"He-hello?" Teddy answered the call nervously, she hadn't spoken to Owen on the phone in weeks.

"Where are you, where are my kids Teddy?"

Teddy swallowed.

"Well hello to you too…" She replied weakly.

"Teddy, I'm driving, so I couldn't text you. I just went to my moms to see my kids and no one was there…" Owen stated abruptly.

"She's with me, at Grey Sloan. The kids are up in day care but we're heading there now to get them and go back to her place so…we can meet you there? Maybe we can talk…?" Teddy asked with a hopeful undertone.

"No thanks. I have some errands to run anyway before heading back. I'll see them later or tomorrow." He replied coldly.

"Okay…" Teddy whispered.

"So…why were you at the hospital…is…everything okay?" Owen asked. You could hear in his voice that it pained him to even reference the baby.

"Yes, Owen. Your son is fine. It was a routine 16 week check up." Teddy replied with a lump in her throat.

Owen was silent. Truth be told his heart took a leap when Teddy revealed that her baby was a boy, but he still refused to believe that the baby was his, so his excitement diminished as quickly as it came on.

"Did you tell him?" Owen asked.

"Who?" Teddy played dumb because the last thing she wanted was to talk about Tom with Owen.

"Teddy…"

She took a deep breath.

"No, Owen. I didn't, because its not his baby. This is OUR baby, and it's none of his business!" Teddy shouted. By this point she was crying, She couldn't take it anymore, she needed Owen, she needed him to be there with her throughout this pregnancy, he had already missed as much as he missed with Allison and she didn't want that for their second child together.

Through the news of finding out the baby was a boy and Teddy already being four months pregnant, Owen was toying with the idea that maybe this baby could be his. Maybe the universe was trying to give him and Teddy a second chance with this baby. But even so, the sounds of Teddys guttural moans that he thought were made only for him taunted him constantly.

"Owen?" Teddy whimpered, as he hadn't responded to her outburst.

"I'm here," Owen snapped back to reality, "Teddy, I'm sorry but I can't take your word for it that this baby is mine, considering everything that's happened. I-I need proof…I need a DNA test and then…"

"And then we can finally talk? Because I need you Owen. I need to talk to you. I can't live without you. Owen, I'm so fucking sorry! I'm so, so sorry for doubting us, for doubting your love and running to that fucking snake!" Teddy hissed through clenched teeth.

At this point Owen was crying himself. He was waiting to hear those words from Teddys lips for so long, but he never could bare the thought of hearing her voice after what happened, so she never got the chance to say anything until now but God, she wanted to from the moment she decided she wanted nothing to do with Tom Koracick.

Owen sniffed and wiped his tears.

"Teddy, Teddy calm down. Take a breath. Get the paternity test and call me when you have the results and we'll meet…at the house. We'll talk."

"I already ordered the test, Owen. Today. Carina put a rush on them so I should have the results within 24 hours. But Owen, I have not doubted for one second that this is your child but I know you do, and I don't blame you for that so, I got the test."

Owen was shocked. She already ordered the test. Was she just saying that she didn't doubt the baby was his, or did she really not know and was simply covering her tracks? No, Teddy wouldn't lie about that, not about a child. Or would she?

"Call me when you get the results."

"Okay…Owen?"

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

Click.

"Is everything okay honey?" Evelyn, who had been standing by Teddys side, rubbing her back up and down during the whole conversation asked.

Teddy turned towards Evelyn with eyes full of tears but with a small smile drawn across her lips for the first time in weeks.

"He finally said he's willing to talk, but after I get the results." Teddy gasped.

"Well, that's great! That should be tomorrow, right?" Evelyn beamed.

Teddy nodded energetically.

"Yep. And then Owen can finally start getting to know his child and we can start our lives together again!" Teddy stated.

Evelyns face dropped slightly.

"Teddy, honey, you know it won't be that simple. Yes, Owen will be there for his child in every way he can be but, you two have a lot of work ahead of you. You need to have some tough conversations and you need to gain his trust back because like it or not Teddy, you did sleep with another man while you were engaged to my son." She said gently but stern.

