I'm so glad to be back, I got a little extra inspiration to write another part in our story.
WickedlyMinx: I'm happy I make you curious enough to make you reread the story. Like I said there will be some mistakes in it.
Welcome to new followers: and Charmed2100
Hope you enjoy the new piece.
One of the dressers comes in to get Elijah for a fitting.
"Don't you have suits enough Elijah. You're like a woman with shoes." I chuckle.
His lips grin up in a devious grin.
"A gentleman can never be overdressed or overeducated...You better choose a dress yourself before all the good ones are gone. You know how Rebekah can be."
I just sit down in his chair and look out the window.
"How is it that you, little fox , are not getting ready for the ball?" Mother walks in.
"Little fox". A nickname once given lovingly in reference to my long icy blond hair. Like the coat of a snowfox my father would say. As sly as a fox as well if I felt the need.
"Don't see why I should, being stuck in the body of a 16 year old." I groan not meeting her gaze.
"An easy spell to fix, if you let me."
I just nod without looking. A few mumbled Latin words and my body is back to its original state. Filled up in the right places and few inches taller. I'm as tall as my sister when normal.
"Now a beautiful dress and an arm to walk you around. A blue dress will bring out your beautiful hair."
She puts my hair over my left shoulder and squeezes my shoulders.
"Now if I hear correctly from your brothers that Salvatore boy has stolen your attention. Why don't you ask him to be your plus one."
I turn around, looking at her. Like a deer caught in headlights. Why does she always know little things she can use against you. Niklaus his manipulation was part of her.
"I'm old enough to go by myself mother, independent and all..."
I walk away from her prying eyes and join Elijah to pick out an outfit for this evening. A blue ombre dress catches my eye. The lady providing the dresses immediately starts complementing me on my taste of fashion. Compelled much?
As the afternoon comes, so do the hairdressers and make up persons. I really feel overwhelmed by it all. Bekah enjoys this way too much. I only allow them to braid my hair to fall over my shoulder and minimum of make up.
Finn his long hair is being cut. Kol is joking how losing his caveman hair, will finally get Finn into this day and age. Meanwhile Kol is figuring out how a cellphone works. I sit down next to Finn.
"You look more like father now." I compliment him, without venom towards Mikael. Once our parents loved us all. Those memories did get drowned by all the bad ones but they were still there.
Finn looks at me with a lot of emotions bubbling in his eyes but only nods, as if agreeing with my statement.
I never wanted him in that coffin but my older siblings deemed it best. So when they were too much, as often, I would hide with Finn and talk to him. Seems stupid but I always thought he could hear me.
Mother enters in a beautiful gown, crowing herself the mater familias. The head of our Mikaelson clan. We hear cars coming up the driveway. I guess the show is about to start.
"I think this goes without explaining but please behave."
Great now we're back children. Kol chuckles as he sees me rolling my eyes. Rebekah stops me from walking out of the room.
"Your shoes won't do. Change! You can't go to a ball wearing flats."
"Well in exchange. You'll have me falling down the stairs. Your choice sister." I hiss.
Finn suddenly offers me his arm to walk down the stairs.
"Better than falling"
Elijah calls for the attention from everyone as we stand on the stairs. Mother standing at the top, above it all. I allow my eyes to wander across the room. My hold on Finn's arm falters as I see Elena with both the Salvatore brothers. Entering the room. Finn steadies me and walks me down the stairs. He leans in ever so slightly and starts to whisper.
"You know, when you're in that coffin for so long, your consciousness returns after a while. You hear and feel everything around you. So I heard you little one..."
As I turn to him, he lets go and blends into the crowd. Another hand appears on my lower back, I don't flinch. After growing up with as much as 4 brothers, you learn their mannerisms. Kol holds a glass of champagne before me.
"Now sister, tell me… What do people these days do for fun and are girls still so hard to get."
"Stop playing dumb. Look around you Kol, you'd see just how easy some girls have become. They would eat you alive if they could."
His mischievous grin appears.
"Interesting. Now this dance thing, let's get it over with so we can mingle."
We walk to the ballroom and start swaying with the others. Damon swaying Elena softly.
"Remember around 1400 or something, when we were in Italy? How we killed that town without a worry or care?" Kol seems amused.
"I remember you doing that, me telling you to cut it out and leaving after 2 days. I never killed like you. I only take what I need, I don't kill for sport. That's something you men do…"
Kol was right though. I did join in the killing those days. I had my emotions turned off. I was done with being a vampire and needed to let go of the guilt. Kol saw his chance clear and helped me turn them off. I did leave after two days. That's when Nik and Elijah found us. The latter pulling me from my daze and away from all the murder I had conflicted. I was never a sweetheart but it had scarred me for life. It's why I made the decision to never let someone die before me again.
"Keep telling yourself that sister... A heart is a heavy burden. That's why I chose not to care..."
Clearly.
We change partners and suddenly I'm in Damon's arms.
"Sam?"
I lift my eyebrow to see if he's for real. For years he raised me and now he doesn't recognize me?
"One and only. Now do tell me, what is my mother up to?"
He raises his eyebrows in wonder. He starts eyeing me to get a good look.
"I was never a child Damon but neither am I a buffet you can check out before you take your pickings. Eyes up here and answer the question."
I grab his chin and make him look me in the eyes.
"She wants to talk with Elena. We don't really trust the situation."
"That's a good lad." I say as I wink and spin out of his arms into Elijah's.
"I've heard, not need to cause any scene just yet. Mother could just want to talk to her."
"And Santa and the Easter Bunny could be real people."
The music stops, indicating the end of the dance. I nod and walk up the stairs to mother her chambers. Finn is lingering in the hallway. As I try to pass him by, his arm blocks my path.
"Brother, I would like to speak with mother."
"That will have to wait, she's busy…"
"Trying to kill us… or are her intentions pure. I can't help but wonder…"
"She truly wants us to be a family once more Samantha. Have faith in her ways. She will make us one whole once more."
Have faith? I don't do that…
So this was another piece in our puzzle.
Leave a review and tell me what you think.
