Chapter 13:

The sun shined as we took a break from making our way along the dirt path. It had been a day since we left the Pokemon village and Freyr joined my team. We hadn't trained much during the last days, as I wanted to spend some time with Rapier again and get to know Freyr better. The anime is great to get a grasp of his personality, although, I can hardly get to know anything specific about him from the videos, as all he says is 'bulba' and 'saur'. Apparently my ability does not translate the sounds coming from these recorded videos that came with me from my dimension, even though, until now, I was able to understand perfectly any Pokemon in the videos from this universe.

I also started to think about what would be the best diet for Freyr, although, I'll only feed him Standard Pokemon food until Professor Oak verifies it. Better be safe than sorry. I consider myself already decently skilled in the arts of Pokemon food making, but I still don't have the confidence that I will not make an error and end up poisoning the bulb Pokemon. And, I would want the best Pokemon food, I can offer him, with an equilibrate nutritional value and a lot of nutrients for him to grow.

Letting out a breath of relief, I take a sip of cold water from my canteen. Rapier and Milo also seem to relax behind me, enjoying the little pause, we are taking after walking for hours. I'm letting Rapier walk alongside us, so he gets used to his new form and to build his stamina and muscles on his new wings. He seemed to appreciate the walk and I didn't mind, even, if Misty was noticeably maintaining a 'safe' distance from my cute bug and, therefore, me too.

"Hey look at that," Misty interrupts my train of thought, making me look in the same direction as her.

"It looks like some kind of giant Pokemon!" Ash exclaims fearfully as he looks towards the shadow of what appears to be a big Pokemon.

"Pikachu," he calls for his Pokemon, but the small electric mouse decides to hide behind our bags.

Gathering courage, our group approaches the shadow. Tension filling the air, only for the giant Pokemon to be revealed and for us to see that it is only a Charmander sitting on top of a big rock, making us all fall flat on our faces. So, it is already time for this, huh?

Ash, without wasting a moment, points his Pokedex towards the Charmander. "Charmander. The flame burns on the tip of its tail from birth. It is said that a Charmander dies if its tail ever goes out," Ash's Pokedex recited.

"I always wanted a Charmander, now I can get my own one," Ash joyed.

"I don't know," Misty steps forward, "it looks like it is in bad shape."

"Hurry up and catch it, so we can take it to a Pokemon centre," Brock says with me nodding at his side. The poor lizard looks very weak and exhausted.

I have been planning for this moment for quite some time. I can't forgive anyone who hurts and abandons his/her Pokemon. I'll definitely make Damian pay for his terrible acts.

"Alright," Ash makes an entire sequence of poses, before throwing a pokeball against the orange lizard, "pokeball, go!"

The pokeball makes a small ark before it is repealed by Charmander swinging his tail and making the pokeball fly back to Ash's hand.

"Hum, it looks healthy to me," Ash comments before looking over at Brock, "do you think I should let Pikachu battle it first in order to weaken it, so it will be easier to catch it?"

"Maybe you should let me battle it, my water Pokemon are strong against it," Misty suggests suddenly.

"That's a bad idea, Misty. See the flame on the end of its tail?" I point to the flickering small flame that rests at the end of Charmander's tail, "it is already very small, a water attack could end up putting Charmander in critical condition or even worse."

"Then, what do you suggest we do?" she exclaims exasperated. "It clearly isn't going to follow us to the Pokemon centre, if we ask."

"Ash, try to catch it with a pokeball again," Brock says, "it shouldn't have the strength to fight back."

"Alright!" Ash grabs the empty pokeball from the last try and throws it at the Charmander, hitting it.

We all wait expectantly, eyes fixed on the wiggling pokeball, only for the pokeball to open suddenly and the Charmander to be released back onto the rock with a defiant look on his face.

"I think this Charmander has an attitude problem," Misty says with her hands on her waist and a frown.

