Star takes a break from being Queen, but her subjects make wanting a break really hard. Celestia makes amends with a past Queen of Mewni. Anna joins The Orange Hourglass Society. Glossaryck visits a friend.

• Plot

In 1976, Anna Fitzgareld is born to Meteora Butterfly and her husband, Hankie Fitzgareld, at Angel River Children's Hospital, in San Fransisco. Regina, two years old at the time, seems very happy.

Later, in 1981, the Fitzgareld Family move to Echo Creek after Hankie decides to quit his job as a construction worker, and get a job at Britta's Tacos. As for Meteora, she becomes a stay at home Mom for Regina and Anna, who both enroll into Echo Creek Elementary.

While at school, Anna seems to do really well, being able to best her own art teacher at a painting contest, which the class loves. Other than that, Anna does volunteer work and even helps out the Aurbergine Family, which she enjoys.

As for Regina, she sticks to watching tv and reading magazines, and apparently having a secret crush on Bobby, despite him having a girlfriend.

In 1982, Anna celebrates christmas with her Family, although Hankie has to work the night shift at Britta's Tacos. During this, Anna and Regina get into a disagreement, and Meteora gets harsh with both of them, and even hits Anna with one of the toys, much to Regina's shock. With that, the sisters run off to the park.

In 1983, Regina and Anna are at the park getting carried off by two men, as Zeus blasts Meteora into a tree, killing her. With that, Zeus teleports away with the two men and the girls. Later, Anna wakes up in a room with a table and a pink pictureless frame on the wall. Suddenly, Zeus comes in and seemingly frightens Anna, who does not speak.

Zeus tells Anna that he has big plans for her and that if anna is scared, then as stated by zeus, she has every right. Anna then gulps, and finally speaks, saying that she is not scared, as Zeus smiles.

Over the next few years, Zeus trains Anna to become an agent for him, like Klaus, the woman named Octavia, and the two men named Bill and Jack, and Bobby Aubergine, who looks a little rough and old. With that, Zeus tells a now 18 year old Anna to go to July 18th, 1969, and find this woman; he shows Anna a picture of said woman posing in front of the rocket launch in the background, the same picture Luigio saw in Murielle's house. With that, Anna gladly accepts the mission, while saluting to the Dame Der Zeit portrait and teleporting away to 1969.

July 18th, The Year 2033

On Mewni, Star wakes up in bed with Marco and Celestia, as Marco also wakes up. Marco glances at Star and then asks if she had a nightmare again, and Star says yes. With that, Queen and King Butterfly get ready for they're day by brushing they're teeth, taking turns taking a shower, getting dressed, eating breakfast, waving to they're subjects, going to meetings, and doing paperwork in the office.

With that, Star contacts her Mom, Moon Butterfly, on her mirror phone, asking if she had ever decided to take a break from her royal duties. Moon laughs, stating that she has tried, but that it might be too hard for Star to handle. Star doubts it, and is all for wanting to prove Moon wrong, much to Moon's amusement. With that, Star asks how River, Eclipsa, and Globgore are doing, and they all appear on the mirror phone helping some Princesses and Princes clean up the school, which appears to be St. Olga's. Star thanks Moon for cleaning up the school and giving it a new meaning, and Moon states that it wasn't easy. With that, Star smiles and prepares to hang up, but Moon wants to see Celestia. With much reluctance and insistance, Star goes to go show Moon to Celestia.

In the Master Bedroom, a 7 year old Celestia Butterfly is sleeping. In her dream, she is wearing traditional polish clothing, while people also dressed in the same thing, are all celebrating something while seemingly dancing in a circle around a Horse Piñata. As Celestia sees other small groups doing it and enjoying themselves, she sees a mew-woman sitting on a flower covered throne. Suddenly, Celestia looks on with fascination as the mew-woman's eyes glow, revealing that she has red triangle cheekmarks, as Celestia's star marks glow.

Back with Star, she shows a sleeping peacefully Celestia to Moon, and Moon states that it reminds her of Star when she used to sleep, much to the latter's embarrassment. After that, Star and Moon say they're goodbyes and hang up. Star looks at Celestia, smiles, and goes to try and have a break.

In trying to have a break, Star tries to watch tv, eat food, ride Pig-Goats, and practice magic. However, while doing this, Star doesn't enjoy herself like she wants to since her subjects keep bothering her and giving her work to do. With that, Star goes to find Marco, while getting chased after by her subjects.

Back in Celestia's dream, she is sitting next to her great something grandma, Queen Penumbra Butterfly. Celestia then asks what Penumbra is celebrating and just then, everything stops, as dark clouds appear over the sky, everyone including Penumbra begin to look ghastly and menacing. Celestia tries to move, as the crowd and Penumbra begin to move in on her, but the flower crowns keep tightening around her and are swallowing her into the ground. Celestia screams, and so does the crowd and Penumbra. This begins freaking Celestia out to the point of tears, as she cries out to Star and Marco.

The Year 1955

Suddenly, someone grabs Celestia and she appears inside of a bed room with a man wearing a soup bowl for a crown. With that, Celestia, confused and scared, faints.

Later, Celestia wakes up in the same room and the man with the soup bowl crown introduces himself as the Soup King and he even introduces his family, the Soup Queen and the Soup Prince. Celestia then glances over to a dresser and sees a small picture of a mew-woman with red triangles on her face. Celestia asks who the mew-woman is, and the Soup King explains that a long time ago when the Soup King of that time was on the throne, a "fellow traveler" had crashed out of the sky and into the throne room. Celestia asks who, and the Soup King pulls back some curtains revealing the tapestry of Soupina The Strange, much to Celestia's shock.

