(Chapter 3: Chaos on Monster Island, Ford Brody returns to Monarch)
"King Caesar?" Mark asked, raising his eyebrows at the priestess.
"Yes, our kind emerged out from the hollow earth several thousand years ago. Little by little, until we became an underground city. There was actually a few monsters roaming the surface of the Earth from time to time, such as Godzilla, King Caesar, and a few others. Caesar came from the middle eastern lands, but he lived in Asia ever since he migrated here."
"That's amazing!" Madison said quite loudly in shock, getting a chuckle out from the priestess and her father.
"It is, he protected us from the sagoth tribes, and the mahars to name two of the evil nations of the hollow earth that came for us. He also protected us from evil titans that harmed our people!" The priestess continued to explain the origins of King Caesar.
Mark sounded puzzled at the sound of "mahars", he had heard of the sagoths but not these other creatures that the priestess spoke of. He dreaded what they were, even though Mark and Madison Russel were taking a leave from Monarch, they had heard the stories of what had been going on, of course seeing the events play out on the news.
"Mahars?" Madison asked, sounding concerned herself.
"Those things are terrifying, humanoid bird creatures that have taken the hollow earth by force. They have the sagoths do their dirty work, and the sagoths are bad enough.." The father of the priestess spoke up.
"Would you two mind taking us to see King Caesar? Assuming he's still sleeping." Mark asked, wanting to feel safe with this defender of humanity.
"Sure, no noise will wake him up. Only a special song can, even if you yell or touch him, he still will not wake up."
The four rose from their seats and headed back into the underground chamber, the priestess leading the way, she knew more about these tunnels and complexes than any other person other than her father.
(Outpost 54)
As per usual with every prisoner of the G-Team, Mercutio sat alone in an interrogation room with an armed Alan Haas. An audio and video surveillance camera focused on them with other members of the Skull Squadron on the outside of the room, looking in on the interrogation.
"How long have you been here, Merc?" Alan asked in an angry tone of voice but not aggressive, Mercutio had a smug grin on his face.
"Too long." The Italian answered with Alan Haas slamming his fist on the table.
"That doesn't answer anything dipshit, tell me how long you've been here before I have your brains all over this fucking table!" Alan screamed furiously, showing absolute hatred for his enemies.
"No need to have a temper tantrum, Haas." Mercutio answered to his interrogator's aggression.
Alan shook his head and approached Mercutio, viciously ramming the butt of his rifle into the face of the captured ERR soldier, causing a nosebleed.
"Don't make me fucking kill you, because I will, and I will do it in cold blood.." Alan Haas continued, aiming his rifle at the head of Mercutio at point blank.
"NOW TALK!" Mercutio roared, finger on the trigger, wanting to squeeze it so badly.
"I was here for the longest time Alan Haas, I was here whenever you were dealing with Pulgasari and Yongary. That long ago, I was at the GDF base for a year until I retrieved Jerome Hunter. Then I came back to Outpost 54, I left again, I worked with Alan Jonah for a bit, I left again to go back to the GDF. You get the picture, I've been going from place to place for years!" Mercutio screamed aggressively.
Everyone outside of the room could hear what the two were saying, everyone was shocked to silence that Mercutio had been stealthily going from outpost to outpost to gather information and eavesdrop.
"You went to the GDF?" Alan Haas asked quietly, Brayden Snow raised an eyebrow, Brayden was the mastermind behind the creation of the company and he probably wasn't going to like what the Italian soldier was soon to say.
"I did, I snuck in with disguises and you morons were fooled. I stole several of your blueprints, I stole several of your DNA capsules. Several of your Monarch files, the Earth's Rightful Rulers knows everything you know just about and for the hell of it, we've got a GDF of our own, it's called APEX. We're working on something that can kill Godzilla, a better aircraft to rival the ARGO that you foolishly allowed it to be destroyed by Gyaos." Mercutio answered, Brayden's eyes went wide.
"This bastard stole DNA capsules, they can create God knows what now.." Brayden thought to himself, Alan Haas couldn't hardly handle the amount of rage he was going through right now.
"You sick bastard!" Alan screamed as he aimed the rifle point blank at Mercutio's head, teeth bared and seething in pure fury.
"Killing me won't solve your problems, Alan Haas. I'm not the thing or person you need to be worried about, if you kill me, you'll have the ERR storming every outpost that they can. We've got a much larger fighting force than you fools think, if we've been able to outsmart you over the years, what makes you think that you will stop us even if you kill me?" Mercutio asked with a cocky grin spreading across his lips.
