Hearing that Jean was pregnant with Paul's child was a real surprise to a lot of people. After that day, Paul and Jean having been doing their best to raise the child together and it made Paul even more in love with Jean.

"Mommy! Daddy!" A little girl came running her parents' room. She climbed on the bed and jumped around. It got both of her parents up and her parents were Paul and Jean. Ten years have passed since Jean gave birth. Since that day, they both got officially married, moved into a new apartment fit for a family, and had another child as well a few years after their son was born.

"Okay, Holly. We're getting up." Paul said. Little Holly was an adorable little girl with brown hair. She's energetic little kid and always seems to be so happy.

"It's morning already?" Jean questioned as they were both getting out of bed. "I guess it is if our little sunshine is up and jumpy." She grabbed a hold of Holly and snuggled up to her.

"Who needs an alarm clock when we have her." Paul said. "Actually a good thing since we have to get you to school. What are you doing up so early?"

"I can't sleep. I'm too excited for our camping trip." Holly said.

"That's happening tomorrow since you and your brother will have a three day weekend." Jean said. "I'll get breakfast. Paul, can you go wake up Van."

"Sure." Paul said. Paul got up and went over to his son's room. Paul went inside, but he didn't see his son in his bed. "Van?" He looked around and he spotted a boy with blonde hair asleep...on the ceiling. It was soon discovered that Paul's spider powers were born with Van as well. Raising a spider kid, there's a challenge. "Van!" Paul called for him and woke him right up.

"Hey, Dad." Van said.

"Get down from there." Paul said. Van did what he said and jumped down with him landing on the bed. "How many times have your mother and I told you? No sleeping on the ceiling. That can't be good for you and you could fall and land on your head."

"Sorry, Dad. I just can't help it." Van said. "It just feels natural. Hey, can I go with you on patrol? I want to join the crime fighting as well."

"Van, we've talked about this." Paul said. "You're not going to fight any crime. You're far too young." That seemed to have disappointed Van. "You'll get there when you're older. Besides, it's hard to take you serious with crime fighting when you use your webs like silly string. Look at the bright side at least, our camping trip is coming up. You've been looking forward to that."

"Yeah!" Van said as that cheered him up.

"Now go join your mother and your sister for breakfast. You got to get ready for school soon." Paul said. Van ran past him for breakfast. Ever since Van came into Paul's life, things have actually started looking up for Paul. He even seems to have stopped comparing himself to Peter. With the kids enjoying some breakfast, Jean and Paul were getting ready for the day.

"I'll take the kids to school, but I'm going to be needed at the lab since I'll be taking the next three days off." Jean said. "You don't mind picking them up, do you? That's assuming if you can."

"That was only one time. When I saw I was running late, I called Harris said he was more than happy to pick up the kids." Paul said. "He said he doesn't mind if we're not able to since he has to pick up his son with Holly."

"I know, but it's a rare chance to actually get a shot in at Spider-Man." Jean said as she enjoyed poking fun at him. "Kids, better hurry."

"Okay, Mom." Van said as he and Holly finished their breakfast.

"I'll call you later." Jean said as she gave Paul a quick kiss. Paul was really glad his life is where it is now. It's had some rough parts, but he was able to pull through.

...

Paul

With the kids at school, it gave Paul a great chance to do what he needed to do as Spider-Man. Paul hasn't given that up yet and the fact that he's married and has children means to him that he has to fight even harder. His kids think it's pretty cool he's a real superhero. Anyway, Paul changed into his costume and patrolled through the city.

"Looks like everything is good." Paul said. "Hopefully it will stay like that while I'm gone. No, wait. Stop that, Paul. For the next three days, you're going to relax and have some fun with your family." Paul looked out to the city and continued doing what he was doing. He heard his phone went off and to see it was Harris and answered. "Hey, Harris. What's up?"

"Hey. I'm just calling ahead of time to see if you need me to pick up your kids. I thought I ask ahead of time." Harris said.

"No, Harris." Paul said. "I'm going to get my own kids because I'm a good father who is there for them." He joked

"So you're really leaving New York for a few days?" Harris asked.

"Yeah. Lindsay and Thomas can handle things for that long." Paul said and soon spotted trouble with a helicopter. "Uh oh. Speaking of which, I need to get going. Thanks for the offer anyway." Paul ended the call and got moving. He might be a father, but his responsibilities never seem to lighten up.

...

Van

Van was at school and was in the middle of doing some of his schoolwork. All the work was interrupted when a fellow classmate shouted in joy.

"Spider-Man just saved a helicopter from crashing into the city!" The boy cheered. The teacher glared at him for that and the kid new he was in trouble. He might be in trouble, but Van always enjoyed hearing about his father.

"Van, your dad sounds so cool."

"Man. My dad is just a boring dentist."

"Yeah. I can't wait to be like him." Van said. Van always admired his dad. People claim that Spider-Man is their hero, but Paul was Van's hero in more ways than one. Van wants to be just like his father one day. "In fact..." Van jumped on the ceiling and hanged upside down, with the teacher getting annoyed with his spider abilities. "I always think better when I'm hanging upside down."

...

Later

Van waited outside the school for his father to come and pick him up with school ending for the day. He was actually hoping they get to swing home.

"Van!" Van looked and spotted Holly with Paul as they walked to the school. Holly ran right to her brother and hugged him.

"Hey, Dad. Hey, Holly." Van said.

"Sorry. I had to pick up Holly first. I didn't keep you waiting too long, did I?" Paul asked.

"No, I'm okay." Van said.

"Good because I actually got a call from your teacher." Paul said with a disapproving tone. "What have I told you about using your spider powers at school?"

"It's wrong because I should never really use my powers for my own reasons." Van said. "I should only use them when I need to."

"And...?" Paul said.

"I don't want to make the other kids jealous." Van said. "It's just so hard not using them. It's natural to me even if others think they're freaky."

"We're going camping. You can use your powers there." Holly said. "I wish I had some spider powers too."

"Maybe you will. It took me some time before I learned about my powers." Van said. "So can I use my powers while we're camping? Pretty please?"

"Fine. Only if you're careful about using them." Paul said. "Those powers are a great responsibility. Don't treat them like it's part of a game."

"I know. So how are we going home?" Van said.

"The only way we know how of course." Paul said and Van liked that. Paul webbed both of his kids to his back as he swung through the city. It was like a thrill ride for the kids.

"Higher, Daddy!" Holly said.

"Do a couple flips!" Van said.

"No way. You know how your mother feels about that." Paul said as he kept on swinging them. Paul might not be your average father, but he certainly is a great father. His kids love him and Van enjoys how he gets to use his powers. In time, Van will use them in more way than he thought.
