Yusei and Rainbow Dash were taken into the long term area by some of the guards. "Starting today, this is where you will live," One guard said as they pushed the duo forward.

"He's here," Armstrong said as he plucked out a nose hair, blew it, and laughed. Yusei and Rainbow looked up to see Armstrong laughing at their predicament.

Rainbow Dash and Yusei were both sent to different rooms right next to each other. "Get in. This is your room," the guard said as he pushed Yusei into his cell.

"So they put you in here," Yusei's roommate said. "That makes me happy. You can take the top bunk, even though new people are normally supposed to take the lower bunk. Things like that don;t bother me." Yusei proceeded to climb up onto the top bunk. "Hey you.. Sheesh."

Yusei was thinking about many things, including the Crimson Dragon's appearance, the mark on his arm, his conversation with Yanagi, and Rex Goodwin's dark warnings.

"Hey you," the roommate tried to start up a conversation.

"What is it?" Yusei asked.

"You're incredible. You beat Tanner. My name is Alex. Nice to meet you. I also watched that duel. Your name is Yusei, right?" Alex asked.

"Sorry, but can you be quiet?" Yusei asked.

"I see," Alex said disappointed.

"Bro," a familiar voice said. Upon seeing that the voice belonged to Yanagi, Yusei sat up.

"Grandpa," Yusei said. Yusei, Yanagi, and Rainbow went to meet Tanner on the walkway.

"Yusei, Rainbow Dash, you were both also transferred here?" Tanner asked.

"Yeah! It seems as though we're stuck here for a long time," Rainbow snarled.

"Why is this happening to me? This area is for long-term detainees. I was supposed to be transferred to community service so that I can leave here quickly," Yanagi explained.

"Same with me," Tanner responded.

"Bro, do you have any idea why?" Yanagi asked Yusei.

"We really can't escape from here?" Yusei asked.

"Yeah. Since we were transferred here, we're guaranteed to be stuck here for at least half a year. If you make any mistakes, it'll be longer," Tanner informed.

"That's unfair! We didn't do anything wrong in here! In fact, we shouldn't even be locked up!" Rainbow Dash yelled, only for Yusei to silence her.

"Calm down, Rainbow," Yusei said, with Rainbow begrudgingly agreeing. "I must leave here because there are things I need to do."

"So does everyone else. Anyway, now that we're here, be careful about Chief Armstrong. It's rumored that he wields his authority to do whatever he wants," Tanner warned.

Armstrong was bitterly watching the security footage while digging through his nose for hair. He was busy bitterly thinking about his earlier conversation with Goodwin.

"He's a Signer? And his friend is a lower ranking Signer?" Armstrong asked Goodwin.

"You heard rumors about the Crimson Dragon. Yusei's a candidate," Goodwin answered.

"But in our examination, he had no mark."

"Chief, I did not come here to hear your opinions. Make sure you keep your eye on him."

"Impossible!" Armstrong yelled as he plucked out a hair. "It's not allowed to be true! That garbage from Satellite must not be a Signer! I'll teach him that garbage will always be garbage!"

Later that night…

"Do you want to escape?" Aklex asked Yusei. "There's no one here who doesn't want to escape. When they brought you here, I bet they told you that you could leave soon. However, that's a lie. They keep outsiders who come to Domino City here in order to set an example. I was also supposed to leave here quickly, but it's already been a year. If you want to escape, want to come with me?" Alex went to his bed and removed the bed to reveal that he dug a hole. "It took half a year. Do you want to see what's up ahead?" Both Yusei and Alex went through the hole and ended up outside of the Facility. "Look," Alex pointed to the upper level. "From that opening, we can reach the upper portions of Neo Domino City."

"But how?" Yusei asked.

"My friends will come to rescue me tomorrow night."

"But what about this?" Yusei pointed to the criminal marker on his face. "If we leave the detention center, it will begin transmitting immediately."

"No problem! My friends will jam the security system via the internet," Alex explained. "The marker won't transmit for one hour. It's a method that can only be used once. If they discover the jamming, the system will be changed to something new, and that hole might also be discovered."

"I have one request. I want to include three more people in this plan."

"Tanner, the girl, and that grandpa?" Yusei nodded. "Fine. Anyway, if we don't escape between 8 and 9 o'clock tomorrow, we won't have a second chance. Got it?"

Jack was driving down his personal track trying to make the Crimson Dragon appear again, while Pinkie Pie was watching him from afar, curious to see what was going on. "Why won't it appear? In order to make the Crimson Dragon appear, it seems I must duel him again."

The door to Tanner's cell opened up. "What do you want?" Tanner asked Armstrong.

"I've received information that you're hiding weapons," Armstrong explained.

"Weapons? I don't have any. Go ahead and search my room," Tanner offered.

"That's not necessary," Armstrong said as he pulled out a revolving pocket knife out of his vest pocket. "See? I found one."

"How dare you!" Tanner yelled as he tried to rush at Armstrong only to be held back by two guards.

Tanner's face was being pushed into the investigation table, with Tanner struggling to look up at Armstrong. "What did that new arrival tell you?" Armstrong asked.

