Chapter 10: Wolf in sheep's clothing (part 3)

It was the height of Goby's patience. Normally Goby is a calm boy, but seeing everything that James prepared to separate him from Deema so he could stay with her was unforgivable. He decided to look for the rest of his friends to finally explain what had happened. From the time he met him to the incident with Deema.

"Are you sure of what you're saying?" Oona asked.

"I´m very sure. That subject is the only one capable of planning this. He knows how I feel about Deema" Goby said that. The rest were silent for a long time until one of them decided to speak.

"I believe you, friend. I know how it feels that nobody believes you because of someone else's fault" Gil confessed remembering his nightmare with Jane.

"If that's true, we have problems. That James then must be a very intelligent and calculating person" Nonny commented.

"You´re right. He planned it very well. Deema won't believe me until I get hard evidence" Goby said sadly.

"Brilliant. Another manipulator to deal with. We stopped Jane, we will do the same with James" Molly said.

"I don't think it's possible to do it again. James is more cautious than Jane. Also, Deema trusts him" Goby said.

"Mmmmmm cautious? You must have seen something. Any idea how he did it?" Nonny asked.

"Obviously he didn't do it alone. He had help. They must have been his friends" Goby said.

"Help? Hehehehe I have a idea. How to stop a deceiver? With a much greater deception" Gil proposed.

"And now what crazy idea do you have in your head, Gilly?" Molly asked not very convinced.

"For the first time in my life, I am very confident about this plan. The first thing you have to do is ... " Gil started to explain his crazy plan to stop James.

Meanwhile, James and Deema were sitting on a bench on the college campus.

"What happens? You don't look very good" James asked. She sighted.

"I think ... I should have let Goby explain himself" Deema confessed sadly.

"Why do you say that? He didn't even bother to let you know before" James said starting to be nervous. But still, keeping his posture.

"Because I know him since childhood. He would never do that on purpose. He must have an explanation for what happened last night. I should have let him speak but ... I just didn't" Deema explained.

"He….hit me! Doesn't that matter?" James said.

"I can not take this. I have to speak to him immediately" Deema said that.

"Why? Why do you care about someone who doesn't interest you?" James tried to convinced her like he usually do with everybody.

"Because….I love him. He is important to me and deep down I know he cares about me. We just have to talk calmly and everything will be resolved between us" Those words started to hurt James's pride a little.

"I don't think it's a good idea. Chances are he doesn't want to see you. He did not look very comfortable since the incident" James invented that excuse. But in this moment, a message reached Deema's cell phone. Was Goby's

Goby: Hi, Deema! Look, I know I spoil everything. I want to apologize for my attitude a few hours ago. I was upset at the time. But I'd like to talk about it after school in the cafeteria we went to yesterday. I would like to clear things up and not let this ruin our friendship.

Deema: Hi, Goby! Sure, I'd like to talk to you about it. We can talk calmer. See you there.

"And what do you plan to do?" James asked.

"I'll talk with him later. I can't stay mad at him. It wouldn't be good for both of us" Deema answered.

"But are you sure he will be there? He disappointed you once" James tried to sow a little doubt in her.

"You are right about that. But I still want to trust him at least one more time. I have to go to class. See you later James!" Deema left him. When she left, James became angry that what he did earlier was not enough to separate Goby and Deema.

"WHAT THE F*CKS DO I HAVE TO DO TO SEPARATE THEM ONCE AND FOR ALL!" James said that angrily without anyone else hearing him. Then, he retired to plan another trap for Goby. But this time, someone was sneaking up on him. It was Gil.

A few hours of classes passed before the much-dreaded class departure finally arrived. Both Goby and Deema returned to their homes and arranged themselves better to meet. Finally, Goby is ready and receives a call. It was Gil.

"Gil, I am considering this to be a bad idea" Goby said.

"Do not worry. With the hearing aid Nonny gave you, he will tell you who the actors are and who they are not. Molly, Oona and I will create distractions for James' friends. Just listen to Nonny and everything will be fine" Gil explained.

"Gil….Thanks. You´re a good friend. My best friend" Goby confessed.

"No problem, buddy. Now you have to go make Deema happy ... And make James fall" Gil finished the call. Goby was more prepared to face the sabotage of James.

He started his way to the cafeteria where he would meet Deema. The first few minutes nothing happened out of the ordinary. Two people in disguise appeared. One was a woman and the other a thief who was taking her purse. Nonny immediately warned Goby that they were the actors. So Goby ignored them and continued on her way. The crabs got upset and decided to sneak away for another distraction, but two guppies were waiting for them with duct tape in their hands.

"Where do you think you are going?" Molly said with a confident smile.

"Oh oh" The crabs said worried.

"I'll enjoy this" Gil said. They tied up James's two friends. It would be hard for those crabs to get rid of it.

"Gil, do you think it's okay to leave them tied up?" Molly asked worried.

"Nah….They are bad. Also, we will back to free them. But now, let's stop the rest. Only two more left and James" Gil sad that very calm.

Goby later encountered a strange police fish. The latter stopped him with the excuse that he is looking for a criminal similar to Goby. Before he could stop him, Goby was warned by Nonny once more and manages to run away from him. The alleged police were going to catch Goby, but a real policeman came to catch the fake.

"Stop! An adorable young lady reported a subject posing as a police officer. You appear to be a minor. I hope your parents give you a well-deserved punishment" A police officer stopped other James´s friend. The police took the young man to his respective house and speak to his parents. The young woman who alerted the police officer was Oona. She communicated with the rest of the guppies.

"The biggest is out. Three less and one left" Oona said.

