When Marco, Tom, and River, plan a Men's Day Out, it goes awry, and turns into a history lesson with the Princess of the Spiderbite Family. A new problem arises in Echo Creek, as past and present intertwine.

Plot

In 1996, Hankie is at Meteora's grave, wishing she could've told him what was really going on. Suddenly, Murielle appears, saying that there can be a way for that to be arranged.

In 2040, the Mayor is informed of another missing person, as he begins to worry. Meanwhile, Celestia is sitting at her desk, thinking of what happened in 1996, when she used her powers to save Klaus. She goes to her window, to see Paulie Himpton and his older sister, Lindsay, putting posters all around town for the missing person, who is Paulie's adoptive cousin, named Jeremiah Hogen. Celestia heads outside, and decides to help them.

On Mewni, Marco is preparing for his Men's Day Out, with Tom and River. As for Star, she is too busy thinking about what Celestia did. Star decides to arrange a Women's Day Out with her friends, which Marco supports with happiness. In the throne room, Tom and River arrive to pick up Marco. Marco arrives, and the three men leave the Castle, while doing a celebratory chant. Star tries calling her female friends, but they are all busy, much to the latter's dismay.

Celestia gets hungry and decides to head back home to eat lunch. As she heads back, she notices that the Town Hall has been vandalized. Celestia looks up at the 2nd story window, spotting the Mayor staring at her, before quickly pulling over the curtains. Celestia continues on home. Once she arrives, Celestia discovers that Mariposa has dropped by looking for her. Celestia learns that Meteora has left the Mountain and has not been seen anywhere. Celestia becomes extremely worried, even though Mariposa reassures her that nothing will happen. Celestia begins crying, explaining the events of what occurred in 1996, much to Mariposa's shock and disbelief, saying that Meteora knows nothing of time travel. Celestia concludes that Meteora must've been taken away by Klaus and Jack, grew up, met someone and got pregnant by 1974, met Hankie, then had another daughter, before getting killed in 1983. Mariposa becomes distressed and takes Celestia to the Neverzone.

In the Forest of Unlikely Spiderbites, Marco, Tom, and River, stop by a lake and go wrestling with the alligators. Eventually, Tom and Marco get tired out, as River continues, not seeming exhausted despite his old age. Marco mentions that he heard about what happened between Tom and Janna, at Star's meeting. Tom sighs, and thinks that him not seeing Luigio is messing up his head. Marco asks why Tom never sees Luigio, and he says that it is because he is always busy, and Janna doesn't want to end up in a cruel marriage, since she believes that any non-demon married to a demon, will just be cursed to kill the demon spouse. Marco responds on how heavy that is, and gets asked by Tom, how him and Star are doing. Marco is not able to answer, when him, Tom, and River, hear a scream of terror coming not too far from the lake. With that, the three men rush off.

In Echo Creek, Celestia gets dragged by Mariposa to Britta's Tacos. On the way, Luigio appears, and questions why Celestia has not been answering his calls. Celestia tries to explain herself, but Mariposa tosses her into the back storage room of Britta's, and even tosses Luigio inside. With that, Mariposa opens a portal and the three kids end up in the Neverzone.

At the Town Hall, the Mayor gets visited by Sherry Dimson, who is leading the investigation in trying to find Jeremiah, and someone who went missing in 1955 named Cassius Mckullen. Sherry explains that Cassius and Jeremiah were both spotted near the Britta's Tacos stand on the day they disappeared. Sherry even finds it weird how they were reported missing to police around the same time, 11:35am, which the Mayor finds strange. Looking at the photos, one colorized and one not, the Mayor notices that there seems to be a blurred figure on both photos. Sherry thinks that it could be bad photo quality, and the Mayor tells Sherry to hold Britta's Tacos responsible for it, since it will soon make them go out of business. Sherry is uncertain about the Mayor's plan, or if he even cares about the missing people.

Meanwhile, Hoover orders something to drink from Britta's Tacos, when she bumps into Bobby. Hoover greets Bobby, who asks how Hoover has been. Hoover states that she could've never been better. Bobby asks if Murielle is doing good on her classes, and Hoover begins saying Murielle is the "Greatest student a teacher could ever ask for.". Bobby smiles at this and heads home. As for Hoover, she grumbles angrily, crushing her drink in frustration, as the Clerk notes how she's still gonna have to pay.

On Mewni, the 3 men arrive at the source of the screams. It ends up just being Princess Spiderbite Slime, getting happily freaked out by a magician. After the show, the magician packs his things and leaves. River shows disdain towards the magician for leaving the Princess out in the middle of the forest, but then proceeds to do the same and go on ahead with Tom and Marco. However, Tom and Marco don't want to leave the Princess, and take her back home.

