Chapter 6: Entangled Between Threads (part 1)

A couple of weeks passed. Bubble Guppies continued with their school and social routines.

But one of them ran into an unexpected surprise. Several days ago, Gil began to notice that a girl was interested in him. He decided to give that girl a chance. That young woman was none other than Jane. During that period of time, they both started dating. It seems that Gil began to be interested in Jane as she was for him. Finally, they both ended up in a relationship. Maybe it was very fast but that did not stop the couple. We'll look at five of the Bubble Guppies that were on the school campus. There was Molly, Goby, Deema, Oona, and Nonny.

"Does anyone know anything about Gil? I haven't heard from him in a long time" Goby asked.

"I don´t know" Oona answered.

"Neither do I" Deema added. Nonny just shook his head "Molly, you are his best friend. You must know something"

"Well…..I….ummmm" Molly said. It seems that she knew something but it seemed that she did not feel like saying it. Her expression showed discomfort. Immediately someone appeared.

"Oh...hi guys!...Sorry if I didn't write to you or something. I was very busy" Gil appeared.

"You? Busy? With what?" Deema asked confused.

"Well ... I was dating someone ... Guys, I want to introduce you to my new girlfriend Jane" Gil introduced her.

"Oh….you must be his best friends. He told me good things of you…" Jane said. Discreetly she casts a hateful look at Molly. Molly decided to ignore it.

"Oh yeah…..Nice to meet you…." Deema said.

"The feeling is mutual, Deema Wahler" Jane answered sarcastical.

"Wow, I didn't know you were dating Jane. You are very lucky to date the most beautiful and popular girl in school" Goby said. The blonde looked him annoyed. But nobody noticed it.

"Thanks, buddy. Guys, we could all go eat somewhere" Gil proposed.

"But honey, you promised me that we were going to eat just the two of us" Jane said that in an innocent tone.

"I did?" Gil asked confused. She just nodded her head "Well….Then it will be another time. You guys don't mind me leaving?"

"Of course not, Gilly. We will be fine. Have fun together" Moly said with a fake smile.

"Thanks, Molly. You are the best friend I could have" Gil smiled innocently "See you, guys"

He decided to go with Jane to have lunch together. She discreetly smirked at her adversary, Molly.

"Wow ... she really hates you" Oona noticed it.

"I do not get it. I haven't done anything to her. She has Gil" Molly asked confused.

"She is so mean" Deema said.

"That bad! You should have taken advantage when you could" Goby said.

"What are you talking about?" Molly asked.

"We have to explain? We literally all know you liked Gil for a long time" Goby answered.

"Hey! What makes you believe that?" Molly asked annoyed.

"You are very obvious. Only Gil is so naive as not to notice" Nonny commented seriously. She blushed.

"But what's the point? For him I will always be his best friend. Nothing will change that. Also, Gil loves Jane. All I can do is let him be happy with her" Molly confessed sadly.

"Molly…..are you okay?" Oona asked very worried for her friend.

"I'll be fine ... I just want to be ... alone" Molly said before she left the gang.

"I know her very well ... She won't be fine" Deema asked.

"So what can we do?" Oona questioned.

"For now we will do nothing" Nonny answered. The rest were shocked.

"Don't you mind Molly?" Goby asked.

"I care about her like you do. But I also respect Gil's feelings. If he decided to date Jane and not Molly, he must have feelings for Jane. And we as good friends must respect his decision" Nonny explained with a cold mind. The rest were silent.

Gil and Jane were in Gil´s house They wanted to make a homemade cake. While both prepared the ingredients. Gil decided to do something a little crazy.

"Do not worry my love. I will take care of this" Gil said before he took all the ingredients and mixed them in the food blender. He turned it on. But it put so much power that the mixture ended up spread out in part of the kitchen. Gil and Jane ended up muddy from the mix "Hehehe...Well….That was unexpected...Eh?"

"You...stupid idiot! You messed up my dress. It seems that you are a fool who does not know what you do" Jane shouted.

"I'm sorry, honey…." Gil apologized very sad. No one had ever said such cruel things to him

"What are you waiting for? Do something useful and clean up this mess" Jane ordened.

"Can you….help me with this?" Gil asked nervous.

"And I why? You were the one who did this, not me. Hurry up before I get mad at you anymore…..By the way, you owe me a new dress" Jane said that like she was the boss.

"Yes...Yes, honey" Gil said a little scared. But at the same time, sad. "(Molly would not have done this. She would have laughed at me and then helped me)" He thought.

A few days later, Gil was walking in the park with his girlfriend Jane. They both sat on a bench to hang out together. But it seems like she had to go for a moment.

