After Meteora Butterfly's attack ended and she was reverted back into an infant, things have been quite peaceful in the land of Mewni, the home dimension of former Princess Star Butterfly.
After handing back the crown and passin the role of Queen to Eclipsa since she recently found that she wasn't a real Butterfly, she mostly just hung out now at the now Monster Temple along with her best friend from Earth Marco Diaz since Butterfly Castle was destroyed from Meteora's attack, helping and waiting to be useful for Eclipsa if she needed her.
As for Eclipsa, she was working hard to bring back her monster husband globgor from his crystal prison but to no avail. She tried every one of her spells in the book includin midnight shrek, etc. She even tried breaking the prison with an ax, but nothin. Rhombulus' crystals were just too strong.
As for everyone else, they were on to their own things. Moon and River were enjoying their time in the forest. Surprisingly, Moon had found she actually enjoyed taking in the relaxin atmosphere and sippin tea rather than deal with the pressures of royal life. It was a nice change of scenary.
The Mhc were partying and celebrating the defeat of Meteora and Mewni being safe once again. And everyone else was just enjoying themselves in their own dimension including Tom Lucitor listening to a love sentence CD, Kelly battlin monsters and Pony head just being her wild self. And everyone in Mewni was working to rebuild Mewni back after Meteora nearly ruined it.
Yup it was just a nice and quiet time in Mewni….
Except it wouldn't be like this for long…..
"Come on! Come on!" Eclipsa grunted as she banged hard on the crystal with her husband with all her might with the ax but to no avail. That crystal just wouldn't break.
"Whew!" She wiped the sweat off her forehead and looked at the crystal. There wasn't even a small tiny crack.
"Oh, Rhombulus why are your crystals so strong?" She groaned. She then sighed sadly and stared at globgor with a trace of longing in her eyes. She really missed him and wanted to be with him again after all these years.
"Oh don't worry honey. I'll find a way to get you out I promise." She kissed his crystal.
Then suddenly, she felt something strange at the bottom of her foot and furrowed her eyebrows. It felt cold, like her feet were trapped in blocks of ice.
She looked down and a shocked expression came on her face. "What's this? This is odd!"
Her feet were trapped in blocks of ice! And they looked like Rhombulus crystals! Just then, like a disease, the ice spread up to her legs and soon nearly reached her waste.
Eclipsa panicked, fear in her eyes. She tried to zap the spread of the ice away with her parasol wand, but to no avail. Soon it reached her chest area. Because she waved her wand so fast, it accidentally fell off her hand and fell to the floor.
She didn't have her wand and this ice was up to her head!
"Ahhhh! Someone help! Someone help! Heeeelllllllp-"
Unfortunately, it was too late. The ice had passed Eclipsa's forehead and she was in the exact same state that her husband was and she herself was in for 300 years. Trapped and frozen in a crystal.
But her cries did not go unanswered, as Star Butterfly rushed into the room. "Eclipsa! Eclipsa! What's-"
She paused and a shocked expression came on her face upon seeing Eclipsa trapped once again in a crystal and her wand lying there on the floor. "Oh no! Eclipsa?!"
Soon Marco came into the room. "Star, what's going on? What-" he paused as soon as he saw what happened. "Whoa! What happened to Eclipsa?"
"I don't know! She was screaming for help and when I came here, she was just frozen! But I'll save her!"
She took Eclipsa's wand off the floor and it transformed back into her purple wand with the white butterfly wings, golden star in the center and demon horns at the top.
"Huh, been awhile since I used this! Now hang on, Eclipsa I'll free you again!"
With a determined look on her face, Star tried many magic blasts with her wand, but it didn't work. Eclipsa was trapped.
Star panted. "Man this is as strong as Rhombulus crystals." Just then her eyes widened and she frowned, coming to a realization. "Wait a minute! Rhombulus! I bet he came here and froze Eclipsa a second time!"
"Are you sure it's him?" Marco questioned.
"Who else do we know has crystal powers, Marco? It's gotta be him!" She took out her compact mirror and dialed his number. "Oh, I'm gonna give him a piece of my mind…."
"Nope sorry wasn't me!"
"What?!" Star looked stunned. "What do you mean?! It has to be you! Who else can trap people in crystals but you?!"
"Look kid, as much as I hate Eclipsa, I swear I didn't do it! I was at the meeting all day!"
"Oh yeah, that's right. I forgot about that." It was true. Rhombulus hadn't stopped once at the crystal place and was completely booked all day with magic high commission stuff, so it couldn't have been him.
"That's correct! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to leave. They're serving pizza right now!" he became all giddy and disconnected the line.
Star sighed and closed her compact mirror.
Marco stared at her. "So? Did you find what you need?"
Star shook her head. "No. Rhombulus insists he didn't do it and I believe him. I haven't seen him here all day."
"What? But if it wasn't Rhombulus then how else did Eclipsa get frozen again?" Marco wondered aloud.
"I don't know Marco, but something bad is going on. I can feel it."
Not too far away in the remains of the destroyed Butterfly castle, a blue hand emerged from a broken castle wall. The skin spread around the skeletal body to form the shape of a septarian. An eyeball had rolled and popped itself back to it's socket. Soon a suit appeared on the septarian along with its long flowing blue hair.
The septarian had completely transformed and regenerated back to its old self. He took a look at his surroundings and cackled to himself. "Hello Mewni."
It was Toffee! Last he remembered, Star Butterfly had blasted him and apparently destroyed him, but nope! Here he was fully regenerated and ready to take revenge. Star Butterfly and Mewni better watch out!