Suddenly, Pikachu leaves our side and walks over to the rock, before climbing it up. Getting on his back legs, he looks over to Charmander:

"Hey, why are you standing here on this rock?" Pikachu asks the orange lizard.

"I'm waiting for my trainer to come back," Charmander answers, "he told me to wait here on this rock."

Pikachu nods his head, before turning around and jumping off the rock, landing on his four legs. Shaking off the fall, he walks over to our group and starts to make signs to try to transmit Charmander's message to us. Although, thankfully, I don't have to rely on such methods and have understood the entire conversation between the two of them.

After a lot of sounds and gestures, Ash nods in understanding, "I get it!" he exclaims, "Pikachu is saying that Charmander is waiting on that rock for someone to come and get it."

How he understood what Pikachu wanted to convey, I'll never know.

"You mean it belongs to somebody?" Misty asks confused.

"I'm not exactly sure…" Ash shifts, uncertain.

Brock gets up from his crouched position, "if it is waiting for somebody, then I think we should let it be."

"I'll have to disagree with you there, Brock," I interrupt, shaking my head "even if Charmander does belong to a trainer, just look at his state. If Charmander is not taken care of soon, his health could get even worse. Not to mention that we could even ask the Pokemon centre to locate his trainer as they have machines to recognize in whom's pokeball a Pokemon was caught."

No way in hell, I'm letting poor Charmander suffer here in the rain. Like I said before, fuck canon. I'm not going to try to follow some script to make everything go exactly like the anime and risk the chance that my already existent interference causes Charmander to get worse or even die.

Brock's face turnes contemplative, "you do have a point, Aaron."

"Right? Now, Ash, see if you can carry Charmander. Since he is already someone's, we won't be able to use a pokeball." I turn to Milo, "Milo, can you convince Charmander that we only want to help and, if he wants, he can come back to his rock once he gets better?"

Milo nods, before jumping off my shoulder and going to Charmander's side. Of course, I have no intention of letting Charmander come back to this rock to wait for Damian, even, if I know, it will end up hurting Charmander. I'll have him witness Damian declare how he was trying to get rid of him. I can't let this pure soul keep following that disgusting trainer.

"Why me?!" Ash whines.

I sigh under my breath, "just please, do it for once. You want to help Charmander, too, don't you?"

Stopping for a moment, he seems to think about what I said, before nodding his head. Swiftly climbing the rock, Ash waits on the side as Milo and Charmander are having a heated discussion, with Milo trying to persuade Charmander to allow us to bring him to the Pokemon centre. Thankfully, Milo succeeds by telling him that he wouldn't be able to wait for his trainer or fight for him, if he got sick.

Although, this show of total trust and loyalty from a Pokemon would normally make me happy, now it only makes my stomach twist. How cruel is it that such a sweet and nice Pokemon had to end in Damian's hands. No, how sad is it that any Pokemon at all ended in that trash's hands.

Shaking these negative thoughts off, I extend my arm to Milo, which he uses to get on my shoulder. I look at Ash, to see him carefully holding Charmander, who is very quiet, before following the rest of my companions along with Rapier to the Pokemon centre, that according to Brock's map, shouldn't be very far from us.

"Ah, we made it," Ash exclaims as we enter the Pokemon centre, barely escaping from getting wet from the rain that just started.

"Quickly, we must ask Nurse Joy to help Charmander," I say, while putting Milo down from my shoulder, who seems to be very happy from escaping the rain, and return Rapier as he is a little too big now for staying inside when the Pokemon centre is this crowded. That's probably because this is the only safe place to pass the rain in miles.

"Right," Ash looks down on the weak Pokemon before following me towards nurse Joy, who is walking around with some blankets. Judging by the number of trainers, I won't be surprised, if all the rooms at the Pokemon centre are taken, and we'll have to sleep on the centre's couch or something, along with other trainers that also didn't get a room.

"Nurse Joy, please it's an emergency. Can you help Charmander?!" Ash asks her as he inclines his head, gesturing towards the orange lizard in his arms.

