(And again with the dorky titles that even the author doesn't understand. Why is it called that?)

Keep in mind that the rest of the book takes place nine months later. It's been a while, but I'm back to this book! I have two or three new chapters ready to type and upload, but this one doesn't really fit in the Café Edition book. So because of this, I decided to add this chapter to this book. Basically, anything having to do with the characters going to work or talking about work will go in that book. Things that are kind of random, but mostly Sonic related, will go here.

While I'm at it, I might as well say this... If you decide you only want to read this story and not that story, or that story and not this story, there will be gaps in the overall story of all of my works. I strongly suggest you read the chapters as they are released for both books. I try to get the chapters in order by date. This one I began writing a long while ago, maybe a month or less ago, but the chapter took place on September 6th, 8th, and 9th in 2016 in order. Enough of my ramblings :3 Let the chapter start.

(No, NOT enough of my ramblings! Basically, I had started {Cafe Edition} and thought that I could just move onto that story and leave this story behind. However, that wasn't the case.

Instead, I decided to split my story into two books- {Cafe Edition} and {w/Sonic}. {Cafe Edition} was to take place in the afternoons after school and {w/Sonic} was supposed to be for during school and the weekends or non-work days.

Therefore, I came back to this story after an amount of time. The writing didn't really improve during that time, but the plot had definitely progressed due to the events of {Cafe Edition} taking place after the previous chapters of {w/Sonic}. Now my ramblings have actually come to a close. ^^)

Shadow woke that morning to the sound of purring accompanied by a feeling of warmth beside him in bed. He turned to his right and lifted up the covers. He wished he hadn't.

Beside him, sleeping soundly with her tail wrapped around one of her legs, was Honest the Cat, his best friend and also his biggest pain in the neck.

"What the-" he muttered, his face turning scarlet.

Then, suddenly, Honest came to life and wrapped her arms around him.

"Eek!" Shadow tried to get away and ended up pulling both of them plus the blankets into the floor.

"Good morning, Shadow!" Honest exclaimed, beaming happily.

Shadow wanted to push Honest off, but it was-

"It's no use!" Silver exclaimed, running into the room with his eyes crossed. When he saw Shadow in the floor with Honest, his face lit up red. "I, uh, had no clue you and Honest had gotten that far."

(New character number one.)

"What? No! That's not what-" Silver closed the door.

Shadow looked up at Honest. "Get off."

"Aww, okay..." she gave him a kiss on the cheek and got off.

"I'll meet you for breakfast!" She sped off out the door and down the hallway, her tail flying like a furry ribbon behind her.

-

Shadow went into the kitchen to find Sonic there, waiting for him. He grabbed a toaster pastry from a cabinet and sat down beside him.

"Morning, Faker," Shadow said emotionlessly, taking a bite of his breakfast.

Sonic lifts an eyebrow. "Uh, good morning to you, too? You said something so pleasant and nice, but ended with a mean nickname. What was that for?"

"Isn't that what people say to each other in the mornings?" Shadow asked, taking another bite of his pastry, the red, cherry filling dripping down his chin.

"Hold still." Sonic suddenly leaned over.

Shadow gives a startled yelp and performs a chaos blast, sending Sonic flying across the room. "Faker," he says, using a napkin to wipe his chin.

When Honest hears a loud thump, she comes running into the room in desperate search of the noise. She finds Sonic's outline in a wall. "Uh, I won't ask."

(Not really a new character, but a new regular character. :3)

Honest walks over to the table and gives Shadow a big hug. "Good morning, Shadow-kun!"

Shadow continues eating his pastry, despite Honest's arms being wrapped around his middle.

Sonic peeked his head through a hole in the wall. "What?! That's an unfair funfair (XD)! How come she gets to do that, and I don't get a kiss?"

Shadow turns around and says, "There's a big difference between those two things."

Sonic mocks him silently as he goes to pour himself a glass of milk.

Shadow recovers and his blush fades. He nibbles on his pastry a little before looking back up at Sonic. "Did you see where Silver went?"

Sonic takes a gulp of his milk and then looks in Shadow's direction with a confused face. "I'm not sure. He ran towards the living room."

Honest toasts herself a waffle. "He's probably going to play video games," she pointed out, a finger pointing towards her left ear. She could faintly hear a beep beep beep noise resounding from the back of the house.

"Yeah, but I just don't get why everyone owns my house except me. I'm paying the bills, so I should get to play the PS3," Shadow said, propping his head up with his arm as he tore bites off his toaster pastry one by one.

