Chapter 11: Nonny´s First Kiss (part 1)

It had been a few weeks since Goby and Deema formalized their relationship after the incident with James. It was finally a nice weekend. After tedious hours of classes and in addition to people who just screwed up the lives of our protagonists, they decided to take a couple of days off on the beach. The first day the young guppies got up very early. They took a few suitcases and met at the bus station.

"How good that we can get out of the city for a couple of days. They don't know how much it cost me to convince my parents to let me go" Molly said.

"It seems they don't trust me much yet" Gil smiled at his girlfriend.

"In fact, they were not going to let me go for you" Molly told smirked a little.

"Hey!" Gil got a little upset. The rest giggled.

"Deema, darling ... Why did you bring so many things? We will only be a couple of days" Goby asked.

"I….will...need...all...of...this...Ufff" Deema said that while bringing her suitcase that was full "Can you help me with this?"

"(sigh) That will hurt my back" Goby said that before helping his girlfriend carry the suitcases to the bus. Gil does the same to Molly. Oona and Nonny then enter with their respective suitcases.

"I'm glad the six of us finally got out together. It is a good idea to clear yourself of everything. With the sun, the breeze, the sea" Oona commented.

"It is good to rest a little from our responsibilities. I was starting to get stressed" Nonny added.

"Beach here we go!" Deema said that very excited.

Finally, they entered the bus and then it started and headed for their destination. It took a few hours on the bus. They sat in pairs like Gil and Molly, Goby and Deema, Oona and Nonny. Then, they reached their destination, a beautiful and refreshing beach. The guppies came down with their suitcases and took them to the cabins that were going to stay for that couple of days. Due to local policies (and to avoid future misunderstandings), they decided that the boys would settle in one cabin and the girls in another.

In the boys room.

"Some time ago I wanted to come to a beach or a swimming pool. Super refreshing. No teachers and no homework" Gil commented.

"Either that or you wanted to see Molly in a swimsuit" Goby smiled mischievously.

"That's not true! And why do you suddenly take that out? Do you want to see Deema in a swimsuit? Gil blushed. This caused Goby to blush too.

"You two should control your hormones a little" Nonny rolled his eyes.

"Leaving that aside. Gil, do you remember your first kiss?" Goby was looking for a topic of conversation.

"Sure, that day is unforgettable. In fact, all the Bubble Guppies were there. In kindergarten. One day I don't remember how it happened but I fell on Molly and we accidentally kissed" Gil said nervous.

"Yeah I remember it. You should have seen our expressions and Mr. Grouper's. It was very funny" Goby added "Let's see. My first kiss was with a friend from school. She seems to like me so we sneakily kissed. But then I found out that within a few months she liked another"

"That's sad" Gil answered.

"Maybe. But a year and a half later the Bubble Guppies met once more ... And you know, I knew Deema better than before and the rest is history" Goby explained "And what about you, Nonny? Have you already given your first kiss?"

"Well…..no" Nonny said quietly.

"WHAT? The first kiss is a very important thing for teens" Gil said.

"I am not very interested. I consider the first kiss to be a special moment and it would be good to save it for a special person" Nonny explained.

"Someone special? And who could that person be?" Goby asked curiously.

"Right now, I can't think of anyone specifically" Nonny answered "Let's not waste any more time and let's go to the beach. The girls must be waiting for us"

"They are girls, they will take a good time" Gil answered.

At that moment, the boys came out of the cabin after changing a little. Gil had a light blue with white shorts. Goby had another dark blue shorts. Nonny wore orange shorts and a white tank top. He had a white cap to protect himself from the sun.

"Where are they?" Gil asked.

"Miss me, Gilly?"

Girls surprised boys. Molly had a blue and pink two-piece swimsuit. Deema had a yellow two-piece orange dotted swimsuit too. Besides that she had dark sunglasses. Oona had a striped purple one-piece swimsuit. For a few seconds, the three boys are amazed to see the girls.

"I think they are already watching a lot" Deema giggled.

"Oh...emmmmm….well…..emmmmm" The three boys apologied. The girls giggled a little.

"Don't be like this and you could help us put sunscreen on our backs" Molly said. For a few seconds the boys blushed a little. But they weren't stupid and helped the girls with their favor.

"Alright! It's beach time!" Deema shouted happily

At first, Gil and Molly decided to enter in the sea to play together. Oona and Goby played beach volleyball. Deema and Nonny lay down on some beach benches with an umbrella. The ginger boy was reading a book while Deema was getting a little tan. Finally it was time for lunch. They decided to order food at a kiosk near the booths. The girls and the boys decided to eat separately. So they could talk to each other without much problem.

With boys´s side.

"Hey Nonny! We wanted to talk about something important" Gil said. Nonny looked him confused.

"All right, what is it about this time?" Nonny asked.

"Well….Gil and I were thinking that these days that we are on the beach would be a perfect opportunity for you to give your first kiss" Goby proposed.

"Are you serious? I don't think it's that important. Also, I can't think who I could give it to" Nonny said.

