(No P.O.V.) -About 3 weeks later- (September 25, 1993)
It's a sunny day in the grounds of Hogwarts, and upon the seventh floor, through a door, is a whole forest/jungle combination, and there, in a clearing, running on four paws, is a enormous male lion with a slight mane. He's majestic, powerful as his brown coat gleams in the narrow sunlight, having light brown highlights and a dark brown mane/tail tuft. His steel gray eyes watches carefully as his ears twitch, listening for any sound.
Then the trees began to quiver, vibrate which earned the lion to look back with wide eyes, and ran even faster, panting as his paws barely touched the ground, and just as he was to reach a wide river, the lion was tackled by a black blur.
(Cedric's P.O.V.)
Surrendering on my back, I stared into emerald green eyes, and I chuffed, "I almost won, Rama.", calling him by his Marauder name. My soul-mate smirked, "But I caught you, Mufasa.", referring to my Marauder name before getting off, revealing himself as a large, slender saber-tooth cat. He has a raven black coat with dark gray highlights, and a dark cream underbelly.
I rolled over into my belly, getting up with a smile as I shifted back to normal, "You are getting faster these days, Harry.". Rama chuffed before shifting back to normal, "Thanks, Ced. You are getting pretty good at being in alert mode.".
I smiled softly, "What can I say? You are a brilliant teacher, love. This is the best birthday of my life, asking Dobby and his friends to make my favorite breakfast meal and dessert, and now this...".
Harry chuckled warmly, "Oh, the day isn't over yet. How about finally visiting the island?". I gasped softly, "You think I am ready?". I made a oath to keep Harry's secrets upon the day we bonded magically, and ever since then, he has been waiting for the perfect day to allow me into his home.
Harry leaned into my side, nuzzling softly, "Ced, you are more than ready.". I hugged him warmly, kissing him on the cheek, "I love you, Harry.". Harry smiled softly, and kissed me on the nose, "I love you, too.".
I chuckled softly, and I let go of him, "How do we get there?". Harry grinned lightly, "First, one thing, and then we will go, okay?". I nodded softly, and Harry then called for Dobby.
"What can Dobby do for Master Harry and Master Cedric?", Dobby spoke after popping over to us. Harry smiled, "Would you please get Hedwig? Tell her that we're going to the island, and I thought she might like some time for herself.". Dobby nodded with a grin, and popped out for a few seconds before appearing again with Hedwig twittering excitedly as she then glided up to Harry's shoulder.
I rubbed her chest feathers the way Harry taught me, "Hello, Hedwig. Can you believe it? Harry says that I am finally going to see the island.". Hedwig hooted deeply with a approving, warm look in her eyes, and I knew what it means that she's happy for me.
Harry laughed softly, "She's very delighted that you're coming along, and she hopes that you might find a familiar there.". I grinned softly, "A familiar? That would be brilliant!". Harry grinned lightly, and called out, "By a feather's flight", and a door appeared instantly, recognizing that this must be the password to call upon the shortcut from the Room of Requirements to the island.
Harry gripped my hand lovingly, "Let me show you my home.", looking at me with a content, warm expression, and I nodded, "Lead the way, my love.". Together, we went through the opening door, and exited into a room, a living room, seeing the incredible craft of the place.
I fell in love even further as Harry showed me his home, giving me a tour, and then even surprising me further when he asked me to be the co-owner. And of course, I gave a few droplets of my blood into the earth before I and Harry's manor, and there, I instantly felt the wardstones, the creatures, the land itself.
It wasn't even into a hour when I and Harry was walking through the valley, and a screech-thrill pierced the air. I looked up to see a large Griffin flying toward us, and I felt not anger or danger, but curiosity and hope as it landed before us, eyes locking upon mine.
I sensed that it's female, and that it's barely a adolescent, growing into her new height as her dark red fur contrasts with her bright blue eyes, the highlights of pale red in her wings, dark gold upon her foreclaws and beak, and a dark brown tuft on her lion tail, and a cream underbelly to tie it all.
Letting go of Harry's hand, I bowed to her in respect and honor slowly and carefully, feeling pleased surprise and respect in return, glancing to see her bowing back before walking up to me, and I lifted my hand up to touch her forehead as I closed my eyes, instantly feeling a probe at my mind, recognizing it as her bond probe.
Taking a deep breath, I opened my mindscape to her, and then I felt something snap to my mind, my core, my soul, my heart, and I heard her voice. I am your familiar, Master's soulmate.
I exhaled in amazement, opening my eyes, "You're my familiar?". She thrilled with a nod. Yes, I am. What is your name, Master's soulmate?
"Cedric. Cedric Diggory.", I spoke softly. Her eyes glimmered softly. A descendant of Helga Hufflepuff. I can sense your power, your core. You shall be a powerful wizard, just like your soulmate. May I receive a name of your choosing?
I blinked, "You don't have a name?". She shook her head gingerly. Everyone calls me Blue Eyes as it's rare for a Griffin, let alone, a female Griffin to have such eyes.
I nodded, "Ah, I see. A name...It has to be fitting yet fierce...Harry?". I looked over to Harry who shook his head with a smile, "I can't help you there. She's your familiar.".
I sighed softly with a nod of understanding, and I looked back at my Griffin familiar, still reeling a bit over the shock of this while taking a careful sweep of my eyes over her features, her looks, her personality which I can feel is of a fierce, compassionate, daring, and mature soul.
I searched through memories of books, people, and even movies toward female names that goes with that personality of my familiar, and narrowing them down to a few choice favorites. "Alright, I have found a few names that fits one or more elements of your personality. There's Nala, it means Queen. Or there's Matilda, it means strength, battle. Or finally, there's Rosmerta, I hear it's a goddess name.".
My familiar hummed as she sat down, thoughts on the names I have given in suggestion. Harry whispered softly to me, "Those are fine names, Ced.". I smiled warmly at him as a gesture of thanks before I turned to my familiar at the sound of purring. I will be Rosmerta. Rose for short.
I nodded with a wide smile, "Welcome to the family, Rose. Care to accompany us on our walk?". Rose nodded with a purr, walking alongside us, the sound of claws clicking upon the wide paved trails. I then spoke to Harry, "I'll say it again as I said it before. It has truly become the best birthday of my life.". Harry chuckled with a grin, nodding warmly.