The Soup King explains that when Soupina had fell out of the sky, she would not stop screaming and thrashing about, which had scared everyone. Because of this, the Soup King kept giving the Butterfly Queen what she wanted, Soup. As according to the Soup King, Soupina kept eating all the soup in the Soup Kingdom and ended up making the King lose all his money due to wasting it on the chefs and cooks that had to constantly make the soup so Soupina could stay sane. Celestia becomes confused, and asks why Soupina would need to do that, and the Soup King explains that something had happened between her and her sister, so Soupina wanted to destroy magic, but couldn't due to getting teleported out of the realm of magic by a unicorn, and because she was stuck seeing multiple dimensions, she had went insane. As according to the King, soup seemed to be the only thing keeping Soupina sane. Celestia asks what happened next, and the King takes a deep breath.

In a flashback, Soupina is shown chained up in bed in the Soup Kingdom, sitting up, sipping the last bits of her soup, and in a monotone but almost robotic voice, asking for more. The Soup King sighs and orders his chef to get more, but the chef refuses, stating that this would be Soupina's 500,000,000th bowl. However, the King does not listen, while stating that it is the only thing keeping Soupina sane, as Soupina, stuck with her butterfly form eyes and wide eyed blank stare, slowly turns her head towards the chef, while saying in her monotone and robo voice, "Yes...more.",as she slowly turns her head facing the foward, much to the Chef's fear.

Just then, a hooded figure appears, and demands to have Soupina come back home. The Soup King refuses, until the hooded figure blasts everyone, and escaping with Soupina, who begins to go crazy and thrash about.

With that, the flashback ends, and Celestia feels bad for Soupina, but wonders if she is still dreaming. Suddenly, Estrella and Azul appear, much to Celestia's happiness, while referring to them as her 2nd great grandparents, which prompts the Soup King to question how that could be if Estrella and Azul look so young, and Estrella leaves off with, "It's complictated".

Later, Celestia lays in bed, as Estrella tucks her in and kisses her on the forehead and then leaves the room.

The Year 2040

With that, Celestia closes her eyes, preparing to wake up in Star and Marco's room. However, she wakes up in Omni's dimension and quickly hides, hearing the voice of Omni and Glossaryck.

Glossaryck asks why Omni is acting so weird and Omni tries to act natural, denying it, but Glossaryck does not buy the act, growing big and angry, demanding for his son to stop lying and tell him the truth. With that, Omni tells Glossaryck that something bad is going to happen and that they cannot stop it. Glossaryck asks what and just as Omni is about to say it, Glossaryck notices someone. He then discovers Celestia, and is surprised to see that she looks so young, but Omni states that its Celestia from the past, much to 7 year old Celestia's confusion, as she tells Glossaryck and Omni that she fell asleep in her parents' bedroom, woke up in a weird feild of flowers with granny Penny, who then got mad at her for asking why they were celebrating, woke up in the Soup Kingdom, learned about Soupina's time there, and then got brought home by Estrella and ended up in Omni's dimension. With that, Glossaryck sends Celestia back to where she belongs, and decides to get back to him and Omni.

With that, Omni shows Glossaryck something. On a crystal, it shows Murielle with a woman getting ready to pose at the rocket launch of the Apollo 11, when suddenly, Anna appears and begins to attack Murielle, who fights back. Suddenly, the woman runs off, as Anna chases after her.

July 18th, The Year 1969

Anna apears in the middle of a back alleyway with an orange briefcase, dressed as person from the 60s as a way to blend in. With that, Anna takes a bus all the way to the headquarters of the Orange Hourglass Society, where she meets the leader, a woman named Delores. Delores happy to see Anna, stating that she couldn't wait for the day when Anna came to the rescue, much to the latter's confusion. Delores is amused by how gullible Anna acts, and she explains the OHS is an organization on keeping the timeline intact and make sure that things that must happen, happen. Anna asks if Zeus works for OHS, and Delores explains that a really long time ago Zeus did, but unfortunately he died, as according to delores, who also explains that due to the cycles, Zeus was reborn and helped the true headmaster of the OHS bring the organization to the ground up. Anna asks who the founder was, and Delores chuckles, asking if Anna understands why they call it the "Orange Hourglass society", but anna still does not know, much to Delores's guilt. With that, Delores states that she would like to show Anna something.

With that, Glossaryck and Omni are shown looking at the beginning of the Apocalypse, which Omni pauses at the right moment, seeing someone in the middle of the blast wave that will destroy everything, as if seemingly creating it. Glossaryck asks if Omni knows who it is, but he does not, as the figure is shown.

In the next few scenes, 7 year old Celestia visits the Dam of Sorrow, putting roses where Soupina fell off. Star finally enjoys a relaxing bath as Marco decides to join her. 14 year old Celestia is shown looking at a projection from her phone, looking at the tapestry of Soupina The Strange, when she gets a chill and goes to close her window, as it is revealed that a ghost was behind her, ghost Penumbra, who is silently crying, as Celestia looks towards her but doesn't see anything. Anna and Delores arrive in a room, seeing different types of previous headmasters, as Delores and Anna see the portrait of the OHS founder, much to Anna's shock, who is none other than Skywynne Butterfly. On Mewni, the hooded figure returns a crazed Soupina, while telling her that "It has to happen", with that the hooded figure shoves Soupina off of the Dam of Sorrow, killing her and quickly teleports away, just as Penumbra arrives. With that, the hooded figure arrives in 1969, on July 21st, and orders a hotel room and accidentally bumps into a girl, who is none other than Murielle, who gets called after the woman from the photo, who is her mother. As Murielle and her mother leave, the hooded figure, who is none other than Bobby, looks speechless as he says, "Mom?".