"Oh, my," Nurse Joy exclaims, when she sees Charmander's condition. "Chansey, quick, take this Charmander to the emergency room!"

"Right away," the Pokemon replies before taking Charmander from Ash's arms and putting him on a stretcher.

When Charmander is secured on the stretcher, Nurse Joy and Chansey don't waste any time and hurry to the emergency room to treat the weak Pokemon, while leaving our group looking at their backs, worrying about Charmander.

"Okay, we haven't eaten since lunch right? How about to get you all some dinner?" I try to break the foul mood, and get something to distract them from the orange Pokemon. Brock smiles weakly, obviously noticing my intentions, and herds Misty and Ash to get something to eat.

I sigh, okay, part one of my plan is complete, Charmander is safe. Now, I just need to prove that Damian is abusing his Pokemon, so he gets his trainer licence taken away and will never again be able to hurt Pokemons.

"Hey, Milo?" I call my little furball, that is looking at everything in the room with childish excitement, "do you want to beat up some bad guys?"

Milo looks at me excited, "yes! I'll beat every bad guy, like Team Rocket."

I smile at his excitement, but cringe a little at the Team Rocket comment.

"Well, you see, I think that Charmander's trainer is abusing him and that when he left Charmander on the rock, he wasn't planning on coming back," I say, making Milo gasp.

"Why do you think that?" Milo asks with a serious face. He, like me, hates people, who abuse Pokemon. I can only guess that it's because of his past. "Charmander seems to trust and love his trainer very much."

"It's because I noticed that Charmander wasn't just weak due to the waiting, but he also showed signs of malnourishment and badly healed wounds. And, if you think about it, leaving a Pokemon on a rock and telling him that you'll come back is suspiciously something that looks like a tactic to abandon the Pokemon." Milo nods at my words, looking like he was thinking carefully about what I said.

Well, the reason I know Charmander is abused is obviously because of the anime, and not from noticing signs of abuse on Charmander. But it isn't a lie either, as I'm not lying about Charmander's malnourishment and wounds. This is something that only makes me angrier at that disgusting person.

"So we'll beat the bad guys up!" Milo shouts, startling me out of my thoughts, "and then we'll rescue Charmander and everyone will be happy. We'll be like heroes from old stories! Aaron, you can be my sidekick, ok?"

I can't help, but chuckle at Milo's words, "alright, alright. But we aren't actually going to fight anyone." I say, making Milo tilt his head in confusion, "even if we win against him in battle and rescue Charmander, he'll just capture other Pokemons to torment, so we have to pull the problem by the roots and make him unable to wield any Pokemon."

"And how are we going to do that?" Milo exclaims eagerly, his full attention on me.

"You probably know that the reason Pokemon trainers can train Pokemon is because they have passed a test and given a trainer ID. So, if we show proof that he is abusing his Pokemon, something strictly prohibited, we can make the league take away his trainer ID…"

"Making him unable to legally train Pokemon!" Milo finishes, looking amazed at the plan.

"The only problem is that we must have proof. But, if I'm right Charmander shouldn't have been on that rock for more than a day, meaning that the trainer should still be nearby. And knowing that this Pokemon centre is the only building in miles, there is a big chance he's here somewhere until the rain passes," I finish, making Milo look at me with stars in his eyes, before glancing at the other trainers suspiciously.

"Wow, we're like detectives, now!" he jumps up and down, before rubbing his head on my leg.

I smile at my fluff ball, before noticing that Ash, Brock and Misty walked into the room with their food and seated together at a table to eat. It shouldn't be long before Damian appears and starts bragging about how he abandoned Charmander to his friends. I don't want to lose the right time for some reason, so I open my bag and take my Pokedex. The Pokedex ability to film is a god sent, even though I don't think Professor Oak programmed this feature into it, thinking that it would be used like this.