The last one was setting up a trap to ruin Goby. He was determined to put on a street vendor suit to distract Goby. But while the suit was possible, behind him the three guppies appeared. They were Gil, Molly and Oona.

"Don't even try it, dwarf" Gil threatened him. The intimidated little crab decided to run away like a coward.

"You don't think you went too far with him" Oona said.

"Maybe…." Gil answered nervous.

Finally, Goby arrived on time for his meeting with Deema. She was outside the cafeteria waiting.

"You did come after all" Deema was happy.

"Of course you are, you are important to me. I would never leave you standing without justification. Do you want to go in and eat something? Then we can continue talking" Goby said that smiling at her. As you can imagine, they went in and ordered their food. After they finished eating they decided to talk.

"Goby ... I ... I'm so sorry. I should have let you explain what happened last night. I shouldn't have gotten mad like that" Deema confessed.

"I accept your apology. But I also ask for your forgiveness. I shouldn't have attacked James. I should have told you what happened to me with ease. I let my anger control me" Goby added.

"So….are we friends again?" Deema asked.

"We never stop being friends. Do not worry. Now I will tell you what happened to me last night" Goby decided to tell her. He told him about the alleged assault. He just didn't tell her it was all a sham by James. If he said it, she might not believe him.

At that moment, they both left the cafeteria. They both looked happy. At that moment James appeared. Immediately he was surprised to see Goby.

"Go...Go...Goby! I didn't expect to see you here ... with Deema. I thought you would have better ... things to do" James began to sweat with nervousness.

"Oh. Hi James! Goby and I solved our problem, isn't it great?" Deema said with happiness.

"Yes, of course, very well ... I'm so happy for you" James was lying. He was nervous and angry at the same time.

"Hey James! Why are you sweating? Are you hot or something?" Goby started to teasing him.

"I think it's that" James answered quickly. But his body language did not convince either of them.

"Seriously? But it is 6 pm. Rather it's getting cold" Deema questioning him. James was more nervous.

"I think you're like this because you saw me here. Did you think I would be somewhere else? Like helping a "lady" who "stole" her bag. Or that a "police" stopped me. Or some silly distraction? Huh?" Goby smirked. Normally, James would have a smart answer. But thanks to the pressure Goby put on him from the start, he began to give up his acting skills because his nerves did not allow him to think clearly.

"Goby….What the hell are you talking about?" Deema had no idea of this.

"Admit it, James. You sabotaged me last night with the help of your friends and tried to do it today too. But you know? My friends stopped yours this time. You better confess, your friends are not here to save you" Goby smirked. This make him angry.

"Goby, do you still have that idea that it's his fault?" Deema was not convinced.

"Ye...yeah. It's ridiculous! Hehehehe You have no proof of anything!" James believed he would save himself from this, but ...

"In fact ... yes I do. I just have to ask Nonny to send them to me and we'll all know your true face ... Isn't that right, James Graham?" Goby smiled smugly. It was the breaking point for James. Goby anticipated all his movements.

"NO! It can be possible! Everything was coldly calculated" James accidentally confessed. He covered his mouth when he realized that he fell straight into Goby's trap.

"What? You did WHAT? I demand a good explanation!" Deema crossed her arms. James already knew there was no going back.

"Emmm...well….emmmm….(sigh) Goby ... he was right. I planned everything. The alleged assault, I delayed Goby last night to his own. And I tried it recently" James confessed finally.

"Why? I trusted you! You were a close friend to me!" Deema was angry.

"Because….because…..Goby and I feel the same way about you. We are both in love with you. I told him only one of us would make it" James added. That was unexpected for Goby.

"What? Really?" Deema was shocked.

"Well ... actually ... I mmmmm" Goby was blushed. He didn't expect James to give him away.

"Goby was doing well. So I decided to sabotage you so that you would separate and I would have the opportunity. What I did not expect is that you were in love with Goby from the beginning" James said that. Deema blushed. But she approached him and hit him in his face.

"Your! Damn double-faced traitor! How dare you mess with the boy I like? You should have respected my decision as a good friend would. But I see that you're just a liar and manipulator. Let's go, Goby!" She didn't want to be with him anymore.

"But….Goby….How you stopped my plan?" James asked confused.

"You aren´t the only one with friends" Goby answered and left him alone with Deema.

Finally they could both be alone.

"So….are you in love with me?" Goby asked nervous.

"...Yeah…...Actually, I fell in love with you recently. I thought I only saw you as a friend like in kindergarten. But then little by little I was attracted by your beauty and personality. You are a kind and tender boy. And you endure my follies" Deema blushed.

"I ... fell in love with you recently. You are a beautiful girl and I like the way you are. You are funny, responsible, and perhaps somewhat dramatic, but that is part of your charm. And for that and more I love you" Goby blushed. He started to get closer to her.

"And….I love you too, Goby" Deema confessed. In this moment, they ended up kissing. The movements were a little more abrupt than normal but it did not remove the tender. Unknown to them, Gil, Molly and Oona saw them from afar

"Awwwww that's cute" Molly and Oona said.

"Cheesy but it works. I know this from my own experience" Gil said that while flirtatiously looking at Molly. He kissed her cheek. "Let's go home. It's too late"

"Ummm Gilly?" Molly asked.

"Yeah?" Gil said.

"Don't you think we forgot something?" Molly asked confused.

"If we forget it shouldn't have been anything important, right?" Gil answered without any concern.

In another place on the other hand

"Hello? Can someone get us out of here? Someone?" The two crabs (James´s friends) stayed tied.

"Decided! I will never help James ever again!" The other complained.