"I know, and it tears me apart everyday what I did. Hurting him like that? I disgust myself. But I love him and I need to fix this not only for us but for this baby who's surely a bright light in this dark storm I've created." Teddy said sadly while she rubbed her little bump lovingly.

"You can't take all the blame, Teddy. Remember that. My son has hurt you too, many times and that couldn't have helped your decision making a few months ago."

"I know, I know." Teddy nodded in agreement.

"As I always say, everything will be alright love. Now come on, those sweet little munchkins of yours have been waiting patiently for you!"

Teddy could barely sleep that night. Sure, she had an excellent day. She found out her baby on the way was a boy, she heard Owens voice for the first time in months, he agreed to talk, she ordered a DNA test so she'd finally have the proof Owen needed, she had a lovely lunch with Evelyn and her babies...but yet, she still had that nagging thought in her mind. What IF the baby wasn't Owens? What if she really did get her dates mixed up? What if she really was carrying Tom Koracick's child, a child made from the most horrific situation she'd ever put herself in?

She was terrified. She was so sure up until this moment that her baby boy was Owens, but now her tired mind was spinning. What if, what if, what if? She refused to raise a child with Tom, but she couldn't terminate now or give her baby away at birth. What the fuck was she going to do if this baby wasn't Owens? She felt a panic attack coming on.

"He has to be Owens, he has to be Owens, he has to be Owens!" Teddy whispered through her tears and clenched teeth as she paced around her bedroom sweating and holding her bump.

Finally Teddy collapsed to the floor and sobbed the hardest she had in a very long time. She was scared, she was lonely and the only person who could make her feel calm and safe, was Owen. But he wasn't there, because she'd fucked everything up as she'd say herself over and over again.

The next morning, Allisons cries and Leos whimpers awoke Teddy by 5a.m. She was exhausted. She maybe got about an hour and a half of sleep total. Dark circles hung under her eyes and her back was killing her from the constant tossing and turning throughout the night, not to mention that she was was carrying a life inside her.

Once Teddy got the kids fed, dressed and ready to go to Evelyns she anxiously awaited Carina's phone call or text.

"Have you heard anything yet?" Evelyn asked as she took the kids from Teddy and got them settled in for the day.

"No but I'm dying over here. I just want the results already so I can speak to Owen." Teddy rambled.

"Well, its only 8a.m. honey, the test was sent in around 10a.m. yesterday so, it may be a couple of more hours at least until it's ready." Evelyn said with a warm smile.

Teddy nodded solemnly.

"I know. I'm going to go home to try and get some rest before Carina calls and I have to face the music, I didn't sleep a wink last night. I feel like I've been run over by a truck five times over…"

Evelyn smiled at her and rubbed her arm lovingly.

"Get some rest, sweetheart. And call me later when you have good news."

Teddy hugged Evelyn, kissed Leo and Allison goodbye and headed back to her empty home.

Once settled back in, Teddy made a hot cup of herbal tea, changed into her sweats and curled up on the sofa with her favorite pink blanket. It still smelled like Owen, she and him would wrap themselves in this blanket nearly every night, before everything fell apart.

Teddys phone rang and jolted her out of a deep sleep she didn't even realize she was having. It was Carina. Her heart skipped a beat as she pressed ACCEPT on the call and put the receiver to her ear.

"Hello?" She answered nervously.

"Teddy! Good morning, we have your test results ready." Carina replied.

Oh my god, thought Teddy, the moment was finally here and now she didn't know if she was ready for it.

"Thank you," Teddy swallowed, "I'll be there as soon as I can."

"I'll be here," Carina said cheerfully, "no laboring moms for me yet!"

Teddy slowly pulled herself together, freshened up and dressed to head over to Grey Sloan.

"Okay sweetheart," she said rubbing her belly where she felt the slightest of flutters from her baby boy, "this is it. You're going to meet your daddy today…"

And with that, Teddy headed out the door to seal her and her family's fate.