"What do you mean? Besides, I never sell out my friends," Tanner refused.

"That garbage from Satellite is your friend? The former pro duelist has fallen far."

Suddenly, all across the prison everyone heard Tanner scream out in pain, with Yanagi covering his ears, Yusei being concerned, and Rainbow being scared and angry, but hiding the first emotion well.

After a while, the guards threw the beaten Tanner onto the middle of the walkway. Everyone was shocked to see that they broke Tanner, including Yusei, Yanagi, and Rainbow. "Tanner committed a huge crime! Everyone here will be held responsible! Your free time is revoked for an entire year! No one is allowed to leave their cells!"

"Wait," one inmate said.

"That's the same as being in solitary!" another inmate said.

"That's right!"

"Be quiet! Garbage like you has no right to complain! You're all worthless in society!" Yusei and Rainbow were angry upon hearing this. "You do not have the right for freedom! Just continue to live pathetically in the shadows for eternity! If you have any complaints, then speak up! If you do, you'll end up the same way as him!" Armstrong said as he laughed.
"Wait! No one in the world is worthless," Yusei countered.

"Yeah! Just because they're in prison now doesn't mean they'll always be crooks," Rainbow added on.

"My my. The two pieces of garage from Satellite think that they're heroes?" Armstrong mocked.

"Tanner is innocent. He's a real duelist. He wouldn't conspire to do anything," Yusei explained.

"You're saying that even though you know that I'm also a duelist? You're saying he's real but I'm fake? Fine. Let's settle things in a duel in front of everyone! If you win, I'll ignore Tanner's crime, and I promise not to take away everyone's free time. However, if I win…" Armstrong setted up.

"I'll do whatever you want for the rest of my life," Yusei offered, much to everyone's shock.

"Interesting. The duel will take place tonight at 8:30. Understand?"

"Fine."

"Hey, how can you say that when he's…" Alex said only to be interrupted.

"Stop!" Yanagi yelled out. "Please stop!

"Keep coming!" the guard responded as Armstrong chuckled. "I found one. And here," the guards said as they took away Yanagi's cards.

"Wait! Those are my treasures!" Yanagi pleaded. "Give them back! Please!" Armstrong responded by backhanding Yanagi onto the steel floor.

"I'm confiscating this deck. Listen, this will be your final free time! Spend it well so that you have no regrets!" Armstrong said as he walked away.

"Yusei, why did you do that? We're supposed to escape tonight!" Alex disagreed.

"I know," Yusei responded. After the cell doors opened, Yusei and Rainbow immediately ran to the cell where Tanner and Yanagi were being thrown into. "Tanner!" Yusei yelled in concern.

"Yusei," Tanner weakly said as he tried to get up.

"Are you okay?"

"Sorta. Yusei, I'm sorry. They also took my deck," Tanner said, to Yusei's shock.

"Oh no! They took my deck," Yanagi yelled out.

"Great! What are you going to do now Yusei?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"I don't know," Yusei answered.

Immediately, four men ran into the cell. "Tanner!" The men started to cry out in concern.

"Is he alright?" Another man asked.

"Understand? This is how the chief does things. He never intended to have a fair duel from the beginning. You fell for his taunts. Tanner and grandpa's decks were confiscated. Without a deck, you have no chance. Let's escape, just the two of us. In their current state, those two won't be able to make it. As for your Rainbow haired friend, she can tough it out on her own," Alex said.

"I can't do that," Yusei refused.

"Why not? You don't owe these people anything," Alex countered.

"Since we dueled, we're now friends. If I leave my friends behind, I'll never truly be free," Yusei commented.

"Stop acting tough when you have no deck. Do whatever you want! Sheesh!" Alex responded before leaving.

"So, you're giving up your one chance at freedom?" Rainbow asked Yusei.

"I can't leave my friends behind. You know that," Yusei said.

"Maybe, but maybe my friends can help us get out of here when Twilight is able to find a way to contact Spike. You can still leave if you want. I can face Armstrong," Rainbow offered.

"Thanks, but no. I'll face off against Armstrong," Yusei was persistent.

"Okay then. Before I go, I have a few cards for you," Rainbow said as she pulled out Red Dragon Archfiend and Blasting the Ruins. "Good luck." Rainbow proceeded to return to her cell.

"Hey, you said your name was Yusei? You were quite the showoff," one inmate said.

"Come with us for a minute," another inmate said. Yusei agreed and went to the pathway, surrounded by inmates.

At 8:30…

The guards opened up the door to Yusei's cell. "Come out!"

As Yusei was being led out as Alex tried to talk Yusei out of this. "Yusei!"

"Don't mind me," Yusei responded. The guards proceeded to take Yusei to the middle platform.

"Hero of Satellite, you need a deck to duel. You did bring one, right? If you don't have one, then I win this duel by forfeit!" Armstrong yelled as the guards began to approach Yusei.

"I have a deck," Yusei showed a deck of forty cards.

"Impossible! From where?" Armstrong demanded.

