(Okay, you thought the last chapter introduced a ton of characters. This chapter also introduces one of my stories' most reoccurring plots.)
Another chapter, kind of longer than the last one. This book is based on 9/1-9/2, 2016.
It was lunch time on a Thursday, and Honest the Cat was about to explode. Behind her, as she walked, was none other than Scourge the Hedgehog. Honest walked ever so slowly through the line until she had a chance to get out and put her bag in the seat she would be sitting in later. When she returned to the line, Scourge and his friend, Fiona the Fox, were farther ahead of her. When Honest got in line, she was behind the Chaotix Detectives and in front of Amy Rose and Cream the Rabbit. No one was talking to her, and she felt left out. Until Shadow arrived. Shadow the Hedgehog slipped into the line beside her quietly and was surprisingly able to cut in line without any witnesses.
"Shadow!" Honest exclaimed, grabbing his hands. He pulled them away almost instantly. "I thought for sure that would be the end of me!"
(Shadow was always there for me. (´•̥ω•̥`))
Shadow cast his eyes down the line of people, then back at Honest. "It was Scourge and Fiona, wasn't it?"
Honest rocked in her shoes before stopping abruptly and bowing her head yes. Lately, every time Scourge was near, she'd freeze up as she had before. She didn't know why. All she knew was that her and him used to share classes together last year, and now they don't. Because of this, Honest guessed she just wanted to quit being his friend. Especially since Fiona didn't particularly like Honest. Plus, Sonic, Amy, Tails the Fox, and pretty much everyone hated her guts. Honest still liked Scourge, but... oh well.
(I think I know why. I think it may be because of how he was a villain earlier in this story. However, I see Scourge as more of a good character than a bad character nowadays due to having read the comics. At the time, all I knew about Scourge was what I had heard or inferenced.)
When Honest and Shadow got to their seats with meatloaf in tow, Rosy the Rascal was there spouting off nonsense about how her "Scourgey" and Manic, Sonic's brother, are going out, and how she is "totally not okay with it."
Rouge the Bat, Silver the Hedgehog and Blaze the Cat were there, pretending like they were listening to Rosy's mindless chatter. Well, Silver wasn't doing a good job because he was too busy scarfing down the meatloaf as if it was the best thing ever, which it wasn't. In fact, to Honest the meatloaf tasted like asphalt smothered in ketchup. Yuck.
The next morning, Honest ate a hashbrown while watching YouTube (or HedgehogTube if that bothers you) with Shadow. They were watching a guy with a silly accent build houses in a popular game. Honest yawned. She thought the house he was building was pretty boring. It was a modern-ish A-frame house. Every time it appeared as if he was finished building it, he would go and tweak it in some way going, "but what if we do this". Honest sped through the rest of the video and went to get dressed at 6:54 am.
By the time Sonic had finally declared himself ready, it was time for school to begin. The trio rushed to school and got there in a supersonic second. Amy was there to greet Honest. "Hey, Amy! How are-"
"Did you get my thing done yesterday?" Honest narrowed her eyes. She knew what was being mentioned. Amy was talking about yesterday, when Honest had agreed to develop her photo for her.
"It turned out black, completely black."
"Wha?"
"Everybody's ended up black."
And then the bell rang. Everybody standing outside the school flooded into the building. Honest went inside, got her binder, and went to her first period classroom.
Since Honest had gotten all her school work done yesterday, she decided she'd finish writing the previous day's story of what had happened at lunch and started writing about what had happened that morning. So she did, and then went on with her day.
It was September 12 on a Monday, and Honest was walking to 8th period when something unexpected happened. There, outside the door, was Jet the Hawk, otherwise known as Honest's crush and the person she always found herself stalking. Since he had his back turned to her, she was intently staring at the back of his head, finding herself not able to move. Suddenly, he turns around! Honest speeds around him seemingly at the speed of light, leaving nothing but a ring of flames where she had been standing.
In the process of running past him like a bolt of lightning, she had only barely brushed shirt sleeves with him. Honest dove into a corner as soon as she entered the room. From there, she crawled under a desk like a spider and clutched one of the chair legs for dear life. The desk turned out to be Blaze's desk, and she refused to sit down until Mephiles pulled her out with three of his tentacles.
Mephiles didn't stop there, though. He lifted Honest high above the desk. Blaze gulped and took a step back. Shadow quietly covered his eyes with one hand. Mephiles stuck Honest to the ceiling with black ooze so that she would bring anyone else down with her. She hung up there and sobbed.
When it was time to go home, Sonic was waiting outside the school building. Shadow looked like he was carrying a dead body out of the school as he gingerly walked down the steps. Sonic zipped over. "When's the funeral?"
Shadow looked at Sonic disapprovingly. "She ran into Jet in the hallway while spying on him, she says."
"That faker got her like this?" Honest's nose twitched.
"I think it's called the 'Senpai Effect'."
Yeah, I think that's all the chapters for now. I have a drawing to finish, then if I get any ideas, I might start writing something else.
(I've been trying to submit as many chapters of this story as possible so I can move on to {Cafe Edition} since it has so many chapters and is so important at this point, so this is not all the chapters for now.)