"Honey, I have to go get something. I'll be right back" Jane told him.

"Do you want me to accompany you?" Gil asked politely.

"Emmm no...I'll be okay. Just wait here" Jane answered before she left. Gil was boring in this moment. He decided to check his phone. He noted that days ago he had not written to Molly. He noted that she was not feeling well even if she pretended otherwise. He knew her more than anyone. So he decided to write to him

Gil: Hey Molly! How have you been?

Molly: Hi! I'm fine and you?

Gil: Great. I want to talk with you.

Molly: Really? What is it?

Gil: You didn't look very good the last time we saw each other. In fact, ever since I introduced you to Jane. Are you really ok?

Molly: No...I'm fine. I just…..was tired….That's all.

Gil: Molly….You may can lie to the rest of Bubble Guppies….but you can't lie me. I know you very well. You aren´t fine.

Molly: I´m not lying. I´m really okay.

Gil: Molly...You can count with me with everything. Just because I have a girlfriend doesn't mean I'm going to push my friends aside. You are my best friend. You can trust me.

Molly: Really?

Gil: Yup…..Tell me...What's the matter?

(Molly is writing)

But in that moment, somebody took his cellphone. It was his girlfriend.

"Gil….Who the hell were you talking to?" Jane asked.

"Hey! Give back it! At least you should have asked for it" Gil said bothered.

"Just answer me! WHO were you talking to?" She started to check his phone.

"With Molly…..I think she needed my help" Gil confessed.

"That pink-haired brunette ... I don't like her. I'm going to ask you not to write or speak to that b*tch again" She ordered very angry.

"Than? You can't do this to me. She is my best friend from my childhood" Gil said that worried. Jane took him by the neck threateningly.

"It is not "if you want" or not. That's an order" She said very scary. Jane left him and she gave him his phone "Don't bother, I deleted all your messages and blocked your contacts. You can unlock them if you want but they no longer have any messages"

"But...Why do you dislike Molly? Did she do something to you?" Gil asked innocently.

"You don't care, you idiot! The only woman you can have in your life is me...GET IT!" Jane shouted him again….He just nodded.

In another time, Gil was alone in his house. He was boring. So he wrote Goby to see if they can play video games at home. Gil wanted the rematch. But he received another message. It was Jane.

Jane: Hey, sweetie! You can come by me to go shopping together ;)

Gil: Sorry, honey. But I will spend time with my friend Goby. I already had that commitment. Maybe another time.

Jane: I don't think so. Stop lying. Obviously it's to go see HER.

Gil: What are you talking about? He is my best friend.

Jane: I do not care. Our relationship is more important than everything else.

Gil: But we already go out all the time. I shouldn't always leave my friends for you.

Jane: Shut up! Starting today ... You will no longer go out with your friends, Bubble whatever they are called.

Gil: We are Bubble Guppies and you're not going to order me that. They are my true friends.

After a few exhausting days for our protagonist, we return to school. Deema, Goby, Oona and Nonny were talking together.

"Do you know anything about Molly?" Goby asked worried.

"She decided to be alone….again" Deema answered.

"She just need time" Nonny answered,

"By the way….Where is Gil? We didn't see him for a long time" Oona asked. In this moment, Gil appeared covering his right cheek.

"Hey, guys" Gil said.

"Why are you covering your cheek?" Goby asked. He showed them a slap mark "Wow...

That had to hurt. Was it your mother?"

"No...It was Jane" Gil said it reluctantly.

"Did you do or say something to her?" Oona asked.

"Maybe I made her a little mad. But I don't think it was that bad. I think she exaggerated a lot" Gil answered.

"Hahaha now you are like her dog. Doing what she tells you only" Goby laughed a little.

"Shut up!" He was annoyed.

"Most likely, you deserved it" Deema commented.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Gil asked bothered.

"It is obvious that if a girl hits a boy it is because he did something that bothered her" Deema answered very confident.

"Please…...I haven't done anything silly lately ... Please, Nonny. You are the most reasonable person here" Gil said that very sad. Nonny thought a lot.

"I have to admit it. Deema has a good point" Nonny answered quietly.

"You too!" Gil said annoyed. Nonny just shrugged "Agh…..Thanks for nothing, friends" He decided to go away.

"Should we worry about it?" Oona asked curiously.

"Nah…. It is just a simple couple discussion. It is normal in relationships" Deema answered without problems.

Gil decided to find another person who could help him. He knew one person who he can trust. Although his girlfriend forbade him, he would ignore that order and search for his best friend Molly. Finally found her.

