Now that everything appears to be well in the city, Paul can enjoy some well deserved time of relaxation with his family. His kids have been looking forward to this. Paul and Jean were a little excited about this as well.
"Let's see. I've got bug spray, food for the next three days, first aid kit, what am I forgetting?" Jean said as she was making sure they had everything they need for the next few days.
"Nothing." Paul said. "If we're going to get there to have some fun in the sun, we should get going." They had their stuff packed and they were all ready to go. "Van! Holly! You two got everything packed?"
"I've had everything packed since last night. I'm too excited." Van said.
"Ready." Holly said.
"How are we getting there in the first place?" Van said. "Are we all just going to take Mom's car?"
"Better. Mommy and I have a little surprise for the both of you and it's right downstairs and on the street." Paul said. Van and Holly seemed excited about this. They couldn't wait around to see it as they ran right out to go see it.
"Hey, you two! Get back here! Don't go off on your own!" Jean called, but those two kept going.
"I'll go get them." Paul said as he grabbed some bags and hurried after them. Van and Holly wanted to know what this little surprise was. They ran all the way down to the street and when they ran right outside, they were met with an R.V. with Paul running up behind them.
"Wow!" Van said.
"Yeah. An R.V. I rented one to try and make camping more fun and comfortable." Paul said. "Should make the trip easier since we'll be on the road for a few hours."
"What's an R.V.?" Holly asked.
"It stands for recreational vehicle." Paul said. "It's going to give us the comforts of a house while we're on the road."
"Awesome!" Van said. Once they saw this, they couldn't wait to try it out. Jean came down and met up with them and they got their stuff loaded in the R.V.
"Ready?" Jean said as she took the wheel and ended up being the one to drive. Everyone looked ready for this and didn't want to wait around. "Remember you two, be careful while we're moving."
"Next stop, camping grounds." Paul said. With all that, the Porters hit the road and were heading out of the city and into a place where they can do nothing, but just relax and have some fun. Of course, being a parent, they'll have a hard time relaxing because they'll be trying to keep their kids out of trouble.
...
The Campsite
It took a few hours, but the Porters were able to get out of the city, hit the road, and headed for the campsite. Heading out of the city and into actual nature was a bit of a big thing for the kids. It's actually the first time since the kids went to a less populated place.
"Here we are." Paul said. They pulled up the R.V. near a lake with a dock.
"There are no buildings around. Where are all the buildings?" Holly asked.
"There are none, sweetie." Jean said. "This is a place of nature and you can find some stuff here you might not be able to in the city."
"Take a look. We're free to go swimming in that lake if we want." Paul said.
"Oh yeah!" Van said as he grabbed his swim trunks and ran out as fast as he could to the lake to go for a swim.
"Van!" Paul called to try and stop him. "Oh man. Where does that kid get all the energy?"
"Probably from having spider stamina." Jean mocked. Paul hurried after Van to make sure he'll be okay in the water. Once Van had his little swim, they all got their stuff and tried to set their stuff so they can have some fun camping. It was already going well with them starting a fire and started to do some cooking.
"Do people do this a lot when they camp?" Holly asked.
"Maybe, but everyone camps a little differently." Paul said.
"Did you ever go camping before?" Jean asked.
"A little. I went a few times when I was a kid with my family." Paul said.
"Cool!" Both of them looked up a tree and could see Van used his spider powers to climb up a little high. "The view up here is awesome! I've never seen so many trees in one place! Not even in Central Park!"
"Van, get down here this instant!" Jean said.
"Mom, I'm having fun. I'm okay." Van said.
"Now! I don't want you to fall and end up getting hurt! Don't make your father come up and get you!" Jean said.
"Okay." Van said as he started to climb is way down. "I think you should know that I know what I'm doing with my powers. What's the point in even having spider powers if I can't use them?"
"I know, honey. I get that you know what you're doing, but you're still pretty young." Jean said. "I just don't want to see you getting hurt because you weren't careful. You understand that, right?"
"Yeah..." Van said, but he still sounded upset as he went over and sat by the fire.
"I keep telling him that having these powers is a big responsibility, but he doesn't listen." Paul said.
"He's ten. Of course he doesn't understand responsibility quite yet." Jean said. "Maybe there is something he can do with his powers out here that won't end with him getting hurt." Paul thought it over.
