The following two paragraphs are about what happened to Honest the morning of September 22nd, 2016 as well as what happened in a game she was playing.
Honest woke up at 6:00 am that morning in her own bed. "Darn it!" She looked at her phone, only to confirm that it was actually 6am and she was still in her own bed. Honest went downstairs to get some breakfast. She found Sonic there and proceeded to complain to him about how her alarm clock wasn't working. He offered her some of his breakfast sausage, but Honest refused and ate a burrito with pieces of hash browns and globs of eggs. Speaking of globs, when Honest went to her room to get dressed and play a game, Mephiles was in her room, against a wall near her table, examining a Silver plushie he was always found with. It usually stayed on Honest's bed near her pillow, but he always came to her room to see it. Weirdo. When Honest walked into the room, he looked up from the doll before melting into a puddle and sliding up the wall and out the window.
The next few paragraphs are of her at school later that same day, September 22nd, 2016.
(Why did I add notes about what events were written about again? ._. )
It wasn't even lunchtime yet, but Honest still wished she were at home. She sat at her desk in the back of the room, sipping a can of lemon lime soda and writing notes about the Chaldeans and the Persians, both groups of humans that had lived long ago. Honest hated these desks that were separated from other desks. She felt so alone, and cold, and... what the-? Mephiles was sitting to her right. Suddenly, with no warning whatsoever, he had reached out with a few of his tentacles, wrapping them around her. She dropped her pencil and watching in terror as it rolled slowly across the floor, stopping by one of the legs of the empty desk to her left.
"You look to be shivering, so I thought I'd help warm you up," he stated plainly, his face not changing, only staring her down with his cold, lifeless, yellow-green, lizard-like eyes.
(Ah, the tentacle monster. Every main character has to have an arch-nemesis like Mephiles.)
"You're not warm! You're cold, wet, sinister, and slimy!" As soon as Shadow heard her voice from across the room, he turned around abruptly and sent a spear of lightning flying into her attacker, making him explode and black goo go everywhere. Honest was free. When he reformed, he asked to go to the restroom. He didn't return the rest of that morning.
The next period, now that Mephiles was no longer a problem, Shadow sat in the seat next to Honest. He helped her with the last few questions of her homework. Honest was grateful to have him as a friend. What would she do without him? Probably get strangled to death by Mephiles. I'm just saying- that almost happens anyway, and Shadow is always the one who ends up saving Honest every time, except maybe the time Honest saved Shadow from Mephiles. o/o We won't talk about that now, but I might type that later if I can find it. It's most likely buried somewhere in an old notebook. Let's continue for right now and try to go for a longer chapter this time...
Today, Monday, September 26th, 2016, the new game, Fire and Ice, was coming out, and Honest was busily doodling pictures of what she thought it would look like in her red notebook. She drew all of the characters in their Boom redesigns. Honest looked over at Shadow. He had his head down on his desk, his quills standing straight up into the air awkwardly and his ears flattened against his head. She began sketching this scene out in her notebook. She put him in his Boom shoes and gloves, which he wasn't wearing, maybe because he wasn't going to be in the new game (she'd just have to see when her copy came in the mail). Honest shaded him in shakily and beamed to herself.
(Fire and Ice is easier than Shattered Crystal due to there being less collecting as a bar to progressing, but it's still really hard. I'm only like three stages in despite having it since the day it came out. o.o)
He sensed her change in expression and lifted his head. "What are you smiling about?"
"Oh, nothing," she said, drawing a cartoony border around her picture. He looked over at her notebook. He stifled a laugh. "That's me."
"Yes, it is you," Honest replied, brightening up a tint. He went back to putting his head down as Honest turned her page. Next, she drew Sonic doing the same pose and smiled as she wondered what he was thinking. Of course, this was a drawing, so he wasn't actually thinking anything, but she thought it silly nonetheless.
It was finally time to go home, and Honest and Shadow were walking down the steps of school before going down the road to the right of the school in the direction of the café. Honest really didn't feel like working that day, but she had no other choice, did she? Shadow was silently walking beside her, his face blank, a small book in his left hand with the title World History for Aliens. Aliens? Honest giggled.
"What?" Shadow asked, startled.
"World History for Aliens?" She pointed towards his book.
"Oh, this?" he asked, holding up the book. "It's really easy to understand for me, so I read it."
Honest just shrugged her shoulders and kept walking.
Now it was Tuesday and also second period. Someone behind Honest asked, "Am I in the right class?"
Honest turned around. It was Manic, Sonic's brother, whom was always in Honest's class this period. "Uh, yeah. It's second period." She "pfted" as it was called and went to typing up a chapter of her fanfiction on her computer.
Shadow came into the class and sat beside her. He plugged a set of earphones into his computer and started listening to the Sonic '06 soundtrack. For a game that was universally used as a symbol of nightmarishly horrible video games, it sure had some awesome music.
Silver was playing some sort of flash game resembling Super Smash Bros in the seat on her left. When the teacher saw he was playing games, he sent Silver to go sit in the back of the room. Shadow watched the situation silently as Honest could faintly hear "Dreams of an Absolution" playing in the black hedgy's ears.
Honest drew a quick little drawing of Miku, Teto, and Neru from the song "Triple Baka" in her notebook. While the rest of the class focused on defining their terms, Honest finished hers in two seconds and used the rest of her time to perfect her drawing.
Honest, Sonic, Amy, Silver, Blaze, Mephiles, Knuckles, and Tails sat at a table at the back of the school, chatting before the bell rang. Shadow and Akane were standing behind Honest. Honest and Sonic were talking with each other about the things happening around the school. It was picture day, and Sonic had wrote Sonic was here on the poster in the front of the school that said, "Smile!". Honest couldn't help but laugh when she saw it as she walked through the front doors. However, as soon as she got to her locker, her laughter disappeared and instead was replaced with a look of complete disgust.
Honest's locker had black ooze dripping out of it, down the front of the lockers underneath, and onto the floor, as well as a cloud of pure darkness floating around it. Honest really didn't want to have to touch her locker, but she needed her binder for English. She very slowly and carefully opened the door to her locker. What she saw scared her so much she jumped so high she hit the ceiling with a thump and fell back down, landing on her bottom.
A number of black tentacles started reaching out of the locker and towards Honest. They had her caught in a supersonic second, and she started being pulled into her locker head first. Shadow's locker was opposite Honest's locker on the other side of the hall. He noticed immediately and bolted over. "What the bleep is going on?" He tried to reach out and help, but instead was grabbed by the tentacles also. "L-Let go! This isn't funny, Mephiles!" He was pulled inside the locker in a supersonic second also.
Sonic happened to be standing nearby. He had his back turned to them and was whistling like he had no clue what was going on behind him.
"Come here and help us, Faker, or so help me I'll-"
"Aw, okay," Sonic said. He walked to stand in front of the locker. Instantly tentacles wrapped themselves around him as well.
"I've heard the fans love Mephonic," a voice said from within Honest's locker.
The two hedgehogs and the cat entered class ten minutes late, and, when handing in their tardy slips, got the the slips stuck their fingers with goop. That was hard to explain.
Hope you liked the longer chapter! Even though they spoke faintly of the cafe, I'm still putting this chapter in this book. Please leave your feedback in the comments!
(They literally didn't set foot in the cafe. Why would I put it in {Cafe Edition}?)
