type monster from my hand. Metal Armored Bug (2800)! It has 2800 Attack Points! Even though I suffered the effect of Retribution of the Antlion, it's worth it because I summoned a powerful monster!"
"It's profiting from loss!" Lenny's friend said as the other one laughed.
"It's huge!" Tank was shocked.
"He's brought out another incredible monster," Blitz said.
"In order to take advantage of Pinch Hopper's effect, he intentionally destroyed it using Insect Costume," Nervin realized.
"I'm not done! The fun is only beginning! I remove two insect monsters in my graveyard from play. This allows for me to summon Doom Dozer from my hand (2800)! The insect monster army is now going to battle!" Lenny yelled as Yusei looked unfettered. "First, Chainsaw Insect attacks Shield Warrior!"
"I activate the trap Scrap-Iron Scarecrow!" Yusei yelled and, to Lenny's shock, blocked the attack. "This can negate your monster's attack once a turn. Then Scrap-Iron Scarecrow is once again set."
"You survived the first one, but I have two more remaining! Metal Armored Bug, attack Shield Warrior!" Lenny yelled as Shield Warrior was destroyed, much to the shock of Yusei's friends.
"Shield Warrior…" Yusei said as Retribution of the Antlion proceeded to damage Yusei's Life Points.
Lenny
3200
Yusei
3200
"Doom Dozer, attack him directly!" Lenny cried out.
Lenny
3200
Yusei
400
"This is bad, Yusei's Life Points have decreased in an instant," Blitz said as he comforted Rally.
"Impressive, Lenny!" Lenny's friend said as the other one laughed.
"How's that! Try to counterattack me!" Lenny cried out.
"My turn. From my hand, I summon Speed Warrior (900). Then from my hand, I activate the spell card Double Summon. Due to this effect, I can normal summon again this turn. I'll use this card. I summon the tuner monster Junk Synchron!" Yusei said.
"It's here! It's Junk Synchron!" Rally cried out.
Junk Synchron pulled a chord on his body. "Junk Synchron tunes Speed Warrior! The stars come together to call forth a new power! Become the path that lights the way! Synchro Summon! Come, Junk Warrior (2300)!" Yusei yelled out.
"What's with him? He can do Synchro Summons?" Lenny was getting worried.
"It's nothing to worry about, Lenny! You still have a huge lead!" Lenny's friend yelled as his other friend laughed reassuringly.
"Then from my hand, I activate the equip spell Fighting Spirit! For every monster that you have, Junk Warrior's Attack Points increase by 300 points (3200)!" Yusei yelled.
"The opponent has three monsters! It increases by a total of 900 points!" Tank realized.
"Go, Yusei!" Rally yelled out, as Junk Warrior's fist glowed white.
"What? It's stronger than the power of my insect monster army!" Lenny was concerned and scared.
"Is this really possible?" Lenny's friend asked as his other friend nervously laughed and his index finger faltered.
"Then I activate the continuous spell Domino Effect, Yusei said.
"Domino Effect? What's that?" Lenny nervously asked.
"Junk Warrior attacks Chainsaw Insect! Scrap Fist!" Yusei yelled as his monster attacked Chainsaw Insect.
Lenny
2400
Yusei
400
"Then, I send the two cards Scrap-Iron Scarecrow and Fighting Spirit to the graveyard. Now this is the Domino Effect," Yusei began to explain. To Lenny's horror, his monsters toppled into each other and were all destroyed. "With Domino effect, when a monster on your field is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, for every card on my field that I sent to the graveyard, one of your monsters is destroyed."
"I see! By sending two cards to the graveyard, Doom Dozer and Metal Armored Bug were destroyed due to Domino Effect!" Rally realized.
"And that means that he'll take damage due to…" Rainbow Dash realized.
"Now take the effect of your own Retribution of the Antlion," Yusei said. At this, another vortex was formed that dealt damage to Lenny, lowering his Life Points to 0.
"Alright!" Rainbow Dash and the others cried out.
"Yusei won!" Tank cheered.
"No way…" Lenny groaned as he fell onto his knees.
"A long time ago, a friend of mine told me something. In a duel, you can't win just with monsters. You can't win with just traps or spells either. 'The true meaning appears when everything becomes one and the most important thing you need to achieve victory is right here,'" Yusei said as he held up his arm. "My friend didn't tell me what it was. But I know. It's the soul of a Duelist that believes in all his cards!"
"Well said," Lenny said with a smile as he stood up. "Sorry to bother you. But this isn't the last time we'll Duel. Next time, I'll win!"
"Fine," Yusei said.
Back in Neo Domino City…
Jack Atlas was riding on his Duel Runner on the track in his penthouse suite. Eventually, he stopped riding and took off his helmet.
"Do you need me to get you anything?" Rex Goodwin, who was watching the king ride, asked.
"When I arrived in Neo Domino City...It was on a moonlit night like this," Jack Atlas said.
"So, Jack, do you have any friends?" Pinkie Pie asked the king.
"No, not anymore. When you're the king you have no need for friends," Jack Atlas said as he shook his head.
Sorry it took so long to post a new chapter. I shifted into being interested in Pokemon. However, now that I'm back into 5d's I'll try the best I can to type new chapters. By the way, this chapter is indeed a sequel to the GX fanfic. However, I can't find the Japanese version with English subtitles so it may be a while before I continue it. Please leave comments, as I look forward to seeing other people's feelings on my work.
