TOT (The Other Time)

Ooh, make love to me

One more time, before you go away

Why can't you stay?

Ooh, my love...Come home to me

Just for a while, I'll leave this piece of you

Why can't you stay?

Is the morning after, she is slowly waking up when she feels the smell of fresh coffee and vanilla coming from her kitchen.

Harvey is not by her side.

She is just covered with her white sheet and is looking for something to wear when he appears in the bedroom, two mugs in hand, just wearing his briefs and a big Cheshire's cat smile on his face.

She blush at the sight of him like that.

"Good morning, Donna"

"Good morning, Harvey", she said with a subtle grin.

"I thought you might need this", he adds while passing her the fish mug with hot coffee inside.

"Thanks", Donna says and takes a sip.

"It's delicious", she adds.

"I know", Harvey winks.

She rolls her eyes.

Harvey smiles while drinking his own coffee and sees Donna just with the thin layer of white fabric covering her breast. He knows she is not wearing anything else, her panties are on the floor and her pajamas scattered all over the bedroom.

Donna notices him staring and blushes.

"Stop looking at me that way", she says while taking another sip of her coffee.

"How?", he adds grinning

"Like you are undressing me"

"Well, that I already did" he says while removing the sheet from her body and leaning to kiss her breasts.

"Harvey..."

"Do you want me to stop?", he asks

"No..."

That's all the encouragement he needs, a couple of minutes later they are having sex again. Soft moans invading the room.

Their chemistry in bed is something else, something none of them have experienced before.

Both of them know that staying longer could create complications, so, after this early morning encounter, Harvey steps from Donna's bed and heads to the bathroom to take a quick shower.

She is preparing some breakfast when he appears in the kitchen ready to leave.

"Are you staying for breakfast?", she asks

"I am preparing French toasts and I still have some strawberries and whipped cream to accompany them", she adds laughing.

Harvey smiles at the comment and the gesture but he knows he can't stay any longer, because if he stays, sooner or later, they will end in bed again, because if she's near, he needs to touch her, feel her...

"Thanks, Donna, but I have to go"

"Ok, Harvey", she responds with a sad smile on her face.

Both of them look like they don't want to separate from each other.

Both of them knowing this is the most reasonable action.

So, he leaves... not before taking one strawberry from the bowl and saying: "for the road"

Both smile.

He closes the door behind him and rests his head against it.

This is getting hard. He wants to go back inside and have breakfast with her and stay the rest of the day… the night… and even do everything again.

Don't run away

Don't slip away, my dear

Don't run away

Don't slip away, my dear

(Don't ruin this heart of mine)

What is happening to Harvey Specter? He usually doesn't have any problems with one night stands. At the end, both know it was a one time thing. No strings attached. But with Donna, it is different.

The sun is gone

It fell into the fall

But I don't want it this way

Why can't you stay?

The day passed by... and both of them have been thinking about the other. None of them brave enough to make a call or send a text.

Donna knows Harvey is not the type to sleep with someone and start a relationship. She knows he likes to be alone and having a "girlfriend" is not one of his priorities.

Harvey knows Donna will never consider being in a relationship with him, specially because he just realized he will also need her as his secretary. He is not willing to go to Pearson Hardman without her.

He needs her. In any possible way.

But being honest with himself, he is not good with relationships. Sooner or later, he might end up doing something that will screw the relationship between them and he will lose her. And he can't take that risk. So if he has to make a decision, he prefers to offer her a job. And keep her close to him as his secretary, as his friend.

Don't run away

Don't slip away, my dear

Don't run away

Don't slip away, my dear

Don't run away

He decides to call her two days after their night together. He says he has something important to say and that he has to see her.

They agree to meet at Lakeview.

She is already there when he arrives.

They chat for a while and order some coffee.

Things feel a little awkward so is Donna the one that goes straight to the point.

"What was so important that you had to see me?"

"I don't know how to say it, so I'm just gonna come out and say it but... I don't want to lose you… come work for me."

"What?", she responds

"Don't go to Skaden, I took a job at my old firm. I was hoping you'd be happy".

Harvey is afraid of listening to her answer.

"W— I - am...!" Donna is stumbling.

"If this is about your rule..?", he has to know.

"No, it's not about that", she quickly replies.

"Because if I had known that this was gonna happen.. I never would have come over."

He immediately regrets this statement. If he is honest with himself, he doesn't regret having come over.

"Why didn't you know that it was gonna happen?", she inquiries.

"Because I hadn't thought about taking another job before... and when I did... I thought about who I wanted to take it with...

Look, I don't wanna find out what kind of lawyer I'd be without you..."

Harvey can't hide his nervosity

Donna sighs heavily…

"Ok, I will come work with you on two conditions. First, we put it out of our minds and we never mention it again."

Harvey's heart breaks a little. This is not going to be easy. But just adds: "Second?"

"You are giving me a huge goddam bonus..."

And their conversation flows, he is happy that she accepted. At least he will have her by his side. Not the real way he would like but it's something.

There should be words

There should be words that explain the way

But I'm tongue tied and twisted

Where's those words...

He hopes that someday things change, and that some day, her rule changes or he becomes brave enough to offer her something more than a job.

Because if he is honest with himself, he wants to offer her a forever by his side.

Since the day he met her at the bar, he can't go back to the way he was before. He can't see a future without Donna.

Don't run away

Don't slip away, my dear