As I am about to look for someplace to sit and wait for Damian, I see Nurse Joy walking in a quick pace towards my travel companions, before screaming at them something I'm not able to hear because of the loud noises coming from the other trainers talking among themselves at the same time. Yet, I still can see Misty, Ash and Brock wince, before recovering and trying to explain something to her.

I'm guessing Nurse Joy was reprimanding them for Charmander's condition, and they are trying to explain the situation to her.

Shaking my head, I look around the room and spot an empty place on the side of the room that has a good view of the place Damian wills it, according to my memory.

"Yo, I thought you had a Charmander too?" Damian's friend number one asks.

"Yeah, I had one. But that cute thing couldn't beat even the weakest of opponents," Damien says smugly, making me grit my teeth.

Damian's friend number two moves closer, "so what did you do with Charmander?"

"Ahh, I left it on some rocks in the woods. That thing is so stupid, no matter what I said, it kept following me, so I got rid of it by promising that I would come back for it. He fell for it, and it's probably still there waiting for me!" Damian exclaims before starting to laugh loudly together with his friends.

I squeeze my pokeball tightly in anger at how nonchalant Damian has declared that he hadn't just abandoned his pokemon because he thought Charmander was weak, but also tricked him while doing it. At this moment I feel like there is nothing more that I want to do than to punch Damian's face right where he stands, but I take a deep breath to calm myself. Recording everything is much more important than making him feel pain right now, punching him will probably be really satisfactory, but, if I can gather enough evidence, I can probably make him lose his trainer licence, as Pokemon abuse is taken very seriously by the Pokemon league.

At my side I can feel Milo getting agitated and angry at Damien's words, his fur standing up and a hiss leaving his mouth. Trying to calm him, I softly bump into him, as both my hands are currently occupied, reminding him of our current mission.

Looking back at Damian and his group I see that Brock has gotten up and is now grabbing Damian by his shirt, lifting him with anger on his face.

"What did you say?" Brock asks angrily, "you are saying that you were planning on leaving your Charmander to wait outside in this rain?"

Damian scowls at Brock, "yeah, why does this matter? That Charmander was a weakling, after all, it was useless."

Brock only glares harder, "you lied to your Pokemon saying that you'd be back. It could've died out there in the rain, if his flame got out."

Although, I completely agree with you, Brock, I can't help but remember that when I asked Professor Oak about the Kanto starters, I discovered that thinking that Charmander and their line die from having their flame extinguished is a popular misconception, because when Charmander dies his flame goes out, making people think that the flame extinguished was the cause of Charmander's death. Anyway, that doesn't mean making Charmander's flame going out doesn't change anything, it does weaken them a lot.

"Oi! What I do is none of your business," Damian pushes himself away from Brock.

"How could you do something like that to your Pokemon?!" Ash exclaims from behind Brock.

Damian turns to him, "what did ya say punk!"

Misty wrinkles her nose, "and you call yourself a Pokemon trainer, disgusting."

Damian starts losing his patience and grabs one of his pokeballs that he had on the table, "you wanna fight with me?"

"Bring it on!" Ash challenges him back.

There is a tense moment between the two sides before Nurse Joy appears suddenly and interrupts them, "let's break it up, you know the rules, no fighting indoors."

"Whatever, I would've won the battle anyway," Damian turns to walk away.

"Stop!" Ash exclaims, before turning to Nurse Joy, "Nurse Joy this is Charmander's trainer, and he just said a few moments ago that he left Charmander behind on purpose in order to DIE!" He shouts very loudly, catching the attention of every trainer in the room, even those that before hadn't noticed Damian and his group.

I sigh, as I click the button to stop the recording, I have already enough evidence. Milo at my side looks up to me noticing movement before determining it unimportant and goes back to glaring daggers at Damian.

"What?!" Nurse Joy looks at Damian with a glare, "is that true?"

Damian seems to break out of the shock of Ash's sudden accusation, "N-no, of course not."