"You know something? I think I have the right person for you on my mind" Gil smiled mischievously.

"I do not know. Maybe SOME friend of yours. Someone you have known for years" Goby added with a mischievous smile too.

"Mmmmm I dunno" Nonny said. Gil and Goby facepalmed.

"It´s obvious. It´s Oona" Gil said. Nonny blushed thinking the strange idea to….kiss her?

"Oona?...Well…..I had never thought of it that way. I always saw her as ... my closest friend. Enough to call her my best friend" Nonny said.

"Then she is the perfect candidate. You won't have a problem asking her to kiss" Gil tried to convince him.

"It's not that easy, Gil" Nonny said.

"Why?" Gil asked confused.

"Well…"

"Finally a beach weekend was what I needed. Sun, fresh air, milkshakes, without worries ... and many handsome boys" Deema said.

"Don't abuse too much, friend. You don't want Goby to be jealous" Molly giggled.

"Come on, we can't deny the truth. Don't play innocent, Molly. You saw pretty boys too" Deema added.

"Maybe. But my eyes are always on my Gilly. I would never try to be with others. I love him very much" Molly confessed.

"Hey, Oona! You are the only one with the right to see boys freely. Has anyone caught your attention a lot?" Deema joked. But Oona wasn't very happy.

"What use is that if ... nobody notices me" Oona said sadly.

"Girl….something is wrong?" Deema asked.

"I am seeing myself in this swimsuit. Do you seriously think I'm thick?" Oona asked.

"You look good, that's what matters" Molly said.

"Girls, be honest. I am the thickest of the three. I see myself fat. Do you seriously believe that a boy will notice me?" Molly and Deema looked at each other in silence.

"You are not fat, friend. You are in good shape. You may be a little thick but you're fine. You will see how a boy will notice you sooner or later" Molly said.

"I would say that very early ... Look ... that handsome boy over there is rolling his eyes at you, friend" Deema said pointing a very handsome male guppy. It was a boy with long black hair, brown skin. Its tail was dark green in a dark camouflage style. He had black shorts. And he had a body marked with a few abs and light muscles "And….he is coming"The boy approaches the girls with a slightly seductive look. He moved his eyebrows lightly as a flirting technique.

"Hiya, girls! You seem to be hotter than the sun itself" The guy flirted. Molly and Deema giggled a little.

"Not so fast, tiger. You are attractive and everything but my friend and I are already engaged to other boys" Deema said "But…...she…..is available...right, Oona?" Deema smiled mischievously.

"Huh? Emmmmm right?" Oona answered nervously.

"I don't think it's a good idea, Deema" Molly whispered Deema´s ear.

"Don´t worry. He can be a good candidate for Oona" Deema said smoothly.

"Hi, beautiful! I see that you are the only one available in your group of friends. You are just as beautiful as they are. You are thick but that's how I like them" The guy said flirting.

"Who….who are you?" Oona asked nervously.

"Me?...Oh...my manners. I´m Chase. Perfect lover for any girls hehehe…. Just kidding" He smiled at her.

"Well…...I´m Oona" She answered shyly.

"Shy? Girls like that are always the cutest. I'm sorry for my daring but you ... you just caught my attention" He smiled.

"Jijiji it´s strangely cute" Oona giggled.

Back with the boys. They looked that scene.

"Oh oh….Nonny…..You don't want to see it" Gil said.

"Is something bad or…? ...Oh" Nonny froze to see that scene. The boy and Oona seem to be laughing and having a good time together. In that instant, something strange and not at all pleasant happened inside him.

"Nonny? Are you okay?" Goby asked worried.

"Oh….nothing. I ... it seems good that Oona finally meets a boy to ... date" Nonny answered with a disappointed tone.

"Nonny, tell us the truth. We can hide your secret. Trust us" Gil said. Although they had an idea what it was about, Nonny never confirmed anything to them.

"I ... well ... I ... (sigh) ... I'm in love with Oona" Nonny finally confessed.

"Wow ... this is ... unexpected to me" Gil added.

"Really? I saw it coming" Goby rolled his eyes.

"But ... I am very unsure of myself. Who girl in the world would date a weirdo and nerdy boy like me? That boy over there has it all to get Oona's attention. He is handsome, strong and charismatic. While I ... (sigh) I'm skinny, weak, muscleless, and a complete weirdo" Nonny was sad. Gil and Goby looked at each other silently. They stayed like that for a long time and decided to talk.

"Nonny, don't think that about yourself. You are a great person and a great friend. You are not weird for us. You're a little different but that's not a bad thing" Gil comforted him.

"Gil is right. And I know that Oona loves you too. Please, I know her well too. She is not one of those girls who is fooled by any handsome boy. She fixes on feelings first of all. And I'm sure he wants you. I see how she sees you, how she cares about you. I noticed it from kindergarten, friend" Goby explained. That was new for Nonny.

"But still, you can beat that boy if you can conquer her. Friends, it's time to make Nonny the most coveted boy on the whole beach. And I know how to do it" Gil smiled mischievously. He started to whispering to his friends about the plan to get Oona´s heart.