"Molly….I've been looking for you everywhere. I need your help" Gil said. But she didn't want to see him. "Emmmm Molly….Are you okay?"

"Gil ... are we really friends?" Molly asked sadly.

"Of course. Why do you ask this?" Gil answered innocently.

"Because you've been ignoring me ever since you started dating Jane. We don't go out with our friends anymore. You don't want to be with our friends anymore. You do not want to be with me anymore. For you, only Jane matters" Molly confessed very sad. Gil was shocked. He knew perfectly well why. His girlfriend was controlling his social life. He was starting to see that allowing that in their relationship was wrong.

"Molly…..I´m sorry for all of this. I was just doing that because ..." Gil wanted to tell her the truth but…...Jane appeared behind Molly. She gave him a murderous look. From her body expression, she looked annoyed and was insinuating that he move away from her immediately "Because….I…..I…..I…"

"What are you saying?" Molly asked confused.

"Well...I….I…..I prefer to stay with her…..than with you" Gil lied very nervous.

"But what are you saying? Gil, we have been your friends for a long time. You can't let a girl control you" Molly said very worried.

"You do not understand anything. I love her and I don't want them to get in the way of our relationship" Gil was pretending all of this. But Molly can´t notice his lie this time "You know? I never want to see you again. I don't want you to look for me again"

"Gilly…...I didn't think that about you ... And I thought I liked you" Molly confessed with tears in her eyes.

"Wait….What?!" Gil was shocked.

"NEVERMIND…...If you want me to leave you alone ... I will ... Goodbye Gil Gordon" Molly said that crying and ran away.

"Molly, wait! I didn't…" But it was too late. She left him alone. Gil was very upset by himself. Jane was smiling in satisfaction with everything she saw.

"Very good, my love. You have already understood how this works. You won't need that b*tch anymore. Since you have me" Jane said hugging him. But he denied it.

"Jane….we have to talk. I love you and all that but ... we can't continue like this. You want me to be someone I am not" Gil started to explain this situation.

"Gil…..Don´t be silly. I just want you not to be stupid. Please, mature" Jane said.

"Maybe I'm dumb and sometimes immature, but I'm not idiot. It just part of my personality and you don't like this. Also, you manipulate and control all my relationships. You don't want me to be with my best friend Molly. You don't want me to be with my friends. You don't want me to be with my family. You just want me to be with you" Gil explained annoyed.

"Gil...shut up…." She ordered.

"No!...This time no!...And for a change you always make me feel bad. First you attack me with insults that hurt me. Then you started with pinching and pulling ears. And you started with the slaps too. You treat me like I'm trash!" Gil said that with some tears.

"I said….SHUT UP" Jane hit him in the face with a punch. Gil started to rub his battered cheek a little.

"You...you….you hit me!" Gil was scared.

"And what do you plan to do about it? So you will learn to obey" Jane said rudely.

"That's it! It's over! You and I have to break" Gil said that very confident with his decision. But she wagged her finger in denial. And she smirked.

"Oh no no no no. You and I are not finished with our relationship" She said that evilly.

"My opinion also counts. So I decide to end you" Gil answered.

"Tsk Tsk I don´t think so. I decide when our relationship ends. You will remain mine until I get bored of you" Jane confessed.

"You can't force me to be with you" Gil shouted.

"But, honey…..I can do it. So you say that I constantly hit you" Jane asked. He just nodded "It is a pity that no one will believe that. You seriously think that someone will believe that nonsense that a woman hits a man. No no no. But ... oh sure ... what if I say you hit me ... Wow ... everyone would believe me" She said that with a provocative tone.

"What?" Gil asked.

"If I say you hit me, I can sue you. The police could issue you a fine. Or worse, to prison for violence against women. Everyone would see you as a fucking women attacker for your whole life" Jane said that with a evilly tone.

"But that's not true! You are the one who hits me!" Gil screamed desperate.

"Hahahahahaha And who will believe you? Even your friends don't believe you. And the police less. That is us of the advantages that we have the women before the law in these times" Jane said that with malice "Oh….And by the way ... Don't you dare tell ANYONE about this. I can ruin your life if I want. Hahahahaha" Saying that, she decided to leave while bragging about her manipulation. She knew she had Gil cornered.

Gil felt very helpless. At the same time, sadness and loneliness. I couldn't count on anyone. His friends did not believe him. He hurt Molly just for fear of her. And now he had to do what Jane wanted without opposing her. He decided to go to a place where he could be alone. And he could only download everything he felt at that moment in tears. No one would be there to comfort him. He was completely alone in this.

"WHAT I AM GOING TO DO?" He screamed without stopping crying.