"You know what?" Honest asked, sitting down and laying her head down on the table beside Shadow, her arms stretched out. "We should downsize. Sell this old house and go for something smaller, but just big enough so that we have more than one bedroom and space to store all the videogames."

"You're the one with the laptop. If you can find something for less money than what we're paying now and with all of these things you say we need we'll use your idea." Shadow finished the last bite of his pastry. "I'm just tired of everybody around here thinking our house is the town hall."

-

"Come see inside!" Honest exclaimed, running up the steps and disappearing inside.

Shadow and Sonic trailed behind her. On the outside, it looked like any old apartment building.

When the trio made it to the actual apartment, they found this: a three bedroom, one bath apartment with a small 'kitchen' which consisted of a very tiny set of counters and cabinets, an oven and a fridge. The living room had enough room for their recliner, but not enough for their couch and a balcony overlooking nothing but trees and the outline of a building in the background.

"When you said downsizing, you really meant it, didn't you?" Sonic walked to the glass doors in the back of the living room and peered through them. He turned around. "I found our dining room."

Honest and Shadow were confused. They came closer to see what he was seeing. There was a small, round table with three chairs on the balcony. Honest snorted, then let it go in a laugh. Shadow made a pouty face.

On September 9, 2016, Honest woke up and went to open up the curtains and let some morning light in. There, laying in the windowsill, was a small orangish cat with a brown stripe over her left ear. She was fast asleep.

(New character number three.)

"Get up, sleepyhead. It's time for school," Honest said, nudging the cat in the side with her hand.

Pop. The cat transformed into a girl. She was sitting up in the window now. "Fine, fine. I'm up."

The two girls went downstairs for breakfast. Upon arriving in the kitchen downstairs, they found two others already eating breakfast. They were on opposite sides of the island, clearly wanting to get as far away from each other as they could.

"What happened?" Honest asked casually, walking to the cabinet to grab a box of no-name sugary mystery cereal.

One of the two people "pfted" as it was called and began stuffing his face with cereal. The other just smiled.

'I guess I don't want to know,' Honest thought to herself. Akane, the cat that was now not anymore, went to sit beside one of the two people- the one that was smiling despite the other one being clearly distressed. This person was called Sonic, and the other was Shadow. Sonic was a huge jerk from time to time and now was one of those moments.

Honest sat down and checked the time on her phone which had been sitting on the counter beside the toaster. The time read 6:15. Honest decided to take her cereal to her room, where she would watch YouTube (or HedgeTube like I mentioned in an earlier chapter). She watched a video where a Swedish man built houses. This time he was building a large, modern house, which to Honest looked like a large, modern piece of trash. But she watched anyway, for the internet was out yet again and that was all she had downloaded to her computer.

Finally, it was 7:25 and the four main characters of this particular chapter raced to get their shoes put on and their hair brushed before they could leave. Honest had drawn a picture of what had happened the previous morning and wanted to show it to Akane, but she was saddened to find that she had left her notebook in her locker at school. Oh well.

When the four showed up at school, Honest went to sit beside Silver, who was looking rather gloomy and sitting by himself. Bad choice. Out of no where, a giant, black sludge monster started forming out of the ground. "Aah!" Honest and Silver alike find themselves screaming. The monster growls and Honest is sent flying backwards into the street.

Then, the monster starts shrinking, and shrinking, and shrinking before taking on the form of Shadow. Except instead of being black with red stripes, has grey stripes and no mouth. "Get away from Silver. It's my job to cheer him up," the monster that was now not anymore said. He walked over to Silver. Silver grabbed him in a hug. "You're good at pretending to be a ferocious monster!"

"Because I am a ferocious monster," Mephiles, the monster, said.

(And... new character number four!)

Silver squeezes him tighter and smiles. "Whatever."

Honest sits up and rubs her head. "I learned a life lesson today." She shot a glare at Mephiles. "Don't try to cheer people up, or you will be attacked by a walking mushroom garden."

Later that day, in third period Honest painted a picture of a show she knew hardly anything about but thought was pretty, in fourth period Honest did definitions about Persia and Cyrus the Great, in fifth period she found herself falling asleep with the teacher's lesson acting as a lullaby, and in sixth period waited for an email that never came. Next was seventh period, and she knew there would most likely be a pep rally. Since all of those things are boring, I won't write about that. But, at least you now have a nice understanding of what Honest's mornings are like. Next I might write about how she spent her weekend, or about the time that Silver and her played Minecraft. Tell me in the comments which one you would rather read. Good-bye! :3

(I drew a picture of Honest and Silver playing Minecraft, but I'm pretty sure I never wrote about it. ^^)