At the Spiderbite Kingdom, Princess Arachnia Spiderbite Slime thanks the 3 men for bringing her back home. Tom notices how empty the place looks, and Arachnia states that her parents took the whole entire Kingdom to the Papillòn. With that, Arachnia decides to tell the three men about her Spiderbite Family Members, thinking that they're "Royal Duties" are stressing them out, much to the 3 men's dismay. In the Family Room, Arachnia shows the men to the first portrait of her ancestor, King Ancylometes Spiderbite, the founder of the Papillòn, which is a place that Arachnia doesn't like, since her Parents pay more attention to that place then her, much to the 3 men's dismay.

At the Neverzone, Celestia, Mariposa, and Luigio, eventually find Meteora hiding out at her and Mariposa's old hut. Mariposa wonders why Meteora is here, and Meteora glares at Celestia, and decides to only speak to her. After Mariposa and Luigio ride away on Nachos, Celestia is about to tell Meteora about her fate in 1983, when Meteora stops her. Meteora explains that she had a won a turf war and now, she learns that Mariposa is going to be getting an award, much to Celestia's relief. Meteora explains that Mariposa has been getting most of the praise lately, ever since they got rid of Wyscan, even though she played a role in it, too. Celestia thinks that Meteora should speak with Mariposa, but the latter refuses, thinking that she won't listen. Celestia asks if she can tell Mariposa, and Meteora allows it, as long as she can see it happen.

At the Echo Creek Police Station, Sherry tries relentlessly to find Jeremiah, but keeps thinking about the Mayor's own selfish ideals. With that, Sherry heads to the home of Perry Mckullen, Cassius's Great Grandson. Perry states that the only thing he knew about Cassius, was that he always got the girls and didn't even finish school. Sherry asks if Perry's parents may know anything, and Perry reveals that his parents were cremated, and put into an urn, that happens to be on Perry's coffee table. Sherry says his apologies for the loss of Perry's parents, but he thinks they deserved it, especially since they disappointed the Flower Goddess. Sherry perks up at this, asking if Perry can tell him more about the Flower Goddess.

Back on Mewni, Tom, Marco, and River, become increasingly bored, as Arachnia continues to tell them the history of her family. She gets agitated with them, stating that she is only trying to help them, since she can tell how stressed out the men are, much to they're dismay. Suddenly, Marco notices one of the Spiderbite Family members named Shastacan. Arachnia tells them that he was poisoned to death, but the 3 men are sure that a Monster ate him. Arachnia sighs, and goes onto the next family member, Baron Orlando Von Spiderbite, the Father of Soupina The Strange. Arachnia expresses annoyance at how anytime a Spiderbite is married to a Butterfly, the marriage can never be a good one; Orlando got killed by Elvira, since she thought he was a spy for the Moths, Sycamore got cursed by a witch while being married to Diantha, Recluza got cheated on, and Shastacan got poisoned to death. While River and Tom say that Shastacan was eaten by Globgore and Arachnia tries to argue that he was poisoned, Marco notices a portrait of one Spiderbite Family Member named Ricardo Lovebird Spiderbite. Marco asks about him, but Arachnia quickly ends the tour, much to Marco's confusion. As the door closes, Marco takes one last look at the portrait of Ricardo.

At the Neverzone, Mariposa learns why Meteora left the Mountain, and Mariposa starts acting weird, which is pointed out by Luigio, who gets told to shut his mouth by Celestia. Meteora asks whats really going on, and Mariposa blurts out everything Celestia told her before coming to the Neverzone. However, Meteora assumes that Mariposa only said that just so she could make herself feel even more good about the praise. Mariposa insists that it is the truth, and even tries to get Celestia to tell Meteora. Celestia gets frustrated and says that it is true. Meteora becomes hysterical and then kicks Mariposa, Celestia, and Luigio out of the hut.

Without saying a word, Celestia heads back home with Luigio. Once in the storage room of Britta's Tacos, Celestia and Luigio head out and see a crime scene going on. Celestia runs into Alex and Paulie, who state that something happened. At the Himpton Residence, Celestia finds that Paulie's Father, Jeremy Himpton, has been turned to stone, and that the house has been trashed. Jeremy's Wife comes home, and becomes devastated, as Celestia runs away. Lindsay arrives, and finds a trail of yellow flowers leading to the basement, where she finds a dead bird.

Meanwhile, at the Echo Creek Pier, a mysterious hooded figure comes out of a tunnel and heads into town.

At the Neverzone, Meteora has a vision of Hankie, and wakes up abruptly, sweating and panting, when she gets startled by the sudden appearance of a mysterious figure dressed in a coat, a gas mask, and a hood. The figure reveals themself to be Old Estrella. She kneels down to the terrified Meteora, telling her that the knot is almost complete. Meteora begins crying, as Estrella looks on, smiling warmly.

Hankie and Murielle step out of the tunnel of Echo Creek, as Hankie asks where they are, and Murielle tells him that she is about to show him the truth of his Wife. Hankie asks the year, and Murielle states that it is the day Hankie learns of Meteora; 1972. With that, Hankie and Murielle head into town.
