Hestia hated to fly on airplanes.
It's something her entire family agreed on. Especially with the new predicament that happened. She decided to take a nap in her dream. She was flying but not in a plane. First, she was on a flying motorcycle. Then, she started flying with wings of her own that looked like bugs or fairy wings. It was fun flying through the night sky and seeing all the constellations. The young ten year old almost eleven was then woken up by her mother. They were getting ready to land in England.
After waking up and getting off the plane, Hestia remembered why her and her mother were here in Little Whinging, Surrey. Nearly ten years ago her mother and brother came to England, found her and adopted her into their family. So her mother thought it would be a good idea to come to the place she was found at. Hestia knew she was abandoned but didn't care. The Jacksons were her family. They both wanted to come here in November near her birthday. But her mother thought it would be better to come during the summer because no school. Plus with Percy at his camp. It was the best time to go.
In a way, Hestia felt strangely jealous. After all, she might never see her brother again should he decide to stay year-round. However, she also knew how important that this was for Percy. He would finally get to know people who were just like him and be safe from other Greek monsters. So, in the end, she decided that she needed to do the best she could to be supportive.
Eventually, Hestia and her mother arrived in a decent hotel. After unpacking, they decided to go sightseeing. They saw many sights such as Big Ben and the London Eye. They also visited the spot where they found Hestia ten years ago. Looking around, Hestia was glad she didn't grow up here. It looked really boring. Not long after arriving, the Dursley's crossed their path and held their noses up at the pair, much to their displeasure. Not long after that, many cats crossed their path and started to swarm them. "Um, what's with all the cats? Do we smell like fish or something?" Hestia snarked. The pair left before the cats got too numerous.
After that they went to the zoo and got some lemon popsicles. Sadly they weren't blue but still tasty. Luckily, lemon is one of her favorite flavors, just as her brother loved chocolate and her mother loved strawberry. While they were eating they walked around looking at the animals. They stopped at the dolphins, only for Hestia to start to look sad, which her mother noticed.
"Hestia, what's wrong?" Her mother asked her. "Are you missing Percy?"
"Yeah, I am. But that's not all I'm feeling. I'm jealous. He gets to stay at this camp with people just like him and I may not get to see him again," Hestia explained.
"Honey, you know this is important to Percy, right?"
"I do, and I feel bad that I feel this way. But that's not all. I'm still scared after what happened with Hades," Hestia revealed.
"Hey, it's okay. I understand you're upset, but don't worry. Knowing Percy we're going to be able to see him again before you know it. As for Hades, I'll admit that what happened wasn't good, but we made it out okay," Her mother reassured.
"Thanks mom."
"No problem honey. So, are you feeling better?"
"Yes, I am. Hey, can we go see the snakes?"
"Sure, honey."
And so the two of them went to go see the snakes. The mother stayed back while Hestia went to take a close look at the Boa Constrictor. The snake was sleeping and overall looking like he didn't want any visitors right now. However, after a minute or two, the snake opened his eyes lazily and stared at Hestia.
"Sorry to disturb you," Hestia apologized to the snake. "I'll leave now." Hestia was about to leave when the Boa Constrictor suddenly perked up and gave a look that said, "Don't worry. I get this all the time."
"That doesn't sound very good. So, where do you come from, anyway? I'm from New York," Hestia asked the Boa Constrictor.
The snake proceeded to point at a sign that Hestia read, "Boa Constrictor, Brazil. Oh, that sounds like a good place to be from."
However, the snake was quick to point at another sign that revealed that he was born in captivity.
"Oh. That sounds like a rough deal. No offense, but I can't even begin to think what it must feel like to be in your position. Brazil is a very great place from what I've heard," Hestia showed sympathy. "If only there was a way for you to get to Brazil."
All of a sudden, Hestia was pushed roughly out of the way and onto the ground by two big and mean children. "Hey, that dumb lizard is finally moving!" One of the boys yelled out.
Hestia didn't know what happened next, but all of a sudden the glass that kept the Boa Constrictor in his pen just disappeared. The two boys along with everyone nearby were quick to panic and run away at the sight of the freed snake. The snake began to slither away to freedom. "Aw, finally. Brazil, here I come! Thanks, amiga!" A voice, which Hestia believed came from the snake, said.
Hestia was unsure what to make of what just occurred, but she decided to return to her mother before she could be blamed for somehow causing that to occur. "Yeah. I'd rather not get blamed for that. Though, to be fair, I find it hard to believe that I would get blamed for a giant sheet of glass suddenly going MIA," Hestia muttered to herself.
