AN: So I'm going to start this off from the middle of the chapter. If you want to know what really happened in the story, just go to the original. This is just a what if story, a side story of what might have happened if things have gone differently in the original.

Paul laid on a roof and took off his mask. He looked into the sky and he just couldn't figure things out. When he's feeling lost, confused, or down, he often thinks back to Peter.

"Peter, it's times like this I wish you were still around." Paul said. "You always seem to have the answers. You always had a way of figuring things out." When Paul starts thinking like that, it causes him to doubt if he's really worthy of being Spider-Man. "Damn it. You never would have taken Monica into danger when Iguana returned. You probably use that big science brain of yours and you would know what to do. That's what made you a great Spider-Man. I don't have that big brain of yours. So what does that make me now?" Paul sat up and placed his mask on sat on the edge roof. "What is wrong with me? Jean and I get along great. I'm really happy with her. I know how she feels about me. So why can't I say that I love her?" Paul didn't know what to do. Harris was right. Something was in the way, but he didn't know what. Paul heard his phone go off and saw it was Jean. He wasn't sure he was prepared, but he couldn't ignore her. "Hey. What's up?"

"Hey…. Can you meet me in the park? There's something I think we should talk about." Jean said.

"Yeah. I'm close by. I'll see you there." Paul said. Whatever the problem is, he wants it out of the way.

…..

The Park

Paul made it to the park and changed into his regular clothes. He looked around for Jean and spotted her on a bridge, looking down at the water. Paul walked over and braced himself for whatever will happen here.

"Hey." Paul said.

"Hey. Thanks for seeing me here." Jean said.

"No problem. So what did you want to talk to me about?" Paul said. Jean took a deep breath as she seemed anxious.

"Oh boy. This isn't exactly easy to say." Jean said.

"Oh no. I don't like the sound of that." Paul said.

"What?" Jean questioned.

"I'm no expert, but this sounds like the part where you break up with me." Paul said.

"No." Jean said as she laughed with Paul being confused. "No. That's not what this is about. There's actually...something else."

"Okay. What is it?" Paul asked. Jean seemed nervous, but she was also smiling.

"Well... Let's just say the nights we were together, we should have been more careful." Jean said. Paul didn't understand what she was talking about, but Jean placed her hands around her stomach. It didn't take Paul long to figure out what Jean was talking about.

"You're..." Paul said as he didn't know what to think or say.

"Yeah. I'm...pregnant." Jean said. She was glad to say this, but she was also afraid of what Paul might think. The way he stayed silent like that didn't really helped her. "Paul, if you're mad or upset, I understand. I know this might be a shock. It's just that..." Jean didn't get to finish that as Paul pulled her in and hugged her so tight. "You're not upset?"

"No. I mean... I don't know." Paul said as he pulled back. "I'm happy, amazed, confused, shocked, and a whole bunch of other feelings. I'm not sure what I should be feeling. Are you certain that you are?"

"Yeah. I have been feeling weird for a while." Jean said. "I took a test today when I had the chance and it showed up positive. You're really going to be a father." Paul couldn't believe it, but he actually seemed happy about it. He pulled Jean back in and felt so happy to be having a child and it's with someone like Jean.

"I love you." Paul said. He just went and said it and he actually meant it. Jean couldn't believe he said that and she loved hearing it. There might have been something in the way before, but it looks like it's not anymore.

...

Nine Months Later

Jean and Paul might have hit some problems in their relationship, but ever since Jean told him she was pregnant, things have gotten better. They've become even closer as Paul helped her through this and Paul really was in love with Jean now. Jean's parents weren't happy that their daughter was pregnant before getting married, but they came around and helped out like Paul's family. So for the past nine months, they've been dealing with pregnancy and waiting for the day to come, even though Spider-Man is keeping Paul busy.

"Go down already!" Paul said as he was fighting some thugs, but they were being stubborn and weren't going down. One tried attacking him, but Paul jumped right over him and hit him hard in the back of the head. "I've got somewhere more important to be and I'm not missing it."

"Well, we're not going to..." The thug didn't get to finish that as Paul webbed his mouth and pulled him closer. Paul hit him right in the jaw and took him down as well.

"That's the last one. I've got to hurry." Paul said as he jumped in the air and started swinging. He was going as fast as he could and needed to hurry. "Damn it! Come on!" Paul was going as fast as he could as he needed to be somewhere important. That somewhere was the hospital. He ran right in through the front door and took off his mask. "Jean!" Paul ran through the hospital to find Jean. Jean went into labor and had to be taken to the hospital. As soon as Paul heard that, he rushed to the hospital as fast as he could.

"AAAWWWWW!" Jean screamed as giving birth was the most painful thing she went through. Paul was able to find her and came rushing into the room.

"Jean, I'm here." Paul said as he grabbed her hand.

"Thank god. I knew you would make it." Jean said as she felt like she can really do this now.

"It's almost done. One more push." The doctor said. Jean gave it a good push as she could feel that child coming. Paul held her hand no matter how much it hurts his own, and he has great strength. It was when she heard the cries of an infant that tears escaped from her eyes.

"It's really here..." Paul said as he was amazed. The doctor cleaned up the baby and handed it over to Jean.

"Congratulations. It's a healthy baby boy." The doctor said as Jean took him in her arms. Both of them looked down at the beauty that they created. It was a true blessing for both of them.

"You're really here." Jean said. "Look at what we made, Paul."

"I know." Paul said as he held her close with tears of joy running down his face. So was Jean. This was the start of a new life for them.