"Keep talking, asshole.." Alan growled furiously.
"Killing me would be another mistake and it would more than likely lead to yet another important member of your Skull Squadron, or any well known figure here, into their grave. Just like Dr. Ling, Dr. Chen, Malory, Minette, Diane Foster, and Jackson Barnes.." Mercutio answered before breaking into a fit of laughter, this pushed Alan Haas over the edge and he pulled the trigger, ending the life of a wanted man..
Haas faced the window, knowing that the rest of the Skull Squadron on the other side and watching his brutal action in horror and shock while somewhat happiness.
"As long as Ford Brody is gone, I remain in fucking charge!" Alan barked at the window, Brayden felt his phone buzz and he decided to glance down at it. What he seen shocked him to the very core, Godzilla was attacking Outpost 33 on Monster Island...
(Outpost 33, Monster Island)
A large tower came crashing down to the ground as several scientists fled the scene, the tower slamming down hard onto the fleeing scientists, killing several but leaving many alive as a loud screeching roar was heard. A gun was firing up at Godzilla, who approached it and viciously slammed his pillar like leg down upon the gun, smashing it apart with a loud explosion, debris was sent flying, slamming into several Outpost 33 personnel.
Godzilla's spines flashed yellow and so did his large amber eyes as he unleashed a massive yellow beam down upon the outpost, turning his head from side to side, making sure the beam took out building after building. Each time his devastating powerful ray connected with the building, they practically exploded, killing hundred within the buildings.
The loss of this outpost would be extremely bad, nobody could monitor the titans up close if the outpost was being destroyed. Titans could potentially be able to roam free, which was surely nothing good.
Godzilla let out another screech and plowed through a massive building with ease, making it slowly crumble down to the ground, killing several hundred more people as they desperately tried to flee from his wrath.
"Godzilla's turned on us!" A person cried out in horror as his large foot came crashing down over a group of fleeing personnel, his tail was seen soaring overhead and then slamming into another building, a flash of light shot out of the building as his massive tail smashed through it, damn near cutting it in half.
A loud bellowing filled the air as Godzilla plowed through another building, another large fireball shooting high into the sky as he destroyed yet another tall building of the large outpost. As Godzilla turned his head to see what the roar was coming from, a large fist slammed down through a massive wall of smoke from how many fires were lit within the area. Another fist came down, the King of the Monsters became alert and stood, watching as Titanus Behemoth marched through the smoke.
Something about Godzilla wasn't right, to Behemoth's eyes. The tusked titan didn't understand why Godzilla would turn his back on humanity when they hadn't done nothing to him in a while. Behemoth let out a low grumble, he managed to co-exist with humans over the years since the 2019 attacks and now Godzilla was destroying the tiny ant sized beings that he loved.
Godzilla dropped one of the transmission towers within his large clawed hands, the twisted steel crashing down onto a massive pile of rubble. Behemoth pawed at the ground with his hind legs and growled at him, Godzilla's eyes narrowed and they flashed yellow before he let out a massive screeching roar.
Behemoth knew something was wrong now, Godzilla's roar never sounded like that, his eyes never flashed yellow for any reason. His mind jumped to the conclusion that this Godzilla was just another one of the real Godzilla's species, it wasn't the King of the Monsters that he knew to be an ally with.
Behemoth attacked first, giving him a quick charge and ramming Godzilla down with his massive tusks, the large saurian let out a growl and toppled to the side. The tusked titan backed up and went to charge in on Godzilla again only to be blasted in the face by his yellow ray, Behemoth grumbled and shook his head in pain as Godzilla got back up and marched towards him.
Behemoth stood up on his hind legs and cocked his frontal arms back before shooting them hard into the chest of Godzilla, knocking the large saurian down once again with. Several personnel in which had fled to a rocky beach on the island was lucky enough to watch Behemoth brawl with Godzilla, or what they presumed was Godzilla that everyone knew and loved..
Behemoth backed up and gave Godzilla a furious growl, asking him why he was doing this in a demanding tone of his growl, Godzilla got up and snarled ferociously at the mammoth-like titan. It was evident that Godzilla wasn't looking to answer any questions, so Behemoth charged in again. His tusks locking around the saurian and then hurling Godzilla to the side with a loud bang. His massive tail slamming into a ledge in which caused an avalanche, sending some personnel trying to flee, falling into the ocean.
