Third Person's POV

Glenn and Sadie got back upstairs to the entrance just in time to see the walkers break through the first set of glass doors and start on the second one. The last one between the walkers and the humans.

Rick, Morales, and Andrea all ran in front of it and put their guns up, just in case, just as Glenn and Sadie ran over. "What did you find down there?" Rick questioned. "Not a way out." Glenn answered. "We need to find a way... and soon." Andrea spoke as Morales handed Sadie her gun back.

So most of the group went back up to the roof to try and figure out a plan to escape. Rick was currently looking through binoculars at the city to try and accomplish that task.

"That construction site, those trucks – they always keep keys on hand." Rick said and passed the binoculars to Morales. "You'll never make it past those walkers." He replied, looking down at the streets that were littered with them.

"You got Sadie and I out of that tank." Rick turned to Glenn. "Yeah, but they were feeding. They were distracted." Glenn answered. "Can we distract them again?" Rick questioned.

"Right. Listen to him. He's onto something. A diversion, like on 'Hogan's Heroes.'" Merle spoke up, making his niece roll her eyes. "God. Give it a rest." Jacqui said, annoyed at Merle. Like everyone else was.

"What about sound? That draws them, right?" Sadie suggested, trying to help them with their brainstorming session. "Right, like dogs. They hear a sound, they come." Glenn told them.

"What else?" Rick asked them, glancing around for answers. "Aside from they hear you? They see you, smell you and if they catch you, eat you." Morales answered. Great.

"They can tell us by smell?" Rick questioned. "Can't you?" Glenn responded. "They smell dead, we don't. It's pretty distinct." Andrea said and Sadie had to agree with her. The walkers literally smelled like death. Rick sighed before coming up with an idea.

"If bad ideas were an olympic event, this would take the gold." Glenn said as Rick grabbed rubber gloves off of the stores shelves.

"It's a crazy idea, we get that, but if it works then we can all escape. You can go back to your families and I can see my dad again." Sadie stood up for Rick as he grabbed some more supplies.

"Listen, Kid, that'd be great, but I think Glenn's right. Just stop, okay? Take some time to think this through." Morales tried to convince them and Sadie's nose flared in anger at the nickname.

"First of all, I wouldn't suggest calling her 'Kid'. She's sensitive about that. Second, how much time? They've already gotten through one set of doors and that glass won't hold forever." Rick said, before throwing a safety jacket at Glenn, who did not look happy about it.

Then Rick kept one for himself and threw each of the group a safety jacket, everyone except Sadie, which confused her. "Hey, Rick. Where's mine?" She questioned him.

Rick glanced down at her while continuing to grab supplies he needed. "You don't need one. You're not going to help us cut the walker open and you're certainly not coming with us." Rick told her, starting to head back to the room with to the door to the alleyway.

Sadie walked quickly to keep up with him. "No way! We've been through too much together in the last few days for us to separate now. I have to come with you!" She exclaimed, making Rick suddenly stop walking.

Sadie wasn't expecting him to stop like that and almost walked into him. Then Rick turned around to face her, crouching down to her level.

"That's why you can't come with me. Listen, I know how well you can take care of yourself, I've seen it. But this is different. We're not fighting, we're taking a risk. And I won't let you take that risk. Not you. We've been through too much together in the last few days for me to ever risk your life in the way Glenn and I are about to, Sadie. Okay? I won't." Rick told her and she could tell by his voice that there was no room to argue.

Sadie lowered her gaze and nodded to show him she understood. She hated being sidelined, but she would just have to deal with it. Her dad was super protective of her, but he knew her capabilities and knew when she was able to take risks and when she wasn't. So Rick saying what he said reminded her of Daryl and how much she missed him.

Seeing Sadie nod, Rick stood up and continued walking to the room, Sadie and the group following behind him.
