Third Person's POV

"I'm gonna get there before you!" Camilla Moore yelled over her shoulder to her best friend, Dean Winchester.

The two kids were at Dean's house, racing to the tree house in his backyard. His mom, Mary Winchester, was babysitting Cami while her parents were at work.

"You wish." Dean replied, pushing himself to run faster. Cami glanced back and saw him catching up with her, so she ran faster despite the protest from her legs.

Finally, Cami got to the treehouse and turned around just in time to see Dean reach the treehouse as well. "I won!" Cami said happily, a large smile on her face. "No fair. You had a head start." Dean replied, though he was also smiling.

"That's 'cause you're a slow poke." Cami said, poking his chest. "Am not." Dean argued, smiling.

Dean and Cami never got mad at each other, they were as close as best friends could be. Their parents called them inseparable.

"Come on." Cami said, starting to climb the ladder up to the treehouse. Dean followed her up and they both climbed in.

"So, what do you wanna do?" Dean asked as Cami sat down in the middle of the floor. "Wanna play cards?" She asked him. "Sure. Crazy 8s?" He suggested and Cami nodded.

Dean got the cards out and they ended up playing for an hour. Out of the four games they played, Cami won two and Dean won two.

"I'm bored. Can we do something else?" Cami asked her best friend. "Mm-hm. How about we go catch some butterflies?" Dean suggested and she nodded eagerly.

The two kids climbed down the treehouse and grabbed some jars (with holes on the lid) from inside the house and processed to catch butterflies outside.

Or... at least Dean did. After twenty minutes Cami still hadn't caught one, while Dean was on his ninth. He happily captured his tenth while his friend gave up and just sat down on the grass.

"What's wrong?" Dean asked Cami, concerned, as he sat next to her. She didn't answer him, just showed him her empty jar. "You can have some of my butterflies if you want." Dean offered, holding out his jar towards her.

Cami grinned and quickly kissed Dean's cheek, before giving him a big hug. "Thank you, Dean. You really are the best friend I could ask for." She told him, sincerely. His cheeks tinted pink as she pulled away.

"Dean, Cami, supper!" Mary called to the kids from the doorway to the house. "Coming, Mom!" Dean called back to her and the two stood up.

"Food!" Cami exclaimed happily, making Dean chuckle. "Race?" She challenged him and he smirked. "You're on." They both took off, ending with Cami beating him by a few seconds.

"I told you you're a slow poke." The girl teased him, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "I let you win." Dean replied. "I'm sure." Cami said sarcastically, before they took off their shoes and went to the table.

Mary sat on one end of the table, Dean and Cami sat beside each other on one side of the table, and Sammy sat across from the four-year-olds in his highchair. Dean and Cami looked on the table eagerly to see what they were eating. It was chicken fettuccine alfredo.

"Where's Dad?" Dean asked his mother. "Dad had to work late tonight. He should be home in a couple hours." Mary answered her son.

"This looks great. Thanks, Mary." Cami spoke as Mary served the kids some food. "You're welcome, sweetie." She replied.

So they ate supper, Sam having puréed chicken instead of the meal the rest of them were eating. After supper came the kids favourite part: dessert.

Mary brought out brownies and Cami and Dean grinned as she put one in front of each of them. "Thank you." The kids spoke in unison, before digging into their brownies.

Soon, they were done and decided to watch a movie; The Aristocats. They had already watched it together, but Cami loved it so much, they decided to watch it again.

A quarter way through it, there was a knock on the door. Dean paused the movie and the two headed to the door where Mary already was. She had already opened the door and Stephen and Audrey Moore were standing in the doorway.

"Hey, Cami. Have a fun day?" Stephen asked the young girl, who nodded enthusiastically. Stephen chuckled. "I'm glad. You ready to go?" He asked. Dean and Cami glanced at each other, both thinking the same thing.

"Could I spend the night?" Cami asked her parents, pulling the puppy dog eyes. "Please, Mom? Please?" Dean asked his mom, also pulling the puppy eyes.

The adults just chuckled. "It's okay with us, if it's okay with Mary." Audrey told her daughter, glancing over at Mary.

You see, Audrey and Mary also grew up together and were best friends ever since they were young. So it just made sense that they would live next to each other as adults and their kids would also be best friends.

Dean and Cami both turned to Mary, working their puppy eyes even more, trying to convince her to let Cami stay the night.

"Cami is always welcome here." Mary answered. "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you." Dean and Cami said in sync, both hugging their parents.

"Okay. I guess we'll be going now. But Cami, come over tomorrow morning to get clothes before we leave for work." Audrey told her daughter who nodded.

Stephen and Audrey said goodnight to Mary and the kids before they left. And once they did, Dean and Cami immediately raced back to the living room to finish the movie. They were both pretty tired after it finished.

"Let's go say goodnight to your brother before you go to sleep." Mary told Dean and Cami. Six-month-old Sam Winchester wasn't technically Cami's brother, but she always treated him as one since the day he was born.