Godzilla let out a frustrated screeching roar as he rose back up to his feet, Behemoth pawed the ground like a bull, letting out a low bellow as if telling Godzilla to stand down. Godzilla growled and moved in on Behemoth once more, spinning around and slamming his tail into the side of his ally.
Behemoth groaned and took a few steps away, stunned but not significantly hurt. Godzilla moved in as the elephantine beast turned around just in time to see him coming right at him, the mammoth bowed his head as if surrendering, narrowing his eyes a bit as Godzilla moved in. That was until Behemoth viciously jerked his head up, the sharp points of his tusks slicing into Godzilla's flesh, large chunks of scaly skin flying off and down onto smoldering rubble of fallen buildings.
Godzilla growled and a shiny gleam came from the wound of where he had been cut, as if there was something metallic beneath his skin. The Behemoth's eyes widened in surprise, wondering what had happened to Godzilla. His intelligent mind started to put all the puzzle pieces together, this was not Godzilla, but a mimic, there was a metal endo-skeleton beneath the skin.
Behemoth wasn't going to waste any time, he charged forward, tusks at the ready only to have them snagged into this mimic Godzilla's grasp. The eyes of the elephantine beast widened in shock as the mimic Godzilla began to pry at the tusks as hard as he could. Pain struck Behemoth as he felt one of his tusks being torn off of his body, over time, it would grow back similar to how bones heal up and it would restore back to normal length and sharpness, but that process would take several decades and with the threats of rivals and enemies growing stronger each year, what would Behemoth do with a tiny stump for a tusk?
Behemoth pressed his frontal limbs into the chest of Godzilla and grumbled lowly, trying to get him away but it didn't work. Mimic Godzilla had an "iron" grip to the tusk and how he pressed his large pillar like leg onto the other trunk of Behemoth, forcing the mammoth down to the ground hard with a loud thud. He roared in agony as a loud snapping noise was heard, Mimic Godzilla had forcefully removed one of Behemoth's tusks, or part of one of them at least!
Behemoth let out a trumpeting roar of agony as he laid on the ground, writhing in pain and pawing at where the tusk once was. Mimic Godzilla prepared to finish the fight until another loud roar echoed across the sky, one that silenced every titan roaming on the island and the scrambling personnel. Thunderous booms echoed out after the roar and Mimic Godzilla looked up to see a new challenger.. Kong!
Kong remembered his duties, after all, before Godzilla became king of the monsters and before his big battle with him in 2020, this was HIS island. Kong desired to protect humans and peaceful titans, but like Godzilla, he would patrol around the island to keep ANYTHING in check. The great ape was limited to restoring balance and peace to only his island so far, with Godzilla not around, he was king.
Kong's ever watchful eyes noticed the shiny gleam from Mimic Godzilla's wound, he knew something wasn't right about this. The last time he seen Godzilla, was last year, when he was wounded and had no dorsal spines after exerting too much power during the beam struggle with The Gryphon. This was not Godzilla, nor was it any other member of his species.
Mimic Godzilla let out a screeching roar to serve as a warning to Kong, but the beastly primate did not listen. The massive ape lunged from the top of the mountain in which overlooked the outpost, coming down with a thunderous punch that caused Mimic Godzilla's head to jerk to the side.
Mimic Godzilla turned his head, his eyes a glowing yellow, the punch not even effecting this mimic one bit. Kong's eyes went wide with an "oh shit" look to them as Mimic Godzilla's tail smashed into his body hard, sending the ape flying into the air and crashing down hard into the mountain with a massive boom. Rocks tumbling down over Kong and down his body, the mimic approached the primate, but even though Kong was outmatched, he would still fight against all the odds.
He grabbed a large boulder and hurled it towards Mimic Godzilla, it slammed right onto the snout but it still had no effect. The mechanical giant in disguise rushed at Kong, but the ape was just too fast and lunged out of the way, diving down towards the severed remains of Behemoth's tusk.
The mammoth groaned as Kong quickly checked on him, the ape seen that his titan companion was hurt, Kong had a better friendship with Behemoth than he did with Godzilla, seeing that this mimic of Godzilla was the source of the hurt Behemoth, Kong bared his fang like teeth in rage.
Mimic Godzilla charged again but was hit hard on the head by Behemoth's tusk, Kong using it as a weapon. Parts of the real mechanical Godzilla was revealed, a large robotic yellow eye being revealed. Mimic Godzilla growled in annoyance, Kong wasn't done yet as he raised the tusk high above his head, ready to impale the skull of this mimic until he received a bright yellow ray right to the face, knocking him out cold almost instantly..