There is a noticeable stumble at the start, but I guess that could be seen to be caused by the shock of being accused of doing a serious crime, like Pokemon abuse.

Suddenly, Damian turns smug and looks at Ash, "do you have any proof? Accusing others of abusing their Pokemon is not to be taken lightly after all."

Damian smirks as Ash clenches his fist in irritation, I guess this is our cue to appear. With a sigh, I step forward, getting the attention of everyone in the room.

"We do have evidence," I lift my Pokedex to show it to everyone, "I have an entire video of Damian saying that he left his, quote for quote, weak and useless Charmander to die."

"Aaron!" call my three companions, surprised, while Damian starts to sweat profoundly.

Walking over to Nurse Joy, I turn my Pokedex's volume to the max before playing the video. The room is deathly silent with the only sound coming from my red device, as all trainers trying do their best to hear the audio. Every second the video progresses Nurce's Joy expression seems to get darker, as we hear Damian proclaiming his disregard of Charmander. When the video finally ends, nothing peps up in the room, only a tense silence that suffocates every trainer, as everyone in the room is at a loss of words at Damian's actions.

"What. The. Fuck." A red-haired girl is the first to say a word, "how the hell can you say that about your own Pokemon!"

It almost looks like she turned a switch and every other trainer in the room glares and sneers at Damian and his group, throwing insults and dirty looks. Damian and his friends stay paralyzed in the centre of the storm, probably still shocked at the sudden development.

"Calm down, everyone!" Nurse Joy shouts, making most of the trainers stop insulting Damian, but continue to glare daggers at him.

Nurse Joy lets out a sigh, looking like she is trying to calm down herself, "Ash, Brock, Misty and Aaron could you all please come to my office at the end of the hall in the right and wait there for me?" We all nod and start walking, "and you…"

I can't understand what she says next as we pass the other trainers that opened a space for us to walk and the whispers between the trainers get in the way. We continue to walk in silence, as we look for Nurse's Joy office before entering and falling on the chairs she has there.

"Aaron," Ash is the first to say anything, "you were amazing there. How did you know to start filming Damian at the time?"

I scratch my cheek in embarrassment, "ah, Milo and I already had our suspicions that Charmander's trainer was here in the Pokemon centre, so we were ready." I explained, not really giving any information.

"Detective Milo at your service," Milo declares comically, while using his paws to caress his nonexistent moustache.

"I wonder what Charmander will do now," Ash says quietly, but loud enough for all of us to hear.

"Did Nurse Joy tell you, if he is alright?" I ask.

Brock nods, "oh yeah, you weren't there. Yes, she told us that Charmander is very weak, but should get better after a lot of food and rest."

A small smile blossoms on my lips at the good news. Even if it doesn't make sense , but I was still afraid that for some reason Charmander would have it worse this time.

"I hope Charmander gets better... " Misty mumbles softly.

As Ash opens his mouth, the door of the office opens and Nurse Joy walks in, followed by Chansey, drawing all our attention. Walking around her table, she sits at the office chair behind her desk and looks at us.

"First of all, I want to thank you all. Ash, Misty and Brock for defending Charmander and Aaron for providing us proof," she says, "Damian and his group have always had a bad reputation, but I never thought they were abusing their Pokemon."

I can't resist my curiosity, so I speak up, "what about Damian's other Pokemon, are they alright?"

She smiles at my worry and nods, "all of them showed signs of abuse, but they are all in better shape than Charmander and should be fine again after some rest."

"I'm glad, those poor Pokemon don't deserve that kind of treatment," Misty remarks with sadness.

"But what will happen to them now?" Ash asks.

Nurse Joy smiles softly, "yet it is not decided until the police arrives, the normal protocol would be adoption."

Ash frowns, "adoption?"

"I mean, we'll give them to trainers we deem responsible and experienced enough to help them and take care of them," Nurse Joy explaines.

"I hope they all get a better chance for happy lifes now," Brock says, receiving nods of agreement from all of us.