"You will never understand how much a duelist cares for a single card," Yusei answered.

"A duelist always keeps his most special card with him," One man said as he handed Yusei a card.

"I want you to have this," another man said as he handed Yusei a card.

"If you didn't oppose him, we would have continued to feel pathetic forever," another inmate said.

One by one, everyone gave Yusei a card until he had a deck of forty cards.

"I'll carry your emotions with me," Yusei thanked the inmates as they cheered.

"Well, fine. If you have a deck, then I'll just have to squash you in a duel. You guys! Hurry up and prepare the Duel Disks!" Armstrong ordered as Duel Disks were placed on both duelist's arms.

"What's this chain?" Yusei asked, taking note of how the Duel Disks were chained to the floor.

"It's just for a little show. Only the survivor gets to take off this Duel Disk."

"Only the survivor?"

"You'll understand soon enough."

"Duel!" both duelists cried out.

"I refuse to believe that a garbage from Satellite is a Signer," Armstrong thought bitterly.

"My turn. I summon Great Phantom Thief in defense position (1000 Defense)," Yusei played.

"Hey look! That's my card!" One inmate yelled.

"I end my turn," Yusei said.

"Be careful. Even though everyone put their emotions into that deck, it's still a random deck without strategy or theory," Tanner warned.

"But Bro can do it!" Yanagi believed in Yusei.

"It's my turn! I draw! I summon Iron Chain Repairman (1600 Attack)! Iron Chain Repairman attacks your monster! Go, Iron Chain Repairman!" Armstrong yelled out as the monster was destroyed.

"My card…" The inmate who owned the card muttered sadly.

"At this moment, Iron Chain Repairman's monster effect activates! When it destroys a monster in battle, you take 300 points of damage! Prepare yourself, garbage hero," Armstrong darkly muttered.

"What?" Yusei asked before he felt a painful electric shock.

Armstrong

4000

"Yusei!" All of Yusei's friends cried out in worry.

"What in the world even was that?!" Rainbow demanded.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot to explain. This Duel Disk has a special mechanism. When you take damage, an equal amount of electricity flows through it," Armstrong explained.

"What?" Yusei was shocked.

"From past examples, it's unlikely that the loser of this duel will live. That's what I meant when I said that only the survivor would be able to remove the Duel Disk. I set two cards and end my turn." Armstrong ended his turn.

"My turn. I summon The Kick Man in attack position (1300 Attack)!"

"That's my card!" Another inmate cried out.

"Go, Yusei! The Kick Man will blast armstrong to bits!" an inmate yelled.

"Then the Equip Spell Stim-Pack. The equipped monster gains 700 attack points (2000 Attack). The Kick Man, attack Iron Chain Repairman," Yusei said.

"I won't let you do that! Continuous Trap Soul Anchor! This card is equipped on to Iron Chain Repairman. When this card is on the field, it cannot be destroyed in battle!" Armstrong played.

"However, you still take damage," Yusei reminded Armstrong.

"He did it. Now he will also receive an electric shock," Tanner said.

Armstrong's Duel Disk did next to nothing to him, though he pretended to be shocked until he started laughing instead of yelling. "I don't believe it. It seems my Duel Disk is malfunctioning."

"What?" Yusei was shocked.

"This is also his trap," Tanner realized.

"So only Yusei will be shocked then. That's totally unfair!" Rainbow Dash yelled.

"That's cheating! There never was electricity flowing through his Duel Disk from the beginning!" Alex yelled in anger.

Armstrong laughed. "Stop making false accusations. It's not my fault that it's malfunctioning."

"You're a cheater!" yelled an inmate, with many others sharing the sentiment and yelling.

"Yusei, stop! This duel doesn't count!" Alex tried to save his friend.

"Yeah! Let me duel him!" Rainbow Dash also offered to help.

"Neither of those are allowed!" Armstrong rejected. "I apologize to your hero, but it's no reason to stop the duel. The duel will continue! My turn! From my hand, I summon Iron Chain Snake (800 Attack)! Take Iron Chain Snake's monster effect! Iron Chain Snake is equipped on to your monster, and it loses 800 attack and defense points (1200 Attack). Go, Iron Chain Repairman!"

The monster was destroyed and Yusei was shocked once again.

"When Iron Chain Repairman destroys a monster in battle, you take 300 points of damage!" Armstrong reminded as another shock began.

"Yusei!" Rainbow, Tanner, and Alex yelled out in concern.

"Bro!" yelled Yanagi.

Yusei was on his knees after the most recent electric shock.

"That's not all. When a monster equipped with Iron Chain Snake is destroyed in battle, its controller has to send cards from his deck to the graveyard equal to the Level of the equipped monster. The Kick Man's Level is three. Now send three cards from your deck to the graveyard!" Armstrong informed Yusei. Yusei went ahead and sent the top three cards of his deck to the graveyard. "I'll soon send you back to that garbage dump you call a hometown! But I'm going to kill you first!" Armstrong proceeded to laugh as everyone called out Yusei's name in concern and called for him to rise to his feet.