Kong collapsed to the ground, the computer within MechaGodzilla presumed both titans to be dead, it scanned the area for any quick passageways to attack human cities. Discovering several hollow earth tunnels in which would serve as highways to human cities such as Miami, San Francisco, Savannah, and many more. Mimic Godzilla disappeared around the corner of a large mountain, leaving a destroyed outpost and two damaged titans in his wake!
Meanwhile on the interstate, Sam was riding down the lonesome road at around midnight as of now on the Eastern side of the USA. Peaceful as he listened to some classic rock music on the radio, it had been about an hour since he first left Tallahassee to escape his raging father. In his head, he thought of Destanee and spending time with her family, a warm smile spreading on his lips.
The bluetooth phone connected with the system of his car started to ring, it was his father, Sam sighed, and reluctantly answered it. Ford was heard sighing on the other end of the phone.
"Hey dad.." Sam said in a slightly annoyed tone, not wanting to piss of his father again nor speak to him much after discovering him pleasuring himself with porn and whiskey earlier that night.
"Hey son, I'm wanting to say sorry for all I've did. I know our relationship has been rocky for the better part of the year, if my wife hadn't died, I'm sure none of this would have happened.." Ford apologized to his son, not expecting him to be so forgiving this soon.
"I understand mother is gone, I'm depressed and sometimes I cry here and there. What I don't do is resort to drowning out sorrows with alcoholic beverages, and watching porn to play with myself. It's only going to make the situation worse.." Sam said, trying to reason with his dad.
"Look, it is the only way I know to cope. My dad was like it too when he lost his wife in the Janjira Incident back in 1999, an alcoholic until I became an adult. He never taught me right from wrong and it is kinda prevalent that I failed in that degree as well.." Ford answered with a sigh.
"I understand, but please. Try to better yourself, how about you come back to what made you?" Sam suggested, Ford raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"What made me?"
"Yeah, Monarch and the G-Team, the Skull Squadron specifically. You were once a general and to me, you still have it inside you. I don't want mamaw and papaw Brody looking down on their son in shame, I want them to look happily down upon you." Sam explained, the end bit of his sentence bringing a smile to Ford, one of the first smiles he's had in a long time out of a feeling of love.
"Thanks, son." Ford answered with the smile lingering on his face.
"You're welcome, dad. Love you." Sam said, Ford became misty eyed.
"I love you too son."
With that, they hung up. Sam turned the radio off and drove around in silence after speaking with his father for a bit. Still within Florida, Ford sat on a chair down by the pool, relaxing under the moon as the cool night's air hit his chubby body. He looked down, his abs weren't visible anymore, a disappointed sigh came out of his mouth. Only now realizing how far he let himself go until this point.
Ford scrolled through the contacts on his phone, he had deleted quite a few all except for Mark Russel and Sam. The middle aged general deciding to call up Mark Russel to see if he could pick him up by osprey and take him to Outpost 54, it wasn't extremely far due to Ford residing in Florida, one of the closest, if not, the closest state to the outpost.
"Mark Russel of Monarch, hello General Brody. It's been quite some time since we last spoke, I've been receiving messages that you've retired." Mark said as he picked up the phone, walking down a tunnel with the priestess and her father along with Madison.
"Hey Mark, I've been retired for the better part of a year as of lately. Wife unfortunately passed away to a horrible illness, and now I'm here as a fucking alcoholic. My son has talked me out of it, I'm thinking about coming back, I need to get in shape again and take the reigns of the G-Team again before somebody stupid takes the mantle as leader." Ford explained, Mark sighed.
"Damn, where are you now?" Mark asked.
"I'm in Florida, relaxing by a pool, is there any way you can come pick me up at the nearest airport by osprey and fly me to Outpost 54?"
Mark chuckled at this, he and Ford were on two completely different continents.
"Well, you're in Florida and I'm in India.."
"India? What the hell are you doing there?"
"Titan radiation, made some pretty significant finds today with Maddie."
"Well, I've erased all of my other contacts except for you and my son. Son isn't a pilot and you can't fly an osprey from what I know, so how am I supposed to get back to the outpost now?"
"I guess you can head to the nearest military airport and check in, have a private jet fly you out to the outpost. You're a national hero, after all."
"Yeah, you're right. Well hopefully I'll be seeing ya soon."