"What will happen to Damian now, Nurse Joy?" Ash asks, making all of us, Milo included, look at her with our full attention.

Her face darkens, "he'll probably lose his trainer licence and get a few years in minor prison. After all, Pokemon abuse, not to mention eighteen cases of them, is a serious crime."

"Now, I want to thank you all again for all your help. An officer from the police should arrive tomorrow, so if you don't mind, Aaron, I would like your Pokedex to stay with me tonight, so I can show your video to them," Nurse Joy requests.

I smile knowingly, "no problem."

We all leave Nurse's Joy office and head back into the main room of the Pokemon centre. Well, my three companions do, I go to the kitchen in the back to get some dinner. I'm famished, and I don't want to have to deal with all the other trainers right now.

"Good morning, Aaron," Misty says, as she sits at my side to eat breakfast.

"Good morning to you too, Misty," I smile at her.

I have already had some exercise together with my Pokemon in the morning. Just some laps to get our day started. I remember, when I told Freyr I'm able to fully comprehend Pokemon, his face was so funny. But thinking of Freyr, I have already looked into what kinda training and attacks I want to train him in, so I'm quite excited to have some time to have everyone train together. Not to mention that now that Rapier finally evolved, we'll have to train harder than ever.

Maybe I should call Professor Oak now that I'm at a Pokemon centre and resolve Freyr's food problem. I stare at my blueberry pancake before cutting a piece and putting it in my mouth, enjoying the sweet taste. Hmm, that would be a good idea, maybe give the old man a small recap of what has happened so far.

Finishing my sweet gorgeousness, I pick Milo up, who is resting against my leg, and walk to the videophones Pokemon centres have before dialing the famous professor's number. I hope he's already awake.

"Hello, Professor Oak here, who's speaking," I hear Professor Oak's voice.

I sigh in relief, thankful that I have not disturbed Professor Oak sleep, "it's me, Aaron, professor"

He turns to look to the screen of the telephone and smiles at seeing me, "Aaron, my boy. How have you been doing?"

"I'm fine, professor," I say with a smile of my own.

"Then how's your journey? Have you reached Vermilion yet?" He asks, as he sips on his mug of what I think is coffee.

I shake my head negatively, "not yet, professor, I'm at a wild Pokemon centre (a Pokemon centre that isn't located in a town) right now."

He nods in understanding, "hm, so why did you call me, my boy?"

"Well, first Rapier finally evolved, so I want to ask if you have any advice on his training, and I also caught a Bulbasaur, so I want you to review the recipe, I made for him," I explain.

A look of surprise shows on Professor Oak's face, "a Bulbasaur!? Those are quite rare in the wild, Aaron. You sure are lucky."

I grin at the professor, and he just sighs, "But I guess I can take a look, it just might take a while since I just received some papers from a colleague of mine about mega evolution."

Mega evolution? Is Professor Oak doing collaborative work with Professor Sycamore? I guess, mega evolution does fit right into Professor Oak's specialization of 'Pokemon and trainer relations'.

I can't lie saying that I'm not interested in mega evolution. Not only does it give immense powers to the Pokemon, but it also strengthens the bond between the trainer and the Pokemon. But I also have some questions that weren't answered in the anime or games, like, where does the energy from the mega evolution come from? Bounds? Can you really take energy from something so immaterial? But this is the Pokemon world, so not everything will work the same, but then how about the reason a trainer can only mega evolve one Pokemon per battle? There are a lot of things I still don't know, and it doesn't help that I want to have a mega stone in the future as well.

Wait, is it even possible for me to wield mega evolution? I'm not exactly normal anymore or pure human. I just hope Mew's DNA doesn't make it impossible for me to mega evolve my Pokemon.

"Are you talking about Kalo's regional professor, Professor Sycamore?" I ask Professor Oak.

He looks at me shocked, "Oh, I didn't think you would know him."