Dean and Cami nodded and Mary picked them up, one in each arm. When they got to Sammy's nursery, Mary put them down and turned on the light. Dean and Cami went over to Sammy's crib and Dean leaned over and kissed his forehead.

"'Night Sam." Dean spoke before moving aside so Cami could kiss Sam's forehead. "'Night Sammy." Cami told him before she stood aside with Dean, letting Mary say goodnight to her youngest son.

"Goodnight, love." Mary brushed Sam's hair back and kissed his forehead.

"Hey, Dean, Cami." A man spoke from the doorway. The two kids spun around and grinned. "Daddy!" Dean exclaimed at the same time Cami exclaimed, "John!" Dean and Cami raced towards him. "Hey, buds." He replied and scooped them up, one in each arm.

Mary and John felt as if they were as much Cami's parents as Stephen and Audrey. She spent much more time with them and they loved each other as family.

"So what do you think? You think Sammy's ready to toss around a football yet?" John asked the kids in his arms. "No, Daddy." "No, silly." Dean and Cami answered, shaking their heads and laughing. John laughed as well. "No."

Mary passed them on her way out the room. "You got them?" She asked John, referring to Dean and Cami. "I got 'em." John confirmed and hugged the kids closer. "Sweet dreams, Sammy." John said before he carried Dean and Cami out of the room, flipping off the lights as he went.

John took them to Dean's room, where he put the down. "Okay, change into your pyjamas. Dean, give Cami a pair of clothes to change into." John instructed and Dean nodded, walking over to his dresser. He came back with a pair of pyjamas, which he handed to Cami. So she went into the bathroom across the hall to change into them.

Cami quickly changed into them and went back to Dean's room. John then tucked the two into Dean's bed. They were only four years old, so John and Mary weren't worried about anything happening.

"Goodnight, kiddos." John told them and kissed the top of Dean's head before he kissed Cami's forehead.

"Goodnight Dad," Dean spoke as Cami said, "Goodnight John." He shut off the lights and left the room, leaving the two kids alone in the room. Dean and Cami both fell straight asleep right away, tired from the day they had.

~~~
Dean and Cami woke up to the sound of a scream. It sounded like Mary. They got out of bed to go investigate. They were heading down the hall when they saw John rushing out of Sammy's nursery, holding Sam.
John shoved Sam at Dean. "Take your brother outside as fast as you can and don't look back! Now, Dean, Cami, go!" John ordered and they did as they were told.
The two kids ran out the front door. "It's alright, Sam, Cami," Dean tried to comfort his little brother and best friend. They stopped running to look at Sammy's nursery window, which was lit gold.
Behind them, John ran out of the house and scooped them up into his arms. In one arm was Dean holding Sam and in the other was Cami. John carried them away from the house, right before fire burst out Sammy's window.
~~~

Later on, John, Dean, Cami, and Sam were sitting on the hood of the Impala across the street from the house as firemen rushed around the half-burnt building.

No words were spoken, but John held Sammy protectively as Dean held onto Cami for support.

She could tell he was feeling a lot of different emotions: confusion, depression, and anger to name a few. And he was struggling to stay strong.

Cami was sitting in front of him and he hugged her from behind, clutching her as if if he let go she would disappear from his life too, just like Mary who hadn't made it out of the fire.

Cami wasn't doing the best either. She had loved Mary as a second mother and was feeling all the emotions that Dean was.

"Camilla! Cami!" A couple voices screamed. Dean, John and Cami all looked up to see Stephen, Audrey, and Cami's older eight-year-old brother Damien running across the street towards them.

"Mom, Dad, Dam." Cami breathed out and detached herself from Dean to go hug her parents. She gave Dean a glance to tell him she would be right back before running to her family.

Her parents kneeled down to Cami's level and they all pulled her into the tightest hug she had ever gotten. "Cami. Thank God you're alright." Stephen spoke. Then her parents pulled away from the young girl to look her in the eyes.

"What happened? Do you know how the fire started?" Audrey bombarded her with questions. Cami just looked at her with her mouth open, not knowing what to say. She didn't know exactly what had happened, and even if she did, she couldn't talk. She wasn't processing what had happened.

So, all Cami did was run back to the Impala and sit back in front of Dean, who clutched his hands around her shoulders again.

~~~
Soon Cami's parents told her she should come home and get some rest. She didn't want to leave Dean, she really didn't, but her parents didn't give her a choice.
Cami turned around to look at the boy behind her. "I've got to go. I'll see you later though, I promise. I love you, Dean." She told her best friend and pulled him in for a hug. He hugged back just as tightly as she was hugging him and whispered in her ear, "I love you too, Cam."
After a few moments, Cami pulled away. "I'll see you tomorrow." She told him as her parents started walking her and Damien back to their house.
But she didn't. When Cami woke up for the second time that day, John, Dean and Sammy were gone. They had left and she didn't even get to say goodbye. And nobody could tell her where they went.
Cami made a promise to Dean in her head, I will find you. No matter if it's ten years or twenty, I will find you.