With that, the two hung up as Ford continued to relax by the poolside area.
(Earth's Rightful Rulers Headquarters, Alaska)
Alan Jonah and his two elites, Floyd Sanders, and Alison Ford, sat within the control room of their main facility. A large dome shaped building attached to a mountain, they continued to receive messages from Ren Serizawa, who was deep beneath the ground in the hollow earth.
"Any updates on MechaGodzilla?" Jonah asked Ren, the leader of the Red Bamboo, and now the entire sagoth army, laughed.
"Yes, he is traversing through the hollow earth as we speak, he is heading towards the general area of Florida. His target at the moment is Outpost 54, they've set a few commands in his main computer for him to follow, destroying Monarch's flagship facility is one of them, destroying any city he comes across along the way."
"How far away is he?" Floyd asked, a smug grin on his face with his boots propped up against the table.
"Right now, he is traversing through a tunnel right underneath California. He first arrived on Monster Island, successfully demolishing Outpost 33." Ren answered.
The three in the control room looked at each other with looks of satisfaction, one of the most important outposts had been decimated by Mimic Godzilla. They didn't have to do anything, they could just let MechaGodzilla do the work.
"I will be alerted when he is coming to the surface, when this happens, I shall let you all know. You're going to need to attack the city as well in case if those Monarch dogs show up.." Ren continued, getting a groan out of Alan Jonah and Alison Ford, Floyd found their groans of annoyance quite comical.
"Why do we have to show up?" Jonah questioned.
"If the Skull Squadron of Outpost 54 arrive, chances are that they'll bring along an ORCA and get the real Godzilla out. Those people aren't dumb, I've seen the real Godzilla roaming around down here, his spines have been growing rapidly. They look drastically different compared to Fake Godzilla's spines."
"Fake Godzilla?" Alison asked.
"Fake Godzilla is MechaGodzilla with Godzilla flesh thrown over it, everything including the spines as well. His roar is different, the color of the atomic ray is different, the spines are different. You'll all eventually find out in time." Ren explained.
"I thought it was meant to take out Godzilla.." Alison said with a sigh.
"It is, but chances are that the G-Team will try to find some way to give that oversized lizard an advantage. You seen on the news how Godzilla beat that winged cat thing last year. He was given aid by that shrimp recruit, Vergil." Ren answered.
"Alright, let us know." Floyd answered, rubbing his hands in anticipation with a lick of his lips, ready to cause mayhem once again.
(A few hours later)
"Bro, you didn't have to shoot the man.." Andy Williams groaned to a raging Alan Haas, trying to calm him down within the docking bay of the aerial vehicles such as the osprey and other various jets and choppers. The room being incredibly huge, his voice echoing all across the walls.
"That bastard stole SEVERAL important things from the GDF, they have titan DNA and can create whatever they want. Those APEX cock-eaters are probably making titan bio-weapons as we speak, ones that we may not even be able to control!" Alan Haas fired back at one of his closest friends.
"Colonel Haas, relax." Laura said in a calm voice, rubbing down his beefy shoulders.
"I can't, Mercutio has been doing this for years, he probably knows everything we know by now!" Haas continued to scream furiously.
"Brayden, Vergil, and Germaine have gone up to the GDF base to try and find anything or seek out anything that may have been lost." Andy Williams said, patting down his friend on the back.
"Yes, we need to get those damn DNA vials back, or else who knows what titans we could see pop up within the next few years.." Alan groaned, sitting down on a nearby bench and placing his head into his rough hands.
"Don't we have mechanical weapons that can be used, Jet Jaguar is in late stages of his construction, he'll be of good use against bio-weapons. I am sure of it." Andy said, trying to reassure Alan.
"Bullshit, we haven't even seen how he fights and deals with threats!" Alan growled between gritted teeth.
"Give it time man.." Laura cooed, still trying to calm down Alan Haas but it clearly wasn't working.
"Give it time? We could try out Jet Jaguar on Godzilla, he's going rogue!"
Suddenly a UH-1 Iroquois lowered down onto a heli-pad nearby, which was strange considering it was at 2 in the morning, when everyone was supposed to be asleep or not training.
There appeared to be two passengers within the chopper, Andy Williams squinted his eyes to see who was within the chopper at such an hour before turning around to try and calm down Alan Haas, Laura looked at the chopper as a man stepped out. Her eyes narrowed in judgement as she seen her old general, Ford Brody standing before them all.
"As much as you would like to deny it, I'm back.."