I laugh awkwardly, "I try to keep tabs on all the regional professors, but it doesn't help that his specialization is mega evolution, which is something I'm interested in."

"Interesting," he mumbles to himself. "Aaron, may I ask how much you know of mega evolution?"

I don't see any problem with that, "mega evolution is a process in which a Pokemon surpasses the normal limits of evolution, temporarily evolving into a stronger form. Mega evolution happens when a trainer and a pokemon with a key and mega stone respectively have a strong bond and connect using the stones. Only certain Pokemons have the ability to mega evolve, and to do so they must possess their respective mega stone. An example would be the Gardevoir from the Kalos champion, Diantha."

As I finish explaining of what I know about the concept of mega evolution, I look at Professor Oak, who is looking wide-eyed at me.

"When you said you are interested in mega evolution, I only expected the basics, but you definitely impressed me, Aaron," Professor Oak breathes out. "Mega evolution isn't very well known outside of Kalos, but of those who do know about it, most don't know half of what you said."

I'm surprised. While it is shown that mega evolution isn't something widely known, I wasn't expecting Professor Oak to be so surprised about it, "ahh, it's just that I find it interesting."

Professor Oak gives a heartfelt laugh, "is that so? Anyway, I received the document with your recipe. For your Beedrill I sent you some texts that I have about its body and some notes on other trainers that trained Beedrill as well. Take care, my boy, I'm excited to see how much you will accomplish."

I also say my goodbye to him just before he closes the call. Well, this was strange. Why was he so surprised at my knowledge of mega evolution? Anyway, I have other things to do now.

"Aaron!" I hear Brock calling me.

Turning around I see him running towards me, "what is it, Brock?"

"It's Charmander, it has disappeared!" he exclaims.

Following him, Milo and I enter the room where Charmander was being taken care of, just to see Misty, Ash and Nurse Joy already waiting with worried looks on their faces.

"I bet he went back to that rock to wait for Damian," Ash says.

"We gotta go back," Brock yells. "Charmander doesn't yet know that Damian has abandoned him."

"Yeah," Misty agrees.

I extend my hand to Ash, "Ash, give me your Pokedex, I'll copy the video I took last night with it."

"Ah? But won't you come with us?" He asks confused.

I shake my head negatively, "no, I have to stay here at the Pokemon centre to deal with the police, when they get here."

He nods in understanding before giving me his Pokedex, to which I quickly copy the video to. Passing data between Pokedexes is actually very easy.

"Here, and be sure to be careful," I warn them, "Charmander has just been abandoned by the person he trusted the most, so he might be unstable after watching the video."

They seem to understand my message and leave the Pokemon centre in a hurry to find the orange lizard. I have to wait here for Officer Jenny to arrive, which is boring as heck. But, thankfully, the Pokemon centre owns some nice books about Pokemon that I haven't read before, so it isn't all that bad. Besides, I also get some time to spend relaxing with my Pokemon.

"Come out everybody, " I say, as I release all of my Pokemon from their pokeballs. "We'll be waiting for someone to arrive here, so you're all free to do what you like as long as it doesn't cause any trouble, alright?"

"Yes sir!" Milo jokes, while putting his paw in a saluting position.

Milo decides to play with Rapier, while Zion sleeps and Freyr talks to Kayda. I'm seriously impressed by how quick the two of them became friends, and I always see the two of them together watching the other team members. Although, it mostly consists of watching over Milo as he is the one who causes the most trouble.

Getting comfy on an armchair, I open the first book that I found interesting, 'Slowpoke tail and its history', and start to read. Thankfully, I also have professor's notes on Beedrill, if the books turn out to be boring, so I'm not worried about getting bored.

"Hello, would I be right to guess that you are Aaron?" A voice asks from behind me, startling me out of reading.

Looking back I see Officer Jenny looking down at me. So, she finally got here, I'm almost sad as I'm just about to finish my book.

