Third Person's POV

"God, it's like Times Square down there." Andrea said, looking over the edge of the roof, as Morales, Rick, and Sadie walked back over to them.

"How's that signal?" Morales questioned. "Like Dixon's brain — weak." T-Dog answered and Merle flipped him off. "Keep trying." Morales told T-Dog. "Why? There's nothing they can do. Not a damn thing." Andrea said and Morales turned to Rick and Sadie.

"Got some people outside the city, is all. There's no refugee centre. That's a pipe dream." Morales told them as they looked over the edge. "Then she's right. We're on our own. It's up to us to find a way out." Rick agreed.

"Good luck with that. These streets ain't safe in this part of town from what I hear. Ain't that right, sugar tits?" Merle turned to Andrea, who was packing a bag. "Hey, honeybunch, what day you get me out of these cuffs, we go somewhere and bump some uglies. Gonna die anyway." Merle said to Andrea and Sadie rolled her eyes.

"I'd rather." Andrea replied and stood up, finishing what she was doing. "Rug muncher. I figured as much." Merle muttered before setting eyes on Sadie. "What about you, little niece? Why don't you help your old uncle out and get me out of these cuffs?" Merle said and Sadie turned to face him.

"You'll be out soon enough. Just relax." Sadie answered and Merle narrowed his eyes. "Well, screw you." He said, but it didn't bother Sadie. Growing up, he said that to her at least once a week. "I've been told." Sadie said, rolling her eyes and turning back to Rick and the group.

"The streets ain't safe. Now there's an understatement." Morales spoke, turning to Rick. "What about under the streets? The sewers?" Rick suggested and Morales turned to Glenn. "Oh man. Hey, Glenn, check the alley. You see any manhole covers?" Morales asked and Glenn ran over to the other side of the roof to look down to check.

Then he ran back to the group. "No, must be all out on the street where the geeks are." Glenn told them. "Maybe not. Old building like this built in the '20s – big structures often had drainage tunnels into the sewers in case of flooding down in the subbasements." The woman Sadie didn't know the name of said.

"How do you know that?" Glenn questioned. "It's my job – was. I worked in the city's zoning office." The woman answered and so they all went to the basement.

The group stopped in front of a creepy hole that had a ladder that led down to the tunnels. "This is it? Are you sure?" Morales questioned.

"I really scoped this place out the other times I was here. It's the only thing in the building that goes down. But I've never gone down it. Who'd want to, right?" Glenn said and everyone looked over at him. "Oh. Great." He muttered.

"We'll be right behind you." Andrea tried to comfort him. "No, you won't. Not you." Glenn responded. "Why not me? Think I can't?" Andrea demanded and the poor guy shook his head. "I wasn't..." Glenn trailed off. "Speak your mind." Rick told him.

"Look, until now I always came here by myself – in and out, grab a few things – no problem. The first time I bring a group, everything goes to hell. No offense." Glenn paused for a second.

"If you want me to go down this gnarly hole, fine. But only if we do it my way. It's tight down there. If I run into something and have to get out quick, I don't want you all jammed up behind me getting me killed. I'll take one person – not you either." Glenn told Rick.

"You and Sadie have guns and bullets and I've seen you shoot. Both of you. I'd feel better if you two were out in that store watching those doors, covering our ass. And you've got the only other gun, so you should go with them." Glenn told Rick and Sadie and then Andrea.

"You come with me. And Jacqui stays here. Something happens, yell down to us, get us back up here in a hurry." Glenn told Morales and then Jacqui. Sadie was happy to finally learn her name.

"That's a good plan, but there's one thing I think you should change. I'm small and fast, I should go with you. I can give Morales my gun and I have my knife in case anything goes wrong and we can't get out." Sadie told him and Glenn considered it. "Rick?" He asked for his opinion.

"Sadie's right. She's quick and she can take care of herself. She won't get in your way and she can help if anything goes wrong." Rick said and Sadie appreciated it. "Okay. Give Morales your gun and then come with me." Glenn said and Sadie nodded.

"Everybody knows their jobs." Rick said as Sadie took her bag off and took her gun out. She handed it to Morales before handing the box of bullets to Rick. "Good luck." She told him.

"Same for you." He responded before Glenn started climbing down the hole. Sadie took her picture of Daryl and Merle out of her flannel and put in in her bag, which she left with Jacqui.

Then, with a flashlight in one hand and her knife in the other, she climbed down into the gnarly hole to where Glenn was. At the bottom of the ladder was a thin layer of water and a tunnel.

Sadie and Glenn pointed their flashlights at it before glancing at each other and walking down it. There was a squeaking sound and Sadie flashed her light at the ground and saw a rat.

"Ugh." Glenn groaned, seeing the rodent. Then the rat ran down the tunnel and the two followed it at a regular pace. Then they came to a door, which Glenn pushed open.

They walked down a few steps to where a barred entrance to a sewer tunnel was. "Yeah, we've got ourselves a sewer tunnel. Jacqui was right." Glenn spoke.

"Can we cut through it?" Sadie questioned him. "If we had a blowtorch and half a day, sure. Nothing we have here will do it." Glenn answered and Sadie sighed in disappointment.

Then the rat squeaking was heard again along with some munching. Sadie and Glenn looked down at the ground on the other side of the bars with their flashlights and gasped in shock when they saw a walker there, eating the rat.

But the walker threw the rat aside and tried to grab at Glenn and Sadie through the bars when it saw them. Sadie tried to catch her breath and slow her heartbeat which had sped up from the surprise and adrenaline.

Sadie stepped forward, dodging the walkers arms trying to grab her, and thrust her knife into the walker's forehead. She waited for a moment until the walker stopped struggling and then pulled the knife out, the walker falling to the ground, dead.

Glenn watched this happen half-impressed and half-apprehensive of this young girl who took out a walker like it was nothing.
