At Echo Creek Academy, Celestia tries to adjust to her new surroundings. On Mewni, Star gets a surprise visit from the Magic High Commission. Azul does some digging.
Plot
The " Dame Der Zeit " is shown, as a narrator speaks on how time is the craziest thing ever invented in the history of the universe, and that eventually, when the time is right, the universe will see it that way.
At Echo Creek, preferably the Diaz Residence, Celestia gets ready for her first day at school, Echo Creek Academy. Celestia greets her grandparents, as Angie gives Celestia a bag lunch, and tells her to be safe. With that, Celestia heads out.
When she does, she meets a blue haired boy named Luigio, the son of Janna Ordonia, and Celestia's good friend. Luigio reiterates how Celestia can't use magic unless given special permission. This causes Celestia to groan with annoyance, as she lets Luigio know that she has already heard of the whole "Magic is illegal" thing. As the two friends pass by the Town Hall, a protest is going on. While no one is looking, Celestia cuts open a dimensional portal with her dimensional scissors, grabs Luigio, and arrives at school.
While at they're lockers, Celestia and Luigio get cornered by school jock, Danny Lewston, his girlfriend Abigale, and his two roadies, Mark and Dale. Danny stuffs Luigio into his locker, Mark and Dale begin dumping out luigio's things, and Abigale scribbles lipstick all over the backpack. Celestia steps foward, demanding for them to stop. But instead, Danny and his crew tease Celestia. Luckily, the appearance of Miss. Hoover is able to drive the bullies away. Celestia thanks Hoover, and asks if she can help her help Luigio out of the locker, but Hoover laughs, and mockingly tells Celestia to use her magic, but then states how she can't. With that, Hoover gives Celestia and Luigio tardy passes, and demands for them to stop goofing off and go to class. As they do, Hoover looks on, checks her watch, and walks away. As for Luigio, he warns Celestia about Hoover. With that, they go they're separate ways.
At Butterfly Castle, Star and Marco are eating breakfast together. Marco asks if Star slept well, and she states that she did. Marco states that he misses Celestia already, and begins to get frantic. Star lightly touches his hand, reassuring Marco that Celestia will be okay. Just then, a servant man comes in the dining room, and informs Star and Marco that the Magic High Commission are here. Star and Marco exchange worried looks with each other, and head to go see them.
The scene then changes to Mina Loveberry escorting Azul to the Royal Butterfly Castle Library. Once they arrive, the red haired man happens to be leaving, and acts very flirtatious towards Mina, but is abruptly interrupted by Azul. The guest then pecks Mina on the hand, bows to Azul and then walks off. Once inside the library, Mina asks why Azul doesn't like the guest, and azul asks Mina why she thinks that they are at the library, and she gives a silent shrug. With that, Azul tells Mina that he is doing some investigating on the guest, since he doesn't trust him.
Back with Star and Marco, they are sitting in the Situation Room quietly with the Mhc, who are also being quiet. Glossaryck appears, and laughs at how quiet it is. Just then, Hekapoo tosses out a paper, and prepares to leave with the rest of the Mhc, until Star stops them, and asks Hekapoo what the paper is. Marco, who is reading the paper, states that it is about the Clock God, who has fled the Plains of Time. With that, the Mhc try to leave, but Star stops them, and orders them to tell her who the Clock God is. With much reluctance, Hekapoo explains that the Clock God is Father Time's brother, and is there to make sure no body tries to mess up the fabric of time itself. Star is confused, thinking that Father Time was supposed to do that, and Omnitraxus explains that a long time ago, the Mhc created the Clock God because Father Time was lonely, and the Clock God was able to put things into motion, while Father Time kept it going. Star understands now, and looks at the Wanted Poster of the Clock God. Marco asks what the Mhc means when they say that the Clock God puts things into motion, and Omni reveals that the Clock God set off a chain of events to cause Lyric Butterfly to set fire to the original Butterfly Castle, much to Star's shock.
As the Mhc leave, they are stopped by Glossaryck, who asks if they are going to mention who the Clock God really is. Rhombulus blurts out that he was only scared, and Hekapoo tells Glossaryck to just mind his business. And with that, the Mhc leave.
At Echo Creek Academy, Celestia is invited to sit with Luigio's friends at lunch, Paulie, Alex, and Murielle. Murielle gets fascinated by Celestia's cheekmarks, and she happily tells her about them. Later, Celestia and Luigio arrive at the last class of the day, Hoover. Luigio and Celestia sit next to each other, but Hoover makes Celestia sit in the front. As Hoover teaches, Celestia gets a paperball tossed at the back of her head. Celestia opens the note, and it reads, "How's it going?", celestia smiles and looks back at Luigio, who smiles back but then quickly alerts to her of something. When Celestia turns around, she is startled by the sudden appearance of Hoover standing in front of her desk. Hoover snatches the note, and tosses it into the trash bin. With that, the class is dismissed except for Celestia and Luigio.