I look at her calmly, "yes, and you must be Officer Jenny, in charge with the case of a Charmander's abuse, am I right?"

She gives me a firm nod, her face impassive, "you're right. Would you please follow me to Nurse's Joy office?"

In response, I just get up, and return all of my Pokemon, except for Milo, before following her as soon as she starts to walk. We make our way in silence until we reach Nurce's Joy office, and I sit at one of the chairs.

"Before we start I would like to thank you for what you have done." I'm about to open my mouth, when she puts her hand forward, signalling for me to let her finish first, "after we were contacted, the police searched for Damian's file, and found that he had already been accused of abusing his Pokemon more that once before, but there was never any evidence to prove the claim. So what you've done is very much appreciated."

"Not to mention that I've heard from my sisters that you've helped us against Team Rocket two times," she praises, making my face turn red in embarrassment.

"I-I didn't do much, the police is the one that did most of the work," I stumble.

"Don't sell yourself short, Aaron. You were a great help," Officer Jenny laughs. "And so we have decided to give you a reward for all your help," she extends her hand offering a small black box to me.

"N-no, I can't accept this. The other times I already received some money and this time I just did what any person would do," I tried to push the box back, but Office Jenny helds firm.

"Just accept it, Aaron. It was the headquarters that decided on this, so just take it," she declares sternly, giving me no room to refuse.

I sigh, before grabbing the box. Slowly opening it, it reveals a sparkling orange semi-transparent stone that seems to radiate heat. I can't take my eyes off the rock that almost seems familiar in a strange way I don't understand. It is mostly orange, but I think I can almost see something flickering inside the rock, almost like a flame. I can also instinctively tell that it isn't a normal stone, it just seems to have an aura of power around it.

"It's a Firestone," Officer Jenny announces. "We had this one left over after evolving all the police Growlites that were ready, so don't feel bad for having it."

I look back to the stone, while noticing that Milo also seems entranced by the orange rock. Closing the box, I put it back inside my bag, receiving a whine from Milo, before thanking Officer Jenny.

"Don't worry kiddo, just make sure to stay out of trouble for a while, alright?" She says, jokingly.

I give an embarrassed chuckle, before leaving Nurce's Joy and closing the door behind me. Now I have to find Ash and the best chance should be near Charmander's rock, I think.

"Milo, let's go find the others," I call out to him after getting all of my things.

I leave the Pokemon centre before starting to jog in the direction of the rock.

"Hey, wait up!" Milo shouts as a joke. He's much faster than me, so reaching me isn't a problem.

We continue to run down the road before we hear a strong sound of thunder and look up just in time to see Team Rocket flying away. I guess this answers where Ash is.

Not wasting any time, I start running in the direction I can see smoke rising to the sky. Milo is at my side keeping up with me while humming some strange tune.

"Hey, guys!" I call out as soon as I see them.

Noticing The pokeball in Ash's hand, I assume he caught Charmander. At least that didn't change. I don't know what would happen, if Ash didn't have his ace.

"Aaron, just in time," Ash exclaims, when he sees me, "look at this, I captured Charmander."

"Great, Ash," I smile at him. "And I and Milo dealt with the police. I doubt Damian will be able to abuse Pokemon anymore."

"Yes! Now we can continue our journey to Vermilion City," he jumps in excitement, "can't wait to get my third badge."

I sigh at his childishness, while Milo laughs. We're back on the road, I guess.

Boom, new chapter! I had a lot of fun writing this chapter and hope you all enjoyed it. Anyway, something that I thought worth mentioning right now is that during the episode nurse Joy says that: "Pokemon shouldn't be used in personal fights," which I find quite funny, as it is shown that most people in the Pokemon world resolve their problems with Pokemon battles. Even rivalry could be considered a 'personal fight', so yeah, dumb.

Also I'd like to warn that I've rewrote the first chapter. It was bad, very bad. So yeah I rewrote it, but it's still mostly the same, I just did some improvements since I found it quite lacking.