"I think I have an idea." Paul said. "Van, how about you and me go into the forest and have some spider fun of our own." When Van heard him offer using his spider powers, he agreed instantly. Paul took Van into the woods and jumped from the trees. Van was really enjoying the chance to use his powers. "See? We're using your spider powers to jump from the trees."
"Yeah. This is great!" Van said as he jumped through the trees and Paul was making sure he wouldn't get hurt.
"Van, come over here." Paul said. Van jumped straight over to Paul and Paul was able to catch him with Paul placing him over his shoulders. "Look at that view." Van looked towards what was ahead of him and it really was a great sight as they had a clear view. "You glad we came?"
"Yeah." Van said.
"And I'm glad for to do this...because your'e starting to get a little too heavy to be on my shoulders." Paul joked.
"Dad, I do want to ask you something. When can I do what you do?" Van asked. "When do I get to fight crime?"
"Well, as your father, I'm hoping you won't have to." Paul said. "However, I suppose I do need someone to take over if I ever decide to hang up the mask. Van, you do need to understand that it isn't like what you see on T.V. It's a lot more dangerous. One mistake could have a serious cost to it. I'll do what I can for you, but I need to see that you do understand how serious this is."
"I get it, Dad. I won't let you down." Van said. "So can you let me down? This branch might not hold the both of us like this."
...
Later
Night has come and the stars were out. With less lights and no buildings to get in the way, it was a lot easier to see the stars in the night sky.
"Pretty." Holly said as the Porters gathered around the fire and stared up in the sky.
"You can only see this sort of things in nature." Jean said.
"Okay. We might be camping, but you two still have to go to bed." Paul said.
"But the R.V. only has two beds in it." Van said.
"You two take it. Mommy and I will sleep in the tent." Paul said. "Now both of you go. It's time for bed." Van and Holly got up and went to bed. That left with Paul and Jean alone. Both of them laid on the ground with Jean cuddling up with Paul. She gave him a peck on the cheek and was enjoying their time.
"I'm really glad we came here." Jean said.
"So am I." Paul said as he sat up. "I'm going to take a quick dip in the lake and we can hit the hay as well."
"Swimming in the lake? Now?" Jean questioned.
"It will just be a quick bath." Paul said. He went for the lake, but this did give Jean an idea of her own. Paul stripped down and went in the water with him soaking himself. Jean walked out on the deck and spotted him.
"How's the water?" Jean said.
"It's actually relaxing with it being night." Paul said. That's all she really need to hear as Jean was beginning to make her move. Paul had his back to her and didn't see what she was doing. He did hear a splash, but he saw Jean was gone. "Jean?" He looked around for her and didn't quite see her clothes left on the deck. Jean looked around for her, but she revealed herself as she wrapped her arms around him and he felt something about her on his back. "What's this about?"
"Well, we hardly get to spend much time together." Jean said. Paul liked the idea and turned to face her.
"What if the kids see us?" Paul said.
"I don't think we have to worry about that." Jean said as he pulled Paul in and kissed her. With no kids to stop them and nothing keeping them apart, they sealed the deal. Meanwhile, in the R.V., Holly and Van were asleep, but Van woke up a little as he felt something weird. He moved the curtain to see what was in the lake, but he didn't see anything.
"Van? What's wrong?" Holly asked.
"Sorry. I thought there was something in the lake. I'm probably just imagining things." Van said and the two of them went back to sleep. Van just missed his parents in the middle of something that would have been inappropriate for him. Paul had Jean pressed against a tree and they were in their birthday suits making out. Jean wrapped her legs around him and Jean whispered in his ear as he moved his lips down his body. Jean could just feel his hard body pressing against her and she just loved it because it's with the man she loves deeply.
...
The Next Morning
Van and Holly woke up and stepped out of the R.V. However, Van thought something was off when he didn't see his parents. He went right over the tent.
"Mom? Dad?" Van said. He was about to open it, but Paul opened it for him and stuck his head out.
"Morning, Van." Paul said.
"Is everything okay? You and Mom aren't up yet." Van said.
"No, we just woke up like you." Paul said. "We'll be out in a few minutes." Van just let it go as Paul went back in.
"That was a little close." Jean said as she and Paul tried to keep their naked bodies covered.
"If we end up having a third child because of this, you're telling them where babies coming from." Paul said.