Hoover demands to know why Celestia and Luigio thought it okay to pass notes in class. The two kids don't answer, and just when Hoover is about to say something, she is interrupted by the intercom telling her to report to Principal Skullnick immediately. Hoover groans and heads to go see Principal Skullnick. As for Celestia and Luigio, they head home, but not before Celestia litterally bumps into the Janitor, Mr. Worthington. Worthington and Celestia get up, as Celestia tries to apologize, Worthington hugs her saying, "It's you.", Luigio pulls Celestia away and they head out, as Worthington looks on with tears in his eyes.
At Butterfly Castle, Azul and Mina have been looking through many documents, articals, and books, to try and find some news on who the Guest is. Mina decides to suggest spying on the Guest, but Azul believes that spying would be too risky. Azul thinks for a moment, and opens a book titled,"When A Guest Is Estranged And You Do Not Know What To Do 101". Azul then grins and begins an exaggerated evil laugh, much to Mina's worry. Later, Azul and Mina arrive at the Dining Room, to find Estrella and the Guest laughing with one another. Azul quickly rushes in to join the laughing, wanting to know what is so funny. Estrella is about to speak, when Azul stops her, and decides to hear it from the Guest, who is taken aback by this. With that, the Guest tells Azul that he was just telling Estrella about how he comes from a faraway land with a Castle, and a lovely family. Azul sits down, with a smug face, and tells the Guest to continue. The Guest chuckles, and states that he feels like Azul does not like him, which causes Azul to blurt out on how he does not like him, since he was acting "lovey dovey" towards Mina and his own wife. Estrella tries to covertly pull Azul back down into his seat, but Azul pulls away, and demands for the Guest to leave. The Guest prepares to leave, but Estrella quietly motions for him to stop, gives Mina a look to keep an eye on the Guest, and drags Azul to they're room.
Estrella sits at her canvas and begins to paint. Azul sits at Estrella's knees, begging for her to not trust the Guest. There is a silence, until Estrella says "I don't.", shocking Azul who replies with "You don't?". Estrella explains that she has her own doubts on why the Guest is here, and states that she knows something is up. Azul asks what Estrella is going to do, and she tells Azul that they won't do anything until they have to. Azul asks if Estrella got that from her Mom, and, as if on cue, Celena Butterfly appears with a sleeping baby Comet. Celena states that she did give that advice to Estrella. Azul is given Comet to put in her crib, as Celena states that time is on they're side, and that eventually the universe will do what it must. Estrella agrees, and with that, Azul and Estrella head back to dinner. Celena looks at the canvas, smiles, and leaves the room. As for the canvas, it is revealed to be a painting of multiple orange hourglass symbols.
The scene then changes to Celestia practing magic in her backyard while Luigio watches on. Afterwards, they watch the clouds together. Celestia asks why people were protesting at the Town Hall this morning, and Luigio explains that it is because they plan on shutting down Britta's Tacos. Celestia questions it, and Luigio explains that since magic is illegal, and there is a magic well underneath the place, then the mayor wants to get rid of it. Celestia chuckles, stating how no one can get rid of the well, and Luigio thinks otherwise. With that, the two friends continue watching clouds together, before Luigio points to one cloud that looks like a hourglass, while Celestia thinks it looks more like a bow, and then the two friends decide to head inside the house to play video games.
The scene then cuts to Meteora, who is being taken to Skywynne's office. Inside, Skywynne informs Meteora that she will be going to her magical institute, but Meteora becomes frantic, and tries to tell Skywynne that she is her great granddaughter, but skywynne states that Meteora is dilusional, and has her guards take meteora away. As that happens, Skywynne looks at the box, that she still has not opened. Suddenly, Lyric Butterfly appears, and questions on to why skywynne hasn't opened the box yet. Skywynne looks at the orange hourglass, and then with much hesitancy, she opens it, revealing the Time Machine.
As that happens, the narrator states that time is just an endless concept, and that it has many cycles. Some may never break those cycles, and some may find a way. The cycles that go on and on like a hamster on a wheel or like the brother you never had. But, until the cycles are fixed, they must break or else, everything will be ruined.
As the narrator speaks, Hoover is shown waiting for a date, who is clearly not coming, which makes her frown. Celestia is shown watching tv with her grandparents and laughing. Star is seen looking at the wanted poster of the Clock God, along with other unknown wanted posters. Glossaryck is looking at the tapestry of Olympia The Queen of Knowledge. Estrella continues painting, as she turns to look at Azul sleeping with Comet. Celena is in her room, when she selects a card that reads, "The Savior", as Celena puts it down, revealing other cards that say, "The Clock", "The Key", "The Crown", "The Heart", "The Hourglass", and "The Shadow". Meteora arrives at the Skywynne Institute For Gifted Youngsters. The Guest is laying down in his bed, looking at a photo of him dressed in all black, standing around people dressed in all black. Worthington is shown, eating, when there is a knock at his door, when he answers it, it is two agents. With that, Worthington is knocked out, and put into a van, that drives off.
As for Celestia, she is asleep. In her dream, she is standing in the middle of a room, staring at the portrait of the Dame Der Zeit.
