After getting the Royal Magic Wand, Celestia plans to go to Earth. In the past, a strange guest visits Castle Butterfly.
Plot
On Earth, a bird flies over a desolate waste land, when suddenly it is caught by a net and taken by a figure dressed in post apocalyptic gear. The figure takes the dead bird to a tent, and cooks it for a boy with monster like figures. The figure tries to get the boy to eat, but he refuses. The figure then takes off the mask, revealing to be a much older Meteora Butterfly, as she asks the boy to eat the food, albeit a little stern than last time. With that, the boy takes the bird and eats it, as Meteora looks on.
Meanwhile, on Mewni, Princess Celestia Butterfly accepts the gift of the Royal Magic Wand on her 14th birthday from her parents, Queen Star Butterfly and King Marco Butterfly. Celestia promises to do well with the Wand, and be very careful using magic, as she puts the Amulet Wand around her neck, turns to the audience, bows, and leaves the room.
In Celestia's room, she is talking to Glossaryck, telling him how excited she is to tell her Mom of the news of her going to Earth, but Glossaryck wonders why Celestia would want to go there, and she replies by saying that she is used to Mewni and wants a new change of scenery. Glossaryck chuckles and jokingly asks if Celestia is really her Great Great Grandmother in disguise and Celestia laughs.
The scene then cuts to the tapestry of Estrella The Drafted, as Celestia and Glossaryck are seen looking at it. Celestia looks at the crystal on her amulet wand and then to the tapestry, saying how she can't wait to be like Estrella. With that, Celestia and Glossaryck leave the tapestry room, as the camera closes in on Estrella's face.
That evening, Queen Estrella is seen painting near the Mewni River with baby Comet beside her, when Celestia appears. Estrella is happy to see celestia again, and notices the amulet wand around her neck, making estrella become fascinated by it, and wishing Comet's wand could be an amulet. Celestia questions why Estrella would want that, knowing that Comet's wand is going to be a Rolling Pin. Estrella chuckles, and looks at baby Comet, while mentioning how Comet even knows what wand she has despite being a baby. Celestia then asks if Estrella has ever been to Earth, and Estrella states that she might as well have been everywhere in the multiverse, but then says that she has. Celestia asks how it was, and Estrella simply states that it was much much different than Mewni, which then prompts for Estrella to ask if Celestia has not been to Earth before, since she is half human and half mewman. Celestia states that she has, but it was a while ago, and reveals that she is quite nervous since she thinks that Star won't let her go. Estrella puts both her hands on Celestia's shoulders, smiles, and tells her 2nd Great Granddaughter to "Just go for it". This brings Celestia to smile, hug Estrella, wave goodbye to baby Comet, and then walk off. As for Estrella, she continues painting as she glances at Comet playing with a rattle. Estrella notices something on the rattle; an orange hourglass symbol, but shrugs it off, and continues painting.
Later, Estrella and Comet return back to Butterfly Castle late at night, to find Azul Saint sitting in the light and strumming his guitar. Estrella asks if Azul was waiting for her and Comet, and Azul tries to play it off as if he wasn't and catches his wife off guard when he kisses her on the lips. However, this is cut short, when a nervous servant boy comes in, and informs of Estrella's presence in the Situation Room. Estrella hands Comet to Azul, and quietly follows after the servant. As for Azul, he tickles Comet, but then catches a wiff of her diaper and takes comet to go and change it.
Meanwhile, Celestia looks at a postcard with Earth on it, before knocking on the door of Star's office. Once inside, Star greets Celestia, and joyfully asks if Celestia has made any new spells yet. Celestia reveals that she perfected the Levitato spell, causing Star to laugh, and then asking if Celestia has made any of her own spells yet. Celestia states that she has not, and asks her Mom how Earth was. Star states that her time on Earth was filled with fun, adventure, friendship, and weirdness. As star continues, Celestia walks over to a picture of Star's farewell party. With that, Celestia abruptly tells Star about her wanting to go to Earth, which shocks Star. Star questions if Celestia wants to go there, even pointing out how magic needs special permission to be used and is otherwise illegal. Celestia casually states that her wand looks just like a regular old amulet, and also tells Star that she'll practice magic safely at her grandparent's house; the Diaz Residence. With that, Star agrees to let Celestia go to Earth and they hug, as Star sheds a tear. Celestia asks if Star is crying but Star claims it is a tear of joy and they continue to hug.
With that, Celestia has a farewell party, and is taken to Earth, waving goodbye to everyone. Meanwhile, Estrella enters the Situation Room, and turns to see a red haired man standing there and looking at a stop-watch. As for Meteora and the boy, they arrive at abandoned house that is in ruin, as the boy looks over to an old mailbox that reads "Diaz". As that happens, Celestia arrives at Echo Creek, which is actually fine and dandy. As Celestia heads inside the house, she glances at the mailbox that reads "Diaz", with that, Celestia heads inside. At Butterfly Castle, Star and Marco are standing out on the balcony overlooking Mewni, and holding they're hands. Back with Estrella, she gives the stranger a guest room.
The Mewman thanks Estrella, and she bows and leaves without saying a word. Meanwhile, at Echo Creek, Celestia is laughing and talking on her compact mirror phone with Princess Ram, and showing off her new amulet wand. As for Estrella, she is walking in the garden, when she notices the red haired stranger sitting on a bench, and crying. Estrella sits next to him and without saying a word, offers a Snookers bar, which he takes. As he eats it, Estrella notices something; an amulet with an orange hourglass symbol on it, much to her silent shock. With that, Estrella quickly leaves the stranger alone, much to his confusion, as he continues to eat the snookers bar.
At the Diaz Residence, Celestia has just put on her nightgown, and looks at her wand, and the Magic Book of Spells. Celestia opens it, and slams the book down, causing a cloud of dust to appear, as Celestia coughs and swats it away. With that, Celestia notices a page of the book with one of the ancient Queens on it; Olympia The Queen of Knowledge. Celestia yawns and decides to go to bed, leaving the book open as Olympia's opening page is shown.
Meanwhile with Meteora, she discovers an old dusty box, with an orange hourglass symbol on it. Meteora's eyes well up with tears of joy, when she opens the box, and takes out a mechanical device. Suddenly, Meteora is alerted to the sounds of distress outside. She quickly puts the machine away, and goes outside to rescue the boy from the bandits. They put up a fight, but they are no match for Meteora's dip down magic, which causes the bandits to loose they're souls. With that, Meteora takes the boy back to the box, but discovers a figure standing with it. Meteora demands for the man to put it down or else, but the man laughs and just as he is about to activate the machine, the boy gnaws at his leg, as Meteora grabs the machine. Unfortunately, Meteora is not able to help the boy, as the machine activates, and transports itself and Meteora through time.
With that, Meteora wakes up on Mewni, much to her shock and sadness. Then, a mewman girl appears and asks if Meteora is alright, and Meteora asks where Star is and the girl laughs, and states that she will take Meteora to her. With that, Meteora is taken to the Queen. But, to Meteora's shock, it is not Star. Meteora is asked a question, but does not answer, as she looks at the box with the orange hourglass symbol on it , and then looking at the Queen. Meteora tears up, referring to the Queen as "Great Grandma" much to the Queen's shock and confusion. Suddenly, Meteora faints, as the Royal Family portrait is shown, revealing the Queen to be none other than Skywynne Butterfly. With that, a passed out Meteora is tossed into the dungeon, as Skywynne is left in her office, looking at the box, as the orange hourglass is glowing.
