This morning, Honest woke up at 4:00 am. She played a few levels of a game before heading to Shadow's room on the other side of the house.
They hadn't moved into the apartment from however many chapters ago. They chose against it because one- Shadow couldn't stand being in too close quarters with Sonic- and two- Amy lived across the street in a similar apartment building, and Sonic really didn't feel like dealing with her every other day. Honest was very upset, so she was planning to build a nice house for them in Minecraft (or Mobicraft XD). Hopefully she could get what she built there to carry over to the real world. Afterall, anything was possible in the world of fanfictions. I think.
Shadow happened to have his door split open a crack, so Honest slipped in as quietly as she could. She found him asleep on his bed, the covers piled on the floor beside him, lying on his back with an arm rested across his stomach. Honest beamed and got in the bed beside him, falling into a deep slumber with Shadow's warmth beside her.
Sometime in the middle of the night, Honest got very cold. When Shadow awoke the next morning, he had the air knocked out of him with Honest lying on top of him, preventing him from breathing. He sat up and knocked the cat girl off of him with his free arm.
Honest slowly and sleepily opened her eyes. When she saw Shadow was awake, her eyes flew open at a supernatural rate and she lunged at Shadow. "Good morning!" she exclaimed, trapping him in a hug that he couldn't escape.
Yet again the air was knocked out of him. Honest eventually let go and allowed him to stand up. "You want me to make breakfast?"
"Sure!" Honest sprung out of bed and opened the door for him. Shadow walked past. "Can we have waffles?" She began to follow him downstairs to the kitchen. Shadow navigated to the waffle iron. Honest hovered over him as he poured the batter in. "Can I taste it?" Honest reached out a finger.
"Don't you want to eat it when it's cooked?" he asked flatly.
Honest tilted her head. "Guess you're right." Honest continued to watch Shadow like a hawk once more.
Once the waffles were done, Shadow poured syrup over all three of them, and Honest and him settled down to eat. Shadow drank a cup of coffee with his. Honest refused to drink coffee because she claimed it would stunt her growth. Shadow didn't believe her, but who knows if she's right or not.
Eventually Sonic made it to breakfast. "Good morning, Shadow."
"Um, and me," Honest pointed out. Sonic just shrugged and took a chair.
"Do you want a waffle?" Shadow asked, standing up and reaching for the waffle mix.
"I want a pancake!" Sonic declared.
"Then make it yourself," Shadow replied, giving Sonic the batter.
"I don't have time for cooking. I'll just go get a chili dog," he said, dropping the bag of mix into Shadow's arms and taking off. A supersonic second later, he had returned with his chili dog. "Who would have a chili dog for breakfast? Honest wanted to ask, but she already knew the answer. "Sonic would have a chili dog for breakfast.
Honest found Akane sleeping in Honest's bed. She woke her up, they got dressed in identical outfits, and the two of them plus Shadow and Sonic dashed to school.
Now it was Thursday, October 6, 2016 and Honest was walking into school. Ahead of her, Scourge was whispering something to Jet. What were those green vegetables up to? When they saw Honest, they broke up and walked in separate directions, Jet going up the stairs and Scourge disappearing into a nearby classroom.
Honest was deeply bothered by this as she walked to her locker. Shadow was standing there. Honest pulled a binder out of her locker. "Did you see Scourge and Jet?" Honest asked.
"I saw Jet as I was walking indoors. What, you wanted to see them?" Shadow replied simply.
"No," Honest answered. "I saw them in the hallway. I think they were whispering about me."
"I wouldn't worry about it much." Shadow closed Honest's locker because she forgot what she was doing. "I mean, that's Scourge for you. He's probably spreading some terrible rumor about you."
"What?!" Honest exclaimed.
"No! I meant that no one will believe Scourge because he's always making things up," Shadow explained himself.
Honest let out a breath. "Sorry. It's just he's talking to Jet, and I don't want Senpai to notice me in that way..."
Shadow rolled his eyes. "Let's go to English."
In Business Communications second period, Honest drew a picture of Shadow in a bunch of different outfits. In Spanish sixth period, Honest worked even more on the drawing, but she was still unable to finish it. In seventh period, her teacher was very strict on drawing in class, so she wouldn't be able to work on it until tomorrow.
